This Old World Coffee location is smaller than the Midtown one, but it feels intimate and relaxed. There's plenty of parking, the service was good, and when I visited it wasn't crowded at all, which made it even more enjoyable. One of the coolest parts is being able to see them roast the coffee, it's very unique and almost feels like you're in a science lab. They also have a great selection of merch and coffee bean bags available for purchase with unique notes. One tip: Since the space is small, the cold comes in when the door opens. Bring a sweater if you get cold easily. I know I do. Overall, a great spot for coffee lovers who enjoy a quieter, behind-the-scenes vibe . Side note: My go to is always a hot Americano to get a taste of the coffee. It was delicious. I also enjoy their herbal tea. It comes in a light bulb . Super unique.
Let me preface this by saying, I am not a coffee person and mainly drink matcha lattes. That being said, I did not enjoy the matcha latte here. The green color was vibrant but the taste is lacking in what matcha is suppose to be. Also, the cost did not justify the product itself either. The decor is lovely inside and the workers were kind, but I don't see myself coming back.
I love this place for coffee! You can never go wrong with them! Ever since I got the Mocha Drogata, I can't stop ordering it. Plus, the barista did an excellent job with my latest order. Such a fun person to talk with and knows how to keep his customers happy. Always starts my day off well! I really like the atmosphere in this coffee shop! It was peaceful and the music is always on point. If you're in the northwest Reno area, think of them before you go to that other chain.
Went here a few weeks ago for their anniversary celebration and it was awesome. We were able to try a bunch of the specialty lattes/ espresso tonic drinks from previous seasons and that was amazing.
The drinks here are very good. It is a shame they only come in one size. The servers have been very good each time we've been there. The inside has several 4 top tables and many bar seats. The bar seating looked like it had outlets for charging phones, laptops and tablets.
This is a beautiful place to come and enjoy a cup of coffee. They have the roaster right in front of you in the location, and you can even enjoy a delicious coffee alfresco. They could have elevated the service by making the coffee hot. It would have been nicer to have fresh pastries, but they were almost wiped out. The pastry was nice and flaky, but it could use a little more blueberries in it. They say they get their pastries from a vendor. I would like to come back, but this time I want my, very expensive latte, hot.
Attended the Memorial Day weekend event and tried a few retired favorites in an iced flight format. Loved each flavor, but the cherry jubilee and cookie latte were especially delicious and I hope they bring them back in full sizes! Fun event with face painting and music, and a booth selling the shop's cool merch. Love the inside of the roastery, airy and spacious: would definitely stop by to chill with friends or even get some work done while enjoying delicious drinks.
$10.25 for an iced vanilla almond milk latte? And that's not even with tip. I had been going to Old World for a long time, especially on Tuesday for the 2 for $25 bag of beans. The owner recently upped the price on the 2 for $25 bags of beans, which is fair enough, that was a hell of a deal. However, the prices here just keep going up. I get tariffs have made buying coffee beans more expensive and you need to adjust your prices. But now you're charging $10.25 for an alt milk latte with a half pump of flavoring? $1.75 for alternative milk? You are taking the piss Chris. What are you milking the almonds yourself? Congratulations, you now have the most expensive mediocre coffee in town. If you want great coffee for a better price, go to Chrome Coffee and Magpie Coffee Roasters. They are small business coffee shops that don't take advantage of the tariff prices and don't rob you for not being able to drink whole milk. Not to mention their coffee tastes way better.
Sooo delicious and crafted to perfection. This isn't your average coffee shop. These lattes will have you wanting to come back for more! The peppermint bark latte was perfectly sweet and I loved the crushed candy cane. A tasteful touch. The old pine - I wasn't sure what to expect but it satisfied all! The brown sugar and rosemary was a perfect pair with just enough sweetness. Yum! The barista was so kind. There was only one person making coffees and he was focused while maintaining great service. The eating and enjoying area is very cool with the exposed roasting equipment and industrial feel. Plenty of indoor and outdoor tables and overall cozy atmosphere.
I love trying out different coffee houses and this one has been on my list to try for a while now. it was early afternoon and a little busy but the guy working the bar area was super nice and polite. I told him what my usual was at the larger chain coffee place so he made me one similar to my caramel macchiato with oat milk. It tasted a lot smoother than the one I had been used to. I loved it right away. The parking lot has plenty of space to park and inside is busting with good energy. Very clean and friendly establishment. The only downfall was I wanted a hot coffee drink, and it only came in a 12 oz. I do love the way more coffee houses are offering more dairy free and plant-based choices. I will go back cause I did love the coffee and the good energy I felt inside. So if you are thinking of trying this place out, don't wait, you will enjoy it.
Updating my review after coming back for the first time in about 2 years! The barista working when I came in was super friendly and helpful. I was torn between two of their specialty lattes and he gave me advice about what they taste like and which is better in his opinion. I went with the lemon pound cake latte based off his recommendation and was not disappointed! I've never had this flavor in coffee before and I loved it! Definitely tasted the lemon flavor as if it was actually a pound cake, not just artificial lemon juice flavoring. Subtle enough to get that flavor just right without being too sweet. I was a little disappointed to see they don't have liege waffles anymore, but they do have other breakfast options! I got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel and it was good, nothing outstanding but I just appreciated that they had some food options. My total was about $20 for the coffee and sandwich which wasn't bad. It was a chill atmosphere to hang out and get some work done as well. Looking forward to coming back to hang on the patio as it warms up!
In my opinion, OW has the best coffee (beans) in town. I often buy beans for my home brewed coffees and I never find the roasted flavour to be anything but perfect. Each time I have a latte or whatnot, it is the delicious coffee taste that stand out the most. The flavours of the lattes and mochas are usually fairly subtle but the coffee is solid so it's not an issue. I had the lemon cake mocha today and it was a perfect balance of lemon, sweetness, and coffee flavours. I wouldn't say the ambiance or service are wow wow but I usually get a friendly enough barista. Nothing terribly inviting about this particular location and the lattes only come in one size (12oz I believe) at around $5 and some change which is standard for a craft coffee but still adds up. Hence the 4 vs 5 stars.
The vanilla lavender latte is my new favorite here! They offer some small bites, but I stopped in for a good coffee and a very much needed pick me up. Next time I'll make time to grab a bite. My only wish is that they had a location in Sparks. I will however make an excuse to stop in on my monthly rental property inspections. This coffee bar is beautiful and quiet! Perfect atmosphere to catch up on some reading or studying. The lighting was so great that I wanted to catch up on my books, but time is always an issue. Service was over the top! I didn't ask for his name, but loved his upbeat energy. I joined their rewards program by plugging in my cell number and can't wait to come back! I'm a sucker for a good cup of joe.

