Love everything about this place! Service: The lady working the front was so kind and had a great, upbeat personality. She was efficient while taking my order, already starting to grind the coffee while my payment was finalized. Great speed and awesome staff. Ambience: The shop is quaint and has an extremely casual vibe to it! There's a large array of coffee beans on the wall, ranging--of course--from dark to light roasts. Fare: I ordered the sea salt coffee and loved it. Sea salt tends to be great in many drinks, but the taste is above my expectations. read more

Warning: I am a huge coffee snob and extremely picky, so please take this review with a grain of salt. I know many locals that love this place, but I just do not get it. Okay, so after hearing about this place for a while we decided to stop in a few Saturday's ago. We liked the concept and even considered buying some beans (really glad we did not). But the first sin of espresso coffee drinks is scorched milk and/or a beverage that is just too hot, and that's what we got. Additionally, the coffee flavor just wasn't too our liking, it was very bitter. Finally, there is extremely limited seating inside, which maybe isn't a big deal if you are just picking up takeaway. Our verdict is that this is not on our list for cafes in Reno. read more

Food/Drinks: Dependable coffee & lattes. they do a solid job making each drink delicious and as ordered. Service: Friendly and happy to explain the drinks. Ambiance: small dining area, but fine for pickup. read more

Been here a few times. Today I decided to leave a note/review. The laughing cat seems to have the best coffee in Reno. I've tried all the local coffee places and the laughing cat is my favorite. They're super nice never inconvenienced and make the bomb a$$ coffee drinks. Caramel Americano is my go-to drink. Too much caffeine makes me anxious. Just an all around great coffee joint. Did I mention the stickers? They have stickers. I love stickers. read more

Laughing Cat makes my absolute favorite coffee in all of Reno! I love the little shops vibes, their beans are amazing & every single person on their team is so friendly! Every time I come here I feel so welcomed and leave with the best drink ever! Getting to see the roasting process happening in the back when you're ordering is always so cool too. I would 100% recommend this coffee shop to everyone, I love to take friends here when they visit to sign the wall & try the awesome coffee!! read more

Employees make a place! Heard about this roaster because of an Elite Event. Went in the following day... roasting day so the instant aroma of f coffee hit us when driven ng up. Took mom (87 years young).... They treated her like a queen. Easy to access with her walker and handicapped parking spots. Had a latte and it was the perfect temperature. Could have had a bit more flavoring but the coffee flavor was rich. Milk alternatives are available. Smaller sized bags of beans are available for testing at home. We bought 3 and the flavor notes were spot on for the Noir and Italian Roast. Clean and refresh g to sit at a table and watch the interaction of other guests. Most were regulars and all were treated as if they were important! Have enjoyed the beans at home so back we will go to get more! read more

I know I can be a bit critical when it comes to coffee, so take this with that context. I just wasn't that impressed. Nothing was bad. It just didn't really stand out. The coffee was fine, the space was fine, service was fine. But for a specialty shop, I'm usually looking for one thing that makes me go "okay, this is what you do." I didn't quite find that here. Maybe I caught them on an off day, maybe it just didn't align with my preferences. I'd be open to giving it another shot. But on this visit, it didn't move the needle for me. read more

The coffee was tasty. The flavor really packed a punch of coffee. It wasn't overly sweet. It's in an odd location, I feel. Not obvious, and I found it difficult to see when driving on the street. It was worth it though! read more

