Why so many low reviews??? Made me feel for the place to actually write a review... I got the lunch special and I work in Fenton at American Tower and yes cool it maybe on the pricer side of Mexican, texmex, whatever you wanna call this place but you're paying an upcharge for area. Also the food sure might not be like Michelin star but it's so fregggin good and a place I continuously come back to once a week maybe once every 2 weeks during office days. Their lunch rush hits but service is just fine and yes there are days that they are short staffed, use your eyes be human and understand they are trying to attend your needs so chill out and doom scroll your phone. They come to you with chips and salsa one bright green and one more of an olive green one. Bright green is far superior but they both hit. I got the Lunch Enchilada suizas and hard tinga taco and its accompanied with rice and beans and after I had that the first time about a year ago I've been back many times and continue to get that, and mix and match and have a great dining experience each time. I have learned they have a culinary secret in their cremosa sauce that amplifies everything in the meal it seems like a spicy version of the bright green salsa and omg it might be the single best green sauce I have ever consumed. I am only giving this many stars because the service, the ambience and the drinks were all excellent. If you are looking for anything like an authentic Mexican restaurant, this is not the place for you. It is highly Americanized and not necessarily well. The chips were fantastic and I would buy those corn tortillas by the pack! That is where my compliments end. The portions were not large and the quality of ingredients did not make up for it. Stopped by here on a Friday afternoon, before going to see a movie at the theater next door. Located in Fenton (Cary) which is a really nice outdoor shopping/entertainment area. I ordered the lunch special, which came with two dishes of your choice, rice and refried beans. I got the chicken quesadilla and pork tamale. My parents also got the lunch special, but with soft tacos. Portions were an excellent size, and everything was delicious and flavorful! Service was friendly and attentive. I was here for lunch few days ago and loved the whole ambience and style of the restaurant. Very fancy and elegant. The food is Tex mex and I liked what I ordered. Superica is on its way to being 5 stars. Still working out the kinks, but the food is incredible. I don't think there is a better Mexican restaurant in the triangle with this ambience and quality of food. The service was overly friendly, but we waited an above average amount of time for food. The manager apologized for the delay and they solved the issue. It's the nature of the beast these days with lack of workers to make this place 5 stars. Hopefully soon they will get more staff and make this a well oiled machine. In the meantime, I will be back. You should bring your appetite and your patience as they get ramped up. read more

What a special place! I don't think there's anything in the Triangle that's easy to compare to Superica. It's Tex-Mex food, but everything is pretty elevated. They bring you chips and salsa to start. There were two salsas, one red and one green. Both were so good. Started with the Queso Fundido, added chorizo per the waiter's recommendation. It was like the cheese from the top of a pizza. Served with homemade tortillas. Ridiculously good, can't recommend enough. All the tortillas are freshly made. Not just the little ones for tacos like some places do. I got the Steak Fajitas and they were pricey but ridiculously good. I added the jalapeño cheddar sausage as well on a recommendation. I think they cook all the meats over a wood fired grill, because they were just amazing. The fajitas even come with melted butter, which is decadent but maybe a little too rich if you aren't sparing in your application. The meat is the star of that show and it's excellent. Wife got the cheese quesadilla. It was also on a homemade tortilla and tasted like a buttery grilled cheese in the best way. I also had the La Parilla margarita. It's got some different stuff in it and I was afraid it would be too smoky, but it was one of the best margaritas I've ever had. Insanely drinkable and not too sugary like the chain restaurant ones tend to be, so no stomach ache afterward. Pro tip: make sure you join the waitlist online before heading over. We went on a busy Friday and they were running at the high end of what the online system quoted. Walk-ins were being told 2-3 hours. It is worth it but why spend that whole time waiting? Overall, this was a really special experience. The staff were wonderful. I know things have been weird for everyone and the industry is extra hard right now, so having such amazing people take care of you for an evening was really wonderful. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be having a lot of fun, and I did too. read more

We got Margaritas and Guacamole to start off followed by the brisket tacos and quesadillas. Highly recommend the Steak, it was cooked to perfection. I have always really enjoyed Superica. The food is really good as are the cocktails and the service is usually great. However, my son took his girlfriend there for Valentine's Day and they were rushed out within 30 minutes. Visited Superica after Christmas for lunch with a friend. Arrived at noon & put name on waitlist. I was told there was a 45 minute wait. They send a text when your table is ready. As this restaurant is in Fenton with lots of shopping you could easily walk around for a bit. Our table was ready in about 40 minutes. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive & made recommendations without being pushy. We started with 2 different salsas and chips. The spicier salsa was more flavorful & they were good mixed together. We also had guacamole, which was delicious but tasted better with the lime squeeze. My friend and I each ordered tacos: I got shrimp & they got fish tacos. Both were delicious & filling. The totopos were really soggy and the eggs were not properly cooked (as in, the whites of the eggs were still runny in addition to the yolks), which raised some concerns for us as to food safety. Absolutely loved this place. We ended up here on a Saturday and wanted to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine. The hostess was kind and personable and made it happen. I usually try that dish at any Mexican/Tex Mex restaurant I dine at to find the best and this was the perfect amount of cheese and chorizo. For lunch, my boyfriend had the blackened catfish with bacon wrapped shrimp and I had the taco dinner with rice and beans. The tacos and rice were just ok. The beans I did not like at all, there was something off about the taste. I got hard shell tacos because I'm not a fan of flour tortillas and corn wasn't an option (that I saw). But my boyfriends food was DELICIOUS. It was so good that we came back yesterday around 3:30 for lunch and unfortunately they weren't open (meal break to prepare for dinner). Ever since moving from Houston, Texas to Pinehurst, North Carolina we've searched far and wide for good quality Tex Mex. We were thrilled to discover there was a Superica in Cary and on Monday December 19th we decided to go on a field trip for lunch. It was a day, that due to no-shows and flu there were only 3 servers on duty. You staff was very open and above board about the expected wait. Since we'd come so far we opted to shop first and eat second. Once we were finally seated (which was so not the fault of your staff) the food and the service were amazing! Our server was Carlie (?) - a young woman with pink accents in her fair hair.. She kept the chips coming which delighted the 84 year member of our party who declared they were the best chips she'd ever eaten! The Margaritas were top notch and the food as good as anything we'd ever eaten in Houston. Needless to say we will be back - though next time we will opt to get on the waiting list prior to leaving Pinehurst! read more

We came to Superica for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. I've been before and was aware of the online waitlist option, but it was closed due to staffing issues. We showed up around 6 pm to a line to put our name on the waiting list. The host immediately told us that the wait was 1.5-2 hours. She was kind of rude when I told her that we wanted to be put on the waiting list despite the long wait. We ended up walking around the shops and got a notification that our table was ready 45 minutes later. When we got back, we were greeted by a different host who was very helpful and got us a table in the main dining room a few minutes later. Fortunately, the rest of our experience with Superica was great. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. He made great suggestions and even snuck us a few extra flour tortillas. We ended up going on a weekday after a movie and had no issues getting in but don't try to go on Friday-Sunday without a reservation. They had tons of open tables but the front staff said they didn't have the staff to seat in them ‍ Regardless, once we got to eat there, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I do have to mention a little bit of sticker shock when I saw the prices! I've never paid that much for Mexican food in my life but the quality and freshness of the food make up for it. Also, I guess given that they're in a new, more upscale shopping area, they can justify those prices.
