After I told him I was low on time and just rather do a regular pedicure he still went on to do the deluxe. The paint job is terrible and the owner kept telling me to sit down when I was trying to leave so he could keep doing services. The owner still charged me $55 and looked at my toes and said nothing. I called and made a appointment for a broke nail (nail broke the day after getting them done) went into my appt and they were so busy they told me to come in the next day. Second time here.. I'm very critical of where I get my nails done, but I must share my experience was very positive. The owner is very friendly unlike other places I've visited. The tech that did my nails seemed genuinely interested in the state they were in and did a great job. He took his time and I was very pleased. I also had a pedicure and I didn't feel rushed at all. My friend and I came in for pedicures. They sat us next to each other fairly quick which we appreciated. A male employee sits down to start my friend's pedicure. She asks for him to put acrylic. He states " you don't need it", then proceeds to sit and start doing my nails...??? So confusingly, I ask him if he does acrylic and he says "no". They did a great job! I went in for a pedicure after work and luckily the place wasn't too busy. It's a nice spot. Clean. New chairs. The lady was very gentle especially after I pointed out that I had just hiked 14 miles to the top of a mountain over the weekend and really just came in for my achy feet - which desperately needed some attention to detail. She took forever to massage my feet. And by foreeeeeeeever .... I mean that she took her time massaging and rubbing from leg to toe. It was nice that she really took her time. Fantastic! Ok so my husband and I are long time clients at this place. We went for a pedicure yesterday and was disappointed. What's the point on choosing a package when they just rush through the service and play candy crush on their phone. I rate it at a 3 because previous experience has been pleasant however the last 2 visits were so mediocre. I believe the owner is out and you can tell the environment change in that place. I have been a customer with Sunpalm for over 4 years. Hannah did my nails first and when she left to have her baby Jimmy took over. I have never had an issue until yesterday. 7.22.24 I went in to have a fill done. Jimmy and Hannah are no longer there so I went ahead and had this man do my nails who i have never had. He was in station 4. While doing my nails he was watching a program on his phone. many times I had to pull my fingers away because he was grinding to the point of heating my nail up to an exteme hot. Then he would lose his grip on the grinder and hit my finger the skin. He continued to watch his show while doing my nails.Then when he was finally using a nail file to shape the nails I finally had to say dont file them down short, he says " oh you want them shorter"? now I am mad, and said no I dont want them short at all. TO late, my little finger and the one next to it are so short that it doesnt even look like I have nails. My right hand is shorter than the left by a long shot. I also did not know they are now charging 40.00 for a fill which is what he charged me. As of 7/22/24 this will be my last time there after being a 4 year customer. Its very disapointing that this was allowed. The two older ladyes who are normaly there and dont do nails a lot of the time where sitting behind him and could see what was going on and said nothing. If this is how they are now doing business I am glad this was my last time there. Be careful when going here. Make sure your getting someone who is paying attention to what they are doing for you and not what the show is on thier cell phone. read more

I wasn't going to review this place because I don't want to hurt anyone's business during these times. But I now remember why I stopped coming here. The man with tattoos kept pushing me to do acrylic nails when I only wanted a dip manicure. I did miss my nails so I agreed. He kept pushing the ombré nails so I did that. I wanted them short and he still left then pretty long. When I tell you it was the worst nails I've ever had! They were all crooked, thick and I had acrylic all over my fingers and cuticles I had to go back and have him fix them. He kept trying to blame the other lady who only did the top coat of gel because for some reason he didn't finish. He only applied the acrylic super sloppy and made the other lady finish his job! After only a few days one nail had cracked and they look super grown out as if I've had these for a month. I paid $121 for nails and a pedi! The pedi was great but don't come here for nails. About two weeks ago I visited this place for the first time to get a pedi and refill. Just yesterday I was taking my tips off & noticed a mark on my nail. I thought it was a bruise although I do not recall banging my finger on anything. Comes to find out, it's fungus in my nail. I did call the nail salon and reported it to them so they can take precautions and disinfect/clean/sterilize everything properly. Not only that but as I was waiting for a pedi (which I did first) I seen a female employee put the nail utensils back in the sterile packet that she had just finished using on another client without disinfecting it or anything like that. That is a big No! No! Especially due to the circumstances the world is going through I suggest who ever goes here make sure you see that the nail utensils are being taken out from a sealed, sterile packet. read more

Wow! I have been going to the nail Room on McDowell and Lichfield road and being disappointed every single time. I came here for the 1st time and was blown away by Hanna. I get the powder dip which is pretty expensive and it still was here but she is well worth it. Not only was she really quick but there were no dips, dent, or any other disappointments. Absolutely love her. Will definitely be coming back here to get my nails done. The mani and pedi combo for a basic was $40 dollars but once I asked for a gel polish the worker informed me that then it would make my mani $28 and my pedi $40. Still basic mani pedi. No extra callus treatments or sugar scrubs. $68 for me to get gel polish. Seemed like a bit much. I am still pissed that I even spent money here, totally NOT WORTH IT!!! My nails are so damaged thanks to one of the ladies that over used the drill tool, even burning me in the process. The gel manicure I got didn't even last long before it was chipping. Besides their quality of work, which there is NONE, the way they treat you or the way I got treated was "let's get her in and out!" I came back twice! The last 4-5 times I have gone they have completely rushed my services and it wasn't enjoyable. Even one of the times they separated my mom and I when I was treating her for Mother's Day (not on mothers day). this last time I got a pedicure and when I went to remove my polish I found I have fungus on all of my toenails. Very disappointed. I've been to this nail salon on several occasions throughout the years and I went yesterday for a full set pedicure and wax. Eyebrow wax here is always hit or miss. I explained to everyone who is providing these services that my wedding was that weekend in hopes I would be taken care of carefully. I got a gel full set and and the guy explained to me that he could not shape them in coffin as he said they were too short. Please see the photo of my nails and tell me if they were too short for this shape? I also thought it was strange that he did not wipe my nails off when he was finished painting them with the gel, I asked him if he was supposed to wipe them because I've had experiences in the past where the gel color will peel and he said no. I then proceeded over to the wax room with Dion and the wax was extremely hot, (I told her this) she burn my upper lip and yes I had a burnt upper lip for my wedding photos that weekend. I told her that the wax was too hot and she proceeded to wax my lip without letting it cool down anyway. I showed her the burn and she looked at me very confused as if nothing was there. I also showed her my toenails as I got a pedicure and you would have thought a 5 year old painted them. I am so disappointed I paid $88. I explained all of these issues to Dion and she did off to take care of them bill or re do my toes or nails or anything. Thank goodness my make up artist was able to cover the burn on my top lip on my wedding day so that the scab would not appear in the pictures. Specifically the male tech in the front who always seems to be on his phone. When we was putting on the fake plastic nail he would put the glue on top of the nail. I have gone here several times and had great experiences with Jimmy and Paul. These two gentlemen are easily worth 5 stars and I've never had a bad pedicure. They use real, fresh fruit for the pedicure which is a great experience. I love this salon and have tried several others nearby and always make my way back. I had one bad experience with Nick and I went to another salon two days later to fix them. I should have been more selective as I had watched another person have the same trouble with him that I did a few weeks earlier. I picked a polish with the iridescent powder for over top. The colors were uneven because he ran out of one and grabbed a different one. The powder didn't stick to some parts of the nails so he kept adding and adding layers leaving my nails so thick and ugly looking. Beyond that, he cured the gel and powder all over the skin around my nails and went back with the dremel which chipped them and looked awful.
