I had a large cedar deodar die in my back yard and it was right next to my house. It was about 48years old, 78" in diameter, and 80ft. tall. A big tree to cut down without damaging my house. Summit tree service was one of 5 bids I received and I chose to go with them. They were fully licensed, bonded and gave me the best deal. They cut down my tree, ground the stump and hauled the wood away. All in very short time. The crew was friendly and very hard working. I live in Palo Alto and I needed to have 2 palm trees trimmed and not only did Felipe give me an AWESOME price to trim them, his crew was especially careful not to damage my garden. With great help from Felipe and his 3-man crew, today we got all fruit trees pruned - nectarine, lemon, pear, peach, orange; hedge bushes, Japanese maple and other plants trimmed; and an outgrowing vicious palm tree removed! We love gardening but overfilled the yards for years. Now gardening has become challenging and in fact chaotics sometimes. Thankfully, after reading the Yelp reviews, we got good tips, received several onsite estimates and selected Felipe and his crew! Felipe responded promptly to my call and showed up the next day, Saturday 9 AM (before taking his son to a soccer game), gave me a short but straight to the point estimate on Sunday. When I asked for a QUICK service date (imaging all fruits already started blooming), Felipe worked my request in with their Monday schedule, Today! The three man crew teamed up perfectly. They took turns - one trimmed, one topped, then one would assist and clean! They were calm, paying attention to details, enjoying the art work they were doing. The most appreciated - they were cautious not to step on, damage the garden plants, even moved the pots around for assurance. They cleaned up well at the end! Felipe was professional and thorough. He demonstrated his trust worthy work attitude with a practical pleasant outcome. And he charged us a very fair competitive rate. I asked Felipe to help maintain our fruit and citrus trees annually. We hired Summit Tree Service to remove six large palm trees from our home. One of them was over 20 feet tall and was located less then five feet from the side of our house. Mr. Felipe Mecina of Summit Tree Service did outstanding work. In less then one day, they chopped down all the trees, ground the stumps, cut up each tree in small enough sections for the city recycling truck to pick up, and placed it all on the curb for pick up tomorrow. Mr. Mecina returned all my telephone calls in a timely manner, was on time, and personally oversaw his crew. He answered all my many questions and provided proof of insurance and workman's comp for his workers. His bid was very reasonable and considerably lower then some others I received for the same job. I am looking forward to hiring him again for more tree removal and tree trimming jobs on our house. read more

I sent an email through his website, he promptly called me the following AM to set up a time to meet. We met later that same day, agreed on a reasonable price, and he promised to come out the next day with his crew to raise and trim the canopy of our tree and remove the suckers from the interior. I've contacted Summit Tree Service after some other contractor refused to do the job. I've needed to trim few trees that were blocking the view. I've also needed to coordinate everything with the neighbor as some of the tree's were growing on her side. Felipe was very patient when I was calling him several times with appointment time change. He arrived on weekend to do the estimate which was very convenient for me. They did all the job in 5 hours and they cleaned both yards after themselves. I've also asked them to remove a dead tree which they did in parallel with all the trimming. I was very impressed with their attention to details. They not only removed the roots and leveled the soil but also put all the sprinkles back to the original place. The trees look great right now. I have a Redwood Tree in my back yard that has never been trimmed since I bought the house in 1997. However, the reason I called Summit was for another tree that was pulling on my neighbors telephone wire. Turns out that tree had a major crack that I never noticed and needed serious help! These guys are awesome. I had a dead oak that I really wasn't in a hurry to spend money on. But I started making calls on a Thursday morning. Other places I called generally went to voicemail, some of them weren't even personalized so I had no idea if I even had the right number. Then I got to Summit. Felipe answered right away from his cell phone. Said he was on the way to another job, could he swing by after? Sure. He was there inside an hour. A very reasonable quote and scheduled it for the following Monday. Wow that was quick! Some of the other places I called either didn't call back or were calling back 72 hours later; what a different experience: Summit vs the other guys in town. The following Monday Felipe and his crew rolled up to the minute promised at 830. Got right to work, two guys professionally set up with ropes, hard hats, chainsaws, a chipper truck, etc, and had the whole thing dismantled in about 90 mins, cleaned and in the truck out of there 90 mins later.
