I used to love going to this doctor and trusted them for years. That trust was broken when I experienced a genuinely scary issue with one of my eyes and called seeking guidance. Instead of showing concern or even speaking with me briefly, the office refused to engage until my insurance card was provided. In that moment, it no longer felt like a relationship with a healthcare provider. It felt like a retail transaction--as if the first priority was whether I could pay, not whether I was okay. This was especially disappointing considering I did have insurance and was fully able to pay out of pocket if needed. The lack of compassion and basic care in a moment of fear was a huge letdown. I never went back after that incident, and I moved my entire family's care elsewhere. Once healthcare starts feeling transactional instead of human, it's time to leave. read more

This place is absolutely terrible！！！！！I brought my daughter here for glasses, and since the frame she liked wasn't covered by insurance, I paid over $150 out of pocket. She specifically chose a pair with Hello Kitty details on the side. We waited 20 days to pick them up, only to find that the glasses they gave us were NOT the ones we ordered--they were a completely different style without the Hello Kitty design. When I brought this to their attention, the receptionist (who claimed to be the manager) actually lied to my face, claiming the Hello Kitty version was 'newly arrived' stock, even though that was exactly what we had already paid for. Furthermore, I requested a copy of my daughter's prescription. They promised to email it to me immediately, but I received nothing after a week. I called them twice to follow up, and they still haven't sent it！！！！！Stay away from this shop--they are two-faced and have zero integrity. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

I have had a great experience here for glasses, contacts, and my dry eye issues. Everything that was recommended has drastically improved my quality of life. I even got a referral for a glaucoma specialist. From the temporary eyedrops, eye cleanser for styes, and eye compresses, everything has worked! I even tried an elective treatment where the lashes are cleansed with a cleaner and specialized brush, to further prevent styes. It felt amazing and my eyelashes have never felt so clean. I originally found Dr. Leena through Zoc Doc and she accepted my mom's insurance (IEHP). My mom was struggling with severe dry eyes, itchiness, irritation, and needed new glasses. Over the course of a few months Dr. Leena was able to completely transform my mom's life. She listened patiently to all of our concerns and did everything she could to help. My mom is now doing great and has not experienced any issues with her eyes since. After attending my mom's appointments I decided to seek care from Dr. Leena for my own problems which included extreme dry eyes and irritation that was greatly impacting my quality of life. I was constantly exhausted as a current college student who spends +10 hours a day staring at a screen. Dr. Leena heard my concerns and offered a solution that would help with my dry eyes (ask about the plugs!!!!) Dr. Leena was able to get me affordable care and service. I realize now that my eyes were affecting every area of my life. I now have glasses that I desperately needed and for the first time in over a year I feel energized and well rested. See a lot of good reviews. But my recently experience is bad . I brought my 5-year-old daughter here to do eye exam. First of all,the restroom not open for customers. So their customers have to go next door to use restroom. That's ridiculous. Is it extra work to clean restroom?The doctor's attitude is kindly cold to child. But the assistants are nice. My daughter has astigmatism,so she needs a glasses. The lady brought some frames let her pick one. But why we have to choose from what you get for us,there is more choices in the store. Anyway my daughter picked one in the end,the price goes to over $450. The frame is $150. I said "children's frame is more expensive than adults'? she said she can offer us a package. Then the price low down to $281,but we can only pick one from three really ugly frames. So I decided to go somewhere else. Today I just walked in a random vison center,give them the precipitation. I can choose any type we want,they also help me pick good size frame for my daughter. I got the $114 frame,the price turned out only $204!Half price!I was shocked the huge difference of price. So I ask him do you add "lens add -ons" because doctor put the "add -ons "on the precipitation. He said :no,it's unnecessary. Then he explained to me that "polarized gry especially for driving ,for kids is unnecessary. Cut glare and AR coating plus is the same,only for someone spend a lot of time reading or watching TV,but you said you daughter doesn't do that a lot so I didn't add on. I have never posted a 1 star review but this is well deserved unfortunately. My husband & I have been good customers here, have spent a good penny on high end glasses etc. My husband recently went in for his exam and purchased 2 pairs of glasses totally $700+, one pair came in & he asked when the other pair would arrive, he was told they can no longer get that pair so he asked to simply be refunded for the pair they could not get.. he was told they DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS, he was confused because he didn't receive the product. Then they told him they could give him only partial refund, we didn't understand why refund would be partial if he didn't receive the product. THEN THE DR HERSELF SAID WE ARE BOTH NO LONGER WELCOME HERE! The Dr has the worst integrity. Never have we experienced such retaliation simply asking to be refunded for a product they could not provide us, after we had already paid! read more