Tucked away in a shopping strip is Laughing Cat Coffee, which should be celebrating their 36 year in business this year! I have driven past this cafe many times and finally committed to stopping by before they closed for the day. They are open between 6am to 2pm and closed on Sundays. The inside is a tad small, however they have beautiful wood carved tables featuring their laughing cat logo and a wall dedicated to let patrons doodle. The cashier is located behind a coffee truck painted wall and their menu is neat -- they have both food and drink options available. I was happy to have ordered a latte, everything bagel and quiche at 1:30pm considering they were closing at 2pm and often times cafes of this size don't keep many food options available. The quiche was very moist and soft, and it included a packet of hot sauce as well! The cream cheese for my bagel was plenty, this place does not skip out! Despite having one cashier who doubled as our barista, the service was fast. We weren't the only people inside, we watched several couples enter and leave, which comforted me knowing this place has steady business. If you are in the area, please check this place out! Not only do they have their own roasts and merch for sale, but you can get a great late to go as well. read more

recently visited the Laughing Cat Coffee House, and I absolutely loved my experience! The variety of drinks and specialties they offer is impressive, making every visit a delightful adventure for the taste buds. I couldn't resist bringing home a couple of bags of their in-house roasted beans, and now I proudly enjoy two pounds of their exceptional coffee sent to my home every month. The atmosphere is adorable, providing a cozy and inviting space to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. The staff were exceptional--super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their drinks, which made ordering a breeze. read more

Absolutely love Laughing Cat Coffee! Found out about them at Fantasies in Chocolate last year and now they are my go to Local shop. They also do season drinks, which are delicious and well crafted. Cannot recommend enough! This is one of the cutest little coffee shops in town! I love the variety of plants, and the signature wall is so unique! I can't wait to sign it too. Such a great place to hangout and chat with the incredible staff. The service is absolutely excellent and so is their coffee! I tried the Grasshopper (hot) which is their take on Dubai chocolate, and chose oat milk. I think I'll try it with either milk or dark chocolate next time. I'm just not a fan of white chocolate much. But still I loved the latte so much! There's so many other items i want to try along with their pastries. Keep doing what you're doing Laughing Cat. I'm so happy you're here in the community and just down the street from me. Much love! read more

I took my fiancee out on a impromptu morning date with some coffee, yard sales , strawberries from our favorite fruit stand and lunch. She loves coffee and I wanted to take her to a new to us place.. i didnt realize laughing cat was a few minutes down the road from us till I saw a video from a local food reviewer who had gone there after they were broken into and robbed.. so i knew we had to go and try their coffee and support them. First of all their logo is super cute and I love all the purple..my favorite color..lol.. the first thing you see when you walk in is the purple food truck painted on the wall around the window you order at and then the big wall on the right of the door where people have signed it when visiting. We walked up to the window and were greeted nicely by 2 staff members.. they explained their seasonal drink and answered any questions we had..they were both so nice. I got a warm chai with regular milk. Temp was good but it did lack flavor. I could barely taste anything like the Chai or cinnamon. My fiancee got their seasonal drink. It was a spin on Dubai chocolate but made with white chocolate. My fiancee LOVED it! I tried it too and it was pretty good. Im just happy she liked it. Cute place with good vibes and friendly staff. We will be coming back and I will be trying the chai again. read more

Laughing Cat Coffee is a hidden gem in an industrial area of South Reno. Several friends and I have made it our goal to try as many coffee shops as possible in our community. The frequency of the visits were bolstered by a purchase of a home espresso machine. Now I needed fresh beans for said machine. Laughing Cat roasts some of the best beans I've tried and they offer a 20% discount on bags every Saturday. read more

Hidden gem coffee shop alert! If you're in Reno looking for coffee and love discovering and supporting local, check out Laughing Cat Coffee! Laughing Cat Coffee has been a Roastery for 35 years (wow!) and more recently opened as a coffee shop too. It's located in a warehouse-like building on Airway near Longley. There's plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. They offer a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages (including ube and matcha). I kept it simple with my typical morning hot latte and loved it. Bought a bag of beans to keep the love going at home. If you want to try different beans, they sell smaller/sampler type bags called 'kittens' - how cute! They also see SportTea (the best, and hard-to-find tea!), and have a small fridge of protein-based snacks from a local baker. And if cold brew is your thing: you can buy it by the growler. Last thing: service is top-notch! There was only one employee working when I was there. She was warm and welcoming with me and the other customers that came in. She's a gem and Laughing Cat is too. Cheers! read more

