Females beware. My daughter attended a EDM concert last night at Sunbar. Loud music and packed with people jumping and dancing. She was with two other friends for about 1.5 hours when a guy nearby started yelling at her. He left and she figured he was drunk or on drugs. She decided to leave about 30 minutes later but her friends stayed. While attempting to walk out a Security guard stopped her and said he needed to talk to her. She asked why and he wouldn't say but wanted her to walk out back with him. She said no and that's when two other Security guards grabbed her and pushed her out into the back alley. These 3 large men started yelling at her accusing her of trying to steal wallets and phones. She offered to be searched and they said no but continued yelling at her. She was super scared and was in fear they were going to hurt her. She ran away into the dark alley behind Sunbar at midnight to escape. The police were called. I tried multiple times to call Sunbar however nobody picks up the phone. She was lucky but I worry what will happen to the next female who is pushed out by herself into a dark alley. Sunbar is dangerous and females should take extreme caution when coming here. read more

We went for a birthday brunch. We are in are 30's. My gf left her wallet at home and they wouldn't let her in, even if she didn't drink. She had to drive over an hour home to get her ID. Then I got a call from my boss and had to step away from the table . I understand I wasn't wearing a mask, but I was standing in the middle of a patio with NOONE around me and I got yelled at to sit at my table, and when I asked if I'm not allowed to make a call? He said NO you need to sit now. Overall I was just not impressed with this place. Just tried out Sunbar with my girlfriend as we are staying across the street for vacation. It was decently crowded for 2PM on a Monday, but we still received excellent service from the bartender as well as the manager who asked us several times how we were doing. The beer selection is huge, my naturally sourced chipotle burger was excellent, and I loved the overall outdoor ambiance. Highly recommend! read more

I been wanting to visit this place for a long while, so my friend and I met up here and the ambiance seemed so fun and we were excited till we got to the bar... we waited about 10 minutes to get anyone to acknowledge us, I understand if the bar is backed up and if they were on a wait, but it wasn't. After waiting we finally decided to wave and catch a bartender's attention, I think it was the bar back who noticed we were trying to get his attention but he just turned and walked away. FINALLY the girl bartender came up to us and not very polite asked do you know what you're ordering? I asked for a bottle of champagne and she said well are you going to order food? I said no then she said replied back not without food you can't, understandable so I asked can I see a drink menu and she said the QR code is right there just pointed at it and proceeded to walk away. I came in last weekend and I just have so many things to say. First off, do the employees know how to shower? or how to clean? I felt unsafe due to low maintenance on personal and facility hygiene. Over priced, and my food and drinks took too long. All the employees also acted kinda funny? Like they were on drugs? I'm not sure exactly what, but everything about this establishment smelt bad, had bad customer service. They were too busy talking to others as I'm dehydrated and desperately needed their service. When I asked when my drinks will arrive, they said "one second" and went back to the bathroom. They argued with me about how long my drinks are taking. read more

I don't know where to start, this place is amazing. Largest beer selection on mill ave hands down. There is 45 draft options and about the same in cans. To say the least the menu is phenomenal. There is options for everyone whether you are in search of a great burger or need some vegan options. They have it all. To top it all off it's got the best music venue with the best sound in the Valley. I highly recommend you check this place out. I will be going back for sure. read more

Came to sunbar tonight and the waitress was so nice and kind, we got a cucumber gin spritz and they served us a cucumber mojito we knew because had previously ordered the mojito so the waitress went back THEN the bartender comes up to us with a very rude and hostile attitude and says "you guys have a question about your drink? that's the cucumber gin?" and we said ummm are you sure it's in the same glass as the mojito as well, and he went on refusing to say that it wasn't the mojito, he was a medium sized man with a beard and he refused to say it wasn't the mojito. the waitress was so kind and bought us the right drink out of her own tab because he was SO RUDE and refused to comp us the right drink. if you come here expect the worst service from the bartender but the rest of the serving staff was very kind! read more

