Just okay Thai food. Definitely overpriced but it's a mountain town and the options are slim

If I could leave this restaurant a negative star, I would. When we came in no one ever came to put our name down we had to wait about 10 minute for someone to finally put down our names. Once sat down, we patiently waited another 10-15 minutes and no one ever came to take our drink and food order. We had to ask someone that we had been waiting for someone to take our order. Our waiter came and took our order (who apparently is the owner/manager). Once our order came we were missing one of the soups and we went ahead and let one of the other workers know, she told us she would put the order in with a bad tone and gave us a dirty look for asking. It never came out, so we asked a different worker if the soup was coming out since at this point we were pretty much done with dinner. After twice asking and waiting our soup finally came. On top off all this, our waitress (the owner/manager) never once came and asked if we needed refills, plates, or bowls for our food. We had to ask for everything from different workers. There was even a couple behind us that had to get up and go refill their own waters at the water station. When we got the tab there was a 15% gratuity charge. We don't mind paying gratuity, but we did not feel like we got good service during our time here. We asked one of the waitresses if they could take the gratuity off and after asking the owner/manager they said that they couldn't do that. We then asked to talk to the manager, which ironically was our originally waitress. We explained to him about our experience and that we would like to have the gratuity taken off due to this as we feel that we did not receive good customer service. After we told him the reasons why, he responded with "I'll take it off, but I don't agree with anything you said" and said that they were busy that's why the service was not great. He never came back with the difference in balance from the tab. He went to multiple tables after we talked to him, but never came back to our table. Prior to this he was just standing by the cashier the whole time while we ate our dinner. Weird that once we said something, he started helping the surrounding tables. We finally decided to get up and go to the register. We told him he never brought our change and he proceeded to threaten us and said "If you don't stop talking, I won't give you your money back". Being a business owner myself, that runs an entertainment/food business these are responses that I would never reply with to my customers. I was in shock with the response's that the owner himself gave us. Instead of apologizing and making sure this wouldn't happen again, he was just plain rude. I will say the food was decent, but I would not recommend this place to anyone after the experience we had here. read more

I and my wife found the Chicken Noodle soup we ordered for our 11 year old son too spicy, he is half Indian from my side and I can assure you no Indian kid can tolerate that much spice, we had requested medium spicy and were told it would be 1 as it is normally 0. We were told that a replacement would result in a charge for an additional order. The waitress (who wore glasses and looked to be of asian ethnicity) told me that my Beef Noodle soup was 0 spicy and it had a decent kick/spice to it. I asked her if a guest wanted no spice (as in chili) what number would they mention, suggesting perhaps -1?! She just proceeded to raise her voice and stated... "you don't get it, this is going nowhere". Surprisingly in our case she said that the restaurant offered only 2 spice levels, 0 and 1, with 0 being the spice I tasted in my Beef Noodle Soup. In hindsight should have seen this coming when I asked for Jalapeños and she quipped "we don't have that, this is a Thai Restaurant", the first half of that sentence should have sufficed despite the fact that many Thai and Vietnamese restaurants serve Jalapeños. To top it 18% gratuity was already added to the check, not sure if they do it normally as we have seen it in some places here, or if it was a result of my expressing indignation at what had transpired. read more

Truly the best spot for dinner! It's been a family go to for a while. We like to get it to go because the seating is limited and can get noisy. If you are staying in a nearby resort, definitely check it out! Spice levels are 1-5 I believe and I get mine at a 2 and can feel the spice. The food at this place is an embarrassment to Thai cuisine. The other highly rated reviews were correct that their food is very flavor. When you can only taste the sauce but nothing else, I suppose that's flavorful. To be fair, the chicken noodle soup we got was alright. However, the pad see ew and the garlic lover stir fry were so salty that they were unedible. We were able to tolerate the stir fry as it came with white rice, but asked the kitchen to remake the pad see ew. Now let's talk about their service. We stopped by Summit Thai on the first night. They were extremely busy with a few parties waiting for tables. I also learned that a few parties were still waiting to be checked in. The first party had been waiting for half an hour without anyone coming over to acknowledge them. A couple of parties left as they were being ignored. I thought wow, their service is terrible but their Yelp ratings are so high. So I gave them a second chance the next day for lunch. The restaurant was half empty, and we got seated right away. Let's come back to that pad see ew. When we asked them to remake it, they said they would need to charge for the amount of pad see ew we already ate, then charge us at full price for the remake. So my ten year old son was the only one who ate the dish. He consumed maybe 10% before giving up to the high sodium level. Then both my husband and I tried a bite before calling it unedible. Really turned off by everything at this point, we said to forget about remaking it. They said they'll still need to charge us at a discounted price. In the end, we ended up paying for 42% of the dish to be exact. I wish I had taken a picture of the dish to show how little we had consumed. My son ended up sharing food with my daughter because he barely had anything to eat. You know what, whatever, I understand it's difficult to run a business and make money. But seriously, they should work on their food and service first. I would give them 0 star for both if I could. If their goal is to become a tourist trap with good reviews, then they have achieved their goal. read more

