I love the coffee the ambiance and the service. All top notch. But please do not DO NOT ORDER THEIR FOOD..Aside from the pastries on their counter case (from Beloved Bakery) ...their food has consistently disappointed. Very expensive $8 for a slice of quiche that's nearly inedible. Dry bland, bad. They really shd not serve those horrid foods. Tried their Breakfast burritos, very bad, tasteless, you take a bite and you're done. Avocado toast is same. The coffee and donuts are great and That is ALL that's good. read more

Baked goods fresh, service and atmosphere among the best for coffee shops. A great location in a quiet area and next to the Truckee River walk. Was my favorite coffee quality for many years, but today's visit was a darker roast and beans not as freshly roasted. I have been roasting my coffee for years and they would rival my small roast batch quality, but sadly today, no more. Still a great coffee shop with very good coffee, just no longer among the best quality coffee ever. read more

Pretty place located by the side of the river. If you find yourself strolling by Truckee River down by 300 West 1st street, you'd spot this beautiful coffee house where they make and brew their own coffee. Accommodating and friendly staff, they made us feel welcome. Coffee was pretty cheap price for the taste and ambiance. read more

Great service! No upcharge for alternate milks! Tasty drinks! Located close to the Truckee River and a cool walking trail, Hub Coffee is the perfect spot to grab a beverage and enjoy it outdoors. I have not visited here for some time. I used to come here often when there was a large parking lot and very easy access and parking. That parking lot is now lovely apartments but I found parking on nearby streets was very easy even on a busy weekend. The charming vibe continues here. Nice seating outdoors was available and comfortable. Love to sit and people watch as well as pet watch, so many fun dogs to admire. The coffee was just as I hoped, cappuccino was full of flavor and really hit the spot. I did try one of their Morning Buns. It was no longer morning as was late afternoon but lovely staff offered to warm it for me and I must say it was beyond delicious. I had not expected that, light and flaky and tasted like it was made by the best baker in town! Beautiful spot to sit, relax, and enjoy the sound of the Truckee River and enjoy their delicious coffee. I shall return! read more

Such delicious coffee. We like stopping by on bike rides for a little energy boost. We ordered a cappuccino and almond milk latte. They have good quality beans. When the weather is perfect, they have tables and chairs. They were pretty busy on a Sunday around noon, but still felt they were pretty quick. Would recommend! read more

In town for work. Visited a few years ago. Stopped in the morning early. Cortado w oat milk. Yogurt. Friend had coffee black. Staff were super friendly. Busy but still personable. Drinks were good. Overall great experience. Also have pastries and breakfast sandwiches. We did not try. I would repeat again. Highly recommend. read more

Ordered two iced matcha lattes and the ultimate hot chocolate for myself and my kids. When I asked if they sweetened it I was told they put in "a little honey" but she could add some vanilla. We said sure, not realizing this was a $1 up charge. I watched the matcha being made and it it approximately 10 oz of milk with a squirt of matcha liquid from a plastic bottle. All you taste is the milk. My other daughter's hot chocolate was very sweet. $23 for this disappointing experience. read more

First visit to hub, coffee was alright, nothing wrong with the service, location and ambiance is KILLER that's for sure. I was on a walk while my kids were at Idlewild Pool so I stopped in for a cold brew. What doesn't do it for me, is no choice of lower calorie and/or skim milks. Full fat or non dairy options. Problem with non dairy is they are still loaded with fat. Wouldn't be too hard to carry another option for being more health conscious. I love this location by the river. The outside space is great in the spring/summer and the fall leaves are beautiful in the fall. The coffee and food is pretty expensive but I understand with this type of location that you have to increase prices. The breakfast burrito was $14 and fresh and I was pleasantly surprised that the salsa has now changed to free, thank you. The drink sizes are pretty small but it tasted good. This is 100% the location of Hub Coffee Roasters to visit, on Riverside. Great ambience and nice views. Note that it is primarily outdoor seating with very limited indoor seating. The espresso itself is good but not amazing. They still produce a pretty good latte, and again, the ambience is really nice. Service was acceptable. This is a solid 4 out of 5 stars. read more

