We came to see the sunset and have a couple of drinks my hubby and i got a rum runner ($13) and a piña colada ($11 but i added a floater shot for $2) Let me tell you this was the BEST piña colada i have ever had, was like a dessert with a happy ending hahaha was simply amazing. The view is great, get there around 6:30pm to drink and watch the sunset. Service is a little slow but to be expected for all the tourists. If you get there at 6:30pm and order, you can have a drink or two to watch the sunset with and be done with everything around 8pm. Yuca fries were actually pretty good, i would definitely recommend. Walking through Mallory Square at sunset I just stumbled upon Sunset Pier and I wasn't totally disappointed. The view was amazing, however finding a spot to enjoy the view is very hard - especially during sunset and on. I walked around for a bit people watched until I found a few seats open up.. After finally snagging a pair of seats I waited for a waitress to appear, but unfortunately one did not - I ended up ordering at the bar and carrying my drinks over. I visited Sunset Pier 2xs during my visit in Key West once during the daytime and once during Sunset both times they had a live band playing which is great. To be honest, If I wasn't passing through the area Sunset Pier would not be on my list of go to spots - the service is poor and it's over crowded. read more

They have some great prices for happy hour. They also have this bucket for 12$ with House Rum ( which is really good and strong) OJ, pineapple juice and cranberry juice. We were lucky to get a spot on the rail for best viewing, but make sure you get there early for a pick of seating, especially if you have a larger group. I'm giving this rating for my last 2 visits. Each time I had a painkiller and I must say this. Expensive and a very light pour. Now I don't drink much, 1 drink if I do and my last 2 drinks were just sub par. Tasted good but way too light on the rum. And I don't want a crazy strong drink, but a little rum taste would be nice. The music on the pier is excellent. The food very good. But I'd you are going to charge 11 bucks for a drink it should be exceptional as well. Just saying. Sunset Pier is amazing! Ended my first day of my first trip ever to Key West by watching the sunset here and I was not disappointed. The views alone at this place are reason to visit, but pair that with ice cold beer and friends and you have a winning combo. They also had the most amazing live band here. They kept the crowd dancing all evening and were so fun to listen to. While we didn't eat here, the food being taken around did look pretty tasty. The pier is a bar area with some tables and high tops bordering the Pier. We arrived around 5ish and it was pretty packed - so if you want somewhere to sit I'd suggest arriving in the early afternoon and staying until sunset. We luckily found a good spot by the bar, and got drinks easily the entire time we were there. Will definitely come back! read more

What a fun spot!! Located at the Ocean Key Resort, the pier is a great place to hang out, enjoy a drink, some great food and music. The view is awesome, the service was great despite the fact that the servers have to walk down a long pier. The tables are all painted in fun Caribbean colors with matching umbrellas, it is just a happy place. Mr. B ordered the Tuna and Chips with a Key Lime Tartar sauce. The portions were quite large, it really was enough for two which would make it a lighter lunch. He said it was very good, not much was left in his basket. The southern most point on Key West is only 90 miles from Cuba and with the Cuban Sandwich a great Florida favorite, I opted for the Cuban, great choice. Shredded pork with ham, pickles and a wonderful sauce served on a roll and then flattened a bit, similar to a panini, it was wonderful. Served with french fries, I ordered a small side of the Key Lime tartar sauce to dip the fries with, I know weird, but great! Felt underwhelming and only one piece of fish but an over abundance of toppings to split between the 3 tortillas. It was just fine. Not good or bad but for 25 dollars I expected more fish. We end up being there for over three hours, as we enjoyed the following; Drinks: Mojitos for him and pina coladas for me. I didn't like my drinks because I barely tasted the alcohol in them, but the mojitos were fine and well done. Hamburgers: I had their burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and crispy, tasty bacon. That bacon along with the medium well-done burger was so good. I loved how juicy it was. The bread was not my favorite, because it was a little dry for my taste. Fajitas: These chicken fajitas, were freshly made, accompanied by a salad, a delicious sweet roasted corn, and an amazing green spicy sauce that I loved. The sun disappears right behind this little island that sits right across the water from this spot. To be completely honest the food was not that great, it was cold and our server was a bit rude. She did not acknowledge us when we made eye contact upon sitting at the table and then proceeded to take care of customers around us that had just come and we'd been waiting for about 15-20 mins prior. I ordered a piña colada, and my other ordered a strawberry lemonade. My drink was good however, he wasn't too impressed with his. They have a very limited selection of food, I got the Mahi Mahi tacos and he got the burger. Both very much so ... meh. I solely gave this 4 stars for the view alone and maybe the piña colada.
