I was looking for tree pruning service and got recommended Summit Tree Service by my realtor. Business owner Felipe is responsive to my text message and showed up the next day, helped me decide on some work details (like cutting some branches may reduce my privacy), and gave me a competitive quote. I validated their license on the state website. On the next Monday, his team showed up and did the job efficiently, cleanly, and professionally. I am satisfied with the result, and would recommend them to friends and families. read more

Felipe, José and crew just completed another great annual trimming of our 7 trees and wall of climbing roses. We have hired them for several years on various projects and have been completely satisfied each time with their work. They are polite, professional and fair priced. Highly recommend! read more

Outstanding service. They pruned our mature pecan, and removed a troublesome oak tree, as well as a hedge. Did a great job cleaning, were on time, etc. Highly recommend. read more

Felipe and his crew were excellent. Not only were they a very competitive price the service was amazing. We first saw their work with a neighbor a few houses down. Spotlighted on their website. They were faster than I could imagine and left our home very very clean afterwards. The pieces they cut were doe just right so San Jose would take all of it. It took up 3 home street side's and SJ took it all. I highly recommend Felipe. He is bonded and very dependable and honest. Thank you! read more

For nine years Summit Tree Service has been trimming our condo association trees. Felipe, the owner, has an artistic eye and stays with his crew throughout the job. We have also had Summit remove some very large trees on our property with just his small crew (including a large eucalyptus that other tree services said would require a crane). They're responsive and fairly priced and have always done a great job for us. read more

Thank you Felipe and team!! As usual great job done by all. Our complex has been working with Summitt Tree Service for several years. It is a comfort to know we can count on you every time. Summitt Tree is efficient, timely, safe, organized friendly and skilled. Felipe will walk around with you and find out exactly what you want and offers suggestions and answers all of my questions. He is relaxed and knows his craft well. Very comforting especially when you are cutting down a massive tree. When the team leaves the area it is spotless. I will ONLY work with Summitt. :) Deb Willow Glen read more

Felipe and his crew deserve a 10 for taking down two Cypress trees in our back yard. It was a big job but their experience made it look easy. They orchestrated each cut and ensured where the debris landed. They also did a wonderful job with clean up. His price was competitive but preferred experience and safety over a cheap price. I hope this helps with helping you decide. read more

Summit Tree Service - Good bye rodent nest - Tree Services Near Me

To be fair, the guy showed up at my house as we agreed the first time, rang the bell (which was broken) and left his Business card, I wish he would've called before driving over, or when he arrived at my place. Failed to show-up for the second appointment without any messages. Didn't respond to my phone/text after that. PS: Didn't sound very friendly over the phone... read more

We had a huge branch fall on our car during a snowstorm. The tree was also starting to lean and we knew we had to get it taken out. They got out here that day to give us a quote and came the next morning to take the tree down. Very polite and professional, would definitely use them again. read more

Hired summit tree service to trim three trees on my property. Felipe came out on a Monday and got them scheduled for the next day. The price was fair, work was meticulous and the end result was amazing. I really appreciated how clean my front and back yard look at the end of the job. It just doesn't get better than this. The crew was punctual and they took extra precaution to cover my koi pond and protect my fish. They worked carefully and no fish was harmed in the process. My trees have a wonderful shape and are open so there's plenty of sunlight coming through. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

I decided to go with Summit Tree Service based on Yelp's good reviews. I was on a tight budget and Felipe was able to work around my budget to trim down the big Maple tree in my front yard. I was impressed with Felipe's team that work very efficiently to complete two day job into one long day. At the end of day, they also clean up my front yard. I have already refer my neighbors and friends who need tree removal and trimming services. The job was completed exactly what I have told Felipe. I will not hesitate to call Summit Tree in the future for tree trimming. read more

Felipe and his crew are amazing. I manage Los Gatos Storage Services and we have a row of twelve foot tall bushes that run along the side of the property that was in desperate need of trimming. Because the street that we are located is on a hill, the property next door is located about eight feet from the base of the bushes which made trimming on that side a challenge. However, Felipe and his crew worked their magic, were able to trim the eighty or so feet of bushes, trimmed the elm tree in the from yard, and even laid down new tarp under the bark in the front yard. All of that in two days. I highly recommend Summit Tree Service, Felipe and his crew will not disappoint. Just know that when you call Felipe, he does not like to give estimates without seeing the job first, so don't try to ask, just make an appointment and he'll be there! read more

