Really big, fat, delicious, and fresh sushi rolls in the most unexpected of places: a small sushi restaurant attached to Clark Street subway station. Yelp pointed me here, and my boyfriend and I ordered the following rolls: Volcano, Alaska, Explosion, and Romantic Sunset. Holy sh*t, the special rolls, particularly the Volcano, are amazing and filling. I mean sure, you don't get the ambiance of a nicer sushi restaurant, but if all you care about is the food then you will be more than satisfied. The special rolls are priced around $10-15 (comparable to other places) but much bigger, and they are generous with the fish. It's owned by a couple and they appeared to be the only ones cooking, so it took a little while for the food to come out, but it was worth the wait. read more

Hands down the best Sushi in Brooklyn, Mom & Pop are so welcoming and the food is always fresh and amazing. I'm a regular been coming here for 5yrs now an would definitely recommend them to everyone. YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED !!!! minor side note: there restaurant is located inside a subway station so its very small and its ran by just the two of them so there is sometimes a wait if its packed read more

Best Sushi in Brooklyn I say! Ow how I missed this place. I used to take it for granted when I lived in this area but coming back reminded me of how good and simple the sushi here is. For the price and freshness it can't be beat! Take it togo and walk over to the water at sunset for an amazing view of the city. Don't forget the mango mochi or red bean ice cream! read more

Lovingly nicknamed "Subway Sushi" this is on of our favorite spots. Reasonably priced. Delicious food (Henry and Clark Rolls are great). When you eat raw food you don't want to mess with a place that keep their place clean...so Most importantly thing is they are IMMACULATELY CLEAN! From the bathroom to when you walk out the door..Clean! Look at their history of cleanliness ratings from the health inspector and they have basically every Brooklyn sushi place beat. They are a sweet couple that are there day in and day out. Also a good take-out sushi spot for a lunch on the go! read more

My favorite sushi place in Brooklyn! Great prices and quality is superb. Small little spot run by two kind people who know how to make amazing food! Love it so much I visit often enough that they know my order without question. I recommend this spot to anyone visiting downtown Brooklyn! read more

I've tried a lot of sushi places and sampled some good rolls, but this place is beyond comparison so far. Its a cozy, warm inviting place for the intimate couple. There is a little wait, but only because its one person making the sushi and he takes his time. Its always worth a try to find a new place and explore its menu. P.S they usually take cash over cards. read more

The location was quite small and nondescript, but once I started eating I was extremely pleased. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. For the price you really get a lot of food. We were quite surprised by how stuffed we were at the end of our meal- something that does not usually happen with sushi! I got the spicy combo and really enjoyed it. We also loved the spider and shrimp tempura rolls! I will definitely go back and recommend it for someone looking for a nice little sushi place with great food! read more

Best sushi in the neighborhood. A true hidden gem, Sushi Gallery resides in the Clark Street 2/3 subway station. In addition to delicious sushi, they have the best rice, the most delicious seaweed salad, and most amazing Japanese drink selection. But my favorite thing of all is their ginger. Whatever they do to it makes it the perfect and most delicious palate cleanser. Nothing better than a spicy salmon roll followed by it. The best. I love you Sushi Gallery. You complete me. read more

I came to this place on a weekly basis for several months. Despite being turned off by the location in the subway station, I came because the food was consistently good. However, this changed when my boyfriend and I sat down at our usual table only to find a live cockroach crawl across the table. We got up and immediately left and have not returned. read more

Outstanding sushi spot despite being located in the Clark st subway station. The price is spot on and the service is friendly, quick and efficient. They also have some pretty good sushi to go options which makes this my go to when I'm coming home late from work. read more

A very comfortable, casual sushi bar that serves sushi rolls that are fresh fat and very pretty to look at. The tea they serve is also very nicely brewed(which is frequently refilled by the friendly owner), which complemented the sushi I had. Korean couple who run the place are very friendly too. Will go again! read more

This was one of our orders of sushi! This place is amazing, the sushi was delectable! It's so good, my bf in the background couldn't keep his chopsticks out of my plate :-). Try it for yourself, fantastic! read more

Sushi Gallery - Sushi Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I really like this mom and papa shop. I really liked their sushi rice and miso soup. I have been there a few times and have tried the black dragon roll and salmon rolls. Having tried the nearby Ozu and Iron Chef House, I have would definitely recommend this place over the other two. read more

Owners are nice and respectful. Every roll I've had has been great. Lots of bang for your buck. Definitely visit!

