First off, these people deleted my review two times because I updated my initial review and they deleted two other reviews that were poor reviews from three months ago and six months ago - from other people who visited their very poorly ran establishment. My review stated that not only are they trying to upsell you, they also are very very expensive. Apparently I am unable to say exactly how much I paid for two pairs of glasses, but I did let them know I was unable to pay the other half because it was way too much money after doing extensive research on just how bad they mark up their glasses. I would advise strongly, and I mean, extremely strongly, never ever go to these people. It's dirty. I've been here twice. Even after I told myself I wasn't coming back after the first time. The only reason I did was because they had a pair of RayBans I wanted. They have weird hours and the two men who work here rush you in and out. Just pay up and leave seems to be the motto. Anywho, those glasses I wanted, two months after getting them, the lenses start cracking. So I took them back and he was trying to blame me. He knew it was their fault so he said he'd fix them just this one time only. Well here I am three months later and the lenses are cracking in several places again. He kept telling my son to stop playing games, his whole demeanor and condescending behavior, I feel was making my son nervous. This has to be the absolute worst place. I regret ever coming here. It's been 3 months since i went in to get contacts... i still do not have them. There's been a lot of b k and forth from the guy who answers the phone and the doctor. They submitted my claim wrong to my insurance twice. This was my first visit to Sunrise Optometry, which happened by coincidence while I was getting service next door. The location was convenient, right next to Kohl's department store. Although I didn't purchase eyeglasses during this visit, Mr. Charlie, who welcomed me, was friendly and provided excellent customer service. He clearly consulted with me on which frame and color would suit me best, and there were plenty of options to choose from. I was not happy with the overall service. The biggest problem after waiting 4 weeks for my class, I was told the glasses would be in by Friday. I checked on Monday after and I was told I wouldn't receive my glasses unto March which is 8 weeks. The office guy said it was the manufactures fault. The staff here feels like family. Very warm and funny. While waiting for eyes to dilate we had fun conversations and time flew by. I plan on coming back here. Do not use this optometrist. I tried them out and when I went to purchase contact lenses I spent $170. And they told me to pick them up in 2 weeks. When I'm went to pick them up, they asked me to pay $170. I said I already paid isn't it in your system? They said no it's not and that I did not pay. I told them I'm not paying and I'll check my credit card statement for proof. They started going through physical receipts scattered around their office. I said it's fine I'll get my own proof. After about 15 minutes they found the receipt and finally let me leave with my contacts. They are very unorganized and if I didn't remember paying they would have overcharged me. I brought my son to do a exam here and I did call ahead and let them know that he is nonverbal and is autistic. They stated that they would still be able to do his exam so I took him in. Once I took him an exam was not done once the dr realized he was non verbal and on top of that the drs son was in the room while trying to go over my sons history. They charged my insurance for something that was not done and now I'm arguing with the insurance to get him the proper care for my son. They will give you fake frames, knock offs they give you fake cheap lenses that scratch and fog up. When you purchase the expensive stuff they rip you off they give you the wrong prescription. If you're not purchasing glasses from them this place is an absolute fraud. read more

Very unreliable optometry. I had to come here because it was one of the few places that took my insurance without my eye exam and contacts costing a fortune. From my first visit, I had told the eye doctor I only liked Acuvue which has been the only brand of contacts I've worn for 3+ years, she didn't have any in stock so she recommended me trying a new pair as a trial but did tell me she would order me a box of acuvue and these trial pair can hold me over until my box came. I called a week later to let them know if I can have a different trial pair to hold me over until my box came. The ones she gave me were thick and super uncomfortable. After I picked up my new pair, a few weeks went by and I didn't hear from them in regards to my order coming in. I called to ask what the status was and they had told me because I came in for new trial pair that they cancelled my acuvue order? Which I never said anything about cancelling. They asked me to come BACK to see the doctor again I called the eye doctor a week later explaining that I can't just