This was the first time that I have seen this place recommended on my DoorDash app so I thought I'd check it out. I was especially curious about the Stromboli--a dish that I had never tried before. (The fact that it came with a "2-4-1" deal made it "an offer I just couldn't refuse "!) I ordered the basic pepperoni and cheese with an added black olives. To my delight it was most delicious! I bought 2 XL pepperoni pizza for $50. At first i was like holy sh*t for 2 damn pizzas but I don't regret it one bit! You really get what you pay for. I haven't had pizza taste this good in years! The pizzas are big and heavy. They have that great cheese pull you're looking for. Just try it. You won't regret it. I'll definitely be returning for some more. I waited 15min for them. Looks better than it tastes and smells. I just ordered an XL pepperoni pizza & spicy wings. They're definitely not stingy with the pizza toppings & cheese. And the pizza looks amazing but has a weird smell & also tasted a little weird. The wings were very disappointing. The breading was soggy and could tell they were previously frozen. They weren't even warm. The spice level was definitely to my liking as they were super spicy but that's about it. I will not be ordering from here again, unfortunately. read more

Today (7.4.24) would have been the 4th visit to this pizzeria. Each visit, the quality of the pizza has declined. Today was the last straw, I will never go back and they lost me as a customer. Placed an order and they told me 20 minutes. I waited 30 minutes and when I got there, I paid cash. I asked how long it was going to take and the lady said she didn't know, she just got there. The guy said that he would find out after he got done cutting the pizzas. Long story short and after waiting in that hot room for 10 minutes, my order wasn't even made yet. I could still hear them telling people on the phone that it was going to take 30 minutes and that is a lie, it was more like 2 hours. Why don't they tell people the truth instead of wasting our time? Read the worst reviews first. Be careful of the online prices and expect to pay more. We did pay more, and told the proprietor that would be fine because we had read the reviews and were expecting to be pleased. Not so much! We asked for our 3 topping pizza to be cooked so that the pepperoni would be toasted around the edges. It was not. It was more like just sliced and not much cooked. The crust however was overcooked and dried out to resemble a baked cardboard. The topping was sparse and there was a 2 inch strip around the edge with no topping. The other pizza, a combo, was also so-so, but the cardboard crust was not dried out. The store is located in the Ghetto with a share of homeless and others loitering around. This is good pizza. It could be great pizza, at least in my opinion, with a few easy tweaks. And, I get that people have their preferences with the style of crust, how much sauce, and all of that. So again, this is just one person's take on how this place could go from good to great. 1. Crust... This is the thin, Me and Ed's style crispier crust. I like all different styles of pizza, and this crust is actually pretty good. Wouldn't change a thing here. 2. Sauce... I wish they used to just a touch more sauce. When you think about it, that's where a lot of the flavor of the pizza comes from. And, the last couple of times I've had pizza from here, at least the takeout version, it was a little bit dry. Honestly, I couldn't really tell you what the sauce tasted like, because there so little on the pizza. 3. Toppings... I have a couple of what I think are important suggestions here. First, I think the goal should be that every bite of pizza gives you a bite of most of the toppings. But this time, the first few bites of the slice had toppings, but by the time you got to a couple of inches away from the crust, there was hardly any toppings. This is a pretty easy fix in the kitchen... Just make sure that when you're spreading stuff around you go almost all the way to the edge of the crust. I also think a combo pizza, or let's say a six item pizza, should have six times the total amount of toppings as the one item pizza. In other words, if I order a pepperoni pizza and it comes with 30 slices of pepperoni, and if I order a mushroom pizza that comes with one cup of mushrooms, then when I ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza it should have 30 slices of pepperoni plus the one cup of mushrooms. I mean, you charge extra per topping right? My combo pizza that I ordered last night included pepperoni, but there lots of slices that had not a speck of pepperoni on them. Same with all other toppings. Last thing on the toppings: in my opinion, those canned mushrooms are gross and disgusting! You guys use fresh red onion and green bell pepper on your pizzas, which is great. Please please please consider using fresh mushrooms too! If you feel like they tend to dry it out in the oven, just sauté some fresh mushrooms in a little olive oil and garlic and leave them in the pan until you need them for the toppings. That's what I do at home, and it's amazing. 4. Cheese... I wish you guys were a little more generous with your mozzarella. And, if you were to add a little bit of fontina into the grated cheese mix that would be awesome. And a nice sprinkle of Parmesan or Romano on the top would help a lot too. Not the powdery stuff in the green box, but actual grated cheese. Mozzarella by itself is nice and gooey, but it doesn't have the flavor of the other cheeses. You guys get extra points for including the little to-go cups of chili flakes, grated cheese, jalapeños, ranch (we never use ranch with pizza... Seems really weird to me! But hey, that's just my opinion, right?) Those little packets that some places give you are a pain in the rear, and I think it's really lame when they charge you extra for them. I know this review is super long, and maybe it's none of my business to suggest how they might change what they're doing. But I really like this place, and I want to love it. read more

