Bella Italia has been our go to place for Italian food for years in Western Plaza. Seating arrangement is cozy and probably can seat 60 people. We ate on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few tables occupied. Staff has always been cordial and friendly and comes plenty of time to check if we needed more bread, water or a refill on sodas. My favorite dish to get is the chicken marsala and it's always been flavorful and a balance with its fresh vegetables. Highly recommended. 5 stars This time we decided to get a 10 inch small pizza and chose the all meat one with pepperoni, salami and sausage. Pizza was loaded with toppings and since the pizza is thin in the center, it tends not limp when getting a slice. 4 stars My wife got the lasagna and she ate maybe 1/4 of it. I've had this place on my to try list for a while. My dad and I decided to finally try it. We walked in around 5 and got seated really fast. Our server was named Sergio which obviously I thought was nice. He was on top of our table. My dad will go through around six glasses of water a sitting and he constantly had his glass filled. Regarding our food it tasted great. Also we ordered a lot and expected our bill to be really high but we were shocked with how low it was. The one thing they can improve on is the decor. I've been bringing my Momma here, when Im in town, for years. The food is delicious, it smells amazing the moment you walk in the door. I like that its in a slower part of town, less chaos, great options on the menu and they always accommodate my no dairy allergy. It's my go- to spot for steamed clams. We just loved the service. We were seated straight away. They have a nice wine list. Our server knew the menu well and was fast but we never felt rushed. I would make a reservation. We were there on a weekday and ate early so we were in great shape. Most of the food we had was great. The minestrone soup was just perfect. We also loved our salads. I had the chicken marsala and it was just so melt in your mouth wonderful and packed with yummy mushrooms. We also had the ravioli in a white sauce that was so good. I would get that again. Finally, we had fried ravioli and it was good, not great. That I will not try again. There is just too much thick crust for me, but you might love it. The ravioli within the crust was very good. Understanding that they don't take reservations but were when I called was assured that if we arrived early, say 4:30, on Valentine's Day we wouldn't have a problem being seated. We did arrive at 4:30. The restaurant was quite full but we still saw a few vacant tables. We stood for a few minutes until a waitress looked at us. I asked for a table for two. Before she could respond, an incredibly rude man came up I explained that I had called for a reservation and before I could say anything, he very rudely said "we don't take reservations, it will be an hour wait." I said there are a few empty tables and he said, an hour wait. We turned and left. We have eaten at Bella Italia many times in the past and have never, ever had such a rude, nasty experience. There were a lot of good foods listed on their menu and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted at first. I ended up going for the shrimp scampi. My boyfriend got the chicken saltimbocca. Hair baked in the pizza 8/21/24 Called to request a refund just for the large Hawaiian pizza. We order a big order from our Rep. The first person we spoke to stated no worries we will get that back on the card. Within 2 min I received a called from the owner stating I needed to bring the pizza back to get refunded. My dad ordered the house salad with blue cheese dressing and my mom ordered the clam chowder. My mom raved about the chowder. We ordered the lobster ravioli, artichoke ravioli, and the lasagna. Both raviolis were super delicious! The sauces were very creamy and flavorful. The artichoke hearts and mushrooms in the cream sauce were very tender. So I was given a gift card from my bestie to try this place. I was excited to try Bella Italia based on reviews. It's been on my radar for a minute now. I also ordered 1 cioppino , 1 margherita pizza for my oldest. And a grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo for my youngest.I also ordered a bowl of minestrone soup. While we waited for our food they brought bread with some kind of cheese butter. I asked for fresh garlic for the bread, in the Bay Area it's complementary at all the restaurants I've been to. But my man said he saw the waitress putting on our bill so asked if there was a charge. She said there was. So we chose to go without. We didn't have to wait long for our food. 1st came the minestrone soup. I shared with my family and everyone enjoyed it!! My man gave the cioppino a solid 8. I ordered a family meal for a friend and their family that was ill. I ordered spaghetti family meal a chicken parmigiana family meal.... I did not expect a feast!!!!!!! They have a wide variety but the flavors are basics. The brunch menu is vast but we have gotten upset stomach's afterwards & thought it might have gotten us sick. This place gets 5 stars all around from us! It's small, which we love. Service was outstanding; attentive, offered suggestions, and checked back frequently. Food was delicious. As you can see, the portions are very generous and we had plenty to take home for later! The way they cooked the chicken was perfection for this dish, I can't wait to try the piccata next.