come in every week. I placed ANOTHER order for my acuvue box that should have never been cancelled in the first place. The doctor said it will only take about 2-3 days. It's been 3 weeks now and I've called 3 times about my order. They keep telling me my box should come soon. Yesterday was Friday and I was furiated that I still have not received a call about my order. They weren't answering their phones. I drove over after I got off of work and the shop was closed with no note on the door as to why they closed for the day. This was at 3:30 pm when their hours are 10-7. I called again today and still no answer, this eye doctor is 35 minutes from where I live and I've been without contacts for 2 weeks now. If you are going to close your shop for days you should provide a note as to why. This is a huge inconvenience considering I have astigmatism and can barely see. Normally I don't get so raw about a business because I've owned one for many years and know how difficult it is, but when you bulls##t me, your present and potential future customers are going to know the unadulterated truth. So yes, your business lost my trust, Vinnie. You can thank your employee for that one. Time to find some new honest, customer centric helpers at your office and your other location (just read those reviews now). I have VSP insurance and our coverage is pretty good as I work for a major corporation. So started realizing that I would get really tired really quickly at work and at home in front of the computer. I came to the realization that I needed glasses. I'm one for convenience and looked up Yelp for a close, well regarded office so I chose this one. On June 13th, I stopped into Sunrise. Dr. Vinnie T performed the exam. Seemed thorough enough, put me through the tests and flipped a few lenses to see which ones worked for me. Prescription finalized and then we went to do the fun part, pick the frames. Through the frame selection process, he was pretty patient up to a point. As I waffled in between a few frames, he seemed to get more and more impatient. I understand you need to run a business, but you ALWAYS deal courteously with the customer in front of you. As I started to ask about pricing (b/c he seemed to push the most expensive frames), he became a little more impatient. I let it slide because I wanted to make the best decision, maybe he was having a bad day. So after I picked out the frames, we move onto the lens choices. I had no idea so many things were a la carte. I was stunned. In the end, I got many of the choices. On a side note, Costco has the same services like edge polishing for FREE. But that's not my beef with this office, what happened post-sale did. So at the register, I am told to come back on June 27th to pick up my glasses. Two full weeks, they said. I asked why does it take so long and he (the assistant, not Vinnie) said "Oh its a custom lens, we need to order the frame, expensive, etc, etc." So I figured ok, I paid a lot of money (over $500) for my glasses. 2 weeks for quality eye wear should not be a big problem. June 26th rolls around and I call in the late afternoon. I called the office and the same guy answered the phone. I asked if the glasses are on the way and if they will be ready for fitting and pickup tomorrow. He says after a pause. "Oh I'm sorry Mr ____, they aren't ready yet". I ask why and he says "Oh we need to order the frames, it takes a long time". I said "What??? You didn't put the order in yet?" Then he says "Uh yah, and the lenses there a custom made, they take a long time." And so I asked when will they be ready? He says "They'll be ready next Tuesday". So I ask him to call me when they get in. I held it in figuring what's a few more days. Today is July 2nd and so I called this morning. I asked if the glasses came in. Same guy said the SAME EXACT B.S. AGAIN. I kid you not. He said "Oh Mr ____, we need to order the frame, and its custom job so it take longer. It'll be ready at end of the week." My God I lost it. I said "Do you realize you gave me the same bulls##t excuse on Thursday? What do you mean you have to order the frame? Didn't you do that last Thursday? And didn't you also say it takes a full two weeks? How will it arrive in 3 days if you're just going to put in the order now?" There was a long pause and a lot of mumble mouthing and then he said "Ok I call lab now and find out". Which should have been the right response. So about 10 mins later, he calls me back to inform me that the glasses are going to be delivered today. I get a voice mail in the mid afternoon from the same guy. Glasses are ready. He ends up doing the fitting. It must've been uncomfortable for him because I have no poker face whatsoever and I know this guy knows he is one lame apology or excuse away from me losing it. So yes, I did get my glasses today. I did not leave in a good mood as you can imagine. So here I am, sitting in front of this computer of mine, blasting away at the shoddy customer service I received from Vinny's helper and wondering too "Did I get fleeced?" What if they did put in