Elegant ambience, made reservations and got seated quickly. Enjoyed wine , 2 meals which was the salmon and roasted chicken. Absolutely delicious ! And dessert Highly recommend this place. Everything came out to be about 130$. Not bad for an elegant dinner for 2

If you're looking for destination worthy Italian Resturant in Modesto, Galletto delivers the full experience. It has beautiful grounds, art lined pathways, and polished service to match fabulous food. We started with the Mixed Greens Salad (organic greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, seasonal vinaigrette) was crisp, bright, and perfectly dressed. My entrée, the Vegetarian Risotto, was creamy and comforting with grains cooked just right and hot. I ate every bite. I had the Chocolate Mousse Cake (gluten-free). A rich and silky finale to a delicious meal. The ambiance is exceptional: * The Wine Vault -- a striking space that highlights the building's past life as a bank vault. * Vine Arbor -- live vines drape from the pergola for a gorgeous al-fresco feel. * Full-size Bocce Ball court -- large, fun and unexpected. * Downstairs dining -- a dramatic, castle-like setting that's stunning for special occasions. Service was stellar from start to finish. I complimented our server to the manager, who then surprised us with a brief tour of the property. It was such a thoughtful touch that reflects the pride they take in hospitality. Ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and it shows in every bite. I'm not in Modesto often, but when I am, I'll absolutely return to Galletto for its winning trio of great food, great service, and transportive atmosphere. I've not been to Italy yet but this place has me wanting to go. Highly recommended.

My anniversary dinner at Galletto in Modesto started beautifully, with an ambiance that truly impressed. Initially, the service was amazing, making us feel welcomed and attended to. We started with the fried miso Frito and scallops, both delicious and promising for the meal ahead. For my entree, I chose the surf and turf special, featuring a fillet and scallops accompanied by a unique potato dish, reminiscent of scalloped potatoes, and asparagus. While the scallops were a highlight, the fillet didn't quite meet expectations, falling short of the best I've had. The asparagus was overly charred, which unfortunately detracted from the dish. The potatoes, though visually stunning, couldn't compensate for the other shortcomings. As the evening progressed, the service noticeably declined. After finishing our meal, we were left unattended for over 15 minutes. This lapse was disappointing, especially on a special occasion like our anniversary, and it deterred us from ordering dessert. Overall, the food was tasty, but the small portions and high prices didn't quite align with the experience. Despite hearing rave reviews, I left feeling a bit let down.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience! Jo our fabulous server ensured we had an excellent time! Also the food and ambiance was on point. We started with a manhattan and a glass of pinto Gris and the truffle Mac and cheese which was delicious and came with a very generous portion, then came out our main orders the chicken risotto which was somewhat new for spring, as as well as the lobster pasta, with a glass of Chianti all of which didn't disappoint. Also of note the chicken was so well prepared, presented snd cooked, definitely some high quality ingredients and an experienced chef cooking it. We're both in the industry and have seen the good bad and a lot in between in food service and it's hard to make a restaurant experience as good as this was. It was well worth the visit for us an hour drive and it really was a treat!

Easy recommendation! I had heard so many good things about Galleto Ristorante, that I was a little scared it would not live up to expectations when I decided to have my birthday dinner here. But thankfully, Galleto Ristorante surpassed my expectations! The service was top-tier, the food was fantastic, and the cocktails were superb. The inside of the restaurant is a vibe, and I look forward to sitting on the patio in a future visit. The ambiance works well if you are celebrating a special occasion. There is a nice little bar and seating area if you want to grab quick after-work drinks, or a fast bite to eat. Honestly, Galleto Ristorante is the easiest of choices if you are in the Modesto area, and I see why it is so highly recommended. Cheers!

