OMG, yes!!! It is so hard to find seafood of this quality. You will pay more than the average seafood place but it is well worth it. The Seared Tuna Nachos were the most amazing appetizer, followed by the LEO'S SEAFOOD LETTUCE WRAPS, which we liked second most. The only negative thing I would say about the lettuce wraps is that they are not actually wraps but seafood on a bed of lettuce - however, still wonderful!! In town on vacation and ate here with the family tonight. We went right at sunset and ate outside. Breathtaking view and fantastic food. The tuna nachos were my favorite! A must have. The muscles looked fantastic, but I personally was not a huge fan of the liquid they were in. My husband had the shrimp pasta and cleaned the bowl. The kids portions were perfect and was pleasantly surprised to find that the chicken one was pretty much a chicken breast cubes and fried. Not impressed. Our waitress didn't even go over the specials, we only knew there were any when we heard another waiter telling his diners. Husband Had the Fish N Chips, he said Mrs. Paul's were better. They were overcooked and the sweet potato fries were burnt. I had the shrimp pasta, with "fresh" shrimp. The shrimp were not fresh, they were very small and rubbery and did not taste good, obviously frozen and not gulf shrimp. The sauce was watery. Will not go back. read more

We have been staying in the Fairhope, AL area. Since we're near the marina we wanted to find some good seafood for dinner. We were recommended to go check out Sunset Pointe and was told they were also features on the Food Network. That sealed the deal. The place is right off the marina and super casual. It's not a huge restaurant. Very simple. We started out with drinks from the bar. The drink menu along with the food menu didn't have a huge selection. I ordered a margarita to be safe. It was ok. Not much sour flavor and a bit watered down for my taste. We order the crab meatballs as an appetizer. You get 3 small meatballs. Each one sitting in a different aioli sauce. Those were very good. The Sunset Point had Snapper Throats featured on the Food Network. Which is what I ordered. The waitress came back and told me they were out. I ordered Seared Tuna as my alternative dinner. She came back a second time and said they didn't have any tuna either. My third choice I picked fish and chips as a safe option. It was disappointing. The fish is not beer battered but breaded and under seasoned. The menu description says it's served with sweet potato chips. Of course I think sweet potato fries since the "chips" in fish and chips means French fries. They're literally huge sliced up sweet potatoes fried as giant overly fried potato chips. Overall I gave this place a 2 star because the fish and chips weren't very good. This place could possibly be a 5 star if they actually had the dinner I wanted to eat but my first two choices they didn't have on hand. read more

We tried Sunset Pointe for the first time tonight. It was a beautiful evening to sit outside and watch the sun set over the bay on our anniversary. The sweet tea and crusty bread were amazing. Everything was perfect until they brought our food. My dinner was ok, but my husband ordered the fried fish and chips and it was awful. I could tell it was over cooked when they served his plate. The fish was dry and the coating looked burned. The sweet potato chips were burned, as well. When we told the waitress about the dry fish and the burned chips, she said customers always think the chips are burned, but that's just the way they are. In the end, my husband did not get to eat dinner, they still charged him for it though and all they did was offer a free dessert. He didn't want dessert. He wanted dinner. Visiting from Houston and came in for lunch. Great coastal type atmosphere with solid beer and drink selection. The patio is great and most of the restaurant has views of the marina. Terrible experience at one of our favorite places to eat. Waited 20 minutes at the bar to get a drink. Once seated our guests ordered a drink. When she brought them we tried to order and they were out of a dish on the menu that we wanted. This is not the first time this has happened. The waitress then left us and never came back for our second order. Several issues. Understaffed, if something is on a very limited menu then it should be available no matter how many people order it, if you are limited then it should be a special. Absolutely Fantastic!!! Great family place and great service. Food options were plentiful and obviously fresh. Wish they had crab claws, but the grouper "bights" did not let us down. I would definitely recommend sitting outside closer to 7pm for sunset. It was rather hot in direct sunlight at a few tables before outside. They do their best with fans and misters. A couple times I've ordered off the entre menu and my meal was very good. But I really enjoy their appetizer menu. We think of it like a tapas night. The crab meatballs and tuna nachos are delish. But so were the BBQ shrimp and the mussels (ask for lots of bread for both). For dessert, had the bread pudding and key lime pie in a jar; both were very good. They don't take reservations and the dinning room can get a little loud, but you have to just go with the flow. read more