Felipe and his team did an awesome job cutting down two of our palm trees! They were very efficient from beginning to end. They cleaned up everything very nicely when they finished. Lastly, their price is reasonable so I highly recommend Summit Tree Service. read more

Save yourself some time and call Filipe from Summit Tree Service! We needed to remove a 60ft palm tree in our back yard that continually dropped crap into both ours and our neighbors pools. I knew this wasn't a "typical job as the palm tree was along our neighbors fence and 3ft from our house and right above our pool pump. We were looking for a reasonable quote from a company thats licensed and insured. We received several quotes from other companies ranging from very expensive and wanting us to sign a disclaimer saying they wont be responsible for damage to our property??? to companies that were suspiciously cheap and come to find out, they faked their license # and of course weren't insured. One company gave me a quote without coming out to look. Even after I told him about the our unique situation, he gave me the quote over the phone, then told me, any company cheaper than his quote wasn't insured or licensed. Ha. Felipe from Summit Tree Service was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. He came out right away, looked at the situation, explained the process, and gave us a very reasonable quote and showed proof of current liability insurance and workers comp. Once making our decision, Filipe gave me a date, he and crew showed up on time, work was completed in several hours, clean up was good. Very very smooth process. Their prices are fair and they do good work. Save yourself some time and call Filipe from Summit Tree Service! read more

I needed 4 trees trimmed, including 2 bottle brush and an orange tree. Couldn't have asked for more courteous, efficient and friendly service. Felipe and crew did a wonderful job cutting, removal and cleanup at a very fair price. Thank you Felipe, Jose and Yelp for providing a great service! read more

I called to potentially get services for tree removal. I have Five large 35ft Arborvitaes in my back yard, which I believe should be a decent size job? The gentleman I spoke with was in-polite and very unprofessional in his manner towards me during our conversation. What got me was when he abruptly hung up on me... I thought to myself maybe it was just a mistake? So I gave a ring back twice, got no pickup sent to voicemail. I just find that it's ironic that my first call was picked up on first ring... However, I am frankly thankful the situation happened up front versus hiring someone that would only act demeaning later. If you do use their services I hope your experience is better than my own. read more

This is my first Yelp and it is absolutely a great one. About a week ago I was flying my drone around when I hit a tree about 80 ft in the air. Needless to say it got stuck up there. I called every company out there on Labor Day weekend to see if anyone had a bucket and to get a fair price on trying to get my drone down. Every company wanted to completely ripped me off. Felipe not only answered the phone but he promised me he would be here the very next day at 8. Right on time and right on the price. His climber climbed all the way up to where my drone was stuck found it and also found the battery that was dislodged from my drone. Felipe you are a lifesaver! If you're looking for tree service or just someone to get a drone out of a tree Felipe is your guy. read more

Solid 5 stars. Can't find any cons. No need to look any further. Felipe and his team removed a large dead tree on our backyard. Definitely exceeding all possible expectations, yet was the best bid out of three. Detail-oriented. The bid was detailed, the work was beyond reproach. Does not need any supervision - you can rely on the quality of work. Scrupulous about preparing the work-site, so that nothing would be damaged. The clean-up afterwards was just as thorough. I am now recommending him to all of my friends. read more

Felipe and team did an excellent job with short notice and just before the storms hit. We had multiple trees that had to be trimmed and one tree removed. This is the 2nd time we've used Felipe and we highly recommend him for your tree maintenance. read more

I found it impossible to have the owner show up for scheduled appointments. Here's my experience. I called to schedule an appointment with him to inspect the trees I wanted pruned. The appointment was set for the following day at 11 a.m. The owner wanted it rescheduled for later in the day, so I suggested 4 p.m. As 4 p.m. approached, he notified me that he couldn't be there at 4, so I rescheduled to 6 p.m. He didn't show up at 6, or later for that matter. I texted him later that evening to see if he wanted the appointment rescheduled. He texted me the following morning at 8 a.m. and informed me he wanted meet me at 9. I wasn't home at the time and couldn't be there in an hour, so I offered 4 p.m. -- or later if 4:00 wouldn't work for him. 4:00 came and went. He didn't show up again, so I texted him at 5 p.m. to see when he'd be coming over. He didn't respond to my text and never showed up. Think about this -- If someone doesn't honor a simple commitment to provide an estimate, how confident would you be that he'd show up to perform any work? First time, shame on him for not showing up. Second time, shame on me for believing that he would, given a second opportunity. A third time? Forget it. read more

