Update: Seems they've got new management and they are pushing a 'required' procedure - optomap retinal imaging for $29 not covered by insurance. I understand this is precautionary measures. Tried to explain I just had it done last year with them, and last month (December) with my ophthalmologist, but they insisted it is their policy. For a family of 4, this adds up quickly... no thanks! Guess it's time to find a new eye doc that doesn't nickel-and-dime me. read more

I do not recommend this place to take your child. They don't have experience taking care of peds patients, they don't have patience and shows frustration... they don't have time to wait because some other patient will use the machine. Dr. Murakami gave me so much of her time, she put so much of my anxiety to rest, she allowed me to ask her a million questions with absolutely no hesitation. My exam did warrant a trip to the ER and Dr. Murakami coached me to advocate for myself. All of this lead to a FINAL diagnosis and a TREATMENT plan. As if that weren't enough, she called me the next morning to check on me and further eased my anxieties by collaborating with her colleagues to give me additional information on my diagnosis. An absolute ANGEL!! She genuinely cares and it shows! I have no doubts that she was meant for this career and will forever be thankful to have met her and established my eye care with her. So I went to Costco took my script and it was around $120 for the exact same lenses/prescription so I had them filled there instead and saved a lot I do like there selection of frames here lots of high end but again Costco frames cheaper read more

Very upset that I called to make an appointment and every time I visit this office the doctor makes it mandatory that you pay for retinal images for $29. I explained that I wanted to decline and the front desk girl re-emphasized that it is mandatory. I have been coming to this location and previously to the summit optometry for nearly 14+ years with Dr Abo and sister who are too busy and we can never see anymore but today I was not paying $29 for each family member. However I asked the front desk girl so I won't be seen if I refuse the imaging? She proceeded to repeat herself over and over again. It is mandatory, it is required by our doctor. Ok then I went on a quest to find myself a new optometrist and boy am I happy I did. I was scheduled within two days. They were able to solve my contact lens issue after having Lasik that nobody had been able to solve at this location or the sister office. Dont get me wrong staff is very friendly but it very frustrating when you are loyal to one place for this long and when you can't afford an additional $29 for six people on top of six pairs of glasses you just find a new place. This is a great location. It is clean. They have modern technology to test one's eyes. They do require a few different eye exam, I guess depending what you are scheduling for. Some of the eye exams are performed in a public setting, so not in a private room and a some are privately performed by optometrist. The optometrist and staff truly care. UPDATED REVIEW: (7/16/21) Dr. Murakami reached out to let me know that the second visit would be free of charge. She took the time to address all my concerns about the last payment and made my second visit a great experience. As far as optometry, she's super knowledgeable in her field and really takes time to answer all questions and teach you about your eyes. My second experience with foothill optometry has been really great overall. I really appreciate the their effort in providing good customer service to patients, and taking criticism as a means to improve. (6//7/21) As a first time patient, I called to ask how much a contact lens prescription was because price really mattered to me. I was told $65 on the phone flat fee. I went in and got my exam, & doctor gave me 2 different types of contacts to try out at home. She told me to come back if I didn't like them, and we can do another exam free of charge. I thought everything was great until it was time to pay. I ended up paying $193 instead of the $65 because of hidden fees that they did not disclose to me on the phone. $65 for contact fitting, $99 for eye exam, and another $29 for retinal pictures. They said everything was mandatory for me to get my contact prescription. If it was mandatory, shouldn't it be mandatory to tell the patient? After me clearly asking for the price? If I would've known the price, I definitely would've never stepped foot in here. A couple days after testing out both contacts, I knew that both of them were not working for me. They were both really blurry. I saw better out of my old contacts from a year ago. So I decided to make another appointment to go in again. I thought it would be free because the doctor said so. But I got a text the day before my appointment saying retinal imaging is required, and $29 WILL be added to my copay. Like what??? Why should I have to pay extra because the doctor couldn't give me the right prescription??? I saw a Yelp review saying that these people were thieves and they're not wrong. I stepped on my fairly new Prada prescription glasses and thought they were damaged beyond repair. I walked into foothill optometric center and was greeted kindly by Lulu behind the counter. She was cheerfully smiling and reminds me of what "perfect customer service" is about. She was professional, kind, and have a service attitude. Thank you Lulu. Lulu took my glasses back to Sandra and much the same Sandra exhibited elite technical and customer service skills. Great customer service , wide selection of frames and even though I had no changes to my vision plan this place gives an extra year warranty on lenses and frames.. from sizing to pickup in only a week .. I do not recommend this place for the reason being is that they "recommend the optiview" out of pocket even if it's not necessary. Some exams are required but this exam in particular is not. I've called plenty of ophthalmologist facilities and they all said it's optional, up to patient if they want it. Beware of the blond girl with tattoo on her back of her neck she is shady.... I got my contacts prescription after the eye exam. Using the prescription, I ordered contacts from Costco since price was much cheaper. From the first pair I wear, everything was so blur, even couldn't see the street sign clearly. Contacted them again and see the another Doctor Suplee. The previous prescription was too strong for me and she gave me new prescription which I can see clearly. The process to get my exam again and get correct prescription was very easy and smooth. I really appreciate that they corrected their wrong prescription without giving me any hassle. However, I already ordered year supply of 4 boxes (Right eye and Left eye) of Contacts from Costco based on wrong prescription they gave to me. The two boxes (Left and right eye) are opened so that I cannot return it. I could return only unopened 2 boxes back to Costco. Because they gave me wrong prescription, I am loosing quite some money as my multi focal contacts are expensive Since the wrong prescription is their fault, I asked them if they can give me same number of trial contacts and let you keep the 2 open boxes contacts I have. The office manager was very confrontational. She refuse to do so and dare to tell me that if I purchased the contacts from them, they will take it back even if box is open. The office manager didn't apologize about wrong prescription and told me "What want us to do? You didn't purchase from us". After back and forth conversation, office manager agree to gave me 2 trial contacts. When I get out from this Optometric Center, I felt really bad about how I was treated by this office manager as well as how they handle their mistake. I have been this optometic center's patient for 8 years. They have been great until this happen. I am really disappointed by them how they handle their mistake. read more

I can't recommend Dr. Suplee enough! Also as someone with a history of retinal procedures, being able to skip the dilation but get a thorough imaging exam done and then ophthalmology referral for follow-up was definitely worth it. read more

I went into the office on 4/9/16 to pick up my Michael Kors sunglasses that I had ordered. Elise helps me every time I go in. She's great, friendly, and patient with my daughter and I. When I couldn't make up my mind on which sunglasses to get and she offered different options and gave me her honest opinion when trying on quite a few different styles of glasses.
