Me, my wife and our roommate frequented this bar while on travel assignment in the area (we are all 27 years old for context). The last time we visited was on college night. They indicated that our ids looked shady and we need to come back later when they have their scanner (we all have different residencies). We didn't give the bartender grief (she served us days prior) because it was college night and we figured they were just trying to be safe. Again we are 27. So we came back, they let us in and served us begrudgingly even though we did exactly what they asked. After serving us a drink, we were talking to other friends there when a bouncer came up, asked for our ids again and when they realized they were wrong again decided to refuse us service, ban us and kick us out. I had ordered multiple Jell-O shots that the owner was pedaling (paid to her personal Venmo) almost every time we went and they still decided to kick us out. They also tried to make me pay for the drinks they served us when we didn't even get to drink them. Literally the worst service myself and the others have ever received. Would stray away. read more

They have a new thing called line leap and they only let that line in. I got there at 8:30 and waited an hour and left. I was at the front of the line the entire time and they said they were going to let the entire line leap line in before us. I've gotten kicked out for being "too drunk" and wasn't even drunk. This bar is overpriced and the workers are terrible. The line leap thing is an absurd so don't plan on getting in unless you pay $20! read more

Not a fan of this place. Security is overly aggressive. Especially with women. Multiple friends have reported security grabbing them and speaking to them inappropriately and cursing. Try another bar. read more

Finished a water bottle before getting in line to get in. Bouncer said "finished a drink in parking lot, you can't come in." I said I was military he said "fuck you" mentioning we hate the military. I used to go to jimbos I loved it I was treated with respect for being in the army. They have changed. Bouncer with the goatee needs to go. 30 people were with me at least and would have made the bar a ton of money. It wasn't packed and people were not having fun. I hope that if you head here they are more respectful to military and physicians because it was utmost disrespect. Ambiance was not good. I have lived in Fresno for close to a decade and never went here (for obvious reasons). But now that I don't live here, I somehow got dragged into going to Jimbo's because I somehow ended up with a group of friend's friends who apparently have no idea what nice things in life are like. I thought, what the hell, it won't be that bad. But it was, oh yes, it was bad. I was quite honestly scared for my life, given the clientele that I saw there. The bartenders were kind of aloof. One of the server ladies was really friendly, and there was a guy who gave me a cigarette, but that was about it. The bar reminded me of a bad parody of an 80s movie, and you had sprinkled in fratboys (who have probably not been to college but looked as such), cowboys (with the hat and all), gang-affiliated people, the 300-pound guy who drinks too much and starts a fight, and people who looked like they are on the FBI watchlist for storming the capitol a few weeks ago. At one point a bar brawl was brewing, and I was getting ready to duck out of there. But, yes, Jimbo's is exactly what you would expect it to be. It is not a hidden gem or a "cool dive bar," it is a townie bar where if you are "different" in any way, expect to not have a good time and be invisible. And if your friends suggest that it's an "offbeat dive bar" where you are going to have fun, like some of my friends did, well, then take my advice, and drop these friends, delete their numbers and block them on social media. Completely unprofessional establishment and these people do not know how to run a business. The security guards like to get aggressive with women that are smaller than them, I'm sure it's a power trip for them. I'v been to multiple bars in the Central Valley and not once have I been kicked out. I've had multiple people tell me horror stories about this bar and I should've listened. Definitely never coming back. Maybe train your guards to kick out people who actually deserve it. read more

I wish I could post with no stars but I can't. Talk about a racist establishment. They need to retrain their bartenders on how to hold a tab open and close it out for someone. They didn't check ID's and handed over his credit card to some random person. Then when I went back to talk to someone they made up a story about closing me out handing me my card. I went outside and dropped it in the parking lot and wen back in to ask for my card again?? They said they had footage. But yet when I asked to see this footage. She said no and that I wasn't allowed back in the bar. read more

Good service and a really dark bar area due to the awesome florescent lights. The music is old school ( Redbone)..and country which is the way to go here. Pool tables abound in the back part of the bar..with more bar seating. Will be back many times over! read more

Look, I moved out-of-State years ago. So, when I came back in May of this year to visit, I asked people to take me to a bar that plays live country music. This place disappointed. I mean, I was told it was going to be lively, good music, good crowd. I got none of those things. From what I can remember, the beers were reasonably priced. But that was the only positive thing I can think of. Nothing much to report. Honestly, I think this is the shortest review I've given because there was nothing going on. Nothing to report. The place was dead, I had about 15 friends from out of town with me and we wanted to dance.We ordered plenty of alcohol and had the dance floor going strong, but the female bartender called me a bitch and told me I could leave. (Why?!?!) I did nothing wrong. Apparently that female bar tender is well known for treating people poorly and cussing at them. The bar service was awful. They need to improve their customer service if they want to compete with other local and better bars. Truly disappointed with the service. Don't use the bathroom of your opposite sex because you'll be thrown out with your pants down. Otherwise, it's an okay time. I've been here many times and who knew you couldn't relieve yourself in a bathroom labeled for "men" even though there was no men in the bathroom or in line to use the "men's" bathroom. Who knew it was so straight that they'll kick you out if you do!! They should have a bouncer at the bathroom to make sure no one goes in the wrong stall!! Just saying. And there is no explaining, "just leave and you're not allowed back in here!" Pretty narrow minded and unpleasant to say the least. read more

Me and my husband Casey have been coming to jimbos for years- this has been our favorite bar for forever. We have brought multiple friends to this bar, local and from out of town. I am so disappointed to say that we will never return. Tonight, a friend who was with us the whole night, was completely harassed and attacked for absolutely no reason right in front of us. As a result of this, she was escorted out by security- after multiple females appeared in her face, in my face and in our friends while we were standing amongst ourselves conversing. When conflict had arised, I asked my husband to grab a bouncer to escort these females out- they were taken out and then allowed back in because of connections to the owner. Harassment is never okay, regardless of who you know. One of the females who was allowed back in also threw a drink on my husband Casey, who had grabbed the bouncer and my friend who was not even engaged in the conversation and it's her birthday. She was allowed back in right in front of our eyes as we walked out. What a joke Kim- please do better. read more

Went from the best bar in town to the worst. Fights nightly. Racist bartenders who apparently can't read and will hand your debit/credit card back to anyone! I am the 5th person I know of that has had this happen to them. Avoid bartenders Brandon and Kim. Horrible "management". The security guards laugh about the fact they are unlicensed! Absolutely horrible guest service 10/10 do not recommend, saw people getting towed, wait in the line is 1 hour or more unless you show up at 8pm. Go to old town or palace save yourself from this booboo place. Not very fun once you get inside also terrible location for being such a poorly ran place their stars make sense almost 2/5.