This is another great local coffee shop. On a Saturday morning it was quite busy. The staff is very helpful explaining the choices on the menu. I opted to try the dirty chai, it was great! Just the right amount of savory and sweet. The old brick building adds to the downtown charm. There is a seating area inside and even more seating outside. Good local spot for fresh grind preps and other light snack items. Loved the inside seating setup, however the background music was a little loud. Outdoor seating was quiet and spread out, if you live close by then a great spot to walk to!! Service was super friendly and helpful!! Not a ton of syrup options, only 5 or 6 when I went in, and no almond milk. I'll go back, as the coffee was tasty and great for espressos, cappuccinos corridor, etc. read more

Did a quick stop in with my daughter as we were running errands and she wanted to try it out! I had been here a few years with a friend but couldn't remember what I had tried. While checking out the menu this time the apple cidar chai caught my eye. I was literally in love with this drink! It was warm, sweet and spicy and so delicious! Our favorite coffee spot for well over six years! Just down the street from our house and a perfect walk right by the river. Tasty seasonal flavors and new juices and bites all the time. Wednesday double downs are a great deal for coffee beans (two bags for $35) which is delicious if you enjoy having yummy local drip coffee at home everyday like we do! Well.... HUB just lost my business...came in ask for a nitro, (again) was told their machine is out so I opted (again) for cold brew and I drink it with no ice(i pay for coffee.... not ice cubes), the lady tells me that " we will only fill it half way if you want no ice or i can fill it up for additional cost "... so u charge me $6 for essspresso with water than want to charge me extra for actually filling the cup? I love supporting local businesses but you guys just lost me.... disgusting... read more

The coffee shop was cute and felt homey but I wasn't too excited about my drink.. I ordered a cold brew with lavender syrup which is pretty basic but it just tasted like something I could of just made at home.. also there was a ton of people working on their laptops which is expected but we definitely felt judged by fellow coffee goers instead of compassion when my friends diabetic child had to switch out his Dexcom and was irritable at the time and a couple people let us know by their looks that we weren't welcome. We ended up leaving sooner than we wanted because we felt out of place. read more

Location is awesome. I was able to find parking at nearby street, walk to the place and get my order ready. Small ice coffee is pricey, it's good but for a cold brew, I was expecting a stronger robust coffee taste. Nonetheless, the team members are great and friendly. There are plenty of seats outside the establishment and there's also a second floor inside for you to hang out. Best part is you can walk to the river and just chill. read more

I came by with my group to grab a drink before heading back to the bay area. I got the Apple cider chai after reading some great reviews on it and I have to say, this is a very interesting drink! I this the acidity of the apple cider glanced out the sweetness of the drink but I did get tired of the drink towards the end. There are 2 marshmallows in the drink and I ate them after finishing the drink. The marshmallows soaked up the drink but it was a bit too sweet and left a weird sour aftertaste from the apple cider. I do think if you're a bit adventurous, try this drink! My partner got the lavender chai, which I thought was pretty standard. There was a line when we came and still a line when we left, so this place is fairly popular. You line up and tell the barista your order and pay at the end of the counter. read more