We hired Summit Tree Service to trim all of the trees in our backyard (and we have quite a few!), and Felipe and his crew did an excellent job. Very important: He was quick to provide us a written quote as well as certificate of insurance, which shows how very professional he is. Some of the trees we have are very large and/or tall; however Summit Tree Service was well equipped for the task at hand. Service provided was timely, clean and efficient. read more

Felipe came to our house gave fair estimate. Got the tree removal permit as we were told. Called him back 10 days after the initial meeting in our house and expected to schedule a day for his service. Did not return call. Called again. Told us to text him so he can call us back next day. He did not. We called, left VM, text messages for probably about 5 times w/in 3 days. Never call back. If this is the way you run business then good luck. Wasted our times. Just a phone call to turn down our business is not a big deal.. can't even do it. How trust worthy? read more

I read all the glowing reviews and called to get an estimate on how much it cost to remove a tree from my front yard. I was asked to text my address and info last Friday. The appointment was set for the following week. I waited and waited in disappointment because he never called or showed up. I finally decided to man up and do it myself. I definitely won't be calling for business here again. Absolutely poor customer service. read more

Made a phone call.... Talked to Felipe and he was at our house the same day and gave us an estimate. Started the work the next day and finished in 1 day with cleanup. Various size trees/very large hedges and a dead 30 ft Palm. I would definitely recommend Felipe and his guys for work. All of them did great work, payed close attention to the "PROPER" way to trim!!! Thanks read more

Unfortunately I cannot give a review of this company. I can rate their response though. That would be NO STARS! I made an appointment with Felipe, the owner. The appt. was for Saturday morning at 0900. Felipe sent me a text at 7:50 pm Friday night saying something came up and he couldn't make it. We rescheduled for Tuesday April 1 at 5pm. My wife and I both rearranged our schedules to be home in time. 5:00 came and went. We gave him some time since it was raining pretty hard. By 5:30 I was done. There was no text or phone call from Felipe as to our appt. I sent him a text at 5:30 telling him I was no longer interested. I got no response or apology. Not a professional way to conduct business. Hopefully he treats customers he does meet better than this. read more

Contacted Felipe to come do a full spring clean up. Needed to clean up several trees and remove a few others. He answered the call, came over the same day, and showed up two days later to do the work. He and his guys finished all the work in about 5 hours, including trimming, removal, stump grinding and clean up. We are so happy with how much bigger our yard feels with the trees properly shaped. Their service is great and his rates are fantastic. Would recommend him to anyone who needs big or small tree work done. read more

Felipe and his crew showed up on time and did an AMAZING job clearing out he back half of our property, removed stumps and trees. They even took some extra tree debris we had. Efficient, effective and it looks awesome! His pricing is fair and his response time is excellent! THANK YOU FELIPE! Looking forward to working with you on our next two phases! read more

We hired Felipe Mecina to remove the enormous 50 year old pine tree from our front yard that had become unstable over the years and was in danger of falling over. His bid was competitive and he scheduled the work immediately. Felipe and his crew showed up on time and made the tree removal seem effortless, without any damage to the nearby wrought iron fence or deck. Quite a feat! The crew spent the next few days grinding and removing the massive stump and root system, graded the entire front yard, reworked the irrigation system, laid new sod and added plants. Felipe even offered to trim one of the maple trees that was looking a little ungainly! The crew cleaned up every evening before leaving the job, which impressed all the neighbors. We love the way our landscaping turned out, it's absolutely beautiful. Our house hasn't had this much curb appeal...ever!! Neighbors stop by to tell us how much they love the new look -- and no, we're not selling the house! Felipe and his crew did a great job, and we couldn't be happier! read more

