I love this place. Definitely more affordable in person. Finally made it. I usually get door dash because it is half an hour from my house. Very yummy and unique recipes. The shop is very cute. I love the decor and the music. The reward app seems like a pain but that is my only complaint. I had a purple reign iced small and an avocado toast no red pepper flakes (because of my sensitive stomach). Both are very good the purple reign is ube flavor (purple sweet potato if you didn't know) I love this drink as it has all the things. Ube, prince reference, purple, coffee... what more could you ask for? The avocado toast comes with arugula, parmesan, avocado, red pepper flakes, and sour dough all yummy (though I don't usually want sour dough. Great way to start the day.
Love the Purple Reign and love potion #9. friend got the huckleberry latte and loved it. always a great on a busy monday
Recently met up with a friend here and I loved it! My favorite coffee drinks are specialty lattes and they have a menu full of these drinks! I went with one of their seasonal specials, the Love Potion #9 which has horchata espresso and cinnamon. It was delicious! Not overly sweet but enough to taste all the unique flavors. My friend and I both came here with babies and it was nice that they had plenty of space to hang out. The inside has high top tables, low top tables, and even some couches. There is a massive chalk board wall that my daughter enjoying playing with. The barista was super friendly and loved that we brought our babies with us! She even let us know that they have a changing table in the bathroom if we need to use it which was very kind. I came back a second time a few days after my first visit and tried another drink off their seasonal menu, this time it was an iced Lover's Latte which is a raspberry macchiato with milk, espresso, and housemade cold foam. This was such a refreshing drink and one I would absolutely order again. Both of my drinks were 5 stars, so I'll definitely be back!
We had a good visit today. There weren't that many people because I t was probably around noon. They have good coffee, and they served it really quickly. The coffee was delicious, and the girl was very friendly. The price is about as much as it is at big-name places, but it is a local business.
A cute coffee stop where you can get good coffee varieties and some food choices as well. The sandwiches are bagels with a few different veggie options. The server was friendly and answered all our questions. Good place to sit and visit (or work) with it being fairly quiet.
After getting some bloodwork this morning was in need of my coffee fix after fasting 12 hours! Was a quiet morning here which was fine with me. Got right in and was greeted by a very friendly barista and ordered. I got a hot hazelnut latte, sugar free with oat milk. It was perfect and just what I craved this morning! Definitely recommend this cute local coffee spot over the "big guys". Nice and comfy sofa to sit on if you're inclined to stay awhile to enjoy your drink or pastry.
Purple rain is my absolute favorite drink rn, iced or hot, I love ittt! the decorations in the shop is so original & they change it during holidays, perfect seating & charging ports for when studying. They often are not fully staffed, but Kathy is amazing!
Found this place a while back, but I just got the chance to try it out finally! As a coffee and tea lover, I love finding new places to try. It has a very relaxed and chill environment with unique decorations. I would totally go and chill there and read or study while I drink coffee or tea. They also have some food items on the menu. Service was amazing, and they were very patient with me as I was indecisive! How could I not? They had a lot of different flavors, and I wanted to try them all. But since I couldn't, I had to choose one. I will definitely be going back to try out the other flavors!
A quick shout out for a small under rated business. I was on my way out of town when I noticed I left my mug full of coffee at home. I do not frequent coffee shops like I used to, primarily because a good cup of coffee is hard to find in most coffee bars. When it comes to coffee I am a purist at heart - Just a hot cup of black coffeeI. This is more difficult to find than you may think. I was driving through Golden Valley heading towards US Highway 395 when I remembered seeing Superstitious Java close to the Highway. Not knowing what I was getting myself into, I pulled in not having any high expectations for a cup of coffeeI. It is a very cozy small shop relying on selling drinks above all else. There were about 6 bakery ítems on a tall think case and a a few other edibles one can purchase. They had a medium roast coffee, name unknown by the barista. I bought a 16 ouncer and was on my way. About a minute later I took a sip, a second sip, and one more. Surprisingly amazing taste. Best tasting coffee I have bought in a coffee bar in years. A hint of citrus and the right amount of acidity. Kudos to the barista and to the owners for focusing on providing a very decent coffee product to its customers. I look forward to my second and consequent visits to Superstitions Java in Golden Valley. Plenty of parking. Competitive prices, friendly staff and a damn good cup of coffee.
A cute little coffee shop nestled between all the new shops and housing when heading out to the stead area. The ambience is that of a witchy/goth vibe. They offer plenty of snacks and small bites while you sip on your caffeine of choice. They do the usual hot, iced and frappes with a witchy twist. The guy running the counter while I was in was quick and helpful, letting us know the differences between drinks or those that were no longer on the menu. It's a cute place to take your morning of afternoon nice and slow.
I came here with some friends as it was recommended to me by a coworker. The inside was a small but nice little interior with hand drawn art on the walls and simple little decorations all over the place! Although personally the music choices of this place isn't quite as relaxing to me, but that's a very personal thing. It'll probably work for others. The barista, Emily, was friendly and very good at taking our mixed orders and got everything great! She was also very kind and very chatty! First off, I have to say that the menu that this place has is very impressive! Lots and lots of options! I ordered the Peppermint Mocha and, while I was disappointed by the small fact that the cups had nothing interesting about them. They were just plain cups with the drink drawn on with marker. But the drink was at least tasty and the amount was decent for the slightly high price. Overall, not a bad little drink stand! Definitely recommend a stop by if you're in the area and thirsty or just want a little sit down area!
The coffee here is amazing. Very different, out of the box, POTIONS. Pastries and light food is available. ***My favorite drink is "Love Charm" (made with rose water) & they even add edible rose petals. ***My favorite bite is the Avocado toast. The vibe is Friday the 13/ Halloween vibes... super cute and creepy wall decor and even a ladder to match the famous superstition. The service is good too(:
This little coffee shop is different in style than any other place in Reno. The coffee and food I'd give about a 6/10. I may have rated it higher but I think it didn't taste as good because it took so long to get it. There were about 5 other people in the shop other than me and it took 30 minutes to get my avocado toast. 20 minutes in I kindly reminded the staff about it and all they said was oh we forgot, then took another 10 minutes to start to make it. I most likely will not return. Which is a bummer because I really wanted to like it. read more

