Beautiful views of the sunset. This will be our first stop upon arriving to key west moving forward (even more motivation to start the drive earlier ). There are plenty of tables along the pier, although they do fill up fast, and if you want a good view of the live music, i recommend you get there even earlier. The drinks are made well, we did not get to try the food but at that time (Sunset on a Friday) they had a limited menu made up of mostly bar food. read more

The pretzel bites appetizer is a little misleading and not what we had in mind but the cheese was tasty. The chips and guacamole were amazing, only place we could find with such an appetizer. The pork belly tacos are where it's at. So delicious. Shrimp tostadas were good but would be better if the shrimp was hot. read more

This place was alright, and thats me being nice. Before anything, the best thing about this place was the view as you are basically eating over the ocean and its a very nice vibe. I came during lunch on and Wednesday and it was practically empty. We werent greeted or seated when we first walked up and had to ask a server to be seated. Very unwelcoming at first but they do have live music. Once we sat down, our server was actually very nice and informative which helped calmed the nerves a bit. There isnt alot of food options on the menu as i figured this place was more of a bar for people to get buzzed. We ended up ordering the seafood platter ($100) which the waiter said was more than good enough for our party of 3. MAN, the food comes and everything is on ice and cold..... which was not totally bad as long as the seafood was fresh, the food would still be good. Unfortunately, the lobster was VERY tough to bite and chewy and not fresh at all and the civiche was actually good surprisingly and the cold shrimp was decent as well. The platter also came with a tuna poke plate, but thats it. 4 random priced plates for $100.... Definitely overpriced even if the restaurant is oceanside. Definitely wont be back to try again as i felt i was robbed for the price after we left. read more

We stumbled on this place accidentally when at Mallory Square for a sunset on a Saturday night. We were drawn to it because we at first saw a girl selling beer - after we got beers, we realized there was a sitdown area right on the water. We didn't think we'd find a seat, but sure enough another couple was leaving and we got to sit on a bar top right on the water. There was no wait...so we just lucked out. Service was great. I had a watermelon cucumber mojito which was very good. We ordered appetizers since we weren't super hungry. First came the smoked fish dip which was served with crackers and veggies. EXCELLENT. We also had the Cuban sandwich, which was also VERY GOOD. I highly recommend this place during a sunset - the views were spectacular, the food great and the service very good. read more

We stopped by Sunset Pier last night for a quick drink/bite, and to see the sunset. The view is nice, it does get a little crowded, but my review is specifically for the food and drink. My party of 4 ordered 2 rounds of drinks, totaling over $75, and these drinks were the absolute weakest drinks I have ever had. Truthfully, I'm not even sure if they had any alcohol in them. For food, we ordered the ceviche and the pretzel bites and we were all SHOCKED by how B A D everything was. The ceviche was not fresh at all and the plantain chips that came with it were not crispy, and the "pretzel bites" consisted of 3 cold and stale pretzel rolls with a side of cream cheese covered in shredded cheese........ yuck. My advice, just grab a 6 pack of beer and watch the sunset set at Mallory Square right next door, you'll probably have a better view and save yourself a bit of disappointment. read more

Best view in Key West I think. They had some hurricane damage so the pier is being rebuilt...should be complete soon I think. It it have the stress sliding off you just sitting having a cold drink looking at the water. read more

Went twice over our 3 day stay in Key West! Food and atmosphere were perfect for us! Just romantic enough while being casual and lowkey. We enjoyed the water and it wasnt too busy (went on a tuesday evening before sunset and a monday afternoon). Service was awful the first time (rude waitress, brought two pina coladas instead of one, never brought our waters, and didnt come to check on us at all after bringing our drinks for atleast 15-20 minutes..... I had to track her down then and ask for waters and our check. She was eastern european in accent and perhaps her culture is more curt/doesnt check on patrons but this seems like something better training would take care of?) Service was slightly better the second time - we had a waitress along with one in training, they did fairly well checking on us, though i did have to track them down to get the check after a long period had passed and we were ready to go. They were much more polite. Also european from what i could gather accent wise. Food: pina Colada was AMAZING (the reason we went back the second time) - so creamy, coconutty, with just the right amount of alcohol and sweetness. The chocolate frozen drink (cant remember the name) tasted like alcohol and herseys syrup - we didnt even finish it actually. The Yucca friez with chorizo are something we have tried to recreate at home already! So good. The fish tacos were great as well. Only thing we didnt like were the plantain chips in the coleslaw - it actually detracted, flavor and texture, from the coleslaw whenever we got one in a bite. read more