A lovely, adorable spot for sushi! A great atmosphere for a small restaurant located so conveniently in the Clark St. Subway station. The sashimi and sushi combo was a perfect size with just the right assortment of fish types and good pairing roll pairing. Will definitely be gokng back for more! read more

Our go to for sushi due to awesome quality and price. The usual we get is the spicy combo, which has more of a kick than other spots. While it is a small restaurant with a half dozen or so tables and bar seating, we have never experienced a wait. A great mom and pop operation that works like clockwork as shown by their attentive service. read more

Sushi Gallery - Sushi Bars Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

My friend took me here the other day. This has been her sushi spot since she moved into this neighborhood. It felt cozy and the food was good. I love that it's a mom-and-pop business. I would definitely return. read more

an absolutely amazing place, with continuous unwavering clean, deliciously prepared meals. It is like your mother cooking for you at home, and it is that fresh, and delicious. Happy that they are near my place. I have been to many high-end sushi restaurants, and this place is one of my favorites more so because I feel that they prepare the meals more like a family than as a business. I generally don't fully trust restaurant food the same as ones made at home, but I can trust this place 100%. I go there partly nostalgic of my mother's meals. The owner (a very nice couple of professional chefs) always keep the integrity of high food quality regardless of how busy they are, if they cannot keep up with the order, they just let go of them--the fresh quality food, which never changes. That is why people keep coming back. read more

Can't believe I lived right by here and ignored this place for as long as I did. Total mom & pop operation with a lotta love going into the food. I always get it to go but their spicy scallop roll is the best I've ever had. The portions are nice and the fish is fresh. Don't sleep on this place! read more

Best Sushi in the area, hands down! Reasonable prices and always incredibly fresh fish! Husband and wife that run the restaurant are adorable and so friendly. Definitely recommend, especially the yellowtail, it is so good! read more

I wanted to like this place, I really did. I'm local and would love to add another sushi restaurant to my "go-to's" so I convinced a friend to try Sushi Gallery with me for take-out. My major issue (my friend noticed it to) was that the sushi rice had a slight soapy taste to it. Yes, soap, as if maybe they didn't rinse the rice pot fully after they cleaned it. I ordered the sweet potato roll and was just expecting sweet potato but got a roll with avocado, sweet potato, and sauce, and the sweet potato had a grainy texture to it. The additional items on the sweet potato roll weren't bad, but given that it was in part for my kids, they made it inedible to them. I ordered directly from the restaurant and had a hard time finding a menu, but the one I found didn't provide a description other than "sweet potato" so I just wish it was more descriptive. The spicy crunchy tuna roll had what looked like balls of rice crispy cereal on top, and I'm used to the more shredded fried crisps. They also didn't include the small cups to put soy sauce in, and since I was eating my meal outside it made it more difficult than if I was home I would've had a dipping bowl. But I'm not a fan of plastic waste so I can't get too mad at them, but it was bad timing. The wasabi was melted and fully touching the rolls near it in the container, which again for me wasn't a big deal, but made it so that my kids they wouldn't eat those rolls. Also worth noting that they add 3.99% if you pay with credit card (the prices listed are if you pay in cash). They didn't have bulgogi (they said they only have sushi) but maybe that's a covid thing? Maybe I'll give them one more chance but based on my first visit, I'm not very hopeful unfortunately. read more

Probably the best sushi in the neighbourhood. Small, unassuming, mom and pop establishment, tucked away in the entrance to the subway. This is Brooklyn Heights, so that is not as bad as it sounds. The owners are very pleasant and eager to please. Most of all it's affordable and fresh. I like most of the special rolls, but I always request that he "goes easy" on the sauces. I personally don't like all the mayo stuff, but to each his own. read more

Hardworking couple. Decent sushi. Nothing to write home about. But definitely stick to the sushi. Gyoza is microwaved. Udon was overcooked.

I'm literally writing this review while I'm here.... it is SO GOOD. Let me start with- I worked at one of the top sushi restaurants in Los Angeles for 6 years as a server then a bar tender. Rarely do I write reviews and especially about sushi spots. I would put their fish up against the best. Honestly, the environment of many sushi places can make you think it's better than it is. This place might be in a subway, but it is worth it. If you are considering it, DO IT. Just FYI- I ordered salmon & eel sushi, spicy tuna roll and the volcano roll. Super happy read more

The sushi/sashimi dance was phenomenal and the spicy combo was really great too. Highly highly recommend, reasonably priced... wish they had uni! read more

Sushi Gallery is an amazing spot run by the sweetest couple. I've eaten and taken out from here a couple dozen times in the past year. Their tempura udon is is delicious. Hands down the best I've had. All the sushi is fresh and they have a good Sake selection. Love this place read more

There should be more places like this in every neighborhood. I stop by here a few times a month for takeout / grabbing food on the way home from work. There's no bells & whistles or pretense, which keeps the prices very reasonable for decent neighborhood sushi...no, it's no Sushi of Gari, but it's still reliably and consistently good food. I've also had some of the hot food (such as the bim bim bap), which again, it's not like going to a spot in K-town, but still pretty good. But most importantly, it's run by a very nice couple . - exactly the kind of people you want running small businesses in your neighborhood. They are pretty quiet, but thoughtful - e.g., they usually have a stack of magazines for customers to peruse while you wait (which is never really that long anyways) for your takeout food - and there was one night when it was pouring and the wife saw me standing right outside the restaurant, along with other people who just got off the subway, waiting for the rain to let up - and she came out and offered me an umbrella - she said she knew I would be by soon enough for food and sent me along my way. Very nice people! P.S. They are closed on Sundays - the couple needs a day off! read more

