If you're lucky enough to live near one of the locations Sunny Up frequents, I imagine you're a regular. If you're not, you'll find yourself driving 20 minutes across town to visit this food truck. Sunny Up is now one of my favorite places to recommend that friends try. They have the best breakfast sandwiches in Seattle, bar none. The ingredients are fresh, the cooking is consistent, and the menu items (not just the names, but yes - the names) are creative. If you're like me, and you hesitate when you see an unfamiliar sauce or a jam on your B&E sammy...be brave. These folks know what they're doing. Try: The Frida Avokahlo and add bacon, "stuffed" (with a perfectly seasoned hash brown) and a side of the garlic aioli if you like it saucy. The garlic kale makes this bad boy so flavorful. Follow them on instagram to see where they're parked every weekend. read more

My husband discovered Sunny Up when they catered a breakfast at his work. He was raving about it for quite some time. Then to our luck, Sunny Up started showing up on the schedule at Ravenna once or twice a month! The first time they came, we ventured down for breakfast! He was right! They definitely serve up the best breakfast sandwiches in Seattle! My fave is the Mia Ham. Rosemary Ham, Egg, Havarti cheese and garlic mayo on a ciabatta bun. The ham is juicy and bursting with flavor. They have many sandwich options including different meat choices; pepper bacon, sausage, pastrami & lox. As well as many vegetarian options: kale, avocado, peppers, hashbrown patty, and even a plain egg and cheese. As a bonus, there's an option to "stuff" (add a hashbrown patty) any sandwich! Couple more menu offerings include: hashbrown patties, donut holes with cinnamon sugar & yogurt. Looking for a quick breakfast bite, give them a whirl! You won't get disappointed!! read more

I love how the menu items are inspired by as well as an ode to badass women. The marketing was a seller for me at first, but I was completely taken away after trying the sandwiches. My favorites were the Ruth Bacon Ginsburg and Sausage Patti Smith because I love bacon and sausage. Sandwiches are served with one easy egg on a telera roll, but you can customize your egg prep at checkout and also add/remove any ingredients. I also ordered hash browns with harissa salt. The hash browns were a little greasy, which I would've liked them more crunchy, but the harissa salt was amazing! I would definitely consider purchasing a bottle of the harissa salt next time. Other than sandwiches, Sunny Up also has beverages, sides (donuts and greek yogurt) and merchandise for sale. I love how easy it is to order online for pick-up. Be sure to check which location the truck will be at before placing your order! read more

Whoa! My new breakfast sammie go to place! Sort of reminds me of the now defunct "Big Egg" in Portland. Lovely sammies on a perfectly toasted ciabatta like roll!. Stuff tried: Frieda Avokahlo: garlic kale, smashed avocado, fontina cheese, fried egg on perfectly toasted ciabatta roll. Somehow so well constructed it all holds together really well! Delicious! Hasbrowns: nice and crispy with a zesty harissa salt sprinkle! Get this! Donut holes with cinnamon sugar: nice addition to your breakfast! A little stodgy on the inside but that might be just the batch Anchorhead coffee: one of my favorite local roasters so thrilled they serve this!! This place is still a food truck with no permanent location so remember to check their website for where they are located for the day. Super easy on line ordering is a bonus! read more

Five stars for the sandwiches, five stars for the hashbrown patties, and I'd give more than five stars if I could for creative menu naming. We not only got a GREAT brunch with some friends, but a good chuckle about the names. I'd gladly support the business again. We had the Pastrami Cline and the Nina Smoked Salmone. The pastrami was a full sandwich, like super full, but managed to be hearty but not heavy. We also felt like we were being a little risky with the lox on the Nina Smoked Salmon, but it totally paid off. Would definitely recommend them both and a hashbrown patty if you hadn't been before. Only regrets were we didn't take pics, and felt a smidge overpriced. But hey, it's Seattle, everything does, and I can support a food truck with a mission like this. read more

Loved the egg sandwich here! I got the plain Jane goodall and I just have one word - WOW. Perfectly cooked scrambled eggs in a light toasted bread sandwich with cheese, and I also added a piece of hash brown which made the whole sandwich even better and tastier! The hash brown is a real game changer - I would definitely recommend adding that to your sandwich. read more