Tyler (manager) was absolutely phenomenal he was able to move us around to make sure we were in an ideal location during our reservation and he checked in on us multiple times had a great attitude and exceeded expectations! Although even though that service was great he wasn't even our server, Gabby was and she was not on top of it at all. She checked in on us one time, literally once while we were there after a couple hours I was really disappointed and the one time she did check on us she did not bring the order right and I will recognize they got busy after we had been there for a while but to not check in once seemed a little ridiculous. I absolutely love this place! The service is always great and the food and drinks are amazing. I was so happy when they opened up after being shut down due to COVID. I came in on Thursday and our server was so sweet and attentive, I didn't catch her name but she had a gorgeous butterfly on tattoo on her chest. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of my experience Friday night. I came in with a group and right away our server made us feel like we were such an inconvenience to her. I believe her name was Amanda and I've honestly never experienced such rude service. I work in the industry, so I understand things get frustrating at times, but it's no excuse to treat customers the way she did us. read more

Ok so our waitress was super amazing...but we were seated in such a horrible area..bad seating super loud we couldn't hear each other conversation..the food took over 1 hour 45 mins to serve and food was terrible I ordered the chicken and waffles 1st time served chicken was burnt second time served chicken was just under burnt and absolutely no flavor to chicken waffles were ok my son ate them . They don't know how to accuracy pour drinks. All the bartenders pour very short. Like very very short, they don't know how to properly count the liquor pours and it shows. They are very needy and try and get you to cash out quickly. They don't even know how to properly deal with guests. The staff is absolutely terrible and it shows. Get better Bartenders of staff that knows how to deal with large quantities of people. They clearly don't know how to deal with large sums or people in general. Sun bar is a joke. Get some Real employees who know how to properly deal with waiting guests. The pours are ass and you really need to go value that if you intend on people to continue to come to your bars the servers think their hot shit and the bouncers are douche bags. Disappointing and not worth the money on my takeout order. Two Thai bowls, one with chicken and one with steak. There was nowhere near enough Thai sauce on the noodles, practically tasteless. The chicken (only three small strips!?!) was way overcooked and almost impossible to eat it was so dry. The noodles and veggies were overcooked as well with minimal veggies. Even the garnish limes had no juice. The only positive was the steak: a decent serving, tender with a good flavor. Unfortunately this wasn't enough to earn more than the one star given. $37 for two inedible dishes. read more

I came in last night and after paying for my tab my server Milena came back and did not bring me my debit card back with her. After horrible service because she was unwilling to properly split our tabs, she told me she didn't have time to look for my card because she was too busy. I am extremely confused how she lost my debit card in the process of swiping it and bringing it back to me which was maybe 10 steps away from the server station. Working in the industry I completely understand the stress that servers may be under but, also if that were me I would have been completely humiliated to lose a customers card, and then proceed to tell them that I am too busy to resolve the issue that she created. She then told me at the end of the night she would look for my card and have the manager leave me a voicemail with the status of my card. I did not receive any voicemail, so there was no effort into looking for my card. We already had reservations to come back the next day for brunch so today I tried talking to a manager and he said there was nothing he could do to help the situation and that cards get lost all the time. How did Milena manage to lose my card that quickly and why was absolutely nothing done in this situation? Which leads me to think she may still have had the debit card. At the restaurant I currently work at, the first thing my manager would have done is offer some sort of compensation, or at least put in any sort of effort to help resolve the issue. The manager told me he could only give me 20% off my current bill because of the situation but then I didn't even receive this. After endless frustration I did not want to continue fighting this. The customer service was completely horrible regarding this situation. I will add that our server today was phenomenal (I didn't catch her name) and RJ the security guard was great too. I'll start this off by saying that the stuffed poblano was on fire! Probably the most amazing meal I've had in a long time. I felt like a virgin experiencing my first time. I was practically crying it was so good. I savored every bite like it was my last one. Mike really knows how to bring out the best with his ingredients and make things pop. The atmosphere was nothing short of perfect for this encounter and I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get their socks blown off or just looking for a really delicious meal and a good time. Staff are all really nice people. Manager, servers, and security were all very accommodating. They have a great champagne special on weekends, although I feel it causes them to get a bit overwhelmed with how busy they get. Long wait but they were able to turn tables over as quickly as they could. I think the food is really good. My friends felt that their eggs were over cooked and the bacon on one of their burgers wasn't cooked fully, but that was the only issue. My only real complaint is that they have a serious Bee problem. It's hard to relax and enjoy a meal when there are seriously so many bees flying in your face and trying to get all over your food and drinks. They were everywhere. My friend is allergic and they weren't able to move us tables. Other than that I do like sunbar and would recommend it. But I'm suggesting to management to get rid of the plants for a while until the bees are gone. read more
