The Laughing Cat is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Reno. I genuinely love coming here. The second I walk in, the whole space just feels good. Everything is lavender and purple, which happens to be my favorite color, so it already feels like home. I always order the same thing: an Americano with oat milk. It's smooth, rich, and never bitter, and the oat milk makes it perfectly creamy without feeling heavy. They make it right every single time. And I have to give a special shoutout to Sara. She is so sweet and always remembers my order, which makes it feel even more personal and welcoming. That kind of consistency and kindness really stands out. The vibe here is everything. The music is great, the energy is warm, and it's such a peaceful place to sit, think, journal, or meet up with someone. It's clean, beautifully designed, and you can tell they truly care about the experience. I took my fiancee out on a impromptu morning date with some coffee, yard sales , strawberries from our favorite fruit stand and lunch. She loves coffee and I wanted to take her to a new to us place.. i didnt realize laughing cat was a few minutes down the road from us till I saw a video from a local food reviewer who had gone there after they were broken into and robbed.. so i knew we had to go and try their coffee and support them. First of all their logo is super cute and I love all the purple..my favorite color..lol.. the first thing you see when you walk in is the purple food truck painted on the wall around the window you order at and then the big wall on the right of the door where people have signed it when visiting. We walked up to the window and were greeted nicely by 2 staff members.. they explained their seasonal drink and answered any questions we had..they were both so nice. I got a warm chai with regular milk. Temp was good but it did lack flavor. I could barely taste anything like the Chai or cinnamon. My fiancee got their seasonal drink. It was a spin on Dubai chocolate but made with white chocolate. My fiancee LOVED it! I tried it too and it was pretty good. Im just happy she liked it. Cute place with good vibes and friendly staff. I know I can be a bit critical when it comes to coffee, so take this with that context. I just wasn't that impressed. Nothing was bad. It just didn't really stand out. The coffee was fine, the space was fine, service was fine. But for a specialty shop, I'm usually looking for one thing that makes me go "okay, this is what you do." I didn't quite find that here. Maybe I caught them on an off day, maybe it just didn't align with my preferences. I'd be open to giving it another shot. But on this visit, it didn't move the needle for me. read more

Cannot recommend enough! This is one of the cutest little coffee shops in town! I love the variety of plants, and the signature wall is so unique! I can't wait to sign it too. Such a great place to hangout and chat with the incredible staff. The service is absolutely excellent and so is their coffee! I tried the Grasshopper (hot) which is their take on Dubai chocolate, and chose oat milk. I think I'll try it with either milk or dark chocolate next time. I'm just not a fan of white chocolate much. But still I loved the latte so much! There's so many other items i want to try along with their pastries. Keep doing what you're doing Laughing Cat. Tucked away in a shopping strip is Laughing Cat Coffee, which should be celebrating their 36 year in business this year! I have driven past this cafe many times and finally committed to stopping by before they closed for the day. They are open between 6am to 2pm and closed on Sundays. The inside is a tad small, however they have beautiful wood carved tables featuring their laughing cat logo and a wall dedicated to let patrons doodle. The cashier is located behind a coffee truck painted wall and their menu is neat -- they have both food and drink options available. I was happy to have ordered a latte, everything bagel and quiche at 1:30pm considering they were closing at 2pm and often times cafes of this size don't keep many food options available. The quiche was very moist and soft, and it included a packet of hot sauce as well! The cream cheese for my bagel was plenty, this place does not skip out! Despite having one cashier who doubled as our barista, the service was fast. We weren't the only people inside, we watched several couples enter and leave, which comforted me knowing this place has steady business. If you are in the area, please check this place out! Hidden gem coffee shop alert! If you're in Reno looking for coffee and love discovering and supporting local, check out Laughing Cat Coffee! Laughing Cat Coffee has been a Roastery for 35 years (wow!) and more recently opened as a coffee shop too. It's located in a warehouse-like building on Airway near Longley. There's plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. They offer a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages (including ube and matcha). I kept it simple with my typical morning hot latte and loved it. Bought a bag of beans to keep the love going at home. If you want to try different beans, they sell smaller/sampler type bags called 'kittens' - how cute! They also see SportTea (the best, and hard-to-find tea!), and have a small fridge of protein-based snacks from a local baker. And if cold brew is your thing: you can buy it by the growler. Last thing: service is top-notch! There was only one employee working when I was there. She was warm and welcoming with me and the other customers that came in. She's a gem and Laughing Cat is too. I chatted with the manager/barista and found out why my first impression was justifiable, but it was due to a technical gaffe: a low battery on the timer that went off prematurely leading to a not-so-good pour over cup of coffee. I tried the same pour over coffee with totally different results. My second visit was a story with a happy ending- my low acid Peruvian coffee was great and more or less what I had envisioned. Four days later (on a Saturday), with 20% off, my spouse and I bought 3 packages of coffee, 3 different types, 3 different distinctive flavors. We are happy and grateful we discovered Laughing Cat Coffee. See you there! read more

