Blink and you'll miss it! Tucked away in a small shopping plaza off of Palm and Nees is some of the best pizza in Fresno, hands down. Let's start with the vibe. The shop itself is small and isn't afraid of color. The warm red walls and beautiful photos of ingredients are vibrant but not distracting. There is a very chill, clean vibe about the place. Once you go up to the counter to order, you're greeted by friendly, knowledgeable staff that are more than willing to explain the menu. They say there are two styles of pizza, a Detroit-style square, thick-crust pizza and the round California style. I opted for the Pinnacle PBR pizza, Detroit style, since the staff said this is their most popular. I also got the Gilroy Garlic Chicken pizza as a round, and then of course, some garlic knots. I am not a pizza person, so I am very rarely enthusiastic about pizza, but this place blew my expectations out of the water! First, the garlic knots--buttery, soft, and the perfect pull-apart texture. I'm not huge on marinara sauce, but even without it, I could easily eat 5 of these. So addicting! Next, the Pinnacle PBR--UN. BELIEVE. ABLE!! The thick crust had the perfect charred CRUNCH on the outside with a soft, warm bread crumb on the inside. Not to mention, the red sauce, pepperoni, and ricotta cheese were already an incredibly rich and savory combination together--but topped off with hot honey? I've been changed! Finally, the Gilroy Garlic Chicken--delicious! I honestly wish I got it Detroit style since that is definitely better, but nonetheless the pizza was the perfect amount of garlic-y and salty. This review is kind of "hit and miss" with me. I think they're absolutely incredible and stand out among other pizza chains in the Fresno area. However, there are certain things that keep them from a 5 star rating for me. First off, on their app, they don't allow you to customize certain pizzas. We wanted to get the Margarita but it wouldn't allow to take off the basil, jess had a reaction to basil last time she had it fresh and we wanted to get it on the side for myself, but no option to do such was available. I called the restaurant to inform them i had just placed a delivery order, but before i could continue with my inquiry, i was given the response of, "ooooookkkkk", so i then proceeded to explain the situation with the basil and the tone from the woman on the phone changed and she became very helpful and even suggested i get it on the side and that she would make sure they did that for us. The customer service experience started off rocky for me, but ended on a good note, which was nice. Secondly, the California Crust is not what you think. If you're used to the thicker version from Me n Eds pizza; this is not that. It's a thinner pizza, almost like a Neapolitan crossed with your standard pie dough. Excellent bite on the crust, little flop on the slice but the pizza overall was a little soupy from the sauce and not enough cheese. This being just the margarita, I can't imagine how it would hold up if you added more than one topping to a customized pie. Third, DO NOT GET IT DELIVERED. I cannot stress that enough. We ordered through their app which happens to go through DoorDash, we were 5min away at a hotel and our order still showed up cold. I want to partially blame it on driver incompetence, cause it wasn't the first driver within a two day span in this town that brought us cold food, but for being so close, you would've thought it was going to come piping hot! It didn't. We paid over $40 to get cold pizzas. If you're gonna come here, come inside and order it. I probably wouldn't even suggest placing a pick up if you aren't a few min away heading straight there. This was the kind of place you see so many amazing reviews and its truly deserving of the praise. The only location we've had so far that has an authentic Detroit Style Pizza experience. The pizza had a great darkened crust on the edges that gave an amazing crunch with a buttery flavor. The cup and crisp pepperonis were a nice touch with a rich and hearty marinara sauce. It honestly reminded me of an elevated version of the Little Caesar version, except this one is properly cooked and tastes/has better quality ingredients. I just wish we could've tried it fresh out of the oven. If you have any heartburn or gallbladder issues, unfortunately this place is gonna be a pass. We have both of those conditions and after we each ate a slice of the Detroit, we were done for. Mind you, we got a medium that comes with 4 slices and we couldn't finish it cause of the pain it started to inflict lol. For anyone who isn't dealing with those conditions, i can absolutely see you devouring a medium to yourselves. It is around $18 for a medium pizza or Detroit Style which is reasonable for a Craft Pizza Spot. Overall, i would absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for something different other than Chick Fil A or In N Out that's just a few blocks away. They did a great job on making the pizzas for the most part. It just seems more deserving to eat it there. You get to have the full experience I feel that they are intending for you to have, rather than take the risk of getting it delivered and getting a cold pie. read more