Saw this place when I was going to MOM'S OLD FASHION BURGER one day and wanted to give it a try. The staff were very nice and the menu was super easy to navigate which made it super easy. I went with a three item, a pepperoni, and a cheese. I have to say the pizza reminds me of me n Ed's except they load up the cheese. I enjoyed all of the pizza, but I have to say where they lacked some is that the crust were undercooked so they did not give you that good crisp crunch that you expect. The flavors are all there and maybe I just caught them on a busy day so they rushed my pizza, but I'm telling you a little bit more on the crust and you've got one hell of a pizza. First time at this small mom & pop pizza joint. My cousins who live in town always order from here, even though it's not near them. They were very busy. Wait was a little longer than expected after calling in our order. We got 4 large pizzas (1 pep, 1 cheese, 2x 3-topping) for $56 that fed about 6-8 adults, and we still had a few leftover slices. The crust is definitely similar to Me-n-Eds, perfectly crispy and on the thinner side. I loved it. Red sauce was delicious and ratio of toppings and cheese to sauce was good. Mushrooms come from a can, but still tasted good. The pizzas traveled for about 30 minutes before we devoured it, but they were all still warm in temp. Staff was nice. I loved that we were supporting a small, locally-owned, non-chain business during the pandemic. You should too! So next time you're craving pizza, order from Lela's! read more

Sorry Lela I really wanted to find a hidden gem but I was dissapointed. First the good tho....It is very reasonably priced and I like the crispy crust. Aside from that though the pizza really didnt have that much flavor and thought it was very plain. What really was dissapointing was the lack of toppings. Lelas REALLY scimps on the toppings. Very sparse amount on the toppings AND there is a two inch collar around the perimeter of the pizza where there is no sauce no cheese and no toppings. Me-N-Eds does the same thing and I don't buy their pizza either. I'd much rather pay a bit extra and get a quality made pizza full of flavor and toppings. Just being honest. Bacon was raw which is unforgivable and while the pizza crust was crunchy is was not browned whatsoever but white. Never had anything like it. Lela's Pizzeria is real good pizza thats has great value! I've been wanting to try this pizzeria for a few weeks now. It's like 17 miles from my house which makes this place a logistical problem. I swear this is another Me & Ed's Pizza Ex-Employee (Javence Pizzeria, being another) who open up their own business. The crust is the same as you would find in Me & Eds, which is not a bad thing. A crispy cracker thin crust. Me & Ed's have been in business for 60 years, so not a bad formula. The pizza is good and the toppings are proportional for the size of the pizza. You get real good value here as you can see in my pics. I ordered a Double Pepperoni and Mushroom, with extra sauce. My total bill was $14.00. Its a small place, but they do have tables to have in-house. By bottom line...would I go back? Most definitely, but I would have to be closer to their business. Reminds me of pizza growing up in the valley. Very OG Me and Ed's/Round Table. Owner served me and was so kind. Somewhat difficult to find at night, lights on the building for Lela's were out.