Absolutely horrible. I never give reviews, but this one had to be done to warn others. My daughters were patients for 3 1/2 years, and it has been 3 1/2 years of me being very understanding and patient. Today's, incident with one of the medical assistants and doctor was the last straw. Where do I begin. 1. Phone calls: trying to get in contact with the office is not easy whatsoever. 2. The office hours are listed on Google and there's been several times where they close earlier than listed. I have even called to verify the office hours for the following day so I could get my daughter's eyeglasses tightened and spoke to the receptionist Jasmine regarding their hours, and when I drove to the office during the time frame she gave me, they were closed. 3. The door is constantly locked, so do not expect to freely walk in. I've watched them ignore patients and finish their conversation knowing the patient is waiting. 4. The doctor is unusually cold and only spoke to my child during her appointment. 5. Last but not least, during my daughter's visit she sent my other daughter who is a minor, to a nearby business to use the restroom since their restroom is closed out of fear of "theft" and the restroom becoming dirty. Not only this, she did so knowing fully well that the outside of the office was full of adult men doing construction. Super grateful for this place. The drs and the assistants / receptionist are always so polite and efficient. I'm never here longer than I need to be. They give me their honest opinions on frames based on how they look on me & I just got contacts for the first time & they were even more amazing! It took me a minute to figure out how to remove them with acrylics on & all the girls took turns giving me tips. Now I am a pro! I was mostly assisted by Karen & am completely blessed! I was in dire need of contacts. This was the only place that would give me a same day appointment. Crystal Vision really came to the rescue and saved the day! Fyi they do try to upsell while you are in the office, however, my experience was that it was easy to say no and to go on with the rest of the examination so no harm no foul. The doctor and her staff are very very knowledgeable and good at their job. Examination to get me to my perfect prescription was quick and effective, and then when I wanted to pick out glasses they knew exactly what kind of glasses to show me and I picked out a frame fairly quickly. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience at Crystal Vision. I fully believe they do whatever they can just to make money off of you. They convinced us to buy my husband over $150 glasses for an astigmatism, come to find out from his prescription that his astigmatism is negligible and his vision is a perfect 20/20. Most recently, I called to get a copy of my contact prescription and they lied to me for a whole week straight saying they had it and couldn't send it for various reasons (understaffed, scanner broke, etc.) so when I decided to just go in in person, they told me I had to do a series of appointments in order for her to write it again. I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want a trusted optometrist who has your best interest at heart. I will NOT be back to that establishment. read more

The staff is nice. Zero complaints there. The doctor is great too. But there were some cons of this place. Everyone may have a different experience but here is mine ... 1. The mask I had to wear was causing the lenses to fog up during my exam. Unfortunately, I think this is why I have the wrong prescription glasses. I mentioned this and we halted the exam, started over ... but same issue. 2. I wasn't allowed to touch glasses to try on. Understood. But the staff kept putting glasses in front of me that I absolutely did not like. At least 15-20 pair. I kept saying no to what they showed me. They were rushing me to make a decision and it gave me anxiety. I just wanted to at least point to ones I liked but couldn't. I finally chose a pair. They fit when I tried them on ... but when I got the pair with my actual prescription, they were super loose and kept falling. They kept tightening them but I finally gave up and just left. $200 down the drain. 3. Up close my prescription is ok. But I can't drive in them. Anything I'm trying to see in the distance gives me a horrible headache. It's like my eyes can't get on the same page (similar to when I had strabismus). Unfortunately, I'm making an appt with Lens Crafters and paying $75 out of pocket for an eye exam soon, since I used my insurance for this appt ... 4. I asked for a prescription since I'm in the reserves and my clinic on base requires it. The prescription they gave me is incomplete. It doesn't have the additional information needed if I ever wanted to buy additional reading glasses. They were hesitant to even give me my prescription until I told them I needed it for the military. 5. They make sure to remind you every time they see you to leave a review. I felt they cared more about reviews than the patient. Again, the staff is nice ... but I felt rushed when trying to find glasses and I felt like I was only worth it if I leave a good review. Oh, and I see better without glasses. Ironic. I'd love to call them and explain my frustrations but I feel as though it's unnecessary. I'm out a couple hundred bucks for crappy glasses that don't stay on and I can't see distance with. If you go in knowing this, maybe you'll have a better experience. read more