It's always surprising to me what you can find in Northwest Reno. This location is tucked in the small but mighty Las Brisas Pavilions Plaze (the Squeeze-In and Keva Juice are also here). Parking is somewhat limited, but people were coming and going frequently. Really cool vibe inside with a high, industrial ceiling and lots of glass and light. You can see the coffee roasting taking place as you sit at one of the many tables and counter (there's also outside seating with a nice, open view). I came hoping to eat, but the food options were pretty limited. I think I just saw a breakfast sandwich and a few things in the pastry case. Although the coffee menu is extensive, I'm not a huge coffee drinker and was about to leave empty-handed when I saw the ad for the Coconut Ube Matcha. Everything about that sounded delicious. I was even happier when I ordered and saw the barista hand mixing the matcha (since at some places these flavors can be a pre-mix from a can). Wow, the matcha and the housemade coconut ube syrup did not disappoint. One of the best crafted tea drinks I've had. So good, it kinda made my morning. Will definitely be back! read more

Thank you so much for this, Crystal! We love that our little corner…
I got an email stating they were celebrating their 11th anniversary and were promoting a buy one get one free from May 23 - May 25. So of course I had to go! This offer was at all locations except for the hospital one. I took my mom and we went on Sunday around 9:20 to the Northwest Reno location. When we got there, there was a small line with 4 groups ahead of us but the line moved fairly quickly given there were only 2 people working. I ordered a 12 oz iced breve mocha drogata and WOW! I loved it! You could really taste the mocha and the cinnamon. Immediate win for me! Theres indoor and outdoor seating and it's fairly quiet which would make a great place to study with their free WiFi. read more

I love the convenience of Old World in the Northwest location! While it can get crowded some days, it's much easier to find parking in the private lot rather than on California Street at the Midtown location. My ride or die Old World drink will forever be an iced Mocha Drogata with oat milk and yes, it tastes exactly the same between both locations (we love consistency!). While this location isn't quite as spacious as the other, it's still a nice place to hang out either inside at the coffee bar or table or outside at the adorable patio. Definitely stop by this location if you're in the area and need a quick caffeine pick me up! Don't forget to check out their seasonal drinks menu as well! read more

Um. Yes please. Old World makes it's debut in Northwest Reno! This isn't your basic neighborhood coffeeshop with bitter over roasted beans. This is a high quality coffeeshop with the quality coffee and excellent service. We stopped in during their grand opening and I had a cappuccino. I have not had a cappuccino with so many subtle coffee flavors in soooooo long. The space is smaller than the midtown location but still beautiful and more outside space. And with the roaster in the corner it is so cool looking. I look forward to many coffee dates up here. read more