This is such a quaint little coffee shop tucked away inside some businesses. I wish it got more attention from none office workers. Its super cute and they even have a variety of beans and teas for purchase. The i side is small, but you see their entire set up of how they prep in the back. Its good for catching up or doing g some work. The cost of the dri ks are decent nothing g too extravagant and the merchandise at little store front is your typical 10+ in cost. The Barnstable was super sweet to everyone who came in. There are also regulars. Making it a good sign to keep on visiting. read more

this place is super cute! I really love the company name, laughing, cat coffee. When I was going inside, I am engaged with this table that have these little cute bags, half bagged that says kittens. On the left of the shelf are full-size coffee bags that cat coffee. That is super cute! I came here on a Saturday morning, about to leave to go to Lake Tahoe to hang out at the beach. I wanted to get coffee on the way, and sadly I was bummed that they didn't have any pastries that morning. But I did get this really nice iced coffee mocha, but two shots of espresso and it did not disappoint. It had a balance of sweetness and bitterness. It was only one staff member, and she had to make five other drinks. She said that it's going to take some time to make my drink, because she is the only person as I saw him. And it was not busy, but there was a large group. So totally understandable. And she's really nice and friendly. Definitely will come back and recommend to come here if you wanna get some really cute kittens and cat bean coffee. I still haven't tried my coffee beans yet because I need to grind them and I haven't finished my older packs yet. But definitely can't wait to try these. parking was also easy to find as well. read more

Loved my first visit to Laughing Cat. I had the Purple Cloud ube-flavored latte and it was smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The coconut cream cold foam on top was rich and silky -- a creamy finish that complemented the drink beautifully. The shop is a little tucked away, but that just makes it feel like a hidden gem-- quiet, cozy, and full of charm. While I waited, I checked out their fresh-roasted beans, and the Highlander Grogg immediately caught my attention with its warm, buttery butterscotch aroma, I'll definitely be back to grab a bag. Also really appreciated the neighbor discount-- such a thoughtful touch that adds to the welcoming vibe. read more

As I stated in my previous review of Laughing Cat Coffee I would visit the establishment again and I did. I chatted with the manager/barista and found out why my first impression was justifiable, but it was due to a technical gaffe: a low battery on the timer that went off prematurely leading to a not-so-good pour over cup of coffee. I tried the same pour over coffee with totally different results. My second visit was a story with a happy ending- my low acid Peruvian coffee was great and more or less what I had envisioned. Four days later (on a Saturday), with 20% off, my spouse and I bought 3 packages of coffee, 3 different types, 3 different distinctive flavors. We are happy and grateful we discovered Laughing Cat Coffee. See you there! read more

The Laughing Cat is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Reno. I genuinely love coming here. The second I walk in, the whole space just feels good. Everything is lavender and purple, which happens to be my favorite color, so it already feels like home. I always order the same thing: an Americano with oat milk. It's smooth, rich, and never bitter, and the oat milk makes it perfectly creamy without feeling heavy. They make it right every single time. And I have to give a special shoutout to Sara. She is so sweet and always remembers my order, which makes it feel even more personal and welcoming. That kind of consistency and kindness really stands out. The vibe here is everything. The music is great, the energy is warm, and it's such a peaceful place to sit, think, journal, or meet up with someone. It's clean, beautifully designed, and you can tell they truly care about the experience. The Laughing Cat has become one of my favorite little rituals in Reno, and I'm so grateful to have a spot like this in our community. read more