My friend and I have had some stressful weeks so decided that we needed a walk by the river. Naturally we stopped for a little coffee break at Hub. Turned out that it was exactly what we needed. Friend was buying a bag of coffee, and the barista let her try a taste. That's nice. We enjoyed a cup sitting outside, which was nice! It was quiet, and relaxing. Dads weekend at UNR was busy and fun but ending the days events at the Hub coffee Roaster was a perfect way to relax while enjoying their beautiful outdoor seating. The baristas work hard to earn their tips by being so polite, warm and welcoming. If I am strolling along the river I rarely pass this Hub location without getting a coffee or chai tea. Sitting outside enjoying the view makes it a great place to meet up with friends or bring people from out of town. The line is usually long, but goes by quickly. We went by to buy a gift card the other day, so I decided to go back and give them a try. The old town façade made me like them. When we got there, we order an unusual drink, and they said they were sorry, but that they were not serving drinks like that. White mocha with raspberry was out of the cards. We order a simple vanilla latte, and two beignets. to tell the truth, I have had beignets in New Orleans, they are supposed to be hollowed, and you filled them at your will, but this was not the case there. I did not like them. Their latte was no different than any other place. I guess everything was left to the whim of the good looking façade, which is all they have. They should improve the way people sit in their waiting area. The whole thing is very uncomfortable, and you cannot possibly have a group of four or more people at your table. Order the iced matcha latte with lavender!! Recommend to me by the barista and it was possibly the best matcha drink I've had in Reno!! The location is in a very nice walkable area. Right across from a river lined by green trees!! The inside was cute and had a good amount of seating options and all the staff was super kind! They all basically sparked up a short conversation with me during the entire process of me ordering and paying! They also sell stickers of the shop here which I love as someone who like to journal! My only critique would be that while they do have food options! The only one that isn't cold and heated up is the avocado toast. Didn't try the other food because of this so can't speak on the taste of any. But overall a great cafe, great drinks and beautiful scenery! Will definitely be coming back! read more

Stopped by for a coffee in the middle of two walks. Had the dog with us so perfect afternoon to sit out front. We had a cappuccino and a mocha and two beignets. I prefer non dairy milk and there's no upcharge for oat milk. This place just has a great and simple vibe. Coffee was a good as always. Always a great to go cup of coffee. The service is friendly and quick. This is our favorite spot to get a cup and walk along the river or right before the farmers market. It's in the cutest area with the brick architectural details. The staff is always so friendly and they make sure to acknowledge customers when there is a line. Visiting Reno on a work trip, I saw this on the side of the Tahoe, pyramid walking trail during my morning run. I thought it would be a great opportunity get my morning coffee and I am glad that I did. I like the simple menu, I ordered a latte with oat milk, which is what I usually get.. As I was waiting for my drink, I noticed on a small sign that they were still serving pumpkin, and I love pumpkin, so I asked if I was able to get a little pumpkin in the drink. He said, even though it's normally a different drink, he would be happy to do that . Getting back on the trail, I took a sip of the coffee and literally exclaimed, "Wow that's good." I think I will only be getting my coffee from here every time im visiting Reno from now on. read more

While the new apartments have stolen some of the ambiance of a coffee shop on the river, Hub has maintained its charm. They still have a nice size area of outdoor seating to enjoy the weather and sounds of the river nearby. Staff are always friendly and service is given with a smile. The menu is on the smaller side, but the options are great and everything I've ordered taste great. It is a great spot to grab a delicious cup of coffee and take a walk along the river. We are a locally owned and operated speciality coffee shop and roaster that puts coffee first. We pride ourselves on sourcing high-grade coffees from around the world and ensuring our roasting and brewing practices showcase these coffees well. History

Established in 2009.

From the beginning it was all about coffee and community. Since June of 2009 our little garage coffee bar, located at 32 Cheney St. in what is now Midtown Reno, had become a common-grounds for creative, passionate, and friendly people, local or foreign--a hub, if you will. And a coffee, rather simple in its preparation, was the grease on the bearings. Fast-forward 6 years and, wow!, has our community grown. What was once Hub Coffee Company has evolved into Hub Coffee Roasters. We've been in the roasting game now since 2012, preparing tiny batch by tiny batch in a small one pound sample roaster, eventually moving into the big leagues with our San Franciscan SF-25 roaster. In June of 2013, we opened our second retail location along the Truckee River just west of downtown Reno, at 727 Riverside Dr, which will be expanding to include a new Tea Bar in August 2015. We're also looking forward to our new UNR location, which will also be opening in August 2015.

