It had been a challenge to find bike shops that's able to work on e-bikes. Many I've called didn't have the know how or capability to work on e-bikes; not even a tire change. Sun and Air fortunately has the staff that can service e-bikes. I'm not sure to what degree but they can help you change brake pads on it and definitely switch tires for you. Staff is super cool and chill. Prices were higher than places in Queens but they do a clean job. read more

Nicest staff, always helpful and informative, never try to upsell when unnecessary. I go to these guys even if I can buy something for cheaper elsewhere. read more

Highly recommend this bike shop! I did not buy my bike from here but the owner was nice to claim a warranty with Trek at no charge The staff was friendly and gave me some good tips to keep my bike tuned! read more

My pedal snapped right off my bike while I was 5 miles into a ride, but thankfully I was only a 15 minute walk from this shop! They got me a new set of pedals and installed them all in just a few minutes! I live in Astoria, but if I ever need good fast work done I'll be coming to this shop again. read more

Great service. The guys in this shop are knowledgeable and friendly. They hooked me up with new ride for my commute to work. This is gonna be my local bike shop for sure. read more

I sent these guys a text (as per their request) to ask if they are able to fix electric scooters. The response said "It really depends on what needs fixing, the best I can say is to come by and we can take a look, but I can't guarantee" So i brought my scooter to their shop and waited in line behind 2 other guys with bikes who were waiting for service (outside in the hot June sun). The guy serving them was moving at a snails pace (which is bothersome but I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I had already come this far). It took him about 45 minutes total to check-in 2 bikes and finally make his way back out to see me in the front of the line. He says "what's up" and I respond "my scooter turns on but doesn't go, can you take a look at it?" The guy (with platted long dark pig tails) responds "we don't fix those". I told him that I had received a text saying they would take a look at it if I brought it in and he simply said "nope. We don't do that". Why he didn't tell me this 45 minutes earlier, when he very clearly saw me in line and acknowledged my existence, is completely beyond me. I was standing there in the hot sun like an asshole for almost an hour just to have this grumpy (cultural-appropriating) hipster wet-blanket say "nope". What kind of fucked up reality does this person live in? There Is really no excuse for this and I will be sure to let every person I know with a bicycle know that this overpriced stolen-named bike shop is absolutely not worth it. Thankfully there are plenty of other more civilised bike shops with decent customer service in Brooklyn... It should have been obvious by the name (stolen from a legendary musical artist) that this place lacks the kind of originality that a reasonably run, customer-first type of business would have. read more

SUN AND AIR - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Great staff, great bikes. High level attention to detail. Built up two bikes for me and I love them!

Exceptional local bike shop! I've been coming here routinely for the past few years for everything from complete bike builds to simple tune ups. All the mechanics are wicked brilliant. Highly recommend for your bicycle needs. read more

Very cool bike shop. Had some minor issues with my ebike. The staff here are very helpful, chill and friendly. I also appreciate that they follow social distancing guidelines for safety. They do get busy on weekends so it's good to call ahead and make an appointment. read more

Great bike shop. I've been here twice and both times the staff have been friendly and helpful. Their prices aren't cheap but I feel I'm getting good value for my money. I'm NOT a super cool tattooed biker, just a 50-something dude with a bike. In some places, that would have gotten me some attitude. Not here. Really great vibe coming from everyone I've dealt with. This is now my goto bike shop for my new neighborhood. read more

I've never had work done here (haha, sounds like a plastic surgery clinic), but I have been the consistent beneficiary of their advice and air pump. The workers may get backed up with orders, esp with social distancing and covid, but when they are available, they have been friendly, reliably knowledgeable, and kind hearted. Great customer service is important. Keep up the good work please! Happy to know ya. read more

Super nice people here. I rode over right after I wiped out in Manhattan (for absolutely no reason, I'm clumsy) to get my bike checked out and they first looked at me and offered to let me clean myself up first ha! I had bloody pouring out of my knee. I'm good! Just a bleeder. Anyway, always get good service from them. Haven't tried their coffee yet but one day! read more

My repairs are generally done in half the time i'm told it will take, and everyone that works here is friendly and hot as hell