the order today and they cranked out my glasses in a rush? Rush anything in any business, especially precision work means more chance of problems. Moreover, I just read a review about this business' other location in Alta Loma where one girl noticed that her Versace eye glasses had "PRADA" on the inside of the frames. Go read the review. So did I get the genuine glasses that I paid for? You bet I'm calling the manufacturer soon and asking how I can verify I got the genuine article. My daughter and I visited this office a couple of weeks ago. The best way that I could describe the optometrist is "quick and dirty". He was very rushed when assessing my daughters vision, plus a bit rude. However, once he finished assessing her and administering her vision test, he surprised me by providing details that my daughter's previous optometrist failed to mention. We ordered her glasses and they said that it would be about a week wait time for the order to come into the office. My daughter still does not have her glasses. So, to recap - * the optometrist was a bit rude, but provided necessary/critical details * there is a delay in receiving the order I think I will be going elsewhere if I don't hear back from them this week... as I will be going into the third week in waiting for my daughter's glasses. Pros: fast service, direct to the point and very knowledgeable. Additionally, I was offered a follow up appointment. The rudest people, and the place is always closed during their posted business hours (10am-7pm). When I asked why they were closed from 1:00-3:30pm, and he said "oh, we are always closed at that time". Then, while I was trying on glasses the guy lets out a big sigh after 3 minutes of helping me! If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all, don't just read the Ontario location's reviews, read the Mira Loma reviews too because it's the same Dr. I wish I would have read the reviews before I came to this aweful "Dr" and btw, the frames are over priced too. Make sure you read the review from Mira Loma where the woman bought "versace" frames that had "prada" labled on the inside of the arm. If KNOCK OFFS at TOP dollar are your thing then that's on you! Anyway. My insurance only covers one exam a year and nothing else, so frames and lenses are out of pocket. Dr Vinnie was EXTREMELY rude, impatient, pushy and just plain "quick n dirty". Have u ever had an eye exam that took less than 20 to 30 minutes? A lot of times they May take even longer but he will rush through in ten minutes. He wouldn't let me figure out which lense was right for me. "this one or this one, this one or this one just pick one! This one or this one?" Only letting me see through the lenses for a couple seconds. In 10 minutes I had what I would Come to find a month in a half later, was a BOTCHED BS PRESCRIPTION! Told me I needed bifocals! I'm only 29! But he knows best because he is the doctor. Picking out frames was rushed too. He wouldn't let me take my time picking out frames I liked. He stood over my shoulder the whole time shoving frames at me "how bout these ones or these ones, no? well try these." Again not giving me 2 seconds to think. Almost seemed irritated or annoyed that I tried on 3 pairs and hadn't made up my mind yet. Eventually I just chose some frames I wasn't completely happy about because I felt rushed and dropped over $700 on 2 pairs of crappy frames (not designer) sunglasses and clear lenses ... CASH! I went on my way and he never even gave me a copy of my prescription. I don't know about you but I work hard for my penny's so on the way home I started wondering how I just spent over 700 cash (after a "20%" discount) on cheap Vogue frames. I felt like it was not the right choice so when I got home I called and cancelled my order and went to get my cash back in the morning and asked for a copy of the prescription I should have already had. Then later in the day they called me back and said they gave me the wrong prescription and I needed to come back so they can fix it. I went back and left with the "right" one. I ended up purchasing both my clear lenses and my sunglasses through target optical on Haven and Foothill in Rancho Cucamonga. My clear frames are D&G and my sunglasses are Coach. I spent 500 on both pair total, 200 less than the ugly Vogue frames I had picked out from Sunrise Optometry! They were all extremely kind, patient and helpful. Got my glasses in a week or 2 and all of a sudden trying them on I felt like they just weren't right. I thought I just needed to get used to the bifocals cause I never had them before so I waited it out and wore them everyday trying to find my "focal point" with the bifocals. After a month and a half of headaches I was done. I went back to target optical to pay out of pocket for another eye exam since Dr vinnie used my free one from my insurance. I was told I should've gone back to him and had him do a retest for free but I would rather pay out of pocket for an overall BETTER DR! At target optical Dr Kim was AMAZING! And guess what? The prescription she gave me after a 35 or 40 minute exam, was completely different than the one Dr vinnie at sunrise gave me AND I DONT NEED BIFOCALS! Moral of the review is, DR VINNIE @ SUNRISE OPTOMETRY SUCKS AS A DR AND A HUMAN BEING. Go elsewhere, don't waste your money on that jerk or his business. He cost me a lot of money with his BS BOTCHED prescription and after this review, the next step is the Better business Bureau. Go to Taget Optical for an overall BETTER experience. read more

