So my boyfriend suggested pizza for dinner and to be honest I wasn't feeling it. We yelled nearby pizza places and he was so excited to see Sunnyside Pizza back in business. So we went. At first I even made a joke about getting Mexican food next door but went in for pizza with him. I was glad I did. First off, great prices. Next, ordered 2 appetizers (buffalo wings and jalapeño poppers). The owner asked us if we wanted a beer. I gladly ordered one. A 22 oz Modello sounded good on a Friday night. The service was superb... the owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome as well as the rest of the staff. The pizza was crispy but not overly crispy. Perfect amount of cheese. Wings were great. I myself prefer more sauce but these were not bad by any means. Jalapeño poppers were standard but baked with I prefer over fried. Beer was ice cold in a chilled glass. Absolutely loved this place! My family and I would always go to the Sunnyside Pizza in Fresno and were sad to see it go. We then recently passed by Fowler and noticed they moved over here in Clovis. I love sunnyside pizza. I was so bummed when they closed the location on Kings Canyon and Clovis. I thought it was gone forever but then I recently discovered it opened in this location. The sauce is great, the crust is the right combination of chewy and crunchy and the toppings are high quality and plentiful. The pizza here is a California style pizza compared to an East coast style but they absolutely nail the California style of pizza. read more

And I have never been charged for ranch or jalapeno like the other places do. Which is nice. I hate going to these other pizza places where you already paid a for a big pizza at a big price and then they want to charge a dollar for a tiny cup of jalapenos or ranch. Honestly best pizza in Fresno/Clovis! Been coming here since I was a kid and the pizza has always been delicious. Was so excited when they opened up again here in Clovis! The pizza is just as amazing as I remember and they keep their prices at such a great price for the quality of pizza they provide! The owners are amazing people and are always so friendly to me when I come in, even remembered me after the couple years they were closed! Good, but could be better. The restaurant is very clean with a lot of seating. The pizza was good except for the mushrooms, they use canned mushrooms which is pretty gross. The crust was delicious, sauce, cheese everything perfect other than the mushrooms. Very affordable. read more

Today I placed a to ho order of their family special which include one family size pizza with 2 toppings, 10 pieces of hot wings and 4 drinks for about 25 dollars. Can't beat that deal! When I arrived I was greeted with a big smile, the woman at the counter was extremely polite and welcoming. I realized that they didnt have any cup holders for my drinks but I didn't mention anything to her. As i was filling up my to go cups the owner walks up with a box to use as a cup holder and apologies that they didn't have any holders. I told him no problem and proceeded to fill my drinks. Once I was done he offers to help me to my car and grabs the drinks for me, what really got me was that you could tell that he's genuinely trying to be helpful and not just doing it because he felt like he had to. He just gained a life long customer. The pizza is delicious, the wings have a nice little kick to them and the cheese bread I ordered was delicious! Their new place is very spacious and there are TVs where you can watch the games, while having a cold one. You can't go wrong with Sunnyside Pizza. The folks are definitely down to earth people. Decent thin crispy crust pizza. Very Me & Ed's like. I'm not a Me & Ed's fan. Pizza I ordered had so little sauce on it, it was hard to tell if they used pizza sauce. If it had more sauce it might have been a 4 star pizza. I'm sure I'll give them another try soon and see if what I had was a one off mistake or the norm for this place. My childhood favorite when they were located on the SW corner of Clovis and Kings Canyon. The pizza is awesome and you simply will not beat the price or specials anywhere in town. Perfect for a family on a budget I recommend the family special and it is what my parents ordered for my siblings and I back in the day and I don't think the price has changed since I started going here 15-20 years ago. We gave this place a second try. I hate to provide negative reviews for restaurants that are struggling to survive. But the pizza tasted like salty cardboard. The mozzarella sticks were clearly frozen and not even costco quality. I don't think I'll be eating here again. Sorry. I hope others have better experiences. read more
