Superica - Enchilada suizas - Tex-Mex Near Me - Cary, North Carolina

First experience at Superica at Fenton in Cary for lunch after a movie on Tuesday. First impression was that beautiful yellow door and the outside dining area with the yellow chairs. Wow...loved it. The inside decor is equally vibrant and light. Our server was friendly and helpful answering questions. I ordered water and noticed that it was poured with no ice. Okay...it was cool so the ice melted. Then no one had ice in their water...the person with tea got ice. I got a water refill and again no ice. Okay it's free...no big deal. Next we got this plentiful basket of chips...they were light and crispy just the way I like. The salsa was two little mason jars with green salsa that our server proceeded to explain what they were...but after I saw they were green I tuned out what she said. Nevertheless we all tried it and all agreed neither was to our taste. My entree was a vegetable enchilada with rice and beans. It was hot when it arrived at the table. Good flavors and fresh tasting ingredients. I would order it again. One person ordered a salad and added the shrimp. She was disappointed when there were only 3 medium shrimp added for $6. A manager just happened to be walking by and she asked him if that was right. He said yes...shrimp are 2$ each, 6$ for 3, 12$ for 6. Wowsa! Inflation?! Anyway...I like my salsa red so I probably am one and done with this eatery. read more

Excellent food and service. Loved the quesadilla. Very filling, good beans, rice, and guacamole and chips too. Would recommend Also very impressive to see front of house being used so well. The service was really the best part of the experience. I forgot my take home desert and they even came out and brought it to me. Put down card to pay and immediately someone took it. Very good service. read more

Tried brunch here for the first time with my hubby. We arrived ten mins before opening on a Sunday and got a booth by the door. The place has cool industrial vibe. Our only complaint was the boots are very very deep. There is no way you can lean back. Next time we will not ask for a booth I got flautas. My husband got pork tamale breakfast. Both were phenomenal as you can see in my photos. My flautas.were bigger than my hand, two huge ones on a plate and very filling. Absolutely love love love the chips and separate dips. This place is a win-win, Taylor our waitress was phenomenal. Very friendly, courteous, and punctual. We will return to try other things on the menu. Highly recommend. read more

Came to try this place this weekend! They start you off with some chips and salsa. These are pretty good, especially the darker salsa, it's nice and smokey. We ordered guac to start and it was fine, nothing special and not enough chips, yet was delicious. 7/10 I ordered the tacos al carbon, with pork belly and a guava glaze. Absolutely delicious. Would order again. Though the bean soup side was not good, would sub that for something else. My partner got the taco dinner which was delicious + rice and beans that were also great. Other than food, the ambiance was great, comfortable tables and nice setting. Service was quick and polite though I didn't appreciate the waiter wanting to shake my hand as I'm about to eat. They are new though, so I'm sure it will get better. read more

Amazing Staff and food. I had the Chicken Nachos off the Appetizer menu OMG THEY ARE AMAZING.... I can never eat regular nachos again lol.. Chef Curt from ATL came out and spoke to us and asked about the food as well.. We really had a great evening and I can't wait to come back.. read more

The wife and I ventured out to Fenton to try Superica ..here are my thoughts . * We were seated at a small table which had uncomfortable seats ..didn't start well. * Server was friendly but we felt she was stretched too thin..never refilled my tea and didn't really pay much attention to us . * The obligatory chips and salsa were ok ..not very warm and very salty * The chicken fajitas were the best part of the experience..good flavor , I enjoyed the tortillas but my wife said "these are the worst flour tortillas I've ever had " Also, we ordered the 1lb fajitas ..they brought us 3 tortillas to start off with ...seriously? We had to wait for more and because of this , the lukewarm fajitas became even cooler . * I will also say , everything was luke warm ..beans and rice included ..no reason for this to be the case. * We are from Texas ..this establishment doesn't convey Tex-mex at all. May try once more ..but doubtful. read more

Jeesh where do I start? Hostess quoted 35-45 minutes for a table, it was 85 minutes. Went to the bar which was full, only 2 bartenders, one of which needs to find another line of work. Only took 35 minutes to get a drink. Waitress was on point and she was the bright spot. The food, incredibly expensive was flavorless, the salsa, 2 different kinds, both were green tomato based. No red salsa in house. Guacamole tasted like it was squeezed out of a bag. The tacos while a generous serving missed the flavor mark. Bottom line: Way overpriced, terrible service and mediocre food. Doesn't sound like a good business plan to me. Needless to say, adios, we won't be back! read more

Have been debating leaving a review because I have always enjoyed Superica but decided I needed to. Saturday night we came in to eat and the food was great as always. Our waitress Angelia was so fun and upbeat and made our experience great. What made this experience bad and why I won't be back is that I witnessed a female manager get in our waitresses face and say nasty things to her. I didn't say anything, but I wish I had which is why I am writing this review. Angelia still was awesome throughout our experience but I won't support an establishment that treats good people that way. Awful!! read more

Best, most unique chips and salsa I have ever had. Really great food with wonderful flavors and seasoning.

