Went out with some couples from the neighborhood on a Saturday night and tried the Sushi Boat for the first time. We went at 8:30 and even though the place was full it wasn't over crowded. The service was great and timely. All in all the sushi was awesome and the rolls were huge! Great value and great sushi... You can always count on a friendly staff and great food whenever you come here. The owner is friendly and makes an effort to check on everyone's table to ensure their dinner is up to par. First thing's first - ask your server if they have Yellow Tail Kama. If they do, order that bad boy right away! Trust me you won't be disappointed. Okay, you might be disappointed if they are all out. But give it a whirl, it is cooked to perfection with a nice ponzu sauce to compliment the fish. My boyfriend and daughter went there for dinner tonight and are both extremely sick They ordered potstickers, edamame was sour and some were frozen. Daughter ordered deep fried spicy California roll with some kind of eel sauce that was sour and the avocado was completely brown and the crab seemed more like crawfish. My boyfriend ordered the California roll and the whole thing fell apart, crab meat was disgusting and pretty sure it was crawfish, brown avocado and the seaweed was sour and old. All of the roll ingredients seemed old and soggy like nothing was fresh and seemed like they were previously made and frozen. Staff was unbelievably rude and pushy when asked simple questions about the menu. When my boyfriend paid they seemed like they weren't going to give him his change until something was said! Best service, excellent food, consistently great and reasonably priced. I really love this restaurant for all it's benefits. Also, great for kids. Tip: if you have kids, ask to be seated in the kids area in back; it's fully stocked with toys and a nice Sony TV. They get 5-stars mostly on service, atmosphere, consistency and great food. I've had better sushi, but this is damn good and the prices are really great. I've eaten here probably 20 times and it's become one of my go-to places. Before this place got all renovated and whatnot, I would've given it 5 stars. But ever since their new location, they have raised their prices way up, and I feel like their quality of food has gone down as well. Their service however, if i could, would receive 5 stars. This has been the "go-to" place for me and my friends up in Temecula because it's right next to the mall, and I've been going here with my friends ever since I moved here. This was the first place that they took me out to eat, so it kind of has some sentimental value. haha Anyway, their food isnt horrible, but there are some items on the menu that I think arent worth it. Like the tempura plate or yakisoba. I remember trying these and the quality was super sucky. like the tempura was covered mostly in batter which what made it look "big" and little shrimps just sprinkled over the rice, like wtf. and then yakisoba was made out of weird ass noodles. Idk. The only think I would get is the sushi rolls or the tonkatsu. Their plates seems rushed sometimes, which is why I try to stay away from this place now. read more

Get me off this boat! I went here for a friend's birthday dinner and had to wait about an hour for a table which was understand because it was a busy night. After eating their sushi, I suspect that the only reason why this place is so crowded is due to their location. The sushi are packed with a hodge podge of ingredients and loads of rice so you can't taste the fish. The rolls are huge but the flavors are overwhelming. Yes, you will be full by the end of the meal but you'll be wondering what the hell you just ate. It was so difficult to taste the fish that I actually broke apart the rolls to sample it on its own. Disappointing. The fish was stale and rubbery. This place is pretty good, The waiter service is great. The booths are a little awkward, the seats are just kinda hard and a little bit uncomfortable. They also give you complimentary edamame (spelling?) and ice cream which is nice. I use to go here a lot in high school and recently came back here, they had moved into a larger space. Staff is really nice! Quick, efficient service. The restaurant is always clean. The prices are just right and they serve edamame before the meal and ice cream at the end of the meal. I usually get the bento box with 2 or 3 options and that comes with a soup and salad. Such a good deal! We love this place :) read more

Went here and a Sunday afternoon. The place was not busy at all. Great service from the hostess and the servers. Never had to wait too long for our food,waters, and getting out check. As far as food goes. I had the Volcano scallop roll. Which was really good. It was too big to take just one bite. Had to cut it in half. But the defeats the purpose since most of the yummy goodness it on top. I also had the lunch/dinner box special. I chose two items. Beef teriyaki and mixed tempura. Beef teriyaki was good while the mixed tempura was just okay. I expected seafood. But All i got was a shrimp and veggies. Maybe a typical "mixed tempura" plate usually just contains veggies. I guess I just expected more seafood. And there probably is a mixed seafood choice and I may not of seen it. Overall this place was great. I little pricey then what I'm use to. Has to be the sushi restaurant I frequent the most. The food is good, very affordable, and it's always my first choice of where to eat when at the mall. They always take care of us. Try the bomb roll; I'm more into the simple rolls and the nigiri. Ice cream at the end is always a plus as well. read more