Sun and Air is a fresh breath! I have had a bike for a few years that I purchased elsewhere in a hurry and I never enjoyed riding it. I went into Sun and Air thinking about purchasing a new one. Instead the professional, knowledgeable and friendly crew adeptly guided me to some changes that they could make to my bike for a fraction of the cost. An hour later, I can enjoy riding my bike! THANK YOU to everyone at Sun and Air - Chey, Mickey and the other folks whose names I didn't catch tho they were all great! I will be a customer for life and recommend them highly! read more

This an awesome bike shop. I needed a flat fix because we're in the middle of a pandemic and the subways.... no thanks. I called up and they were totally kind about my worries about social contact right now so we worked out an online payment through an app, and I brought it in and everyone stayed their distance. Thanks guys! I feel a lot better having this bike ready to ride. read more

Sun and Air is a great bike & coffee shop! Went in right before closing last night to get some new brake pads installed and they did it in 20 mins flat. I also ordered a new tire that will be coming in just a couple days. Best of all, the prices were extremely reasonable. Owners are really nice folk and the vibe in the store is awesome. It's also a good stopover for folks looking for a quick coffee and snack refuel - bring your bike right in without worrying about locking it up outside! Anna Maria and her husband won me over in a heartbeat; I think I found my new regular bike shop. Next time you come off the WillyB Bridge, stop on in and check it out! read more

The Sun and Air cafe is an incredible spot for Brooklyn commuters who use the Williamsburg bridge. The coffee is excellent. The barista there, Fife gave me a cappuccino with the best steamed milk I have ever had, and I've worked in fine dining restaurants for the last 12 years. read more

I want to give a special shoutout to Miki, who helped me find my new bike! He let me know that some bikes in my size and price range were coming in at their sister store, King Kog. So I raced over there and they had the perfect bike for me. So many stores aren't communicating right now and Miki took great care of me and put me in the hands of super knowledgable, kind, patient, thorough people and now I have my bike! I rode it around today and it was awesome. Thanks Miki!!! I would recommend this shop to anyone -- 10/10 great communication and care. read more

I'm in the minority apparently with my 1star review, however I feel this is necessary. I brought my bike here 3 times within the past 4 months for the same problem (the pedals/gears violently glitch whenever riding uphill). After each visit to these guys, the problem always came back within a couple weeks. And each time they'd have a different diagnosis (first it was a "cable needed to be tightened," then the "chain needed to be replaced," yada yada yada). I dropped over $200 on these 3 visits... and yet the bike still glitches when riding uphill. Money wasted. For $200 I could've bought a whole bike. They never offered me a refund for the first two visits where they failed to fix my bike. read more

Always a pleasant atmosphere coming here. Good coffee and wise mechanics, also a nice variety of bike accessories and full builds as well. Came by today unfortunately because my bike fell apart on the bridge but luckily for me sun and air is very close. I came in took a seat enjoyed a coffee and a madeleine while my bike got repaired. read more

I waited 20 mins outside just now and no one really acknowledged me. I just had a question about getting a bike assembled. They actually let some one skip me. I went back home and am in a cab heading towards B's Bike shop about 1 mile up. I'll spend the $33 on the XL lyft gladly to hull this bike and get it assembled by people who deserve my money. read more

Long lines but move super fast (5 persons in front of me and took me 10-15 min from when I got there until I left), they are super transparent with pricing and although i have nothing to compare it to, it seemed extremely reasonable. had issues w/ my bike gears, fixed within a day. read more

Bought a bike from the owner of the store a few weeks back. Exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful, and I got a great bike. Also when you buy a new bike they take a photo of you outside to put on their Instagram--kinda cool. Good coffee too. read more

I have been here a couple of times to pick up small parts a lock or a cold brew and the staff has always been helpful and kind. Today I took my new bike (that I know little about) to the shop to get my brake serviced and the service was no different and job was completed competent and promptly even with an unforeseen curveball thrown at the tech. I've been to a bunch of other bike stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn and Air and Sun will definitely be my shop of choice from now on. read more