Finally! A good coffee shop in NW Reno! I have always loved going to the original location on California but was always too lazy to make the "trek" out there and now I can get my mocha drogata fix within 5 mins! There are a lot of other drinks on the menu but I always go for this. The mocha drogata is a must get and it will have you craving it for weeks to come! Amazing and addicting flavors! I also love that there is an outdoor seating area so I can enjoy my coffee next to my dog in the great outdoors. There are a few outdoor tables at the other location but not a patio like this NW location. If you do not wish to sit outside, the seating inside is nice and modern. If I were one of those work from home people, I would definitely work here read more
I absolutely loved this place! Such a cute coffee shop with cute tables and a lot of space. I got the chai latte with oat milk and I will definitely be coming back. Very cute and seems like a good spot to get some work done. read more
Great to have another branch open! They've kept the same design as their midtown location, but in a smaller setting. I went in during their opening weekend, so the place was packed. It was a bit awkward to stand in line as the counter takes up a lot of space that it leaves little room for a line. But this won't be an issue for less busy days. They have the same menu so it's not hard for regulars to adapt to this location. They also have seasonal specials such as a cherry latte! I got the vanilla lavender latte, which was reasonably priced for a 12oz. I expected a stronger lavender taste as the coffee overpowered it. But this is a better option for those who prefer a more subtle lavender taste. Because this was their opening weekend, they were busy. One of the baristas were scrambling to make an iced coffee but the ice was overflowing, so she poked it back into the cup using her bare finger. I understand the staff were a little overwhelmed, but I advise them to be cautious of what they do as they can be seen behind the counter. But this is still a very chic place to hang out with friendly people. It's just better on slower days. read more

I've been coming to Old World Coffee for years to study! I'm a fan of their ambiance when it comes to a good spot to study alone or even with a group of friends. My usual go to's are a Mocha Drogata and their seasonal Lemon Pound Cake latte (my all time fave from here - I wish this was available all year long). I usually order their drinks hot - personally, I do think their drinks taste better hot than iced. Staff is also very friendly as well. One con is that seating can sometimes be limited depending on the time you go. I went to the midtown location more often before this Northwest location opened and sometimes I would end up leaving once I walked in since the seating would be packed and I was looking for a study spot. The Northwest location is smaller in seating, so be mindful when going here to study - you might not get a spot! read more

Wow! I loved the Mocha Drogata (chocolate and cayenne). It provided an enjoyable dance between spicy and sweet with each sip I'll admit I was a little awkward with my first sip from the handle-less cup it was served in, but soon found myself balancing the bowl in my hand like a pro rather than tipping it like an awkward child slurping up alphabet soup. The simple, open, decor and floor to ceiling windows made for an open and welcoming feel. The baristas were both friendly, smiling, and helpful. Great vibe, great coffee, great music... I could sit here for hours. read more

Great place to grab authentic, delicious coffee. The batista is very experienced & friendly. The coffee comes out quickly. The rustic feel to the restaurant is perfect for taking a laptop & studying/focusing on those important things in life. Their food menu is simple yet good. I'll be back with a good book to enjoy some great coffee. 5/5 read more

I love supporting local coffee shops over large chains. This is one of the establishments I frequent. It's 'at the opposite end of town' for me, but it's always worth the trip. It's a beautiful location: lots of windows to let in all the light. The baristas have always been kind and the coffee has been delicious. Would definitely recommend this place! read more

It doesn't matter what location or what item I am order; the out come is always the same. Top Notch! Their coffee is the best in Reno whiteout question. Firefly is their flagship and is a tried and true. But I adventure out and try their single origins whenever I can. And the baristas ensure it pulled right even if it takes two pulls. A plus in my book. Speaking of baristas, they are always welcoming, personable, and looking to make your experience the best they can. It makes me want to come back every time knowing they are excited about coffee. I could go on and on, but here are my must tries: Single origin flat white Nitro or cold brew Single origin short americano Thanks Chris for bringing amazing coffee to Reno! See you next time! read more
Really loved the atmosphere and vibe in this cute coffee shop. Stopped here while waiting for my daughter at swim practice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Really cute coffee shop with some serious machines! It's called a Lab for a reason! Nice patio area in addition to good interior seating. They have alternative beverages to coffee-we had green tea and a lavender vanilla latte-both really good. Service was great but it gets busy here-northwest Reno loves its coffee! read more