I've been coming here for years now. This is the first place where I've ordered sushi & actually liked it. The menu offers so many different choices from lunch/dinner box specials, to tons of custom sushi rolls. My personal favorite has to be the bubba roll - I've probably ordered it every single time fore 2 years haha. The chef's are always talkative and it's fun watching them make sushi. The servers are very intuitive to your needs and are very patient when it comes to giving you more time. The hosts usually welcome you with a great smile, sometimes it may seem like they forget that they're the first impression once you walk in though. Overall I love sushi boat. Only thing that might be disappointing is there is no happy hour and the prices have seemed to increase for some reason. But the free strawberry ice cream always makes up for it. First off I'd like to say that prior to this awful experience at sushi boat this place was my favorite sushi spot. I had been a customer for many years and I'd bring in my out of town guests as well. However, on this day I was disappointed with my order the sushi wasn't cooked as usual, my granddaughters order was completely wrong noting she has food allergies and I get over charged for extra drinks. Unfortunately my mistake was not checking my bill prior to handing over my form of payment when I get my receipt to sign I decide to leave a lower tip than usual as I wasn't fully satisfied and I come to realize that that choice has been taken away from me due to the fact that this establishment charges an automatic gratuity of 18%. I went to talk to the owner and I opened with the fact that I just wanted her to hear me out on how wrong it is to take away a customer right to choose how much to tip. After a few words she just didn't care to hear anything I had to say. She told me she had the right to charge an automatic gratuity for parties of 10 then she walked away not letting me say anything else I looked at her server and asked him how many where in my party of course he answered 5 which was correct. I will not be setting foot in this place however for those who do my advice thoroughly check your bill prior to handing over your form of payment. Good luck. read more

Came here and the food was not very good to me at all. To say this about sushi is bad because i enjoy sushi along with my fiance and we both were not happy with the food. His rolls had barley any fish in them. My rolls smelt horrid for a CA roll. Not worth it to come back here and the service is bad. Never coming back here. It went down the drain. read more

Good place if you're into more Americanized sushi. The place doesn't give off an authentic Japanese sushi place, they even have a sushi they named pikachu roll, cute but I'm not about to eat it. We ordered a bento box of sushi and i forgot what roll we ordered (avocado, red snapper--idk but it was huge and yummy). The rolls kinda fell apart as you tried to eat it so alot was not eaten bc it got left behind in the soy sauce. Service was quick. We ordered, ate, and billed out in 30 minutes bc we were trying to make a movie (i know me and the bf are fatties haha). First off, I come here a lot. This place is great for affordable, yummy sushi. If you're looking for high quality, there are better places, but for the price its not really fair to expect 5 star fish. I normally get the luch boxes because they have a lot of combinations you can choose, and they give you a little bit of everything you love. I haven't actually had many rolls here because I'm more of a purist when it comes to my fish (mainly nigiri or simple makis), but they all look really good and I've liked the few I have tried. My only real complaint about Sushi Boat is that the service is a little funky. Usually 3 different people will ask for my drink/food order before one of them realizes that someone already got it, so I think they just need better organization. Other than that, they are always super polite and usually throw in some free ice cream. Can't complain there! read more

This place gets 5 stars, and I will tell you why. The price is the best I have seen for sushi. Really cheap prices, beats out Woomi's pricing easily. And they don't sacrifice in other areas for it. The restuarant is clean, the decor is entertaining, the sushi itself is mouthwatering. Everytime I go I have the oysters and they are always perfect. Another great one is the oyster shots. This is no shot. It is a martini glass of tasty pleasure. The staff is extraordinarly friendly. The owners are very hands on and friendly, always making sure our experience is great.