Had a FANTASTIC experience with Felipe and co. Reasonable prices, clean work, friendly & efficient staff -- most importantly -- NO BS. Pricing -- Felipe provided me a VERY COMPETITIVE, fixed quote the same day that he came out to look at the trees for removal / trimming and was very flexible in scheduling. A few days before we were scheduled to start I decided to have the stumps ground and Felipe added this service without disruption at a VERY reasonable cost. After Felipe's team removed a couple of the trees we realized that another tree was all but dead and I asked him to remove that one too. Even though he could have stuck it to me for that last tree, he gave me a great price for removing the (by far the largest) tree and grinding the stump. He also rearranged his schedule to remove the final tree the very next day so I could get started with the rest of my landscaping project. Cleanliness -- Felipe's guys worked EXTREMELY clean. The trees that they removed/trimmed hung over the fences bordering two of my neighbors' homes. Both commented that their yards were cleaner after the trees were taken out than they were before. The guys did the same for my yard. Staff -- Felipe's guys were all very friendly. They worked hard non-stop all day under the very watchful eyes of my toddler, who was very impressed with the stump grinding machine. I think the reason why Felipe is able to give such competitive prices is because his staff functions like a well-oiled machine, working in concert to accomplish tasks (without shortcuts) in half the time of others. read more

Felipe and his team trimmed our huge and very neglected ash tree. They did a very competent and I would say artistic job. The tree and the small back yard look bright and spacious as the result. They seeked my input about the tree shape and did not mind a few small trimming jobs that were not a part of the initial agreement. Felipe is a soft-mannered and very intelligent man--a pleasure to deal with. In contrast with many others in the world of small contractors he is very punctual and responsible. He promised to come for the initial evaluation of the job on Saturday at 9:30 am, and here he was calling from my drive way at 9:30. read more

These guys are great. I mean really great. I needed three large Pine trees removed, including stump grinding. Felipe came out, gave us a fair quote (compared to two other quotes), started the work three days later, and finished everything in a day. Did a really nice job and cleaned everything up. Felipe was on-site all the time and made sure everything ran smoothly. Quality work with great service. We're using Filipe again! read more

I responded to his Craigslist ad. He came next day and gave an estimate for removal of a 30ft high dead tree. Price was reasonable. Came following day with 2 man crew and did a very professional job. Cut tree stump very low (I did not want stump grinding), cut up and split the tree for firewood and cleaned up well. Could not ask for more. read more

Once again we hired Felipe Mecina and his crew at Summit Tree Service to remove another very large tree in San Mateo. They expertly and quickly removed the branches and brought the branches to the ground without disturbing or damaging anything on the ground, neither in my yard nor in my neighbor's yard. The crew efficiently chipped up all of the branches. They hauled away two big truckloads of chips and wood. The crew then worked with a stump-chipping machine for two hours to grind out the stump from the tree that was removed. They worked hard for 10 hours that day to cut down the tree, remove all of the chips and wood, and grind out the stump. All at a very reasonable price. Felipe is a very reliable, efficient, experienced contractor. His work is excellent and reasonably priced. read more

Summit Tree Service of San Jose (not Los Gatos!) is wonderful. For our family, cost is a consideration, and I have always found Summit Tree Service to be fairly and competitively priced. They are also licensed. (There are so many tree companies out there that have outrageous pricing, and do not listen to the customer.) Felipe Mecina listens to your needs/concerns and then applies his knowledge in an artistic and natural/healthy way for the tree. (I cannot stand companies that just chop the trees!) On our property we have needed the trees to be thinned and our huge ivy hedge trimmed down. Felipe's service, this time, was to trim a tree growing into the power lines. Felipe and crew trimmed it all around, so the tree looks balanced, not lopsided. (Also, Felipe and his crew were kind enough - very happy to do so - to place a tree swing in the backyard for our daughter.) Also, I called Felipe for a recommendation about backyard maintenance that I did not have time to do myself. Felipe said, he and his crew will do yard maintenance too. Felipe and his crew did a wonderful job, and thank goodness, our yard was ready for the backyard family gathering we were having. I highly recommend Felipe Mecina and his crew. Felipe himself, and the whole crew, are very professional, considerate and punctual. read more

Called Felipe to top and trim multiple trees after my recent solar installation on my roof. Felipe was very responsive and met me that same afternoon when I got home after work. This job was a little tricky since the trees actually reside in my neighbors yard but hang into my yard. Felipe had to not only satisfy my needs for the solar panels but also trim the trees so my neighbor would be happy. Needless to say, Felipe did his magic and was competitive in pricing.