Best breakfast sandwich ever! We were going to have breakfast at an eat in restaurant, but it was an hour wait. So glad we drove 2 minutes more to find this food truck, Sunny Up! I had a hard time ordering, because the sandwiches all sounded so good. I finally decided on the Ruth tater Ginsberg w/an added egg. It was so delicious! Also, their drip coffee is great. My husband ordered the one with pastrami, which he said was also good. Orange juice is good also. We hope they're here tomorrow. I highly recommend this food truck! Mmm mmm good! read more

We visited the Sunny Up truck as it was parked in the parking lot of Chucks Hops. The menu is simple but the ingredients are premium. I couldn't resist the first sandwich on the list - pepper bacon, egg, and tomato jam. Unbelievably savory flavors, hearty bacon, well seasoned egg, delicious tomato. I highly recommend this sandwich! read more

Probably the 20th sandwich from here. The Josephine (bacon) is my top pick. I once said no sauce and regretted it. The combo of flavors reminds you the cook is actually a Chef. Nice folks good food! Stoked when they park on the West Seattle island read more

Tried this food truck over the weekend and wasn't disappointed with their sandwiches! Highly recommend their most popular sandwich with the bacon jam, but the avocado kale egg sandwich was equally good, perfect if you're looking for something on the lighter side. As for the donuts, they weren't bad but they weren't great - too dense for my liking. read more

first time with these egg sandwiches was a complete success! i sampled both the ruth bacon ginsberg and the nina salmone. the latter was my favorite! the dill and lox pair so well with a scrambled egg that it really knocked my hopeful taste buds out of the park. the size is also right on the money. one sandwich and you're going to be sated for a while. the options to choose from allow carnivores and vegetarians to both be happy, assuming eating eggs is within your diet. this may have been my first trip but it definitely won't be my last. i can already imagine pining away for one of these in the coming weeks. thanks for making even grey pacific northwest days sunny with your great food and customer service. read more

Best. Breakfast. Ever. Sunny Up came every week to my work but sadly that was before the pandemic. A couple months ago it was brought to my attention that the truck was still operating during weekends so I dash on over to the truck almost every weekend to get breakfast! You seriously cannot go wrong with any of the sandwiches on the menu, but here are my husband and I's favorites: 1) Ruth Bacon Ginsburg - My husband LOVES bacon so this was a really choice for him to first try this sandwich, and this may be the only sandwich he will try. :P He says the bacon is cooked to PERFECTION which is just icing on the cake in an already perfectly tasting sandwich. 2) Nina Smoked Salmone - This is MY personal favorite. I love fish so when I first saw a salmon sandwich on the menu, I instantly ordered it. On top of that, the sandwich comes with a DILL cream cheese and I love everything and anything pickled so this made the sandwich perfect. 3) Hash Brown - Whatever sandwich(es) you end up ordering, you MUST order the hash browns, or two, or three. The salt that they use to top off the hash browns make them taste even better! Come to this food truck to pick up a very tasteful breakfast! The truck is also owned and operated by two of the nicest women. :) They are well worth the drive if they aren't located in a nearby neighborhood during the weekends (they are consistently in West Seattle, Ballard, Central District, and Greenwood) - refer to both their Instagram page and their website for where they'll be every weekend! read more

I recently discovered this food truck while on a walk in West Seattle and felt very lucky to learn that they stop here most weeks. I will come to this truck as often as humanly possible - they make the best breakfast sandwiches in Seattle! I've tried many in the city but their flavors, especially with the stuffed hashbrown, are unbelievable. Highly recommend trying anything on the menu! read more

I logged on at 8 a.m. to preorder; the proposed 8:45 a.m. pickup time was too late for me, so I approached the truck on foot. The woman at the window greeted me with a smile, took my two-item order, and informed me my food would be ready in a surprisingly precise 7 minutes. And it was! Both sandos (one bacon, one ham "stuffed") were delicious. I'll be back! read more

Best breakfast sandwiches in Seattle-hands down. Do yourself a favor, try them and then and you'll understand why they are so popular. Every sandwich I've had is so delicious and warm-the Frida Avocahola (add bacon) is my favorite. The RBG is a close second. They really nail flavors that pair perfectly together and have a wide variety for every palette. The harissa hash browns and donuts are amazing too-don't miss out on those. Had Sunny up come out for our company meeting today. They showed up on time in a clean truck. We had about 30 people here and everyone loved the food. Everything tasted great, and they did not skimp on the size of the sandwich's. My crew raved about the fruit cup and bacon to die for. Will hire them again for sure. read more