I had lunch today with my girlfriends and it was great. Nice ambiance, good service and yummy food. They provide plenty of delicious green salsas and chips. I decided for the Aguachile Tostadas which were absolutely delicious, plenty of food for one as an entree, but I did add a side of avocado I highly recommend this! read more

We decided to try Superica after finding out they had brunch and covered seating on a somewhat rainy day. It was about a 35 minute wait at 1:45pm on a Sunday (they're still getting staffed up and don't want to overwhelm the few servers they have), but they take your number so you can walk around Fenton. We brought our dog and were seated on their adorable patio. I ordered their mimosa fresca which was delicious and my boyfriend also really liked his Bloody Maria. We started with some guac which was a little lacking on the seasoning but still delicious. I ended up getting the huevos rancheros which was very tasty. The tostadas were still really crispy and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered some enchilada dish which he ate in its entirety. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. It will take a bit to get their staffing right, so just be patient. The food was definitely worth the wait! read more

Always great food, service and margaritas!! We usually visit the one in Charlotte but we were happy to see there was a location in Cary when we were in Raleigh for the weekend. read more

We had heard that this was a great Mexican restaurant so we decided to try. It's not great just average. We went to the bar to order a drink while waiting for a table. My wife asked if they had their own version of the Bloody Mary. The bartender called it the Bloody Maria. This was a small glass of vodka and tomato juice, no garnish, no straw nothing. The Tempest margarita was tasty with the added hot sauce For an appetizer we had the hot tamales. We love tamales but these were small and kind of bland. For dinner I had pork belly tacos al carbon. Some of the pork belly was over done and again not very flavorful. My wife had the chicken suizas and again found them just average The reputation of this places Atlanta location does not transfer here. For the price it's just an average meal. There are better TexMex places that charge less and have better food read more

If you're in the area and see Skylar and Erika you won't be disappointed. They were amazing! My bill felt it but is was worth it.

Food was above average, especially for the price. Everything tasted fresh. My favorite part was the free salsas and chips. I also love the atmosphere! read more

After waiting in line starting at 4:15 for a 5pm open, the restaurant started letting small groups of people in at 5pm. By that time, the line was almost 125 deep and no communication was given. We were towards the front and did eventually get in around 5:25 and were told we could wait inside but it would be another 45-60 minutes. Giving two stars because the restaurant looks cool but they did not plan staffing or communicate well. Might see if they figure it out in a few more months and actually get to try the food. read more

We had the best waitress that I've ever had a restaurant! Food was super yummy. The meat was so tender. Beautiful decor.

First - the hostess was so accommodating and attentive. Very impressed the second we walked in. The decor is stunning. We got margaritas - delicious. Food was tasty! Very nice inside could be a great date night or nice lunch! read more

The service and food are great. It's not a huge menu but so far everything has been good.

Superica is such a vibe! The food was delicious. You get chips and salsa for the table. We had the Chorizo Fundido that was amazing. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my brother got an enchilada and they were equally satisfying. The only reason I gave 4/5 is because they were rather busy and service was a bit slow however, our waitress was super sweet. Would definitely come back here with other friends! read more

Loved it! Great food and service. The guacamole was fresh and had a nice balance of salt and acidity--just the way I like it. Another must try is the chorizo queso. You can't go wrong with the fajitas as this is how we gauge the worth of a Mexican place. Some folks just grill the meat and put the sides on. This place SEASONS the meat and the sides. Well done! read more

Wonderful food, excellent service at table. Hosting station needs some customer service training. Waitlist system needs some tweaking as well entered out party of six on at waitlist at 5:45 pm with seating estimated at 7pm. Checked in at 6:50 PM and was told it would be 20 minutes. At 7:30. We asked again and we're told it would be another 30 minutes while we watched other parties of six being seated. No apologies no offer to fix nothing. Very disappointed. read more