I hands down believe this to be the best and nicest place for dinner in Modesto. If you are going out to celebrate an occasion, or looking to impress someone, take them here. I came with my friend to celebrate her birthday and they had happy birthday printed on the menu for us! It's those little touches. Because the service here all away around is worth the price you spend. Plus the food matches that! I am VERY picky and our server, Freddy, was so great at accommodating my requests! I order the filet mignon, asked for the leanest piece they had and just simply grilled without oil or butter. For sides I had the charred broccolini (plain without butter/oil) and simply boiled marbled potatoes. All cooked to absolute perfection!! The filet had absolutely no gristle...I just wish it had been a bit more rare in the middle, but I didn't want to send it back because I had already been so picky! And the charred broccolini! Wow!! That has such a great char flavor. The potatoes were creamy and perfect even though all they did was boil them. I ate almost my entire plate (minus a few potato). My friend just got back from Italy and she had never been here before. She ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and said it was so good she would have no problem eating the whole bowl. Us girls cleaned our plates here!! And they brought out a sweet little cup of vanilla bean ice cream for her birthday too! Five stars all around from service to food to ambiance. My favorite restaurant in Modesto!

4.5/5: Service is excellent. If it wasnt for Service, I probably would be scored it closer to 4 this time. I had the Short Ribs and it was a little dry and didnt have any glaze in mine if you look at the picture. I still enjoy it but not as good as before. I tried my friend's Steak salad and the steak is well done so I definitely didnt like it. The wines were good. We went with Cabs. I got the Malta? I think, our waiters rec and I also tried Wild Horse cab which my friend ordered and wild Horse was a little more drier and I preferred the Malta. I'd still be back. Will see. I was really looking forward to the juicy short ribs and they were dry this time.

I went to this place yesterday with my friend for dessert, since my friend had been here, and she and my co-workers in the past had said good things about it. Food: their desserts are delicious.. we had a lemon blueberry pie.. it was phenomenal , and peach cobbler cheesecake was good as well. Drinks: espresso martini was strong and delicious. Service: Dulce is a sweetheart. And their manager Cal.. short for cambell. He is a gem, oh my was this guy the sweetest. We felt like a celebrity. I have to go back for main course. Taylor..is the owner who I didn't get to meet, but the staff of this place is Premium... I am going back again for sure. Thank you for opening a wonderful place with excellent service. Their other servers were cute and kind as well.

My husband and I decided to try a new (to us) restaurant for our 36'th anniversary, and we were SO glad that we did! From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff was attentive and extremely solicitous, even wishing us a happy anniversary as they seated us. The ambiance was very pleasant, and I loved the rustic decor in the spacious dining area. Our waiter, whose name we've unfortunately forgotten (but he's been married 16 years), was always ready to assist us, without being intrusive, a testament to his level of skill as a waitstaff. He even brought us celebratory sparkling cider to sip while we waited for our meal. We ordered from a menu that had "Happy Anniversary " written on it, which made us feel special, even though I'm sure they have those printed out to give to all the couples celebrating their special day-but kudos to management for offering such a personal detail to make the guest's experience so wonderful. Speaking of management, the manager on duty at the time of our visit, went around the room greeting everyone and asking how their dining experience was going. We got our food in a timely manner, although, after tasting it, I would have happily waited even longer for just a bite of that heavenly morsel! I ordered the braised short ribs over Parmesan polenta, with caramelized cippolini onions and an extremely flavorful veal sauce. My hubby ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. After I took my first bite, I literally moaned in pleasure as the amazing flavors tickled my tongue. The short ribs were fork tender, the polenta was the perfect texture and the Parmesan flavor was subtle, with a perfect marriage of flavor between it and the veal sauce! Don't even get me started on those amazingly creamy and perfectly caramelized cippolini onions! SO GOOD!!! I can only eat a few bites at a time before becoming extremely full to the point of becoming ill, so I was VERY sad when my traitorous tummy said, "whoa there, time to stop eating!" I did NOT want to stop, it was that good!!! Even though I knew I couldn't eat another bite, I went ahead and ordered dessert, and I'm SO glad that I did! They had such a nice variety from which to choose, and after a bit of back and forth between my tummy and my brain, I settled on the lemon blueberry pie. They brought it to me and is was a visual feast for my eyes. It even had a perfectly tempered oval of chocolate with "Happy Anniversary " airbrushed on it with edible ink. What a wonderful touch! I went ahead and took a small bite (it was just too appealing to pass up!), and smiled happily as the perfect balance between tart and sweet danced upon my tastebuds. (There was more moaning involved.) My husband, who isn't even a fan of custard, took a bite and nodded his head appreciatively and said, "Wow! That's amazing!". This is DEFINITELY our new go to restaurant! We used to go to Tresetti's for all of our special occasions, but Galletto has won the top spot as far as we're concerned! I cannot recommend this place highly enough!! The food is incredible, the service wonderful, and the prices are actually very reasonable considering the quality of food and service. Please give it a try, you will NOT be sorry!