I had an overall good experience, except for the fact that I felt like I was being pressured into getting various services. The front desk staff and the optometrist were very kind and I had an enjoyable eye exam. However, throughout the exam, it felt like I was being pitched various services that the office offered quite a bit, and declining so many felt a little embarrassing. I was not transparent that I was just trying to get my prescription, so towards the end when they asked me which frames I wanted, I told them that I was just there for a prescription because I had some frames elsewhere that I had in mind. The main optometrist said she wouldn't recommend that, which I didn't really understand why, and she sort of signed my prescription paper and rushed to be done with me it seemed. Despite this though, overall, I did have a fast, efficient, good time getting my eye exam. read more

This weekend, I accidentally destroyed my favorite pair of glasses. I called the office, explained my story and gave them the model number of my glasses. The first person tells me over the phone that the model of my frame was discontinued. I was at work, so I decided to Google the frames, and there were tons of places online that were selling the frames. I go to the office to check out their frames. Wasn't impressed with the selection, so I asked the person (not the person I talked to on the phone) helping me if they could double check on my frame, since I found so many other places online that were selling it. The person confirmed that the frames were indeed available to order, so I asked for a quote, stating that I wanted all of the features that my previous pair had. The quote that I was given was just short of the amount that I paid for 2 pairs of glasses, which included the pair that I destroyed. The person worked out the numbers to where my replacement frame would be close to the amount I previously paid. I got the "song and dance" about how they appreciated my business, blah blah blah, but I was definitely unhappy that I had to go through that exercise in the first place. I shouldn't have had to haggle if my business was that important. Dr. Adhikari is still great, but this place is much different (not in a good way) without Barbara. After $425 and nearly 3 weeks, they inform us this morning that the frames were "damaged" in transit. The lenses are in a lab in Illinois. So now the optometrist orders new frames via "freight", which takes about a week. Then they have to send it to Illinois, where it will sit for several days until someone gets around to popping the lenses in and tightening the screws. Then it sits until a courier picks it up to send back to California. The issue with frames being damaged can't be controlled, but the source of the frames and the timeframe of putting the glasses together and shipping them out, can be controlled. The receptionist refused to provide the "freight" tracking number and expected us to wait another two weeks. She turned down my offer of having the glasses within four business days, which I think is generous considering that the lenses are ready and already cut to the dimensions of the frames. They refused to find a pair of frames locally, including the one on display. They refused to send that pair to the lab. They refused to call the lab and find out if they could ship it out the same day they receive the frames. I didn't even mention compensation, and neither did they. They decided to refuse completing the order at all. Sometimes you have to just break even or take a small loss to make a customer happy. Maybe you have to spend an hour trying to fix the mistake. That's just the cost of doing business. If they can't understand that, they're going to lose even more business. read more

I felt that the front desk did not accomodate my needs and the doctor could be more personable.

