Been coming here for over 20 years. Have always enjoyed my experience. They offer lots of services. Lots of colors to choose from and will help you choose a color or service. They even have a semi private area with 2 spa chairs. Everything is clean. They are quick and the ladies are nice and the vibe is relaxing. read more

I came in here with high hopes and anticipation. Please support your private nail techs, because I hope no one has to experience what I did. My boyfriend's sister and niece love this spot. Though I have experience doing manis, I never had the chance to get one done myself. My boyfriend and I came in on August 10th, over an hour before closing. I did not make an appointment; however, the man at the front desk was accommodating and was able to get us helped out. I got the #9 + gel polish pedi as well as a Gel X mani. The pedi outcome was okay, but my nails were uneven and the process was painful. The Gel X was horrible. There was excess paint run, and she was very obviously rushing through everything, with one nail being crooked. I also asked for an ombre french tip style nail but the nail tech only applied one coat of the same color. The main kicker was that I asked for a SINGLE nail art design on one finger, and my nail tech, Winnie, refused. The techs were already tired from a day's work and were not enthusiastic about doing their jobs. They were complaining in Viet when people with appointments came in 30 mins before closing. At the end, my boyfriend pointed out that these nails were not like the inspo, and I was denied service. The man at the front desk then invited us back the following day to get a free service to fix the nails. We came back the next day and it got so much worse. #1: He lied. He was going to charge us additionally for the nail art. #2: He was protecting Winnie's refusal of service by saying it was a miscommunication. I understand Vietnamese, and Winnie completely understood the service I was asking for and said NO. I doubt a grown woman at a nail salon doesn't understand when a client is asking for a design. #3: The man in the front also tried to play it off like I asked for a single coat of color when the reference photo shown was using two different colors. He said verbatim, "If you angle your fingers at the light it looks like the photo". Even if that was the case, the result fails to look like the photo. ?????????????? #4: The man KNEW he was in the wrong and offered last minute when we got up to left to do the free service. It was so unprofessional and so disheartening, especially as my first experience at a nail salon. I paid 125 in total (30 for pedi, 75 for mani). Please give your money to businesses with accountability and actually want to preform the service they provide, because this one isn't it. read more

I called to make an appointment and got a price. When I got there the lady started doing my nails and essentially told me a completely different price. I've never heard of a nail salon that charges extra for the shape of the nail, otherwise I wouldn't have changed it. The guy on the phone asked me all the questions except for what shape I wanted. I don't appreciate price discrepancies, it feels disingenuous and unprofessional. If I would've known, I would've just went somewhere else. The lady that did my nails was nice, the place was clean but I likely won't be back. The staff clearly lacks communication with each other at the very least. Plus my nail chipped already...it's been two days! I've been getting my nails done for over 10 years and that's never happened before read more

Honestly, I had high hopes for this nail salon. I recently moved and this place was a let down. The actual technicians were friendly, but the skill and actual look of my nails were not the best. Additionally, I have no incentive to come back. I liked that they had a rewards program, but because I paid with card ($2 extra fee added) I didn't get a stamp card, thus not counting my visit toward any kind of reward. Disappointing and when I asked the secretary about it, she said the VIP card is just for cash payments. read more

After spending $300 on 2 pedicures, 1 Gel X set. Honestly the service was pretty mediocre, I got French tip & it was cute but my hands didn't even get a touch of some lotion, just left plain dry (I'd say it was because the first color failed) Idk if I'll be coming back for Gel X BUT overall my friend loved her pedi ($125) & so did my girlfriend. I'm just really upset and disappointed that because I didn't like the cat eye the nail tech literally switched up her energy so fast. read more

Went in for a pedicure & gel X set, their prices are pretty high for the quality of service & quality of nails. I got a "hot oil" pedicure which ended up being a regular pedicure with lotion considering I did pay more for that. Their gel X starts off at 68$ & my nail ended up breaking 3 days later because it was so thin. They did fix my nail but the nail tech almost had an attitude insinuating that the nail broke because it was my fault & not because it was so thin. Overall not going back . read more

Had an appointment yesterday We come in every 3-4 weeks, awesome service, unfortunately at checkout we were informed that there is a $2.00 charge if you pay with credit card. And you can no longer add tip to your card Only "Cash" fortunately we had cash I would had felt horrible not being able to tip 4 ladies, as they were closing early and we were the last ones. In the first photo is the design that I wanted. And the other two pictures they're showing my right and my left hand as you can see the design is not consistent with both my hands the polkadots are very spaced out. It looks sloppy and the other hand of polkadots look great. Don't give me wrong. The workers here are very nice, but the work that she did was not the greatest. She had showed me the shape and it was square like slightly coffin, like barely nothing and then I turn around for like a second and I see that my nails are literally coffin. My daughter and I enjoy going to Star nails for basic mani and pedis. For the most part all the staff are very pleasant and happy to see you, location has a relaxing, elegant vibe, a million nail colors and options, and they have excellent massage chairs. I'm actually so shocked. I went in wanting the most basic basic manicure. She soaked my hand in water, cut my really short nails more short, pushed back my cuticle and that was it ( Not even a clear polish) literally just my bare nail. It was $26. I go to a place on McKinley Pino Nails!!! and they do more and even do a clear pink gel and it's $21. I regret coming here, I should of stayed at my regular spot:( read more