Came here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible. I had the ravioli and she had a shrimp pasta dish and both were spot on. Big props to the chef. Our server, an Indian gentleman, was professional, helpful, and even recommended some solid cocktails. The atmosphere is perfect with candlelight on the tables and great art around the restaurant. This place is a hidden gem in Modesto. Guys, bring your wives or girlfriends, you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back.

We called an hour before arrival during Memorial Weekend and were able to make a reservation for the outdoor patio, which was lovely! From the prime rib to the bolognese, dinner was delicious. Kudos to the bartender as well for our cocktails, excellent pour! Our server was really sweet, attentive and gave great recommendations. We had a great experience!

I can't eat a lot at one time, so despite some adverse reviews I'd seen online about the fried calamari and shrimp, I went ahead and ordered it-and I'm so glad I did! It was hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked-not greasy at all! My hubby had the meatball sub-despite it not really being available during dinner hours, but he's not really a fan of pasta, so the waitress (and chef) kindly made special accommodations for him. We didn't ask, they helpfully offered to do so. Hubby said the red sauce was really good, and he enjoyed the sandwich. I felt bad because they appeared short staffed for the amount of business they had, and they had run out of a few things, but the pressed on gamely and made the best of it. All of the staff was kind and very helpful. We will definitely be going back again soon! I want to try the yummy sounding seafood risotto.

It's quieter and less busy. You can tell the staff take pride in cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant. The pasta is definitely fresh/ homemade. I disagree STRONGLY with the other review that suggested it's pasta-roni style sauce. The ingredients are fresh and food was good. We've tried the Rigatoni, Gnocchi, Lasagna, Fettuccine, Lobster Ravioli, Mango Panna Cotta, and Torta Al Cioccolato and their fresh hot bread; all were enjoyable. When we've come the staff took some time to tell us a bit about the family history- passed along traditions and it's clear the recipes as well. This is a family-oriented legacy for these folks. And there's honor in that. If you're into just food, vibes, and low prices- this is NOT your venue. This is a place to celebrate a family (the owners) sharing a bit of themselves with you and yours. Note- people who complain typically mention price without thinking it's not just the food cost, but the lease, utilities, the insurance, staff wages. You're not going to get out to dinner here less than $60 for 2 (with a nominal tip and no booze). But THATS THE POINT- I'm thankful for the care, time, and heart that is put into each dish. We will be back and share this oddly-located, pretty tasty place with our friends and family.

It was Cesar's first time there, and I told him he wouldn't be disappointed. When the food came out, his portion was noticeably taller than the others, but I didn't think much of it at first. As we started eating, I noticed both Misha and Cesar pushing most of the pasta aside. When I looked closer, the majority of the dish seemed to be mostly ricotta cheese. Neither of them ate more than a few bites before stopping altogether. I politely let the waitress know the lasagna just didn't seem like the quality we were used to. She immediately took the plates to the back and brought us the bill, still charging for all three dishes. I asked if I could speak with the manager, and she told me she was the manager. I explained that we were simply disappointed with the meal and would have gladly shown what the issue was, but she told me the dishes had already been thrown away. She said she had shown the chef and that he makes it the same way every time. She eventually removed two of the lasagnas from the bill, but then came back and said the chef's response was, "If you never come back again, that's fine." That honestly surprised me more than the food itself. I've owned a business for 30 years, and I can't imagine ever responding to a customer that way, especially a returning one. I'm not writing this out of anger -- just genuine disappointment. We had always enjoyed coming here, but after tonight, unfortunately, we won't be returning.
