Walking around Rome , we stumbled across this spot. Little shop, long line, my wife had heard of it so we stopped. Had a couple pizza slices and a couple regular suppli. Different delicious snack. Google it for directions, its worth stroll.

It was crooowded up in here!!

If you go in and choose blindly, I'm sure you'll come out with something you will really like. I mean that's essentially what I did. I just pointed to things I saw that looked good, got things all wrapped up nicely to go, and ate really delicious suppli, pizza and pasta. On a Friday afternoon this line was 30 person deep and quite frankly not moving fast enough to quell hunger. When I finally got into the shop it seemed like pandemonium with each staff member taking orders, and running back and forth behind an L-Shaped counter. The customer footprint was really tight, and to be honest elbow to elbow, but not as vicious as the NYC Subway during rush hour. This was a pleasant crowd and the staff were working hard. The conversation seemed endless and the primary language spoken was Italian to which I was at a huge disadvantage. But I pulled out the trusted universal language of the pointed finger and I was able to get most of the items I wanted. All my items were wrapped quickly and I was on my way to search for a place to eat. Once to get your goodies, you are on your own to find a spot to eat. There was nothing nearby so I walked further until I found a bench near a bus stop. True to their name, the suppli here is fantastic! These crunchy oval shaped risotto filled snack, with a touch of tomato sauce, was the first thing I ate when I got off the plane and every time I needed a snack in Rome. I loved the ones with meat or without. Can someone tell me why we have suppli's like this back in NYC? The pizza needless to say was also delicious. I couldn't finish the rigatoni pasta for lunch but it was so good I toted it around and ate it after my dinner! Definitely visit!

AMAZING, everything is delicious! Great service and staff. Small location, no line when I got there but I'm sure it gets busy. Worth it!

The most amazing food! This was my favorite spot in Rome. It's a small order at the counter place. For the pizza, you pay by weight instead of slice. Our favorite was the red sauce pizza, it just came out of the oven when we ordered it. Thin, flavorful, and delicious. We also tried the ceci de pepe and lemon supplis. AMAZING! I've never had these before and they are now my new favorite food. The lemon in particular was so good. This is a very local spot. The staff is friendly and efficient. We came on a Saturday evening and it was packed. There were a lot of food tours that stopped through. We also came on a weekday afternoon and lucked out with just a short line. After you order at the counter and pay there is a small standing area outside where you can eat. Most people stand around to enjoy their food and a beer. It's a great environment and a true experience. I will be recommending this place to anyone who visits Rome!

Suppli is a hidden gem in Rome for delicious snacks specifically, as their name implies, the Suppli. This snack is phenomenal and addictive! A savory ball of al dente risotto is mixed with flavorful tomato sauce and gooey mozzarella and covered in perfectly crisp breading. If you are in Rome, please do yourself a favor and make a visit to Suppli.

Suppli was great. Very quick and the food taste great! I recommend the caoi de Pepe lemon. Yummmmm.

Delicious and authentic Italian street food. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was cozy. I'm glad we stopped by to try their delicious supplì.

Who doesn't love suppli? The best suppli is definitely at Suppli! I tried the cacio Pepe and the Classico and with a cold Peroni- great little bite of a Roman snack!

Absolute banger from Rome the Arancini here is grade A Amazing. It's like Olive Garden but somehow even better

Crack. Crack. Crack. Never had or even heard of suppli before arriving in Rome. These little fried breaded nuggets of tomato, cheesy deliciousness are incredibly addictive. Crack Crack Crack. This place in trastevere is always busy (good sign). Lots of different suppli varieties - for example, cacio e pepe, one filled with pork, etc but nothing beats the original in my opinion. My stomach is going to turn into one giant suppli. But I'm ok with it.

Best suppli in Roma! You have to try the cacio e pepe suppli if you go! It is usually 2 euro or less.

Small spot in Trastevere with more locals than expected. Many options for pizza where you pick your sizes. Also a wide fried food selection.

We made a reservation online, arrived about 20 minutes early, and they gladly sat us right down. While we were there we noticed plenty of locals eating, chatting with the servers in Italian, and having a blast, which is always a green flag. The menu leans traditional Roman; extensive, with plenty of pasta, meats, and fish. The supplì classico and the cacio e pepe one were both phenomenal. We also had the all'amatriciana and carbonara, and both were divine. After a week traveling through Europe, my husband said this was his favorite meal and restaurant of the trip. It was a top one for me too. We also ordered the oxtail; delicious, but I'm not sure I'd get it again since you get two pieces that are mostly bone. I know that's just how oxtail is, but I was expecting a little more. The panna cotta for dessert was a great choice too. Service was fine, nothing to write home about, but honestly I appreciated how rough around the edges it was. They kept it real; don't come expecting fancy restaurant service. This is a place you go to for authentic food and flavors. We sat outside on the sidewalk, great for people watching, though they had plenty of space inside and even multiple floors. Oh, and the house wine was delicious and a great deal. Our entire meal only came to €70, the cheapest dinner we had in Italy. Definitely try it if you're in Rome.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

