Went yesterday for the first and last time! I needed a mani, pedi and eyebrow wax. When I walked in I told them that it was my first time there, asked if they took debit/credit cards to which they say yes (this is important and you'll know why later). First they tried to upsell like crazy and when I wouldn't budge, it was obvious that they were upset. Second, the water was extremely hot so I didn't put my feet in right away and this too seem to upset the lady who was going to do my pedi but I didn't care because it was MY feet that were going to burn, not hers. Third and full disclosure before I comment on the pedi: I pretty much get pedi's every 2 weeks. There have been times I've waited longer in between but for the most part, I get them every 2wks because I get a lot of (more than the average person) ingrown toenails. I've even had surgery to help with this problem so to say I'm familiar with the pedi process would be an understatement. Ok so I'm in the chair and tell the lady that I like my nails cut short, not super short and that I don't necessarily want them just filed instead of cut. As she's doing the pedi, I notice that she skipped the part where they cut around the cuticles to get possible ingrown toe nails out (you know, the part I'm VERY familiar with due to my prob) so I say something and she says she did it which I know is a lie. I ask her to please double check, she does and low and behold, she HAD skipped that part. She cut my nails so short, it hurts even a day later. I had to stop her from cutting more. The lady who was doing my mani seemed more interested in constantly checking the timer in her pocket as she kept pointing out that I only got 10 mins of the "hand massage" because that's the package I chose (the attempt at upselling continues) so in an effort not to be rude, I smiled and said "yes I know but 10 mins is plenty of time".
The mani and pedi are finally done and when I get my card out to pay, I'm asked if I have cash (ummm NO which is why I asked when I first walked in if cards were accepted). The lady who did my mani tells me in a low voice that cash is always better especially for the tip, and asks me to double check my wallet. I tell her that I don't need to because I know I don't have cash so she tells me to remember to bring cash next time (ummm yeah well there won't be a "next time"). I pay and leave...
I will say that the lady who did the eyebrow wax was nice and did a great job so I made sure she got the biggest tip. read more