Cute little cafe nestled in an industrial strip on the corner of Longley and Airway. I visited the roastery years back and didn't have a great experience, but it's now under new ownership and has a cooler, cuter vibe. The cafe itself isn't huge - there are 3 tables with 2 seats each and one large picnic-style table for a larger group. There are also wall outlets if you want to bring your laptop and work. I love finding unique drinks and am happy to report that they have a fun, seasonal menu along with the standards. Tried the Harvest Moon, which is a delicious pumpkin earl grey latte. Someone ahead of me ordered a lavender matcha, which was not on the menu but is apparently an option. The only thing I wish they had are actual store cats (still hoping for a cat cafe in Reno that actually has a coffee bar). Regardless, I'd recommend Laughing Cat to anyone looking for a chill place to grab a fun drink. read more

Stopped in quickly during a weekday morning before work to grab coffee. I have been working in the area for a few months and am on the hunt for my new regular spot. This place is unassuming but upon entrance I knew it was going to be good! I could smell the beans and see everything getting made in the back. I ordered an iced mocha which is how I judge all my coffee shops, and was very happy with the taste! It was chocolate my while still having the taste and smell of roasted coffee beans. It was made within a couple of minutes and fit my need for quick service coffee. I will be back to taste a few other options as well as grab a bag of beans for home. read more

Came in for another visit. Wanted to try all the drinks, so we tried three. I like asking the barista what their favorites are in the moment, and it was pleasantly surprised by the orange ember iced latte. I think the best part is when they put orange zest to finish off a drink. It was absolutely refreshing, delicious, and simply perfect! I think it's on the secret menu because it used to be part of their fall menu, but they still have the ingredients for it. Then we tried he Pom fizz and tropical iced tea both were very flavorful yet light and refreshing. Love coming here and the owner Steven was super nice. Highly recommend coming on Saturdays when their coffee beans are 20% off. read more

This adorable little cafe totally made my day! I had no idea it even existed, but my husband surprised me by taking me there, knowing how much I adore cats and anything cat-themed. We tried a sugar-free hazelnut half-and-half cappuccino, and it completely blew my mind--it was honestly one of the best cappuccinos I've had in town! It made my whole morning. My husband got the Merriment Mocha and absolutely loved it. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the service is quick and friendly. This coffee shop is a little bit difficult to find. It's situated within the warehouses of South Reno. However, if you do manage to find it, it is a very great hole-in-the-wall coffee shop with quality, coffee, and an interesting interior design. I walked in to what was a very small seating area. The cashier is set up as though it's a cat-themed food truck. Everything about the place was very quaint and charming. I ordered an iced latte, which was one of the better lattes I've had. It does not retain a lot of the bitter taste of coffee, which I like. The taste of coffee that it does have is very tasty, not burnt at all. Also, I think it's great that they have an interactive wall to draw on. It seems like everybody takes part. I drew my own version of a cat, but there are definitely way better drawings on that wall. I had fun appreciating everybody's artistic abilities. I spent $5-$10 read more

Tucked away at the corner of Longley and Airway, Laughing Cat Coffee is a hidden gem and a must-visit if you're in the area. Billed as Reno's oldest premium coffee roaster, they roast in small batches on-site, and there's always an interesting variety of beans to explore. On this visit, we stopped in for a growler of their cold brew to help us survive the hot summer mornings--and it didn't disappoint! 8/14/2024- Lots of running around today, and made my way to stop by.. I can't believe it's been five years of stopping in.. A few customers waiting for a drink and to place an order.. I guess during the five years, I have really been loving coffee and organic coffees.. New owner Steven is really pleasant.. Love seeing how business owners appreciate customers! Ps.. do the Yelp check in for the discount! I went with a bag of Mexico coffee beans- and also had them grounded.. Being conscientious of sugar intake-I tried to avoid a sugary drink-.. Ordered the activated charcoal Americano -coconut cream top.. I've never had activated charcoal.. Apprehensive when I saw how black the coffee was looking.. but then the creamy foam on top changed my mind.. 5 stars- not sure how to describe but the first sip : wow!.. no charcoal flavor and not too sweet.. a perfect balance- It is a signature drink, and I can see why! The other signature drink- Ube Americano-- I'll be back for that when my youngest visits! So glad there are drinks available- Also, you get to earn rewards! read more
