Food was average at best. Service was great, restaurant was clean. While my waffle and egg were ok, my wife's chicken fried steak was overcooked. The first one was cooked into a cardboard consistency. The second was ok doneness-wise, but was virtually tasteless. Big yawn overall. Dunno why this place is so popular. read more

The food was great! And the service was good. It was very clean, too, as well as decorative.

My sister and I went here on a rare kid free morning for breakfast. We joined the online waitlist and were told our wait would be about 45 minutes and they would text us when it was our turn. It was pretty true to time and we got there right as our text came through. Some other people waiting outside had not joined the list, and were not too happy to wait out in the 98 degree morning sun for almost an hour. It did look like the staff was trying politely to nudge people just lingering (done eating and drinking and already paid) out to make room; it isn't a big breakfast place like other options in the same area. Also maybe not the best option for big (6+ groups on a weekend morning). We were looking over the menu and asked about the flavors in the mimosa flight. The description said " choose 4 of the following: cranberry juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, prickly pear, pomegranate, stone fruit, dragon fruit, pineberry, peach, grapefruit, blueberry, mango, strawberry rose". We were a little confused because stone fruits are fruits that have pits, which peaches and mangoes are both considered stone fruit, but were listed as separate flavors. When we asked "what flavor is the stone fruit?" the waitress was also confused. We asked if it was a featured stone fruit or a mixture and she didn't know. She had to go and ask and even when she came back, she wasn't sure and told us it "was a mixture of them I guess". We also asked what to expect from the flavor of the pineberry and she said it was a like a mixture of "peach, apricot and strawberry", which were technically already duplicative options of their flavor choices. Raised an eyebrow was all. I went with a Diet Coke, stuck to what I know. I got the All American Breakfast and the menu said it included "home fries" and I was not expecting anything other than what "home fries" have traditionally been everywhere else I've ordered them, but again, raised an eyebrow when the plate came and they were more like scalloped potatoes. Still tasted fine. Bacon was nice and thick. My sister got the side order of biscuits and gravy instead of the full meal and it was definitely plenty on it's own. I was very tempted to get the s'mores waffle or the chicken and waffle, as I saw other tables order it and both looked and smelled amazing. Head's up for those on diets or have dietary restrictions: there are lots of options across the meny, but you will have to pay to change to gluten free options or change your proteins, etc. read more

A bit chaotic because it was so busy when we went there on a later Saturday morning, but our waiter was super friendly. Despite the busyness we were not rushed. Food was delicious and my kids and I liked our beverages. It's a nice and light place, but probably not the place for people that want to leisurely enjoy a weekend breakfast. read more

The food was plain, no flavor to the potatoes. Try putting dice onions. The coffee was by far the worst. Tasted like dirty dish water. It seemed like there was too many staff and nobody knew what they were doing except for a select few. The waitress was very nice and the place was clean. Just needs a little help. read more

Solid food. Good service. Cute restaurant. I had the chicken fried steak and it was tasty along with scrambled eggs, and house potatoes. My niece had the pancakes and she loved them. My sister had the breakfast burrito with chorizo and she enjoyed it, but it was a little spicy for her. Over all good experience. Will definitely come again. read more

Terrible Service...#1 on their waitlist for almost an hour and they kept bringing in other parties before us. Lame excuses about not being able to add a chair to table top for 4, which is what they did for us last year. Hostess told us abother 10- 15 minutes when we checked in, snd uts been almost an hour. read more

Loved it! (Loved the food, I don't drink alcohol). My server was so kind and helpful making food suggestions when I asked. She was very attentive and brought a refill without making me waiting. She told me, "try the pancakes they are delicious." Girl did not lie!!! Those pancakes nearly made me cry they were so good. They were: "the bees knees", "far out", "bussin'", "on point", "giving main character energy" , and just plain old deliciousness. I definitely recommend eating a good hot breakfast here. (My meal was the Southwest Omelet, delicious). The potatoes and sourdough bread that came with my omelet were also perfect. read more

I'm a frequent visitor but this last time we visited was just amazing! The food is always soo delicious, and the manager Tanya was so sweet to us. Our server Ky was on top of everything! I just love this place, the vibes are always 10/10! I hope they open new locations in the future! :) read more

Fantastic breakfast place! The cocktails are a bit pricey but the food is a good value. The owner needs to put a time limit on tables, the guys next to us, 4 hours??? They need to impose a time limit, maybe 60-90 minutes and if you go over a 30% gratuity will be added. The poor server isn't making any money with those guys! read more

It was delicious! Cute location. Not a long wait. Our server was attentive which I enjoyed.