Came to 99 Craft Pizza for the first time and ordered the Double Pepperoni and the Pinnacle PBR, both Detroit-style. The Pinnacle PBR was really good and I'd definitely recommend it. The undercarriage was nice and crunchy, which I really enjoyed. The Double Pepperoni was very airy and soft with a great texture. It was lowkey kinda saucy, so if you're not into a saucier pizza, just keep that in mind. Other than that, it was really good. I love this pizza and the first time I got it the same style and size it look bigger than this one this time. So I measure it to make sure. The description says 8 by 10 and this one it's a little bit too smaller. Maybe they didn't use the mold or something. I missed a little chunk. I love this pizza so a little missing it's a big loss for me. The flavor it's there and I really would like to keep on coming but please make it the right size next time. Everything I've tried here has been outstanding. The staff is accommodating the best thing - they offer build your own with other sauce options! It works out perfectly for me since I have a tomato allergy. I also have different options of sauces not just one. I also suggest the garlic knots. They are perfect. The service was amazing! The woman who was helping us was very nice and energetic! The food came out fresh and quick! The wait was only about 15mins for all 3 items we ordered. When we got there late Saturday night (7:30pm ish) it was pretty empty with only 1 other man inside with us. It was very clean and felt very well put together! The food was excellent! We got the Pinnacle BBR (Detroit style) and the Underground Gardens (cali style) along with the garlic cheese bread. Both pizzas were excellent! The garlic cheesy bread was just alright. It sounded extremely good at the time but it turned out to be much closer to "eh". I'd get it again if I were craving cheese bread, but I would opt to skip it in general. Ambiance average & service was mixed (2 ppl, one not great as he seemed annoyed & didn't know about the Yelp Elite event despite it being late afternoon on the second day but other guy was fine). The double pepperoni Detroit was good but also really salty. Would've liked more sauce too. The regular cheese was ok but the crust, as you can see, was pretty dark to outright burned. Today was the day I walked in before 11am. A few minutes before they opened and Gavin was making the pies for slice sales. I had one thing on my mind since I heard about this place making Detroit style pies. I ordered a large Detroit cheese. I only ate one slice before buying a slice of round cheese to help me make a fair review. Both styles were great. With Annessos right down the street where the best pizza in Fresno is made IMO this could have been a rough score. I've eaten more pizza in my 66 years than Dave Portnoy and I lived the first 19 years of my life in northern NJ. That said 99 Craft has a very unique and delicious Detroit style pie. The puffy yet crisp crust is outstanding. The sauce they ladle over the top was so good I almost chewed my fingers off. I believe the thick crust is par baked and finished in the oven after you order. Either way I believe the Detroit style pies they churn out at 99 Craft are absolutely in the conversation of the best pizza in Fresno. I may be a retired furniture business veteran but pizza is my passion and 99 Craft is the kind of business that gets me excited. Order this pizza every chance you get. Decided to try this place after hearing about it on Nextdoor. I ordered Valley Deluxe to go. Picked up my pizza after about 15 minutes after placing my order online. Upon inspecting the pizza it looked nothing like the photo on their website for to go orders. I will include photos for comparison. Maybe they changed the way they make it since the sauce was placed on top of the toppings unlike pictured. The crust and sauce were delicious. All downhill from there. Cupped pepperoni was charred and tasted like charcoal. Again picture for online orders shows flat pepperoni. Hardly any sausage and no basil to be found on pizza as well. Makes me think sauce on top is to cover lack of toppings and burnt pepperoni. Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it left me disappointed. Pizza wise it was delicious. I liked the type of dough they used. It doesn't taste heavy at all. Flavors all blended well in one bite. Garlic knots are okay. Personally I preferred them in bite size but it's okay. Service was prompted and friendly. We placed an order over the phone and in about 20 mins, we were able to pick it up. When my brother who was visiting from out of town suggested trying 99 Craft Pizza, honestly, my thought was "Oh, yay, another pizza place." No worries, I have beer in the fridge, and we'll get it to go. When the friendly cashier took our orders and we got the pies home and I took one bite of the Valley Supreme I ordered, I was floored. So much flavor! It was the one of the most flavorful, savory pizzas I've ever had. Even the olives are better. The California crust is excellent. This is the first pizza that equals or surpasses that Fresno classic for me, you all know who I'm talking about. I will definitely be bringing the family to what may be my new favorite.