This location is a small shop with only a little bit of seating indoors and a few tables outdoors. This is primarily the roasters location, so it's a great place to enjoy the freshest of coffee but also a great place to purchase beans. They had a very large selection of beans for purchase. They still offer a decent menu and a few snacks, though much smaller than the other location. My wife enjoyed a matcha and I enjoyed one of the exclusive roastery blends on drip. Both drinks were very good. The quality of the drip coffee was superior. I want to visit again and try a coffee flight. That's something I've always wanted to do. Overall, friendly staff, delicious coffee, and even though it's hard to find, this hidden gem is well worth the stop. Cheers!

It would not be out of place in a three-Michelin-star dining room. He roasts every batch himself over a wood fire, feeding a beautiful old roaster with logs he chops by hand. His espresso blends are composed with a level of precision that feels almost synesthetic. Ask him what he is aiming for and he will describe the roast in shapes: how wide the base should be, whether it tapers or flares, how many sides the finished polygon has. I have stood there listening, fascinated, with no real idea what he is talking about, then tasted the cup and understood anyway. Important to know: this is not a coffee shop. There is no barista counter. It is a modest storefront and warehouse, and if you stop by you will likely see Tim at the roaster, stoking the fire. The aroma is arresting from the street. That wood fire imparts a signature note that sets his coffee apart. It does not turn smoky in the jerky sense. It reads as a gentle campfire thread running through the cup, adding warmth and dimension without heaviness. Since moving away from Reno I miss these beans enough that I cave and pay the shipping. If you order Priority Mail, the bags arrive right in the early sweet spot of their drinkability window, perfect for dialing in extraction. If you know your way around a grinder and an espresso machine, get these beans. Tim Curry is an amazing craftsman making world-class coffee, one hand-roasted batch at a time.

Plenty of seating. Plenty of mall parking, mid day, in between meal times. And too early to go to Zephyr's wine bar, lol. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 4pm. Service - Counter service. The customer in front of me took forever; she was very confused, it was probably her first time here also... No fault of the employee. The employee was nice, acknowledged me, apologized for the wait, and said bye to us as we were leaving. Price - $4, expensive, but that is the cost for quality. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 2023 and with your other two locations. My other buddy is a regular customer.

The coffee gelato was a light coffee taste, absolutely fantastic but my least favorite of the bunch. Service was also very fast and kind, just wanted to make sure I pointed that out. They tend to play indie rock and older stuff like dinosaur jr which is exactly my vibe. It's like they made this coffee place for me. My usual go to is the white mocha at most places I go, and they do it the absolute best here. However their seasonal drinks are great too. As of late, I've been getting their Kurogoma latte, which is also fantastic. Absolutely try this place out if you haven't. 5/5 stars.

Have been going here for some time, and today I came in to do some homework. Balls my dudes/dudettes, this place has gotten worse. What kind of gentrified bullshit is a goddamn wifi code? I understand if you were some upscale bay area coffee shop, but COME ON! *insert G.O.B. meme* THIS IS RENO! Even if you maybe had a handful of *freeloaders*, there's no reason to lock up the wifi for an hour at a time. This is more anecdotal than anything else, but typically I would come in for a long sesh of studying, purchasing one or two coffees every other hour. Coming in today (and you bet your ass I'm taking my precious hour of wifi to write this) I found that I had to check in every hour. I come to be in a social environment but not social, and that forced interaction every hour really soured this place for me. I hope others follow in a similar boycott. I don't think I'll be back. Hub Coffee Roasters is nestled in a beautiful spot right across from the Truckee River, just a short walk down from Idlewild Park. They have a gorgeous patio with plenty of seating--an ideal place to relax and enjoy your morning coffee. There's also a cozy indoor seating area for colder days, making it a great year-round hangout. The staff here were very friendly and impressively fast at getting our coffees out. However, I found my cold brew to be quite bitter and a bit watered down, which was disappointing. Another downside was their limited milk options--only whole milk and non-dairy available, with no skim or 2% milk options. It would be great to have lower-calorie choices for those who are more health-conscious. The prices felt a little high for what I got, but overall, Hub Coffee Roasters is a solid option if you want to grab a coffee while out for a morning walk around the area. read more
