I want to preface this by saying I have been going to Chido Taco for years it is one of my favorite places to bring people to try quesabirria for the first time or just a nice spot. It's a very cute restaurant. However, my best friend and I went to Chido Taco earlier and the food was not nearly as good as it used to be and tasted a lot less flavorful. Also I know I am maybe the last person to be talking about a restaurants music because I don't have amazing music taste but everytime before when I used to go the music was amazing and introduced me to so many different hispanic artists but when we went today it was all songs that you'd hear in a club. We were in Raleigh to see a comedy show at the nearby Martin Marietta Center and had a discount to this place through a local dining club. We weren't famished and only ordered a birria burrito and a shrimp quesadilla. My wife said her burrito was okay but I was very disappointed in the quesadilla. There was little shrimp and mostly cheese; no grilled veggies or other ingredients. We didn't even see any salsa or other condiments. In my opinion, not worth what we paid for it. It's fast casual so you order at the counter and pick up your order when ready. There is a bar area as well but nobody seemed to be tending it when we were there. The food was pretty good overall. The tacos were $4-5 each, which felt a bit pricey but they were still good and definitely satisfied the craving. The queso wasn't my favorite but I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu. The restaurant was clean. I could tell the staff prioritized a clean environment for their customers, they were constantly cleaning while I was there. Even during peak lunch hour, I didn't have any trouble finding a table. The interior was so cute and nicely decorated. One thing to note -- if you're wanting the grilled birria tacos, you need to specifically order the quesabirria. They felt and tasted very authentic compared to a lot of taco joints in the area. The taco sauces and topping were all pretty good too and tasted fresh. Grabbed dinner from here recently before a show, and I enjoyed my food. I came pretty early so it was largely empty, but it was starting to get busier as I left. I ordered a steak burrito and it was pretty darn tasty! Some good crispiness and I liked that they included greens in it, although I would have maybe preferred a salsa in it. There was also a bar that had an OK beer selection, although pretty limited on the draft side. Overall, not a bad time and I'd definitely come back here to grab some food. read more

I've eaten her 10 plus times as the food does taste good hence the 3 stars. It's basically a smaller sized chipotle which is fine but the amount of actual chicken they serve with your order is farcical, lots of rice for sure but very little chicken and veggies. Food tastes good for sure but they need to give a reasonable amount of the primary meat chosen and vegetables not just a bunch of rice. Additionally they add 3% to cost if you don't pay with cash. They have a buzzer situation so just be aware that you probably should not go too far if you're waiting for food. Birria tacos - They were really good and they came with everything you needed to make it great. You could go up to the little bar that had cilantro and onions and all sorts of sauces to help doctor it up if you needed it to be doctored up. But these had a really good flavor and were super juicy even before you dipped them. Chips and queso - The chips were okay, they were chips lol. But the queso what's good. Nothing to complain about. The queso was pretty good. Chicken and Steak taco - So just because, I got a couple of tacos as well. The tacos are actually pretty decent honestly. The steak was a little bit more chewy and I would have liked it to be, but it still had a good flavor to it. The chicken was good as well. Quick stop for some delicious tacos before checking out a show at The Ritz last night. I went with an Al Pastor and a chorizo taco, both were fantastic! My husband went with the Quesabirria taco combo that came with 3 tacos, consome, seasoned rice,and black beans. I will definitely be ordering it next time! They have a fresh topping bar set up where you pick up your order filled with really good sauces, cilantro, diced onions, cucumbers, radishes, limes, and the usual authentic taco fixings. My experience at Chido Taco was excellent! The tacos that I got were really tasty, especially the Al Pastor pork taco. It had a hint of pineapple in it that complimented the pork nicely. My other taco, the beef belly taco, was also very good. I have to admit that it didn't pack as much flavor into it as the Al Pastor one did though. We also ordered chips and queso which were great. The queso had a delicious, complex cheesy flavor with a hint of spiced-ness to it. The service at this location was very prompt. We only waited a minute or two for our tacos. The restaurant has a fast casual setting, and it has plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor). When we were there, one corner of the restaurant looked to be out of its usual order. There were boxes piled up, as if they had yet to organize their stock. I hope that that isn't there usually, but it didn't bother me too much. My biggest impression though -- it was hot in there. Like sweltering. Like way beyond uncomfortable to the point where my group of three had to leave before finishing because we were all so hot. It was in the 90s outside and it would have been more pleasant than inside. Seemed particularly odd because it's a 3-4 year old complex and I went to Bendito back in 2022 and it was not hot at all. I absolutely love this place. 10 stars for the service alone. We saw all the vegan taco options they had here and were immediately interested. Vegan chicken, vegan chorizo, and vegetarian tacos or bowls!?! Not many places offer this many vegan options. We ordered through Doordash where the menu was much smaller and didn't have the same options as the real menu but we called the restaurant and they were able to work with us on modifying our order to how we liked it/making the meat options vegan and they were very patient and helpful to us. We got 6 vegan tacos- 2 vegan chicken, 2 vegan chorizo, and 2 vegetable. The vegetable normally is cactus but we asked if we could just have grilled onions and peppers. We also asked for all flour tortillas. All the tacos were great, but vegan chorizo had to be the best! We also got a side of both queso and guac and cilantro rice and all were amazing. I really loved the queso. I got the steak bowl which was actually sooo delicious and tasted fresh, and adding the guac and queso to it was just the cherry on top. The place is nice, however food not so good, i have tried way more better tacos and more authentic to be honest (personal opinion) i had a carnitas which was okay, a campechano very dry, al pastor and carne asado, both okay. The birria tacos are good but bo the best, they came with rice and beans but there was no flavor on both of them very disappointing at least some salt would have been good.
