LOVEEE! The espresso martinis are so good. I got regular and my friend got a hazelnut. I am shocked I don't have to wait or make reservations for Surlas. Always amazing food, drinks, and service.

Absolutely amazing. My husband and I were going to Dustbowl brewery and last minute changed our mind and I will forever be grateful. Walking in to hear live music drew me in immediately. The staff was so friendly and immediately available. I personally like to eat pretty light and it's hard to find food that isn't bland when looking for clean, but they hit every number. From their ahi tuna poke to their cauliflower crust chicken pesto pizza I was impressed. New favorite date night place ever.

Went to Surla's for a friend's birthday, we were a party of 8 I believes Staff was very accommodating, took wonderful care of our table, making sure we were all good, if we needed more drinks, etc. Wonderful atmosphere, awesome service, the food is SO GOOD! Everything from appetizers to entrees, my compliments to the chef!

Been here a couple times for their ayce Sunday brunch, and it's been well worth it. This spot has a nice decor, fine dining feel to it. The food during their monthly ayce brunch is amazing. When we got there, there was a line waiting outside. Everyone was courteous other than some customers behind us who skipped the line to say they had a reservation and told the staff where they wanted to be seated. We ALSO had a reservation but were politely waiting our turn in line (we were second in line). Unfortunately, the staff seated the other customers that skipped the line before the others who waited in line, regardless if they had a reservation or not. As far as the food goes, everything Tasted fresh, good flavor, lots of variety. They have an omelet station, crepe station and carving station, along with salads, desserts and hot item menus. They seemed to be either short on staffing and/or had new staffing because the line for the omelet bar was long, however, the staff was very kind and apologetic. The cook was having difficulty making the omelets, but I didn't mind the wait. With that being said, there wasn't anyone else available to carve the meat or make the crepes other than the one cook. The staff was still very polite and attentive. They were quick to refill our drinks. I'll definitely be going back.

Sushi restaurant or a nightclub?…read more My friend and I decided to go for a night out Downtown. When we arrived at about 7:00pm, we were told there would be about an hour wait. Despite this long wait, there were actually quite a few empty tables, but was overall still very busy. When you put yourself on the waitlist, they notify you through text when your table is ready. This gave us ample time to walk around Downtown while we waited. When we received the table-ready text (just short of an hour later), we were sat quickly in a nice U-shaped booth. This seating arrangement felt a bit awkward for a party of two, especially if you are sharing food. The booth is too big to be sitting close enough to reach but too small to not feel awkward. It is perfect for people watching though since the booths face the entire restaurant. By this time, the restaurant was completely packed, with just about every booth, table, and barstool occupied. Our waiter came quickly to take our drink orders. We got a Cucumber Martini and an Espresso Martini. The Cucumber Martini was incredibly light and refreshing. The Espresso Martini was not impressive. It didn't have a strong espresso flavor and was rather watery, but still alright. This is the type of restaurant, that especially on busy nights like this where they don't accept reservations, you should allocate a lot of time for the dinner service for. There is a significant time gap between each time the waiter comes around to take your order. There was probably 15-20 minutes between placing our drink, appetizer, and meal orders. This was not a problem for us, but if you are eating here before making a show at the Gallo Center, this may be something to consider. For our appetizer, we ordered the Salmon Ceviche. It was insanely good. It was subtly spicy and citrusy. The chips that came with it were light and not oily at all. I wish the portion was larger because the two of us swallowed it up in just a few bites. For our entree, we got the Salmon Tataki and Goodi Rolls to split. They were both very good and came out on a lovely platter. They tasted very fresh and high quality. The prices here are on the higher side but is nice for a special occasion or splurge. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often. He was super friendly too. The restaurant was super lively. They were playing club music which was totally a vibe. It looked like this was the spot people hit before going out for the night. I noticed they were accommodating for both small and large parties, serving both rather quickly. I'll be back!

I think these days it's hard to find a meal deal for this price with this portion size. I had ordered the Orange Chicken. My meal came with a ton of fried rice (I opted for no chow mein) and plenty of meat. I actually didn't finish the rice and soup, I was pretty full by the end. The fried rice wasn't too bad, pretty standard. The soup a tad bland but it was OK. I wish the egg roll came out the same time as the rest of the food but I'm guessing they forgot it initially. Anyways it was piping hot when it came out with a nice crisp. As for the chicken itself, the sauce wasn't really spicy although it had the spicy symbol. And I wish it was more crunchy, it was mostly lacking in crunch with just a couple of pieces being decently crunchy. I had expected this would happen because I thought it came out way too quick. As for service, there were 2 people ahead of me in line I believe and after the woman working the counter finished up with them, I was promptly seated. She was always smiling and was very pleasant the whole time. As for the interior, there was plenty of seating and tables and it was clean enough. The positives: great price/portion size lunch deal, quick and pleasant service. The negatives: need better timing and crunchier orange chicken.

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon (it was almost 3PM when we entered), you're met with a check-in counter. The inside is decorated much like a typical Chinese restaurant: round tables w a lazy susan, dark moody carpet, and infrastructure/roof tiling on the back wall that makes it look like we're dining right outside a traditional cafe in China. We were quickly seated and brought a regular menu and a dim sum menu. I liked that the dim sum menu contained pictures for easy point and order. But instead of pointing like a normal person, I brought out my broken Canto to order and I think I impressed uncle enough to get a complimentary bowl of egg flower soup lol. We ended up ordering: - Orange chicken lunch special: this comes with white rice or you can upgrade to fried rice or chow mein for an extra dollar. SO upgraded to chow mein and the plate that came out was HUGE. Was not expecting such a large portion, but I am not complaining at all. The chicken was sauced perfectly and he said the noodles were aight. - Ha gow (shrimp dumpling): these had thicker wrapping, but the dumplings themselves were stuffed. Good flavor - Shu mai (pork and shrimp dumpling): meaty, yummy. The skins sorta stuck to the bottom container though - Fong zhao (chicken feet): super delicious, but only came with 3 measly claws - Ham sui gok (fried glutinous rice pork dumpling): fried mochi goodness with delicious meat filling (even if the filling was a little sparse) - Gou choy gow (chive dumpling): my personal favorite dim sum dish; the one here was not my favorite, but it did its job. - Salt and pepper pork spareribs: we ordered this as an alternative when they told me they were out of their pineapple custard bun (bolo bao)... don't ask me how I went from dessert to this, but I liked it. The meat was kinda thin, but the flavor was there. We happened to have our meal right when the staff was having theirs right behind us. So by the time we were ready for the check, we kind of sat around waiting for someone to check on us. Our total came to about $60. I noticed that 2 of the dim sum dishes were marked as "large", at about $6.10 per dish. I wish this was posted on the dim sum menu somewhere... I only saw the $5.50 price tag. Overall, Dynasty Garden nostalgically reminds me of home, so I would definitely return.
