I worked with Jaime who was in charge and lead the way. His quote was very fair and competitive. He was a pleasure to work with, was always on time and was very responsive. Him and his team were able to get the job done on one of their off days. I don't much experience with tree trimming but it looks like they did a good job. They trimmed and cleaned 9 redwoods, took down 2 trees that were too close to the yard and one dying cherry tree in the back yard. They did a great job with everything however there was a tiny bit of trash left behind and the stump grinder (who came after I got approval about the gas lines) cut through one of my sprinkler tubing's and just hid everything. I actually installed a new sprinkler controller later that afternoon, so as I was testing the different zones I noticed one of my tree drippers no longer dripping. I was able to find where it got cut which was right in the area where one of the stumps was dug up. Evidently in their service agreement paperwork they say they aren't responsible for any damage done which is understandable but if there is damage done I would expect to be informed about the problem instead of finding out for myself randomly. It's an easy fix and Jaime apologized and said if I'm not able to fix it he'll help out in anyway he can which was kind of him. I wish the person who damaged the tubing would have just told us in the first place. I would have Jaime do work for me again in the future. read more

Skyview Tree crew of Santa Clara County trespassed through back neighbor yard and shared fence onto family yard with healthy old growth ordinance sized Redwood tree on Thursday November 20th, 2025 without an appointment or notification. They had no county-required permit, and no 811 service was pre-marked around the yard before they arrived. The healthy, majestic, sacred and irreplaceable Redwood tree only needed simple pruning/trimming and had been inspected not long before this travesty caused by Skyview crew who removed hundreds of branches from the Redwood. They ignored my demands for them to stop, continued removing all branches, topping the tree, essentially to poach the wood. I contacted to Santa Clara County Arborist Inspectors San Jose Code Enforcement plus tried reaching Skyview Trees before they topped the very top of the tree. There's also a Skyview Trees business in Rohnert Park/Sonoma County with Arborist certifications, accreditations licenses in business much longer than Marisa and Jaime's company - The Skyview Tree Services crewman who trespassed and began poaching away the healthy Redwood used their license number 949233 under false pretenses to botch the Redwood up so badly it could no longer survive... a form of passive tree poaching, with permit and 811 violations to boot. Code Enforcement Director, II David Parker 408-535-7759 david1.parker@sanjoseca.gov verified the otherwise healthy ordinance sized old growth, protected California Redwood Tree was unnecessarily topped by Skyview crew after they purposely over-pruned hundreds and hundreds of virile old growth branches off the entire trunk of the neighborhood ecology and my family's sacred Redwood Tree. We never even received written or verbal notification to expect tree crewmen encroaching our private, personal yard and tree through the neighbor's yard by Skyview, nor the housing community management and community groundskeeper... This was an opportunistic tree poaching by Skyview and who knows what all their cohorts against a senior citizen's family home. Even the common area groundskeeper seemed to be in cahoots with Skyview and two weeks, December 4th after commicating again with Arbortist and Code Enforcement, he physically attacked me, causing multiple serious injuries, a 911 call. Law enforcement did file a report regarding that brutality and also the Redwood tree poaching attempt from November 20th. I had contacted 811 after that incident from November shortly thereafter due to the Skyview tree crew not having permits, and damages they caused as extremely skilled trespassers/poachers/tree-removers with expensive work trucks and heavy equipment. The areas Skyview Tree crewmen encroached were not premarked nor flagged prior to their intrusion on November 20th, 2025 and same thing before they trespassed again to finish poaching all the Redwood trunk full of highly valuable heartwood on Monday February 9th 2026. This time a permit had been issued a by Code Enforcement for "Dead Tree Removal", because Skyview intentionally murdered the Redwood Tree - and no doubt in my mind they had been eyeing the tree for some time while doing palm tree maintenance in the neighborhood common areas. This company has violated my family's deeply religiously held property and rights multiple times in addition to professional standards they purposely and knowingly disregarded to poach the sacred Redwood, all it's branches and timber. Redwood Tree poaching under pretenses of pruning/trimming (intentional over pruning and topping of healthy, ordinance sized old growth California Redwood) without permit in November 2025, and also no 811 premarking of areas is the legacy of Skyview license number 949233 to me - do your research about quality tree professionals not tree poachers with plenty of heavy and expensive equipment... They stole tons of Redwood lumber from our yard, including heartwood and mulch. And many of the yard stepping stones were damaged by their heavy equipment. Unforgettably beyond heartbreaking, Skyview's corruption.. This was the first time we've used Skyview and picked them based on good reviews. Bernard came out at the scheduled time; wearing a mask of course -- there's still a pandemic. We walked our property, pointing out work we wanted done. Bernard asked thoughtful clarifying questions. It never felt like he was trying to upsell us more work. A few days later Marisa sent us a proposal via email and were pleasantly surprised. The price was fair -- very fair. We had a few questions about the proposal which weren't clear to us. For example, we wanted them to plant a small lemon tree in the location they removed a large stump; they clarified they would bring some extra planting soil if it was needed. We scheduled the work for a few weeks later on a day most convenient for us. On the scheduled day, four people arrived on time. Bernard helped get them started but then went on to another job. The crew worked diligently all day; we only saw them take one break at lunch! The job seemed to be larger than we all expected because, by the end of the day, it was clear they would have to come back to finish a few things. We didn't mind at all but we had to wait a few days because the stump grinder needed repairing. The delay of a few days allowed us to check their initial work carefully. There were a few trees/bushes we wanted them to trim a bit more which they happily did. Some of the workers didn't speak English confidently but all seemed to understand our questions and were very polite.