Best place to watch the sunset. We stayed at the hotel there and got to view the pier activity every night. Live bands were great and we even got serenaded on our balcony from one of the performers. The first night we went, we got a great table, drank Painkillers, peel and wat shrimp, crab cakes and oysters. We talked and laughed with tables around us and enjoyed the gorgeous sunset! Get there early enough to grab a good table to see the sunset and watch the boats go out and then come back in from sunset tours! Can't wait to visit again! read more

Pretty much all 3 stars are for the location/view. Food was so-so. Nothing special. Drinks were ok. Beer was almost cold. Wait staff was fine and they have a guy who gives you a free photo of you and your party. Ok fine, I'll give it one more star for that guy. Beautiful and lively place, just wish the food/drink were better! read more

This is one of the best places on the water to sit and relax. Great view of the ocean. Lots of seating. I've come here two times for the views but have tried two drinks and a bucket of garlic fries. Drinks were very boozy which is good haha. The bucket of fries was cute but man oh man those fries do not fall short of flavor. I think these fries need to be redesigned because there's so many whole pieces of garlic sitting on the fires that you could keep a vampire away for a week! The flavor never leaves your mouth until you brush those pearly whites. There's basically too much garlic which makes it inedible unless you like eating raw garlic. I would recommend this place for drinks and a view but I'd skip the food. read more

Definitely would recommend stopping by here for a quick bite to eat on a nice day! It's right on the water with a gorgeous view at sunset (hence the name). We ordered the turkey sandwich (9/10), burger (10/10), Cuban sandwich (7/10), garlic fries (10/10), and conch fritters (10/10). We had a great time listening to the live music. We didn't ordered drinks but they did have a great selection. The price was also not bad at all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area! It's also important to note that all of their seating is outside, and there were some fruit flies flying around, but that's to be expected with an outdoor restaurant. *Bathrooms were very clean as well! read more

Awesome! My husband and I had a fabulous time here. We were staying in Miami and rented a convertible to drive down to the Keys for a day trip and decided to stop here to eat and chill. We parked, sat at the bar and enjoyed some drinks (a virgin pina colada for me since I'm pregnant). Drinks were delicious! Our bartenders were both very nice and fast with service. I ordered the mahi tacos and my husband had the quesadilla. We both enjoyed our food and felt that the quality, portions, flavor and overall menu, were all on par with the atmosphere and prices. We were very pleased. Though, what made our experience even better was the incredible views of the oversized exotic sailboats and cruise ships that passed by so often AND the live music. An incredible 2-woman band, Raven Cooper, just made our whole experience THAT much better. Overall, very pleasant experience with great drinks, food, service, location and music. Can't wait to go back! read more

This visit missed all steps. From the "sweet tea" to the to the lack of offering dessert. Our waitress informed us that the thing changed after Covid, like not offering any vegetables or not having silverware come out until the food get cold. The live band called on the good spirits but I think they failed to join us because everything was other than good.. other than the view. You played yourself Sunset Pier. Sunset pier serves a lot of different purposes. 1. Watching the sunset. 2. Eating and drinking before, during or after sunset. 3. Listening to live music. 4. People watching. Regardless of the reason you come here, there is always something good to see. I've been here for all 4 occasions I listed. 1. If you go for sunset, be early. The overflow from Mallory Square pours into this place. 2. The service can be really slow. There are many times it feels as though the servers are running around but getting nothing done all at once. It also appears as though they don't have sections; they just go up to the tables that looked like they may not have been served. 3. Each night has new live music to offer. Every time we come here, we enjoy it. 4. People tend to have 1 or 2 too many for sunset, and it ends up being a comedy act as they try to leave. If you're not pleased with the service and you want just a drink, you can go to the bar and order for yourself. My overall ratings: The service--3 The food--4 The view--5 After sunset, the lighting is pretty cool. It's a solid place to come and hang out, have a drink or two. View and music is good but food is horrible! If you are here to eat this is definitely not the place for that!!! We ordered the tuna poke, the peel and eat shrimp and the Cuban salad all were overpriced, my salad was $20 and had 4 shrimps on it!! The tuna had no sauce or seasoning on it, the shrimp was chewy like a 2 days old boiled shrimp! I do not recommend! read more

Not the best beer selection. Only local beer, and local isn't good at all. Great venue as it's on the pier - great view. Caught a drink right before hurricane Elsa. The best part was seeing the bartender (bare hands) preparing customers's food and taste testing fries. Use your imagination...lmao +1 star for the entertainment read more