This is where I get my nails done most often. I rarely make a reservation and usually get different techs. Most do a fine job, and have the normally accepted limited amounts of English, but I do find more than half are actually pretty good English speakers. What surprises me is that almost every other time I come in there's some annoying customer who is loudly complaining about their own ignorant decisions and is bothersome to all of the other customers. Maybe it's a price point thing.. but these people are seriously stupid and annoying. Today the lady next to me is complaining that her 5 year old's service of gel nails is like $53. How she is shocked by the price and she can't believe it. How she is so upset she wants to hurry and get done so she never has to return. Anyone knows to check prices before acting SHOCKED. Anyone knows nail services are a luxury and any add ons can add up quickly. I wish she would stop blaming "the language barrier", and blame herself for thinking she needed to get gel nails for her kid. I have 2 daughters, they always ask to come with me and that is not something I am willing to pay for. Dollar tree manis at home suit us just fine for them. Star Nails must deal with this behavior daily because the manager dude is a pro at dealing with these irate idiots. He deescalates the situation, provides an explanation, and usually doesn't cave and give out freebies. So don't come here if you aren't prepared to pay for what you want, or if you like to bash on immigrants trying to make a living. They do good nails, deal with my nasty calluses, and I've never had a problem. read more

This place use to be good. I would not recommend going here unless you have a specific nail tech you know. The woman who did my pedicure was excellent. My hands were funky and poorly done by the other tech. I was overcharged and my nails were horrible. I'm not someone to complain but tried 2x to tell my tech my nails were not straight or the same length. She said it was fine. "You like it. You asked for short. I'll fix later." No. I've had my nails done a lot and there were just horribly cared for. No cuticle care or trimming. No hand washing before UV coats. Nails were different lengths. Not shaped like the example I gave. I had a nail fall off after 6 days. 6 days! I'm not rough with my hands and now I'm thinking it's because there is something growing under the nail and yellow/green discolored. My nails were beautifully manicured before and natural. They were so long and the tech cut my nails so short my nail beds throbbed. I watched another nail tech do the same kind of nail and they were beautiful. Ask questions. Check your receipt for up charges you didn't approve and ask for a new tech if you're not happy. read more

I arrived at 10:03am and was told it would be a 30 mon wait...no biggie so i went to tan came back with 10 mins to spare..20 more mins go by and i start to notice people who came in after me with no appt get seated(at least 6 people) i was finally seated at 11:22am she started taking off my old polish and then disappeared for 15 mins, at this point I was literally about to walk out. She came over and apologized and I expressed my frustration. Finally at 11: 37am someone sat down to do my nails and I cant even relax or enjoy it because I am so annoyed. She gave me $10 off for the inconvienence so I will try this place one more time but if I have another bad expierence I will never return read more

DON'T LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS. I found this nail salon last year and I have NEVER gone anywhere else since. Every time I get a new set, Catherine never disappoints me, in fact her work is so impeccable that I can't stop admiring my nails. She takes her time and pays attention to detail to do your nails exactly to your liking. They last long too. Before this nail salon I wouldn't get my nails done often because it's so hard to find good ones but I am so glad I found this one !! customer service is amazing too, very friendly and welcoming always!! I come here 4 days ago to get my gel-X done. The lady do my nails her name EMILY . I think you can't believe she made my gel-x in 20 minutes, the polish color was uneven, there was a lot of glue under my nails, and I paid for short gel x nails $85. I came home and my nails fell out within 3 days. If i could give 0 star i would. This is my first time and my last time come to this salon. Will never comming back!!!! read more

I hadn't gotten a pedicure in so long and my last couple have been almost violent leaving me with cut up toes lol, but she took her time and really did a great job. I got gel and she convinced me to get my calluses removed, which I definitely needed gone. Only $5 extra. So in total besides tip I paid $40 for gel and callus removal. Very reasonable to me. Star Nails is the best! Ive been going here off and on for a few years, and the new management is doing awesome. All the employees are wonderful at their jobs and they really make you feel comfortable. The receptionists are very friendly and make sure everything goes well on your visit. Honestly, I've been coming here for a while and usually I don't have any problems but their fees to pay with card is $2 which is ridiculously high and the only other option is to pay cash which most people don't usually have so I feel like it's just getting more expensive and so are the fees. I was in desperate need of special foot attention especially during this pandemic where salons have been closed. Linda did such a great job. I went and got my nails done somewhere in Orange County and they didn't do well and the lady that did my nails said my nail tips weren't glued down correctly so she took all the nails off and did a new set.