Great new bike shop . Awesome friendly and knowledgeable service with a real focus on the commuter culture . The coffee counter is also a real winner serving well prepared stumptown and delicious pastries . Sun and air is definitely a welcome edition to the hood . read more

This shop is such a relief. Cool competent people who are happy to talk and helpful. (Unlike some other bicycle shops in Williamsburg. There is another bicycle shop a block away, a Williamsburg mainstay. There are a couple more a mile up the street. These are vile, hateful places, whose employees attitude toward people walking in the door is of annoyance and exasperation.) Sun and Air is such a relief. read more

This is an awesome addition to the neighborhood. Conveniently located on Driggs just off the Williamsburg Bridge, this is a group of super friendly, super competent folks. After some less than positive experiences around town, it is great to know there is a new shop doing everything right. They gave me a ton of guidance around the repairs I needed and even gave me a pros/cons of moving forward before I decided. Prices are reasonable and understandable. I'll definitely be back for gear, repairs, or just some of the tasty coffee they are pouring up front. Keep it going guys! read more

Great shop. Great location. Great idea, coffee and bikes!! There's this one mechanic there by the name of Richard! Where do I start!?! Since I met him over at Deluxe Cycles he's been such a huge help. He's always friendly and always going above and beyond with fixing my bike. I don't know what kinda magic he has going on but whatever it is it's been making me going so much faster!! Since he started working on my bikes I've been winning races. He's always explain what he's fixing and what I should do different to help me get stronger. If you are ever in the area stop in and say hi to Richard "the magic man" buy him a coffee and let him fix your bike! Thank you sun and air read more

Such an amazing bike shop. Everyone is super knowledgeable. I know nothing about bikes and have a cheap bike and I feel so comfortable coming in here. Repairs are fast and if you need any gear they have a ton of options for all price ranges -- I balled out with my saddle bags and I am thrilllleddd with them. When my bike had an issue last time a cheap shop shamed me for my bike and told me it would be three days to fix -- sun and air did it in 15 mins. read more

The only place I trust to take care of my super old bike. I have taken it there a few times and they have always done the job for a fair price, and they always take the time to thoroughly explain what was wrong. I'm a little embarrassed because the issue today was simply that my tires didn't have enough air in them (lol) the guy couldn't have been nicer about it even though I am a fool haha. Will keep on coming back when my bike is in need of repair! read more

I'm going to cut to the chase. From Cheylene to Mickey to Miguel, exceptional service! I took my Specialized white road bike there and, let me tell you, you are going to get great service. Will definitely recommend Sun and Air 100%! read more

Best bike shop in Williamsburg. They work fast and the attention to detail is fantastic. Seasonal tune up specials, the best selection of parts and accessories, great services (even a coffee shop onsite). It's a reason to live in the neighborhood. Thanks Shawn and team! read more

Living in Williamsburg for 6 years, I've been to all of the bike stores in the area. Every one of them has rude / apathetic staff, are over priced or both. Sun & Air are a total pleasure to deal with - super polite, fast service (I've had my bike adjusted and tuned up here a few times) and exceptionally fairly priced. If they franchised Sun & Air it would be the only bike store in NYC. read more

Great spot and great people! Coffee is excellent, they've got plenty of snacks, making it a great place to spot mid- or post-ride.

Bikes you'd actually use in New York, a ton of VERY classy and functional accessories, and wonderful coffee! They took care of me getting a fully race-ready Trek at the beginning of cyclocross racing season and I've heard nothing but good things from my non-racing friends when they've popped in. Between these fantastic things and a staff that refuses the typical elitist bike shop vibe, Sun and Air is one of the best shops in New York. read more

Beautiful place to enjoy a coffee and talk bikes with knowledgeable people who care about cycling in NYC! They are literally bathed in sunlight, steps from the Williamsburg bridge and have a full coffee bar, safe place to put your bike and a full shop setup to do repairs or pick up equipment! This is the sister shop to King Kog in Greenpoint and I'm proud to be a rider for their cyclocross team. Sun and Air also sponsors women's bike racing and is a Trek bike shop and the owner Anna Maria is a huge supporter of getting more women cycling and growing the community, so whether you're a new rider or not, stop by and say hi! read more