This is such a quaint little coffee shop tucked away inside some businesses. I wish it got more attention from none office workers. Its super cute and they even have a variety of beans and teas for purchase. The i side is small, but you see their entire set up of how they prep in the back. Its good for catching up or doing g some work. The cost of the dri ks are decent nothing g too extravagant and the merchandise at little store front is your typical 10+ in cost. this place is super cute! I really love the company name, laughing, cat coffee. When I was going inside, I am engaged with this table that have these little cute bags, half bagged that says kittens. On the left of the shelf are full-size coffee bags that cat coffee. That is super cute! I came here on a Saturday morning, about to leave to go to Lake Tahoe to hang out at the beach. I wanted to get coffee on the way, and sadly I was bummed that they didn't have any pastries that morning. But I did get this really nice iced coffee mocha, but two shots of espresso and it did not disappoint. It had a balance of sweetness and bitterness. It was only one staff member, and she had to make five other drinks. She said that it's going to take some time to make my drink, because she is the only person as I saw him. And it was not busy, but there was a large group. So totally understandable. And she's really nice and friendly. Definitely will come back and recommend to come here if you wanna get some really cute kittens and cat bean coffee. I still haven't tried my coffee beans yet because I need to grind them and I haven't finished my older packs yet. I visited the roastery years back and didn't have a great experience, but it's now under new ownership and has a cooler, cuter vibe. The cafe itself isn't huge - there are 3 tables with 2 seats each and one large picnic-style table for a larger group. There are also wall outlets if you want to bring your laptop and work. I love finding unique drinks and am happy to report that they have a fun, seasonal menu along with the standards. Tried the Harvest Moon, which is a delicious pumpkin earl grey latte. Someone ahead of me ordered a lavender matcha, which was not on the menu but is apparently an option. The only thing I wish they had are actual store cats (still hoping for a cat cafe in Reno that actually has a coffee bar). Regardless, I'd recommend Laughing Cat to anyone looking for a chill place to grab a fun drink. read more

Stopped in quickly during a weekday morning before work to grab coffee. I have been working in the area for a few months and am on the hunt for my new regular spot. This place is unassuming but upon entrance I knew it was going to be good! I could smell the beans and see everything getting made in the back. I ordered an iced mocha which is how I judge all my coffee shops, and was very happy with the taste! It was chocolate my while still having the taste and smell of roasted coffee beans. Came in for another visit. Wanted to try all the drinks, so we tried three. I like asking the barista what their favorites are in the moment, and it was pleasantly surprised by the orange ember iced latte. I think the best part is when they put orange zest to finish off a drink. It was absolutely refreshing, delicious, and simply perfect! I think it's on the secret menu because it used to be part of their fall menu, but they still have the ingredients for it. Then we tried he Pom fizz and tropical iced tea both were very flavorful yet light and refreshing. Love coming here and the owner Steven was super nice. This adorable little cafe totally made my day! I had no idea it even existed, but my husband surprised me by taking me there, knowing how much I adore cats and anything cat-themed. We tried a sugar-free hazelnut half-and-half cappuccino, and it completely blew my mind--it was honestly one of the best cappuccinos I've had in town! It made my whole morning. This coffee shop is a little bit difficult to find. It's situated within the warehouses of South Reno. However, if you do manage to find it, it is a very great hole-in-the-wall coffee shop with quality, coffee, and an interesting interior design. I walked in to what was a very small seating area. The cashier is set up as though it's a cat-themed food truck. Everything about the place was very quaint and charming. I ordered an iced latte, which was one of the better lattes I've had. It does not retain a lot of the bitter taste of coffee, which I like. The taste of coffee that it does have is very tasty, not burnt at all. Also, I think it's great that they have an interactive wall to draw on. It seems like everybody takes part. I drew my own version of a cat, but there are definitely way better drawings on that wall. OMG I FINALLY made the stop and was able to try them out! I got to meet the owner, who also made the coffee for me. He was very friendly and made amazing coffee! They roast their own coffee. The don't have a huge menu options, but I love that! They have the basic coffee menu, but they have seasonal and specialty coffees and tea options as well! Inside the shop was super cute and cozy. They don't have a large seating area, but the furniture and decorations were super cute! It is kind of far from where I live, but this place is worth it enough where I'll be going out of my way to come back for more delicious coffee! I guess during the five years, I have really been loving coffee and organic coffees.. New owner Steven is really pleasant.. Love seeing how business owners appreciate customers! Ps.. do the Yelp check in for the discount! I went with a bag of Mexico coffee beans- and also had them grounded.. Being conscientious of sugar intake-I tried to avoid a sugary drink-.. Ordered the activated charcoal Americano -coconut cream top.. I've never had activated charcoal.. Apprehensive when I saw how black the coffee was looking.. but then the creamy foam on top changed my mind.. 5 stars- not sure how to describe but the first sip : wow!.. no charcoal flavor and not too sweet.. a perfect balance- It is a signature drink, and I can see why! Finally had a chance to try this location and I was blown away! It appears they have been in business so long and you can definitely tell the love for this place based off of their signature wall. The barista was so nice and helpful while we figured out what we wanted. I also was able to get a mother of macros dessert to go with my coffee. Although hopefully in the future they can have more pastry options. Nonetheless, My coffee was amazing and the perfect amount of sweetness. While I still try out new coffee shops Laughing Cat is my number one! And while I used to alternate between another shop and LCC I no longer have any loyalty to any other than Laughing Cat I love dark roast. It's not the most popular but for me it's the only roast I buy when I by whole bean. I've yet to find any other place that does it better. After my first visit, Laughing Cat stole the first place slot for my favorite coffee spot. The only bummer is that I live in California! Soooo I always make sure to drop in when I do come to visit. This visit was just as great as the last! I did see some changes like new seasonal flavors, baked goods, more beans on the shelves, teas, and some food options which all look great! The staff was equally as friendly as my first visit and the coffee was amazing of course. I tried an iced oat milk ginger latte and I loved it! I haven't seen ginger offered as a flavor before so I was very excited to try something different and I really did enjoy it.