Stopped by on my way to work. Coffee was great but there was a bit of a wait since there was just one barista. Ample parking and I will give it another try but will make sure to get there a little earlier. read more

Absolutely DELIGHTFUL coffee shop in N Valleys is my new fave place! I met clients there recently and fell in love with the decor, friendly staff and menu. If you're a coffee or tea fan, you'll love Superstitions. If you're a Halloween fan, you'll LOVE Superstitions! If you like your caffeine fix with a side of spooky, you'll really love Superstitions Java. Break away from that no-go-italiano mocha-frasized nonsense and support local! read more
How I slept on this place for almost a whole year and a half with it being so close to home I'll never know! The lattes are fabulous. Frankly though, I'm a sucker for a theme as well so it never hurts that they always have seasonal offerings as well. The ambience is just everything I hoped it would be with a name like Superstitions Java.. it's spooky, funky and vintage - and that's barely scratching the surface here. The service is friendly and quick. Whether staying or taking it to go, it's fast and fresh. This place is a whole vibe and I love it! read more

I go here almost every Saturday morning but sometimes it's a long wait. Today only one girl was working and the coffee shop was busy but she was so fast and attentive. I waited less than 10 mins which is not bad. Time to enjoy my hot lavender latte! read more

This place is truly a hidden gem. Driving by, you wouldn't know there's a coffee shop in this small shopping center, but it has a dedicated parking lot and is right off of the Golden Valley freeway exit. The aesthetic of the coffee shop definitely lives up to the name and I loved it! They have a variety of coffees, teas, and foods. They also sell Mother of Macros donuts here, which I love. I had the Blackberry White Mocha and it was AMAZING! You can taste that the coffee is great quality and the barista made it to perfection. The white mocha was not too sweet and you really get that hint of blackberry at the end of the sip. I would highly recommend checking this place out! read more

Wow...Superstitions Java is truly one of my favorite coffee spots in Reno/Sparks! They have delicious lattes--my favorites are the Love Potion #9, which is horchata, milk, espresso and cinnamon, and the Purple Reign which is Ube, espresso, milk, vanilla and brown sugar! Their Matcha is also soooo good. Basically, everything they do here is bomb, including their avocado toasts. Although they're located in Golden Valley, which might be far for some people, it's truly worth the drive. The cafe itself is so eclectic and cute and really plays into the "superstitions" vibe. It's the perfect spot to sit and get work done or meet up with a friend. I highly recommend checking them out!! read more

I had gone in for my weekly treat on 8.4.23 and thought to do a custom drink. It's been fun checking-in and trying all their different specialty drinks. After ordering and asking to use my 25% off coupon for being a check-in regular through the Yelp app, I was told they are no longer honoring this for the Yelp community. I suggest the owner remove their business from participating in this program since they are no longer honoring the coupon app. Although, I was bummed I still enjoyed my custom Americano with brown sugar cold foam. read more

Still adorable and cute, it's spooky season so the decor here is outstanding more than usually. If you haven't been in, you should try to make it in the month of October to see this place in all its glory and maybe leave a fun picture on their chalk board. Need a place to put your business cards? They got a cork board for that, thanks for the card at Paquins taxidermy ;) You can order ahead of time if you're in a hurry. If you enjoy the joy of punch cards, well sorry kids, those are long gone :( it's a new era where those have gone to die and now we gotta use something called the Java app? Haven't gotten around to it... might never but I'll keep my punch card for good memories... might throw it on the cork board. Who knows. read more