The bufala pizza is AMAZING and unlike anything I have ever tried in America. I will make my sad attempts to recreate it, but nothing is better than the real thing. The service is impeccable, it was super hot and they had this sprinkler thing attached to the umbrella that sprayed customers to keep us cool! The campari spritz also hit the spot! I will be back here next time I am in Italy! First time, we were staying in Piazza Novona, so it was pretty close, but the second time we booked it for 35 minutes in 90 degree weather to go there. Also, they give complimentary cherry wine drinks at the end. :) Also, this is my 100th review- wooohooo :)

For example, there were many dishes like "cheese ravioli" that indicated a fish allergy. After checking they said there wasn't fish, but they need to make sure their allergens are accurate. Anyways, the service was a it slow but everyone was friendly. The meatballs were pretty good, but the cacio Pepe was a bit bitter, I think because of the sauce they use. Our family of four was waiting to be seated when a local family of four arrived after us and was seated immediately. We were eventually seated right next to them, and they were served bread while we were ignored and received none. We ordered wine that was never brought to the table, and at one point a waiter who was not even serving us removed our wine glasses after we had already ordered the wine. The service throughout the meal was chaotic and rude. The artichoke dish was extremely bland -- no seasoning and no flavor at all. Most of the food was greasy and disappointing. To make matters worse, we were seated directly next to the kitchen where the cooks and waiters were loudly arguing throughout our meal. We understand that service in Italy is often slower and more relaxed, and we have enjoyed wonderful hospitality everywhere else during our trip. However, this was by far the worst service we experienced anywhere in Italy. We were even asked if we wanted the bill before we had finished eating, while the local family next to us remained seated comfortably long after finishing their meal. We left feeling unwelcome and discriminated against. Unfortunately, this restaurant seemed interested only in serving locals well. If you are not Italian, do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere. We absolutely do not recommend this place.

We split a salad that was big enough for a meal, my wife had the bolognese, and I had the steak. It was super rare, but as I cut into it, I would lay it onto the stone to allow it to cook a bit more. I like it on the lean side of medium rare and my wife prefers a bit more. This was perfect for us to both enjoy it the way we like. Her pasta was excellent as well and we enjoyed sharing the meal. A bottle of wine topped off a great dinner. The weather was rainy so we opted to sit inside and it was warm and welcoming. Our waiter was helpful with our choices and we enjoyed his observations. The only thing I can say that was off, was the older woman who was paying her bill before me was pressured into leaving a tip ( service charge, is what he said). I was prepared for that but was not asked to tip. Great meal, we enjoyed it immensely, but the service charge that was scammed out of the 70+ year old lady in front of me kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. He was upset with the host because he had burned the plastic on the outdoor tent as he had placed a heater too close to it. It is a large restaurant and was full of lively patrons. The indoor decor is warm and inviting. The first thing I noticed was the camaraderie between the waitstaff - everyone seemed to get along, helped each other and were having fun. We had 2 wonderful Filipino waiters. One had the same Ray-Ban meta glasses as my husband, which they bonded over. We ordered the bombolotti carbonara and lasagna-both delicious. For the mains, grilled Turbot (which was perfectly de-boned tableside) and meatballs w/ mashed potatoes. While the waiter was de-boning the fish, the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver came on overhead. My husband and I both looked at each other and smiled, thinking WTH?! I asked the waiter, "did we tell you we were from West Virginia?" and he smiled and shook his head. But later confessed, he played it for us (I guess we did tell him, lol). It made our night. Rome was the last city in our multi-city 12 day tour and we loved every minute but we were looking forward to going home. Hearing "Country Roads" at a popular and busy restaurant a block away from the Spanish Steps blew our minds. A young couple sat next to us for a quick snack, I asked her what she ordered (it looked delicious) and she said "Im from a different part of Italy but come here just for their artichokes". A few minutes later, I saw a plate full of artichokes pass by, being brought to a table outside. They made my mouth water. Al 34 was one of our favorite restaurants in Italy -- wonderful food (extensive menu), very lively with a mixed crowd (lots of Asians, English speakers and native Italians). It is a fun place to go and the wait staff is one of the reasons I will be coming back. I cant wait to try their artichokes! If you see the word, carciofo (artichoke), order it!
