First of all WOW! My sister and I decided the night before to come here for brunch this morning. We've never been here before and thought it looked really yummy. The items here are your typical brunch menu items with a few different takes on the classics. The menu isn't as extensive as other establishments and the restaurant itself is small but that's what I like about it. The wait times aren't too bad because the turnaround is relatively fast. They have unique mimosa flavors. We both wanted to try pineberry and dragonfruit and pineberry was my favorite out of the two. I got the chicken fried steak and almond croissant French toast. The chicken fried steak wasn't overly breaded like other places. And the almond croissant French toast was a joy for my eyes and stomach. It was light and airy and the crunch from the almonds was a perfect touch. This option is perfect for someone who doesn't want something too sweet. The food was delicious but the 5 stars really goes to our server Ky! We didn't have to ask for anything like water, utensils, jelly, or coffee or even ask for boxes. Yolk Cafe is a great place to eat, and easily 5-stars when compared to standard breakfast places. The food quality is excellent and very well-presented. I decided to ask for a custom changeup of the Greek Omelette, adding a single lemon ricotta pancake. Everything came out hot and fresh. The omelette was cooked to perfection, and the scattering of ingredients was very nicely done. The potatoes were cooked slightly too crispy and were more salty than what I like. The lemon ricotta pancake was a dressed up pancake which gave a pleasant burst of lemon tartness to go along with the sweet drizzle and side of syrup. The atmosphere feels modern and very clean, and the service was excellent. The only reason I give Yolk Cafe four stars is that I believe it's ready for the next evolution of breakfast bistros. Yolk feels like it wants to go beyond serving high-end standard fare with some dress-ups, and I think it should. I'd love to go back and have a choice of something created that you can't find anywhere else: Like a hybrid of a pancake-crepe, cooked German-style dressed with sweet pineapples; or maybe an assortment of marinated sautéed vegetables served in the bed of an open-faced omelette that was flash fried and rolled in cheese at the end of the cooking for a special crust. This restaurant certainly seems to have all the elements to be one of the most special places for breakfast and brunch in the city, but until then it's still up there for some excellent eats. read more

Well first off, get the classic sweet cream pancakes on your first visit. AAAHHHmmmmaaazzziiiinnnggg! We also got the meat lover's omelet and it was incredible, perfect balance to those sweet pancakes. Next time I will be trying the blueberry bacon pancakes. The food was amazing. I only ordered the traditional breakfast, but they cooked the eggs perfectly, and the bacon was crispy as requested. My family ordered the biscuits and gravy and the Huevos Rancheros, and let me try a bite. Best Rancheros I've every had, and the fam agrees. We went there the day before Easter and the surroundings were definitely Easter themed. Eggs hanging from the roof, little eggs and signs everywhere, and all of the servers were wearing rabbit ears. Speaking of the servers, all of them were very positive and some of them stopped to say hi to my 14 month old sister. This place is really not as great as the reviews make it sound.... like not even close. Like many of you, we were expecting an affordable, well serviced and yummy restaurant for brunch with my husband. Well, let me tell you this place was none of those things. It first started when we were being seated. The hostess wanted to sit us inside (after being on the wait list for 40 minutes). There were multiple tables outside however so we asked to sit outside. She rolled her eyes, and rudely regrabbed two menus. When my husband tried to fill the awkward silence by saying, "it's because the weather is so nice!" - she didn't even respond. Then the food. The food came out quickly however, it was brought out by someone other than our server. Our server hadn't brought utensils to our table so we waited for 10-15 minutes, watching our food, until our server finally came over since we hadn't started eating....... by then our food was cold. The food was REALLY mediocre. Absolutely nothing special, maybe even below standards as you're about to see below. They charged two dollars extra for avocado. For 2 dollars extra, I'm expecting minimum half an avocado. INSTEAD WE GOT 1/6, literally I couldn't even believe how much of a rip off. AND THERE WAS AVOCADO seed residue throughout all of it!!! It was actually disgusting. You'd be chewing a piece of egg and run into a hard texture of avocado seed. You could tell no care was placed at this restaurant for common courtesy, it's super overpriced for being a super basic diner food, and the service is awful. Save yourself the trouble and don't come here!! Plenty of other good bfast spots in town. read more

We asked for something spicier and Eric brought us their salsa verde and that was perfect! They should serve this one alongside the omelette instead, in my opinion The other great part was their coffee We all enjoyed the coffee! They brew Passport coffee and it is amazing!