As a first time customer I was very pleased with this office for their ease of booking me an appointment and performing my basic exam. With the help of my insurance I was able to pick up some decent frames to correct my astigmatism. However, when it came to picking up my glasses things got a little difficult due to the change of their hours... ASIDE FROM THAT, I was also given the lenses that I did not pay for! What I was given was basic lenses in place of premium lenses which I chose and paid for (by use of my VSP optical insurance and whatever extra out of my own wallet). CONTINUE TO READ ON FOR THE DETAILS IN MY EXPERIENCE. It took me 3 trips to finally catch them in the office to pick up my glasses. One trip, they had a sign stating they will now be closed on Tuesdays - this is not yet reflected in the posted hours that they have on their front door even at two weeks later. Second, they were supposedly closed on one Thursday afternoon to further educate staff in their office to better serve customers. The third time I finally got my glasses. The day I picked them is what topped it off. Later that day I realized, with the help of some ABO licensed and certified opticians from another office that I was improperly dispensed - I was not given the lenses I paid for. The lenses I paid for had a number of coats... transition lenses, with UV protection, and anti-glare. The lenses never transitioned and no trace of the UV protection existed. The transition and anti-glare can be detected by the naked eye. The UV protection has to be tested by a simple machine - which was personally checked by a family member of mine that is and ABO licensed and certified optician at a completely different office. Being improperly dispensed is INSURANCE FRAUD! Long story short, I spoke to the store manager who up front couldn't tell me about my lenses just by looking at them. However, when she finally caught on to the mistake in my order - which she did by looking up some records in their system. Thankfully, that quickly changed - she was able to verify by a look and a simple test on the glasses that I did not receive the proper lenses. She also stated that the mistake was made by two things. The order was NOT placed correctly and the lenses were not "properly" checked in. How in the world does that happen?!! I blame the optician. Regardless, MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR, and what your insurance covered for you, WHEN WALKING OUT OF THIS OFFICE!! It is easy to be taken advantage of not knowing about the profession these offices are in and other details about glasses and their lenses. Get a second look on your glasses if you feel like you want to verify that you got what you were given. Thankfully I did not have to pursue any legal help in this. The store manager did re-submit my order for the correct lenses (on rush order) and allowed me to keep what I was first given - in order use in place of waiting for the correct lenses. I will write a follow up on this review when this issue is fully resolved. This office deserves ZERO stars right now. No one should be taken advantage of - on purpose or "accidentally." I felt like I was coming in to a car dealership going to this optometrist. Okay went there about a couple of weeks ago for an eye exam. After the exam, it's not done yet, they didn't let me go instead, showing me their collection of glasses. I didn't wanna be rude so I follow along. Saw a pair of glasses that I really like, chose that and asked for a quote on the glasses. The lady went over the pricing, the specs on the lenses and came out with the price of $499. Thankfully I didn't pass out after hearing the price. I kept myself cool, then asked her for a discount and she said the price was already included with the discount the regular price would've been around $600 OMG lol. So, I told her that I need some time to think about it since I'm not a rich person to pay $499 for a pair of single vision glasses. Then, the lady tried to scared me by saying the more I wait to replace my old glasses with the new one from THEM, the more damage I'll do to my eyes. Remember, get it from them so I can save my vision and not go blind. So whatever, they finally let me go. Oh, I then almost forgot they didn't even give me the prescription so I had to ask for a copy of it. After that, I did my research on the glasses I saw at their store that I really like online. Found it, the same exact item with the same specs of the lenses the showed me earlier and guess what, the grand total came out only for $148 something. Out the door. Without wasting anymore time I ordered it from this website and just received the product today. Couldn't be happier with my decision. I know the optometrist trying to run a business here by selling glasses. But again, $499 vs $148 is a day and night difference considering the two are the exact same product. They're trying to gain almost 300% of profit margin lol. I'm not a rich person so I don't think I will come back. They should've put a sign "This optical store targets rich people only", that way I wouldn't bother coming in in the first place. So, yeah I'll give this place a one star for trying to rip me off. My husband and I had our exams in December and January. We paid for our contacts and glasses in full at the time of our exam visits. Our glasses were ready within a couple weeks. My glasses were poorly made and within a couple days the right lense in my glasses began cracking around the edges of the frames. I called and my husband took them back to the office to show them to the office manager. No problem, I understand that things happen. The glasses came with a warranty and I was told they would be replaced. Fast forward another month and with still no word on our contacts or my replacement glasses my husband called again and was told THEY SENT OUR CONTACTS BACK?!?! They never called us, told my husband the contacts weren't ready when he brought my glasses back into the office in person and then they literally returned them? Again, worth noting here that we paid for our contacts IN FULL and IN ADVANCE. Now they said they will reorder our contacts (that we paid for in December and early January) and that they will be ready in two days. Still no ETA on my replacement glasses. 0.o Needless to say, I'm not very satisfied. Having a great exam visit doesn't really matter when you can't get your contacts or glasses. read more