Sushi joint inside a busy subway station? While that may deter you from going in, stop thinking that nonsense! Good things happen when you least expect it.we need to support more of these mom and pop shops. The couple is so friendly and welcoming. What's awesome is that if you're on the go, they have some pre packaged sushi for you to pick up. Price is really reasonable. Spicy tuna/salmon roll for 5 bucks? Bingo. Sushi is fresh and simple. Sure they have the assorted special rolls but if you want something simple as you hustle and bustle on your way in or out of the subway, this place is zen. Yes, I just equated biting into a spicy salmon roll as zen. ::cue the gong:: read more

A hidden gem. Came here two days ago for lunch and returned tonight for dinner. Be prepared to wait a little bit if it's busy, because it's a literal mom and pop restaurant in which an adorable Asian couple does allll the food prep/serving/etc. The miso soup was delicious to start, and the woman serving was attentive (when we came, we were the only ones here). I ordered the spicy tuna roll and the East River roll. Both were amazing. Really worth it for the price you pay. Definitely plan to become a regular! read more

Quite dissapointing, considering the high reviews. Everything was big, and reasonably priced for NYC, but Everything tasted bland and boring. We started of with some apps, which were all mediocre. We also ordered a few sushi roll combos, and a Korean rice and sashimi bowl. The rolls were alright, but the Korean bowl was poor, with bland rice, and strange warm lettuce. Additionally, there were fake crab sticks; never a good sign of a sushi restaurant. Service was fine for new york, we had to get our own soy sauce, and interactions were brief, but our server proactively split checks. 2.5 but I'll bump to 3. read more

I have been eating at sushi gallery for about 10 years now .. by far the best sushi around .. humble husband and wife duo make incredible fresh and delicious sushi ! I've lived in the Heights for a little over 2 years and only recently discovered this gem. Frankly, I avoided this place like the plague as I mistakenly assumed that anything connected to a subway station was infested with the cooties. But one evening, perhaps feeling emboldened by the NYCDOH "A" stamp of approval, I went in and ordered a yellow tail handroll, salmon skin roll and salmon roll. I was seriously blown away by the fresh taste and quality of their fish. Since then I have been ordering take out from them weekly. read more

this out-of-sight sushi place not to call it a restaurant since it does not have the strong scent of a restaurant, serves one of the freshest sushis in town in a cosy atmosphere. Not a top-class one, but never lets you down for what you pay. read more

I can't say much because I've only been here once, but the bibimbap is outstanding...addictive, even. Very reasonably priced. Tiny place, only a few tables, very nice staff. Clean and quiet. Looks like a mom and pop shop. It's NOT in the subway, it's at ground level. read more

Excellent sushi place hidden inside the Clark station of the 2 & 3 subway line. The restaurant is run by its owners who are the ones that cook and serve you. Mom and pop, like they call themselves, are a true example of a well established shop that has build their clientele over the years because of the fresh food they serve and the top quality of the ingredients. The menu is extensive and has a lot of great options that I believe you cannot go wrong with any choice. We ordered four rolls and it was plenty of food for two persons... And we were hungry! All the rolls either simple or special are generous in size and consistent. No falling rice or rolls that dissolve in the soy sauce. You can tell they are very well constructed and they don't skimp ingredients. You get big pieces of sushi and fish. And top quality! We had the Alaska that was bigger in size and ingredients than any other Alaska roll I had in my life. Then the Big Mae is delicious but a little bit overwhelming since it comes with every seafood you can imagine so the five pieces you get are huuuuuuuuuge. Anyway, the flavor is amazing! Then the stars of the meal were both the Firecracker roll and the Tuna Love roll. They were heavy on spiciness but the taste... Oh my god, astonishing!! I guess if you can ask for mild spiciness then it would be a blast! Unless you like a little bit of numbness in your tongue. The grilled step of the Firecracker is a very nice touch and the sweetness of the Tuna on the love roll too. No doubt this is one of the best sushis in town!! read more

their rice bowl with sashimi - hwedupbap - is sooo good. their hot tea and miso soup top it off for a great lunch. It's fresh and savory at the same time. the place is run by a couple, they know what they're doing and they're good at it! read more

Mom and Pop sushi spot. I love it here. really fresh, great prices. They have black rice, which is high in protein which is fun to test out. I had a black rice kimchi roll (owners are Korean) which was a cool snack. These guys kill, I wish they were closer to Cobble Hill. read more

Love this unpretentious mom and pop shop! No Mexican making sushi or deliver take outs just this lovely old Korean couple. Food is good, not the best but the owners and the atmosphere deserves a 5!