This food truck is a burst of sunshine! I cannot rave about it more. The only complaint that I would have is that it doesn't park in SLU so I'm not able to enjoy it more frequently! We've been a couple of times and have ordered: - Spamala Harris: My absolute favorite and if they have it as a special on the menu GET IT! - Ruth Bacon Ginsberg: My 2nd favorite. Their bacon is so delicious. - Sausage Patti Smith: Good. - Frida Avokahlo: Good, but is messy. - Hash Brown: Another absolute must. It's delicious. I highly recommend finding out where this truck is parking next and grabbing some delicious egg sandwiches. It's all worth it! Side note: Love the naming convention! read more

I'd been reading about this food truck for a while now but assumed it would be a very long time until I was able to actually try it out because of its locations and schedule not matching up with my own. So when I saw they were actually going to be on the eastside within a convenient timeframe, I jumped at the opportunity immediately and raced down to the location about 30 minutes before they were going to wrap up.....and it was ABSOLUTELY worth the trip! I tried out a few different sandwiches and they all are easily the most uniquely flavorful breakfast sandwiches I've ever experienced. You can definitely taste the level of quality in the ingredients and craftsmanship. Ruth Bacon Ginsburg - perfectly cooked bacon with a tomato jam that ties the savory aspects together just right Frida AvoKahlo - i was very curious how this was going to be executed and my expectations were pleasantly exceeded, with the perfect amount of avocado mashed enough to not allow chunks from falling out of each bite and a healthy amount of garlic infused kale Sausage Patti Smith - exactly as described on the menu (in the best way) except, the sausage they use is AWESOME. It tastes either homemade or like its from a local artisan sausage maker?? My roommate had the Patstrami Cline and said it was "very good" and I'll take his word for it! And I only judge a food establishment on the FOOD no matter how good/bad or fast/slow their service is (I think that should have its own rating system so as not to ruin places repuatations from one crazy person's bad experience) That said, it was definitely an icing on the cake that my service was GREAT! They were highly appreciative that I'd been following the truck/excited to try them for a while and that I made it all the way out to finally enjoy it and support them, and Tara gave me a free sticker! Don't miss the opportunity to try this one of a kind breakfast truck if its ever in your area or you're up early enough and craving savory breakfast! read more

Wow. I almost need a minute just to regroup after how good my sandwich was. I made some modifications to the sausage patty sando (sorry cooks I know it was annoying) but holy *bad word* it was amazing. I highly highly recommend adding the garlic kale to whichever you get - it's the perfect texture and flavor to break up the heaviness of the meat, egg and hashbrown (and yes you have you add a hashbrown too)!!!! Worth tracking them down and making the drive up to shoreline from the city! And for the price, AMAZING! read more

Saw the truck setting up on my way in to work. After some meeting, I suggested we go check it out. I love trying new food blind. Knowing absolutely nothing about this truck, I ordered the Spamala and a few others for my team. It kind of smelled up our immediate work area but in a good way. I was really pleasantly surprised at how good the sandwich was. Admittedly since the pandemic times, I haven't had much gourmet food but this totally hit the spot. The egg could have been slightly more runny but then it would make an even bigger mess. But love the seasoning, love the sauces, love the bread. Yeah. Happy camper. No particular recommendation for what to get. I got a smattering of sandwich for the guys. Everybody enjoyed theirs. read more

Those harissa hashbrowns are to die for! I crave them regularly. I love the punny women-empowered menu items and am SO happy that the taste of the sandwiches are just as enjoyable. Drove 35 minutes to get to this food truck and it was WORTH IT. Totally blown away by the bacon jam on the Ruth Bacon Ginsberg. The Harissa hash browns were out of this world and I will definitely purchase the seasoning next time (along with a T-shirt). Packaging was so adorable and held my sandwich together perfectly (no one wants a drippy sandwich on the go)! Pro tip: put the hash browns on the sandwich. You're welcome. read more

