Breads are ok. Sweet ones are bit dry and bland. Perhaps adding more filling or topping would help in addition to cooler shelving. I do think it's good that they have different specials like buy 4 get one free later in the day so you can try them all. Have been here multiple times. Dalgona coffee & Thai tea are ok. Thai tea was a bit too sweet because of the thick brown sugar syrup at the bottom which i a twist from standard thai teas. Gives it a molassy taste. My go-to drink from Sunmerry is the Jasmine Green Tea with Salted Cheese. We got the iced large for $5. I was so excited to get this drink, but it was kind of disappointing. Compared to other locations, this one does not make it as good. Our drinks were filled with a lot of ice and tasted watered down. I kept getting chunks of ice as I was drinking it. You couldn't really taste the salted cheese. It just tasted like a regular jasmine green tea. I prefer the Irvine and 626 locations. Service was quick and safety precautions were in place for covid but I wouldn't come back for their salted cheese drinks. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for some time and finally got the chance to try it out. They have a unique menu with both teas and coffees which is perfect because I love tea and my SO loves coffee! We tried a honey lavender latter and a rose cream tea and both were amazing! The sugar level was perfect and both drinks were very refreshing. The coffee was strong which was great because we find the typical lattes to be too milky and sugary. Service was good and during this covid era, they are not letting customers inside but have a desk out front where you can order and pay. Hope to be back! read more

I'm generally a fan of Sunmerry and Happy Lemon, so I was excited to discover a closer location in OC. Because they're a smaller store, they don't have the full selection of breads and cakes as primary Sunmerry locations do, but they still carry the most popular ones, including the BBQ pork bolo and the super garlic. They can also make any of the Happy Lemon drinks, including my favorite grapefruit green tea, as well as any coffee drink you could possibly want, since they retained their original Press menu as well, so they have lattes, americanos, and more. Unfortunately, their drinks are watery and because I think they're still under different ownership than the rest of the franchise, they don't always honor the same deals as Sunmerry and Happy Lemon do, as I'm on the mailing list and often see Brea excluded from the promotions. It's a bummer because I think this place has the potential to do better if they were more aligned with their parent company in terms of quality, taste and special offers. read more

If you want bad attitude, employee at the front is in a sour mood, and he will rush you. We walked in and without seeing the menu he immediately asked us what we wanted. Our party of three ordered one by one, and the employee kept rushing us saying "Cmon who's next?" Also bread is not sealed! Don't know if that's sanitary. Finally a place close by that has a variety of drink options (including boba) and some yummy baked goods! This was my husband and I's two day experience this week. Day One: Black Milk Tea with Boba: Would totally get this again. As someone who always tends to order her milk teas at boba joints less sweet, this was the PERFECT ratio. I was really pleased with this flavor profile and the boba had great texture. Fresh and soft/chewy. Definitely recommend this. Iced Fog Latte with Boba: (Earl Grey w/vanilla and lavender): My husband got this drink and it had an odd bitter aftertaste. At first we thought the ratios were off or that the earl grey was singed, but after our experience the next day, we realized that it was the lavender that may have impacted this experience. Again, boba was great but I doubt we would order this particular drink again. Day 2: aka... the next day. Mochi Donuts: We pre ordered this earlier in the week and were so excited because we usually would have to venture out to Costa Mesa or Torrance to find these vs some place close to home in Brea. I'm pleased to report that they were delightful :). Would definitely get these again and it was a nice Sunday morning treat. If anyone has been to Fill Bakeshop & Creamery, it tastes pretty darn close to this. Honey Lavender Latte: Found out this was not my jam sadly. This was the drink that confirmed the bitter taste from yesterday was in fact from the lavender. It's such a strong burnt flavor that I can't quite figure out because lavender lattes are supposed to be smooth, balanced and floral. I don't think I can finish drinking this beverage, but a least we know to avoid any items with lavender here in the future. Brown Sugar Boba latte: delish! Perfect level of sweetness and the boba was just as good as yesterday's order which speaks to their product consistency. Highly recommend trying this. Giving this team a 4 star review for their variety, friendly service and even though we've had a mixed experience on some of the beverages we ordered, we look forward to trying other items on their menu to get the full scope of their offerings. I'm giving one star because of the service, not b/c of the coffee, which I unfortunately did not get to try. I went there on Monday to meet up with a friend (she lives in Brea, but I live 20 miles away), and we walked in at 7:12pm. We went to the counter to order the Hawaiian latte, and the tall white chick there tells us in a very fake sweet voice: "oh sorry, we don't have the Hawaiian latte b/c we stop serving coffee, since we close in 15 minutes." The whole time she's saying this I could tell the most important thing for her was to clock out at 7:30 and not to serve us coffee. My friend is nicer than me & said it was okay, that it was our fault & we should have known. I wanted to ask the young woman why they didn't have a sign on the door saying that, but I just glared at her & we went to Starbucks in Target & had their crappy coffee. Since I don't live in Brea & I had this experience, I will probably never return. It's too bad, b/c one of my favorite things to do is to try new coffee places. read more

I am im"pressed" I only tried the latte, and the whole process was quick, friendly, and delicious. My most critical reviews would be... 1) that their lid provider for the cup doesn't seem to fit tightly enough, and so I notice some coffee dripping out of my cup as I walk off to my car. I used to sell these things, so I know how important this is to the consumer. 2)The place is relatively small, so given a bit more popularity, it may be difficult to be a hang out or study spot. That said, it makes this place a good "grab and go" coffee stop with a world variety of flavors available. read more

New favorite coffee place. They are located in the Target center, which has a huge parking lot. Parking always seems to be kind of packed since there is also a gym in that center. Baristas are always friendly and attentive. I have always been acknowledged when walking in and greeted in a friendly manner. They have oat and almond milk in case you are dairy free. I love their oat milk lattes! The espresso is good, smooth and strong. The chai is also very good. Sweet and spicy! Pastries are baked fresh - I have had their gluten free (vegan!!) brownie and it was really good. Pricier then my usual go to's - but the quality and customer service are worth it. I would rather support a local business and spend a few extra cents. read more

This review is for order dated 11/28/21 at 2:39PM. I don't know what the server's name was but she managed to get all 4 orders wrong. My parents asked for cream on top of the vietnamese coffee (which I got before no problem), & she said "we make it with condensed milk, so no need for cream". Then when they got home, they discovered that she did all 4 drinks with little sweet (25%) without asking & the drinks were somehow darker than we're used to & more bitter. Please educate your servers that it's ok to not understand what your customer is asking & actually make an effort to ask your superior, instead of acting like a know-it-all & make your customer feel like they don't know what they're talking about. read more
