    "Costco muffin", lemon raspberry
    Alicia W.

I was downtown getting some labs done and looked up coffee shops nearby. This one popped up as only 800ft away, so I decided to swing by! It was hard to find because Apple Maps doesn't say anything about this being inside the ROC Clinic. Even once inside the clinic, it was hard to find because I came in through a side entrance and didn't see any signs saying it was on the second floor. I finally found it and it's a pretty cool space! I love the tall outdoorsy artwork right next to the coffee shop. They have some pastries and other small food items, plus tons of drink options! I got a blueberry lavender iced tea for my friend, she loved it and said it was the perfect refreshing summer drink. I appreciated that they had some unique tea options for those that don't want coffee! They have a list of barista specials which has a wide variety of different drink flavor combos. I love specialty drinks, so I got their current special which was an iced strawberry maple latte! The drink was very tasty, I thought it had more of the strawberry taste than the maple but it still tasted good together! I got a lemon raspberry muffin, the register rang it up as a "Costco muffin" which made me laugh. You should just label it as a muffin so people don't realize it's just a rebranded muffin from somewhere else haha! It was quite tasty for being a Costco muffin though. This was a solid stop for drinks and snacks, I probably won't be back since I'm not ever in this area or at ROC but will definitely plan on going to their other drive thru location again in the future!

This place is located inside of ROC physical therapy building on the second floor. I was waiting in the lobby so I got a quick snack from them and a hot beverage. The employees here were really nice. Answer my questions and recommended suggestions for what to get. I ended up getting a breakfast burrito. It had eggs, potatoes and cheese, which is perfect because I don't eat pork. Along with a dirty chai with lavender syrup. I got to add coconut milk instead of regular milk without extra charge. This drink was really good. I liked the burrito too. Is directly in front of the physical therapy if you're waiting to go into your appointment. Or if you're waiting on someone else in the lobby downstairs. They offer food items if you need breakfast, snacks or a quick lunch. There is a sitting area off to the side which is really cool. That way you don't have to eat on your lap.

    Happy Holidays at the Roost

I had an appointment at ROC for a sprained ankle (boooo) so I decided to check out The Roost as a treat! They had a little line but the baristas were quick in getting their coffees and food out. I loved that they had a board of barista favorite drinks, it helps so much when I'm feeling uninspired and indecisive! I tried their gingerbread latte, the weekly special, and a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese. The latte was nice and spicy at first but wasn't too overpowering! The bagel was yummy, but my cream cheese cup was missing, oops! The bagel and coffee came out separately, and I definitely didn't check my bag before I left, so that may have been my fault. Overall, if I ever see myself at the ROC or in the area again, I'd visit the Roost again! They were cutely decorated for the holidays and even had free donuts and drip coffee out for patrons as well!

Lots going on take the time to see all the options before ordering. Seasonal drinks as well as unique creations. There is a menu (I should have looked before I was leaving)!!!! Food looked really good from the people sitting at the open window overlooking the courtyard. Packaged coffee beans available in every style of roast. Came for espresso beans and they had them. They offered to ground them as well. Took them whole. Had an awesome card spring special... Tonic and espresso.... Interesting flavor that grew on me as I drank it. Would be a fun place at night to explore some more.

The coffee is FIRE! Whether you get a simple americano or something more, like their purple haze, the coffee is rich and full bodied! Their baristas are patient, kind, and provide good recommendations if you don't know what to go for when you come in. I'll likely be there at least once a week until I graduate... then I'll find another excuse to get in here

Everything is lavender and purple, which happens to be my favorite color, so it already feels like home. I always order the same thing: an Americano with oat milk. It's smooth, rich, and never bitter, and the oat milk makes it perfectly creamy without feeling heavy. They make it right every single time. And I have to give a special shoutout to Sara. She is so sweet and always remembers my order, which makes it feel even more personal and welcoming. That kind of consistency and kindness really stands out. The vibe here is everything. The music is great, the energy is warm, and it's such a peaceful place to sit, think, journal, or meet up with someone. It's clean, beautifully designed, and you can tell they truly care about the experience. The Laughing Cat has become one of my favorite little rituals in Reno, and I'm so grateful to have a spot like this in our community.

She loves coffee and I wanted to take her to a new to us place.. i didnt realize laughing cat was a few minutes down the road from us till I saw a video from a local food reviewer who had gone there after they were broken into and robbed.. so i knew we had to go and try their coffee and support them. First of all their logo is super cute and I love all the purple..my favorite color..lol.. the first thing you see when you walk in is the purple food truck painted on the wall around the window you order at and then the big wall on the right of the door where people have signed it when visiting. We walked up to the window and were greeted nicely by 2 staff members.. they explained their seasonal drink and answered any questions we had..they were both so nice. I got a warm chai with regular milk. Temp was good but it did lack flavor. I could barely taste anything like the Chai or cinnamon. My fiancee got their seasonal drink. It was a spin on Dubai chocolate but made with white chocolate. My fiancee LOVED it! I tried it too and it was pretty good. Im just happy she liked it. Cute place with good vibes and friendly staff. We will be coming back and I will be trying the chai again.

What a major local gem in Reno. It only took one visit for…read moreme to become a fan of this coffee shop/bar in Midtown. You can tell that a lot of thought and heart went into the place. The decor, the entertainment, the products all struck a chord with me. On one side - a super cute pour over/loose leaf tea shop with some records for sale. On the other - a cute bar and lounge area equipped with a vinyl player (Bring one in on a Monday for them to play). You have some house pants, checkered floors, and cool vinyl covers all over the walls that make for some great & hip atmosphere and vibes. Their restrooms, though small, and clean and cool. Their pour overs are so flavorful, strong, and made with beans grounded on your visit. I love that they're flavored and sweetened in a way that allows the coffee to shine. If you're into sweeter drinks, ask for a bit more sweetner or add in a brown raw sugar packet yourself from the straw station. I hear their chocolate pour over is a hit. Matchas - prepared in a similar fashion. Slightly sweetned with subtle flavorings. I tried their carrot cake matcha today and really enjoyed the housemade syrup they used to flavor it with. I also love that they offer loose leaf teas. Their chai was nice, fragrant and great with a little sweetner and milk. Shelby over at the bar area was sooo patient with explaining their menu and suggested a isla bonita pineapple shrub drink for a non alcoholic option. Similar to their other drinks on the coffee side, it was tamed in sugar yet still fun and flavorful. I really enjoyed the tang from the apple cider and the spice from the tajin chili powder as a contrasting flavor. Double check their website for bar and coffee shop hours as they differ from one another. And follow them on Instagram for updates on seasonal specials & themed gatherings. A lot of cool local DJs spin here for special events and parties during the holidays. Tip: sit next to the pour over station next to the menu. It's so entertaining, especially with Sydney working the station (thanks so much for the chat and entertainment. Honestly one of the friendliest baristas I've ever met in Reno). Both bars are set up in a way that allows for meeting others and socializing. Check it out. It's a good time. Notes *Catch live jazz music on Wednesdays here for free. *free street & neighborhood parking *bagels & cream cheese available at the coffee shop *they have fun with their seasonal drink specials. I dig it.