Very nice staff but for a reason. From the moment you walk in you're getting pulled in multiple directions of sales. Always looking for more money instead of what you actually need. Got over charged multiple times and when I called them out on it and demanded a refund the woman laughed and said that's not possible. I told them I would call the bank and need to see the breakdown of the pricing and all of a sudden I get a call back from the office saying they will refund me. I wonder why? Pure negligence. Please, don't go here. Here is why: I ordered my first pair of glasses and my vision was still blurry. All the staff there treated me like I was crazy when I told them I still couldn't see. So, then maybe I thought it really was in my head. I ordered a year worth of supply for my contacts. Again, it was super blurry and I couldn't even see anything. Do keep in mind I am almost legally blind and I cannot stress of how CRUCIAL and IMPORTANT it is for me to have my contacts. Couldn't wear my glasses because it was blurry vision as well. I examined my old contact box (didn't order this set of contacts from this optometrist) and I noticed my NEW set of contacts- prescribes by Crystal Vision Optometry and realized they left one super, super important detail. I. HAVE. STIGMATISM. I brought it up to the doctor and you know what she says? "OH YEAAAAHHHHH" Is this a joke? Am I missing something here? Is it normal for a patient to let the "professional" optometrist know what my dosage is? If you look up professional malpractice- this one goes for the books. There is not a single statement in this entire world that can genuinely demonstrate the importance of me having my correct contact dosage. As a current student, studying to go to law school- I REALLY needed to make sure that I had the right stuffs. Instead, I have blurry glasses and even worse contacts. To put the cherry on top, when they FINALLY correctly ordered my contacts- for some reason they only gave me SOME of my order. They said it'll ship in a later time. I called to make an appointment, the woman on the phone was very nice and when I called to ask if my other son can be seen at the same time she said, yes which made it more convenient for me to bring them both at the same day. When we came in for our visit, both of the employees greeted us and checked my sons in for their visits. Everyone was extremely nice and made my 7 year old and (shy) 6 year old very comfortable. When the Dr. came in she was very pleasant and brought my son in to start his exam immediately. He needed a little more attention due to needing a strong Rx for glasses but she took her time with him and even saw my other son while we were picking out glasses. My little one just loved it but was a little sad that he didn't need glasses too. LOL I shouldn't be as surprised at great customer service but when you have Medi-Cal, you definitely don't expect to get the attention my family got today at this office. This Dr. and her staff blew away my expectations and made me want to not only schedule my own visit but to write a review so patients know how great this office is! I work at a dental office so I know the importance of great customer service and I strongly recommend coming here, you will not be disappointed! So this place is pretty awesome, to start off! I came in on a Saturday morning for an appointment @9:15. Front desk and opticians are super nice, friendly and helpful. Paperwork is minimal and my insurance was made easy! They even texted me to confirm my appointment the day before! The Dr. was super easy to talk to, non aggressive, but firm about taking proper care of my vision. She first asked me about my over eye health and then got into specifics. Definitely felt like she was more interested in helping suit my needs, rather than her pocket. After my consultation and pre exam were out of the way, then came the time to select frames and add ons! Jennifer was super helpful by explaining my copay for consultation and material (frame coverage), and let me know there will/may be additional charges for coatings and or tints or lens materials. Felicia, correct me if I'm wrong please!, working in the front was also very helpful and friendly! They had a decent selection of wide frames, for those of us who have bigger heads lol. They accept Visa, MasterCard & care credit! Will definitely be coming back for any future optical needs!!