Excited to try another Fenton restaurant. we made reservations for Sunday evening. The square of bustling with people as the ice rink was open. We were promptly seated and from there it was a total disappointment. The server was stressed and inattentive. We never knew whether the nice version was coming to the table or the mad one. the cocktails took 40 minutes to arrive as "my bar is busy." The food was mediocre at best. the salad with shrimp had one sliver of avocado with the shrimp overcooked and the salad wilting. My guests dish was better with enchiladas but the puff pastry was saturated in gravy and unflavored. Do not use the rest rooms! Toilet paper on the floor, dirty and not clean. read more

Staff, service and food was awesome. We had 5 small kids with us for dinner on a busy weekend night. They were super friendly and accommodating. The seasoning was just right- not salty. Recommend the green salsa that comes with the chips! read more

It's just not great flavor wise, to each its own! But if you are looking for something flavorful, don't keep high expectations!

A beautiful venue with a new take on Mexican cuisine. We enjoyed her breakfast very much.

Finally got around to trying this new restarting in Cary, NC. It can be extremely busy on the weekends as the crowds grow so be mindful of the wait time. I had a party of 3 with a 30 minute wait one. Saturday night. I will say the wait was worth it. Drinks were amazing and a lot of food options on the menu. The quesadillas and tacos were my favorite! read more

food is super not rica!!!! what a disgrace to tex-mex food being from san antonio,tx.. y'all don't even know how to cook the tortillas right. don't call that mess tex-mex it's nothing like tex mex. you got these poor people from nc thinking thats what our food tastes like oh heck no! enchiladas horrible. not to mention overpriced. go to chuey's at north hills in raleigh waaay better food service and price is cheaper for better taste and they give you lots of food. the flour tortillas are homemade and cooked not like undercooked biscuits. read more

Best food ever!! Went to Superica in Houston and loved it. So I was visiting Raleigh and tried this one. Great food, good service, and a great bar! read more

I would give zero stars if possible. It took forever to have our order taken and well over an hour to get our food. The person who looked like a manager eventually brought us our queso and put directly in front of us and said "here is your cheese." The food taste, presentation, and portion size were all 0/5. The "tacos" came in little tortilla rolls like uncooked taquitos. Even if this food was good the price was double what it should've been. Please save yourself the agony of dining at this restaurant. read more

Painfully short staffed. The food is fine, never spectacular enough to make up for the wait and annoyance of trying to get a table here. They had so many open tables but not enough staff to accommodate the space. With a restaurant full of open tables the wait is still 45 minutes. Only worth your money if you can just walk in, not worth a wait. read more

Had a great time here last night. Good vibe and we had good service as well. Only downside is that they don't take reservations and the wait can be quite long. (Which I guess is technically an upside testament to the quality of the food and experience). When we first tried to visit it was a 90 minute wait and we ended up hitting another spot in cary. Fortunately we tried again and are usually early dinner people (read that as 5:30 or 6) and we don't mind showing up for drinks and hanging at the bar for a while before ordering. The bar is first come first served. Prices are a little on the high end, but seems to be that way everywhere these days. Absolutely worth checking out if you have cravings for southwest and Mexican flavors. Definitely start things out with the queso fundido! read more

Superica - Queso Fondido with Chorizo - Tex-Mex Near Me - Cary, North Carolina

Missed the mark. The food, service, and more were lacking. I am hoping we were there just in an off time and the service was lacking due to staff training. The table was super wobbly so it felt like we were in Pirates of the Caribbean trying to keep our drinks from sloshing over. I think this may have had to do with being at a convertible type table - can be square with the extension down or round with them up. The service was a bit confusing due to staff training. I guess I also expected for a "high-end" shopping and dining location the staff be trained to have at least some experience first. Additionally the lead trainer dropped a wet rag to wipe down tables on top of one of those in our party - so that was unpleasant. The restaurant also apparently allows non-service dogs within the restaurant? There was a small poodle dog sitting in the stroller. One of the bathrooms did not have paper towels and the hand dryer was non-functioning. Just really missed the mark for us. read more

First we were told 35-45 minutes for the wait. Just shy of 1.5 hours later we were finally seated. Having waited so long we ordered immediately. The guac came about 20 minutes later, then our food 5 minutes after that. I can't believe I wasted most of my night on the worst Tex-mex food ever! No flavor at all and barely any meat in the tacos. They were supposed to be stuffed with chicken, lettuce, tomato and cheese. We got some chicken and a bit of cheese. We had a great server though. She was very pleasant. Definitely will NOT return. read more
