It had been a challenge to find bike shops that's able to work on e-bikes. Many I've called didn't have the know how or capability to work on e-bikes; not even a tire change. Sun and Air fortunately has the staff that can service e-bikes. I'm not sure to what degree but they can help you change brake pads on it and definitely switch tires for you. I sent these guys a text (as per their request) to ask if they are able to fix electric scooters. The response said "It really depends on what needs fixing, the best I can say is to come by and we can take a look, but I can't guarantee" So i brought my scooter to their shop and waited in line behind 2 other guys with bikes who were waiting for service (outside in the hot June sun). The guy serving them was moving at a snails pace (which is bothersome but I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I had already come this far). It took him about 45 minutes total to check-in 2 bikes and finally make his way back out to see me in the front of the line. He says "what's up" and I respond "my scooter turns on but doesn't go, can you take a look at it?" The guy (with platted long dark pig tails) responds "we don't fix those". I told him that I had received a text saying they would take a look at it if I brought it in and he simply said "nope. We don't do that". Why he didn't tell me this 45 minutes earlier, when he very clearly saw me in line and acknowledged my existence, is completely beyond me. I was standing there in the hot sun like an asshole for almost an hour just to have this grumpy (cultural-appropriating) hipster wet-blanket say "nope". What kind of fucked up reality does this person live in? There Is really no excuse for this and I will be sure to let every person I know with a bicycle know that this overpriced stolen-named bike shop is absolutely not worth it. Thankfully there are plenty of other more civilised bike shops with decent customer service in Brooklyn... It should have been obvious by the name (stolen from a legendary musical artist) that this place lacks the kind of originality that a reasonably run, customer-first type of business would have. read more

Sun and Air is a great bike & coffee shop! Went in right before closing last night to get some new brake pads installed and they did it in 20 mins flat. I also ordered a new tire that will be coming in just a couple days. Best of all, the prices were extremely reasonable. Owners are really nice folk and the vibe in the store is awesome. It's also a good stopover for folks looking for a quick coffee and snack refuel - bring your bike right in without worrying about locking it up outside! So I raced over there and they had the perfect bike for me. I'm in the minority apparently with my 1star review, however I feel this is necessary. I brought my bike here 3 times within the past 4 months for the same problem (the pedals/gears violently glitch whenever riding uphill). After each visit to these guys, the problem always came back within a couple weeks. And each time they'd have a different diagnosis (first it was a "cable needed to be tightened," then the "chain needed to be replaced," yada yada yada). I dropped over $200 on these 3 visits... and yet the bike still glitches when riding uphill. Money wasted. For $200 I could've bought a whole bike. They never offered me a refund for the first two visits where they failed to fix my bike. read more

This is an awesome addition to the neighborhood. Conveniently located on Driggs just off the Williamsburg Bridge, this is a group of super friendly, super competent folks. After some less than positive experiences around town, it is great to know there is a new shop doing everything right. They gave me a ton of guidance around the repairs I needed and even gave me a pros/cons of moving forward before I decided. Prices are reasonable and understandable. Repairs are fast and if you need any gear they have a ton of options for all price ranges -- I balled out with my saddle bags and I am thrilllleddd with them.