This place you go to sit and enjoy the view, because it does have gorgeous views of the water on that side of key west. Tables are large and sturdy with nice umbrellas. It caters to tourists and the food is just ok, seemed most food was simply the reheat and pretty up variety. Generic type bar food. Beers and drinks however were cold and good! read more

I feel like this place gets a bad wrap. I stay at this hotel multiple times a year and have quite a few meals here. Only once has my meal been slightly over cooked and they fixed it beautifully for me. Honestly it can feel kind of awkward where the service is concerned as you seat yourself and hope that on a busy night someone noticed you but other than that the service is friendly and with a smile. The coconut shrimp is really good, also the tacos are to die for. The quesadilla is also really good, the kids ate it up without complaint and it is huge so it fed them both just fine. The corn that comes with all of the entrees is also really really good and I should know, I come from the Midwest . Also if you get the Caesar salad add the blackened fish!!! Drinks and menu are pricey but look at the hotel it's connected to. Don't walk into a restaurant that is connected to one of the most expensive hotels on the island and expect anything for cheap and then complain when it's a little over priced , it just doesn't work that way. In the end, if you need a decent place close to Mallory Square this is it. read more

The spice they had for the boil had a sweet taste might have been the premade seafood boil seasoning. Thats what it tasted like to me .Wasn't to my liking. Something was eh about it. The fried oysters had a but if a fishy taste no go. I know a lot of places weights the seafood but the portions when they came out it was more like they added more corn and potatoes. For the price definitely wasn't worth it.

I was a little bummed we didn't get to see the view, but the ambiance inside is lovely too. Their menus light up which was so helpful in a dark restaurant. Our server was super helpful and made some great recommendations. We tried a few different small plates to share and enjoyed a few cocktails. Absolutely love the desserts here. Food: I always enjoy when a restaurant offers a creative and inventive cocktail menu. I won't go into detail on each one, but they were all very good, especially the Spiced Old Fashioned. At our server's suggestion, we ordered a couple of plates of the Grilled Ciabatta Bread. The bread was nicely grilled, and the roasted garlic manchego butter made it especially delicious. I normally try not to fill up on bread, but this was absolutely worth it. We ordered an eclectic mix of small and large plates. Some of the standout dishes included the Lobster Mac and Cheese, Swordfish, and Crab Cake. The Brussels sprouts took top honors, perfectly roasted without being greasy, full of flavor, and complemented by a generous amount of bacon. The one disappointment was the Pork Shank Osso Buco. While it was tender, it was only warm and a bit underseasoned. It was good, but not great, especially for someone who enjoys pork shank dishes. We saved room for dessert, and they were all crowd pleasers. My personal favorite was the Cuban Bread Pudding. The Chocolate Pistachio Crème Brûlée was also unique and delicious. Service: We had reservations for 7:30 and were seated promptly. The hostess and our server did a great job of making us feel welcome. The entire two-hour meal was well paced, and we always felt attended to. I was especially impressed with the backlit menu portfolios. They made it easy to read in the evening without guests needing to use their phone flashlights, which was a thoughtful and effective use of technology. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they placed a sign on the table acknowledging the occasion, which was a nice touch. It would have been even better if one of the desserts had included a lit candle. Atmosphere: The setting is beautiful. We were seated in a smaller dining room with several other tables. When we first arrived, there was a larger, very boisterous group nearby, and it made it difficult to hear our server. Fortunately, they left about 30 minutes into our meal, and the atmosphere became much more relaxed and enjoyable. Our waterfront view added to the experience. This was a very special evening. It was also the most expensive meal we had in Key West, so it was reasonable to have high expectations. With a few improvements, it could have been a five-star experience. Definitely a place we would return to.

We did notice that the cook stepped away for a long time while our conch fritters were in the deep fryer cooking, causing them to be overcooked. However, we were the only customers there, so they could have easily remade a fresh batch that was not overcooked. I would not try this shack again or recommend it to others.

I also noted that it was a birthday dinner which the server also recognized by bringing out dessert at the end of the meal. We all absolutely loved our food and the service was top notch. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu, friendly, and never kept us waiting or wanting for anything. He brought clean flatware between courses and kept our beverages full. I enjoyed the Heart of Palm salad with added grilled shrimp which was plentiful. Others at the table had the snapper (whole fish!), lobster fettuccine, and roasted chicken. We also devoured the lobster Mac and Cheese as a starter. I would definitely recommend dining her if you want higher end service and food right on Duval Street.
