This sets right on the coast! Although the food didn't knock my socks off - the view was worth every second here. Don't get me wrong - the food was good. The set up was odd. As a newcomer, we had to guess where to order and how to get our food. It wasn't clear as mud nor was there someone around to explain the system. Meh. Passing thru Fairhope stopped here for lunch. Too expensive for too little food. Fish wrap on menu sounded good (Gulf fish). But their Gulf fish =catfish. On a Sunday we were trying to find a place to eat in Fairhope and everything rated 4 stars or higher we had been interested in trying but weren't open. Out of desperation we saw sunset point and were like "well it's open". We pulled in and were pleasantly surprised. Our server Grace was pleasant, knowledgable, and accommodating. She was a joy to have as a server. Her suggestions were on point. We had an order of chargrilled oysters and they were delicious. We decided to split a sunset point salad as an appetizer and we were surprised by the size and how hearty the salad was. All three dressings were light and delicious. I got the grilled snapper on a bed of broccoli, topped with crab and it was grilled perfectly. It was succulent and light and nothing was overpowering or seasoned too heavy. We celebrated my best friend's birthday here last night. The cocktails were fabulous. We had some appetizers (crab meat balls, kamikaze chicken, seared tuna nachos) all VERY delicious!! The grilled shrimp and sautéed kale was fantastic. Also enjoyed the local Fairhope beer. The bread pudding is also definitely worth a try. Wow, what a gem! Great view over the marina, relaxed vibes, fresh seafood and zesty flavors. I was heading back from a beautiful day at the beach when I yelped across sunset pointe. We ordered the Mediterranean tuna crudo for a starter- unexpected flavor combo but all fresh and tasty. That was followed up split a blackened shrimp salad and grilled grouper sandwich. Farm to table...more like marina to mouth! The tastiness didn't stop with our food. I ordered the "cool as a cucumber" - a riff on the gin gimlet with some cucumber syrup, rosemary and basil. Refreshing as some aloe on the sunburn I'll surely have by the time I get back home. 10/10 would go back. read more

Great place to dine! The friendly staff was awesome! From the host to the servers! Even a manager came out to help with the seating since they had a rush! Great job! We actually went back last night just to try more on the menu. Im unsure about the names of dishes so I'll try.... We started the night with a special of oysters! It was chargrilled with a cheese and Billy's bacon! Wow!! Wow!! We went back the next night to just have oysters but they were out. Please bring this as a regular menu item! I had the grilled shrimp with sweet potato chips. Shrimp was a little salty (could have been the blackening, and the chips were a little over cooked.) My husband had the Tuna which was great! My teen had the Mac n cheese with crab which was....delicious!! The 2nd trip we had lots of appetizers! The crab cake dish was really good (again seemed a little over cooked but still good!) The second dish we had was the bbq shrimp which I loved. He also loves the tuna tacos! That was his fav! We also had a lettuce wrap dish..it was good but would suggest you have it on a hot day and need a cold dish! Still, it was good! We ended the night with a dessert. The blackberry bread pudding. Now I'm a dessert critic! It was good but there was no wow factor to it. I felt as though I were just eating a sweet bread with a few blackberries. I would live to see more sauce on the bottom of the plate or a side of ice cream with the sauce on it. I wanted to be able to taste all flavors in most of my bites instead of two. I'm totally disappointed as my husband and I come here frequently, but tonight we arrived at 920pm and were told we could not be seated as they don't seat after 9pm. We both worked in the restaurant business and that was never acceptable. This establishment clearly reads that it closes at 10pm. Forty minutes is plenty of time to serve guests as we've sat and dined in fifty minutes at this establishment during lunch while waiting for our soccer player to practice. Possibly should consider publishing that close is at 9pm. read more

First let's talk about the great views and atmosphere! 5 stars for sure! We sat out side on the picnic tables and it was around sunset, so the whole "cheers" and "glasses up" as the sun was setting was extremely cute! The peach mango infused sweet tea was a great compliment to the vibe. They have happy hour until 6:30 (5 dollars a plate) and the fried portobello mushrooms with ranch dipping sauce was amazing! I ordered the snapper throat and it was.... tough. It came with some mustard greens and sausage couscous. The meal was a solid 2stars. It isn't a meal I'd ever order again. But what I would order over and over again is the key lime pie and the BREAD PUDDING!!! To die for! Just do yourself a favor and order the desserts first. read more

Decided to eat here at Sunset Pointe with some friends. We sat inside and arrived early. AC is nice during the summer but if it was not so hot, the outside seating would have been better. The high tops are comfortable as was the bar area. Our sever was great, she was attentive and fast with the drinks special she recommended. The tuna ap and fried okra were standard tasting but the snapper with skin on was very good. Just wish the filet has a few less bones but not complaining as the snapper was fresh and cooked perfect. I would return for sure and sit outside after the sun sets or inside at the bar facing the bay. Nice place!! read more

An absolutely perfect dinner and beautiful views. This is a quiet little place that seemed like a local favorite. We were able to walk right in around 7 pm and went straight out to the patio area to sit by the water. Beautiful and awesome. The food came out nice and hot. One word to describe this food. Delicious. I had the Shrimp Pasta which was possibly the best I've ever had. I can't say enough about the service as well. They were attentive and such nice people. This is one of our "must visit places" when we are entertaining family and friends from out of town. Their bartender makes the best old fashioned in Fairhope. Grab one and have a seat around the fire pit and be prepared to toast an amazing sunset. The food is unique and always delicious and the wait staff is super friendly. read more

Sunset Pointe has a great location and nice atmosphere. The issues are that they don't have quite enough staff and their food is way too spicy. I ordered the crab Mac and cheese an it was so spicy it was inedible. My daughter who loves spice tried it as well and also found it way too hot. No spice was mentioned on the menu. Same thing happened with my friends burger. If you like your food so hit it eats your stomach lining this place is for you. Otherwise if you can't handle high heat then I'd choose a different restaurant. read more

Sunset Pointe was a great discovery. If u r in area, don't miss this restaurant. Our party of 4 shared 4 small plates and the sunset pointe salad also. Just the right amount. I ordered the ahi tuna nachos. Tuna excellent but would have liked more tuna and little less of the toppings. Would also recommend to chef to add little more sauce to the toppings and mix before serving. It was a lot of diced onion, tomato, etc and could have used more flavor. The husbands favorite was the BBQ shrimp. We shared the key lime pie and a chocolate dessert that was scrumptious. The atmosphere was great and the staff were awesome! And of course the sunset!! Sunset pointe is the place to go, especially when it's good weather. It is priced correctly (how rare is that these days?) and the view at sunset is spectacular. The Snapper throat is by far the most flavorful fish meal I've ever had and is worth the price of admission, so to speak. There is also a shrimp pasta that is to die for. Between the atmosphere/view and quality food with quality pricing it is easily a top 3 restaurant in all of south Alabama. read more