I returned to Sunshine breakfast bar because their pancakes are to die for and I rarely eat carb. The pancakes are light and fluffy with a little crunchy edge around them. They have a tiny sprinkling of powdered sugar and a scoop of butter on top. I ate them without syrup, just butter and they were perfect. The restaurant is spacious inside and they also have outdoor seating. Servers are prompt, friendly. and very knowledgeable of the food they serve. read more

We were driving back to NV and looking for somewhere to fill our bellies for our 4.5 hr drive and saw that Yolk Cafe was on our way and we could join a live waitlist. Decided to take a chance at this place and we so glad we did!! We only had to wait about 10 mins once we got to the restaurant (you can see your progress on the live waitlist on Yelp!). They've got a great coffee and libations menu to go with their expansive breakfast/brunch offerings. We ended up ordering Chicken and Waffles, Chorizo Scramble, Lemon Ricotta pancakes and a side of onion rings. Our server, Maria, was so friendly and awesome! We never had to ask for drink refills and she set us up with more iced tea to go for our long drive. Great food, atmosphere and staff!! Very customer service oriented!! I bookmarked this place for the next time we are in the area. Wish we had a Yolk Cafe in Vegas! read more

I'm giving three stars because the waitress was super nice and attentive. I happened to notice before i started this review that another person had issues with the seating as well and it was not just us. I've only been once and used the Yelp app to check into the line. When i checked in there were 14 parties ahead of us. Fine. My mom, sister and I were all meeting up for brunch and had no problem with the wait what so ever. As soon as we got there I let the hostess know that we had arrived and that we were next up in the list to be seated supposedly. I saw 2-3 tables from what i could see from outside that were in the process of being cleaned off. Two being large enough to seat us easy. So i thought cool we should be in pretty quick since it's already been well over an hour. Again wait is not the issue here at all. I saw another large group with about the same amount as us go in ahead of us when they literally pulled up and talk to the hostess and came back out and were talking amongst themselves saying "oh it's gonna be a bit is there shopping around here?" Then a min or two later they were seated at a booth. Wow...okay... At this point I'm a little peeved. I went up to the hostess and asked if we were going to be seated soon. That my yelp app said "we had been first in line for the past 20ish min." She said the app said "it's normally a 70 min wait." I was like "okay well it's been over an hour so maybe another 30 minutes again? Cool thanks. " Not long after we were seated. We have a bunch of toddlers we just want to get in and out of everyone's hair. I can't wait for the hostess to have kids to see what that's like to bring multiple toddlers and a newborn to a restaurant. It's literally exhausting. So we ordered our food and my sister always orders extra ranch. Never made it out but the server i think noticed something was missing because I totally missed it since my sister was out in the car breastfeeding her newborn and wasn't at the table when the food came out or she would have said something from the jump. Eventually we did get the ranch when we asked towards the end of our meals. I had ordered the steak benedict, my mom the apple waffles and sister the Florentine Benedict and our toddlers shared the chicken strips. The food was mediocre. For the price inflation I feel like we are getting to Vegas with prices and how expensive everything is now a days and for not great quality. I like going out to breakfast to get inspiration and make everything at home and getting quality ingredients from the farmers markets on the weekend. There was a very odd aftertaste and graininess to the Benedict and the English muffin had a very weird taste as well. But since my son was up since 7 this morning and hadn't had a chance to eat until we got there I was starving at this point and never want to be one of those people to complain about my food. I'd rather suck it up and eat it unless it was too spicy which is rarely a problem for me. I did love how innovative some of the pancakes and waffles sounded. Wish i had tried the cinn roll French toast or the blueberry pancakes. I feel like I totally should have went with my gut instinct. Maybe since it was an insanely busy day the hostess was just having an off day to be giving all kinds of weird attitude and the food was just getting pumped out too fast the quality went down? Who knows. I can tell you right now I'll be sticking to butters if I'm in this area. I'm not bashing this place at all it just was not for me. read more

What a lovely time we had. Breakfast was wonderful as was Raya, our server. She took extra time to ensure that we had everything we needed (wanted :). We absolutely LOVE HER. She recommended the banana/pecan/caramel pancakes, since we wanted something sweet. Delicious with the thick cut bacon. Smokey/salty to contrast the crunchy sweetness. read more

Really liked the food and service. Would definitely come again! I got the chicken fried steak and a waffle.

Absolutely awesome. Highly recommended. We loved it so much we went back the next day. The huevos rancheros had the right amount of spicy to the cool taste of the lime crema. The potatoes were thinly sliced to add some starch to the mix. Service was spot on both days. We also had the almond croissant French toast. Nice combination of flavors. Not too sweet. For dessert we enjoyed the cinnamon roll topped with a silky cream cheese icing. We can't wait to go back. read more

Had a great breakfast with the family today. Party of 8 and used the Yelp Check in feature. For such a big party is nice to use this when you have kiddos that are hungry. My wife had the Eggs Benedict and enjoyed it a lot. Big enough to share for sure. I had the cinnamon roll French toast and it is so well balanced. Moist cooked to perfect. Our favorite here is the bacon. Simple perfectly cooked thick cut bacon. Our kids had the pancakes and French toast sticks and they ate those quickly. Great atmosphere out of the patio with the misters on. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive from N. Peoria to eat here. Wish we could get some good breakfast places like this in are area... Until then this will be our go to! read more