Some of my issues here may just be growing pains. I visited on their second day, so take these complaints with a grain of salt. The good: The sandwich names. Too clever. The availability. I can stop by on my way to my 8am job? Way to make my day a lil better, Sunny Up. Thanks for being up and open when it's dark out. The service. Super sweet folks doling out sandwiches. The bread. This is arguably the biggest decision in a breakfast sandwich, and they knocked it out of the park. I'd eat this bread all the time. The flavors. In theory. I'll explain more... The bad: The packaging. I get that these are supposed to be cutesy, grab-n-go sandwiches that are easy to eat (as food truck food should be). But if I'd actually eaten this on the way to work, I would have been covered - COVERED - in egg yolk. They offer to cook your egg however you want, but I felt like I had to get the authentic Sunny Up experience and do whatever they did normally. The yolky egg sandwiches are in little paper bags. 1) The yolk ended up sliding all the way to the bottom of the bag thanks to gravity. 2) I couldn't even get the thing out of said tiny bag without puncturing the yolk. Mess everywhere. I'd suggest a small, compostable container. Sure it's not as cute, but it's way more practical. The flavors... so I had the Nina Smoked Salmone. I love the concept and all the flavors there work well together... But there was so much cream cheese I almost forgot there was egg on my sandwich. Could have used more salmon too, for the price. The after-effect. There's no way to know for sure what I ate was the culprit. And I know that. But the one day I had this for breakfast, my stomach was not happy. Fine since... so... yeah. Maybe growing pains. read more

Always look forward to this food truck on the weekends now. Currently it's stationed at Chuck's Hop Shop on 85th during Sunday mornings. I didn't have very high expectations the first time I tried it but man was I blown away. I got the Ruth Bacon Gainsburg. It comes with eggs any style, I got mine fried, bacon, tomato jam, in some sort of artisan bread with cheese on it. I also got a hash brown which has harissa salt on it. Man was that a delicious hearty breakfast. My boyfriend tried the Mia Ham and enjoyed that one as well. The second time we came to this food truck we waited probably 20-30 minutes for our order when it only took about 5 last time. When my boyfriend went to ask how much longer the guy said "a while" and so my boyfriend asked for a estimate in minutes and the guy just said "a while". That's not a very good answer. If you know you're behind you should definitely let the customers know in case they are not able to wait that long. This is why my review has 4 stars rather than 5. The food is great, the customer service needs some work. read more

I'm awful at remembering to grab breakfast at some point in my morning, so I was definitely excited when I saw this truck parked outside work this morning! I got the Nina Smoked Salmone, which includes nova lox, dill cream cheese, pickled red onion, and an egg (typically comes sunny side up, but I asked for it over hard). Oh man was it good! The bun was fluffy yet sturdy, a perfect vessel for the sandwich. Maybe a little heavy on the cream cheese, but it was so flavorful that I didn't mind. I found that the contents slipped out towards the back a bit (I mean an egg, cream cheese and lox isn't going to stay in place easily), but I loved it. It meant I had a bunch of extra lox and cream cheese at the end that I topped the remaining bit of my sandwich with before polishing it off. I wish I'd tried their hash browns after reading some other reviews, but I'm sure I'll come back next time this truck is at work. Also the truck appears to be women owned and operated, and all the sandwiches' names are plays off of influential women (Ruth Bacon Ginsberg, Sausage Patti Smith), so a big plus in my book! Keep up the great work! read more

delicious. expect a wait but it's worth it. come hungry leave happy. for me it was two meals with of food.

Food is good but the wait times are bad. They have an online system where you can order in advance. We tried this and only after we paid did a time estimate display - over two hours for a couple breakfast sandwiches. We went to the truck because there was no way to cancel online. Got there and they asked if we wanted them in 20 minutes but offered no apology or explanation and seemed kind of annoyed, as though we were inconveniencing them. We've ordered at the truck without messing with the online system a few times and each time the wait has been over 20 minutes for two egg sandwiches. The food is good and the prices decent enough, just don't go if you want your food soon or a friendly interaction at the truck. read more

This food truck has the best breakfast sandwiches around. We've already gone three times, it's becoming a Sunday ritual because they are so good! We've had the bacon sandwich (used to be the Bacon Ginsburg, but they changed the name) and the tomato jam on that sandwich is incredible. It makes the whole thing. We've also had the Spamala and I loved the combination of flavors. The pineapple takes that sandwich to a whole other level. We also had the Nina Smoked Salmone...it was phenomenal and the dill was a perfect balance to the rich and creamy sauce. Sooo good! Mia Ham.