The doctor and I agree that I would pay out of pocket and not touch my insurance. and Guess what? yup, he went ahead and charged me $80 and charged my insurance $60. so now I have less allowance from my insurance because this business deducted $60 from my benefits. This place is horrible. Stay away! 1. I get there right when they open and My appointment is at 10am...no one is there. There were 2 other people waiting also.. finally 30 mins later they finally show up. 2. I finally get my glasses that cost me $250. The guy tells me to wear them all the time so my eyes get used to them. I do, an I'm absolutely miserable. Nausea, major dizziness, headaches,...pretty much all the symptoms of bad eyesight. Could barely see while I'm driving. This was my first time having glasses an I thought it my just be my eyes trying to adjust. Well..4 weeks later I go back because nothing has changed. The guy says oh thats just your eyes adjusting...then just wear them for reading only. Okaaaaay....so I try that, still not better. So I stop wearing them because I honestly couldn't handle it anymore. Then thanksgiving, christmas, new years go by and I finally call back after the holidays and tell them I need to come back in because I'm still having issues. So the person who helped me over the phone was rude and he told me I'm going to have to pay for another exam because it's been past a certain time frame from when I picked up my glasses (can't remember how long he said) and i should have called them sooner. Well...no one told me that. He ended up getting upset at me and finally said okay okay can you come tomorrow at 12pm? So I go and I wait about 30-45mins to be seen for the guy to tell me the same thing. But this time I found it interesting, He said the prescription I had is the lowest med-ical will pay for. Didn't think of anything at the time when he said that. So finally 7 months later I go to Costco and pay $55 for an exam. Completely different experience..you can tell they know what they are doing. Come to find out...I have a stigmatizum, I've been given the wrong prescription, AND I only need them for computer work and reading. Was in their office for the first time on May 25, 2016 with my two granddaughters 10 & 4. Seemed pleased when I first entered. Was happy with the new prescription I was getting. Went to sit down to discuss figures and paid for my glasses. If I had not needed this new prescription so badly, I should have got my money back and left. Here is why: Dr.: Are those two sisters? Me: Yes Dr: Why is one dark and one light? Me: Excuse me????????? Dr: Do they have the same parents? Me: What? Dr: (Asking my grand daughters) Who does your mom like best, you or your sister. Me: Their parents love them equally!! Dr: (Asking my granddaughters) Who do you like better, mommy or daddy. (After my grand daughters look at me like, why is he asking stupid questions) Me: Their parents love them equally. I'm sure you're thinking, "Why are you still talking to this ignorant fool?" So am I, but the final straw was; (after he asked my granddaughter about her mom purchasing glasses for her, this was his statement) Dr: So will you tell your mom to come here? I have been using Sunrise Optometry for YEARS!! They are always so friendly and remember who I am. I was there on Friday for my yearly eye exam. I have 2 little boys and the staff was amazing and so patient with them the whole time!! I called the 3rd week and they told me it was going to be in mid week. It took almost 5 weeks for my trial pair!!! So I liked my contacts and went in today to ask how much my contacts were going to be for the year and the guy in the front couldn't help me AT ALL!! Horrible experience! My husband, my daughter, and I went in for eye exams today. Before our exam I politely asked the optometrist to please write the pupil distance on the prescription, to which he rudely replied, you don't need it! I explained we did, since we order our glasses online, to which he blurted out rudely, "you are wrong in doing that." I repeated my request, which seemed to add to his irritation. During the exam the optometrist was extremely rude, rushed, and seemed angry at the fact we would not be buying glasses from him. During the exam he concluded that our previous prescriptions were too strong and we all ended up with prescriptions that were lighter in graduation than our previous exam, which was taken two years ago. He angrily scribbled our prescriptions and did something that I will I be reporting to my insurance. We left his office with severe doubts regarding the veracity of our eye exam results.