The waitress who took our order asked us how hot we wanted the food from 1-5 scale. We said mild to medium so a 2. The food came and it was very spicy and hot. When we told a different waitress that it was too hot for us to eat she said the scale is 0-5, 0 is mild, 1 medium, 2 hot, 3 very hot and 4 Thai hot. She then said it was on the door which was propped open and could not see the sign! The manager came and said we were wrong and someone overheard us say hot, and did not believe us that we said mild to medium which she said was a 0.5! But the scale was 0-5 and integers not decimal numbers. And since when if the scale is 1-5 is medium not in the middle??? The manager proceeded to continue to argue with us that we said hot and then said that she could only remake one of the two dishes we ordered but we would have to pay for both, even though we could not eat the second dish. What a scam. Read the article that the owners were "foodies" from Seattle that were thinking summit county would appreciate tasty food and went on about "spicy. Salty. Sweet. Savory." Non of those adjectives about the food here. In addition obviously they did not learn that the customer is right and would it really have been so hard not to just not charge us for the dishes as we offered to just leave?? And if you are going to remake a persons meal then only charge them for what they could eat. Finally, NOWHERE on the PRINTED menu is the scale for how hot the food is explained!!! Really!! The remade dish was not at all tasty. If you want food that will make your palate numb -- go here. If you want to experience a tasty spicy palate go somewhere else. The chef and owners need to understand the difference between spicy and hot!! Any run of the mill place can buy ghost peppers and put it in the food so that you don't taste anything but it is hot -- that is not flavorful food. So still no good Thai food in Summitt County. It's really a shame that this place can't get it together. The food is good, when you can get it! You can not plan on eating here or getting takeout. The website is often "closed for online ordering" and they disconnect their phone or register it as "busy" with Verizon. If you can reach them by phone when they open at 11:00, they'll say they are open, but then they shut their doors, and put up a hand written sign by 3 in the afternoon. Totally different from their hours on the website. Very disappointing! I get that it is a struggle to find employees in summit county, but I wonder if the owners thought things through before opening an asian restaurant in Frisco. They may know how to cook some Thai food but don't seem to have a clue about running a business. Finally Thai food in Summit County and it is excellent! So far we have only tried the egg rolls, Spicy Noodle Soup and Kee Mao but we are looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Someone had mentioned to me this new place has good curry, so I was intrigued to try. I order Panang curry-with chicken and tofu. I couldn't eat the chicken (it was undercooked) and the fried tofu was over fried-so it had a thick crust that got saggy in curry. The curry had a very watery consistency. Not great. 2 out of 10 I also specifically asked if I could do half the chicken and half the tofu-I was told it's ok. Apparently, that was a misunderstanding, I was charged extra 2$ for the tofu I didn't even care to eat. I also tried their Tom yum-14$ for a small bowl, with 4 shrimps, mushrooms and a bunch of cilantro?...hm...to say overpriced is an understatement. I left $36 and felt robbed... read more

Great Thai food near Breckenridge without the Breckenridge prices. I also believe their quality is well above Breckenridge Thai places. Reasonably priced. Great service. You can have it as "hot" as you like. The waiter explained that most Americans think a 1 is mild to medium and 2 is hot (They go to 5) He said he likes his food VERY HOT but that is a "3" at Summit Thai. We sat next to a couple who felt they knew better and were in tears when their "4" arrived. Tears were flowing as they tried to consume their food. They told the waiter they should have listened to him. I had Drunken noodles with pork and medium heat and it was perfect for me. Nice portions and some leftovers for lunch the next day. My wife had the sweet & sour pork with no spice and she was delighted. No reason to pay Aspen prices in Breckenridge for great Thai. Summit Thai is in Frisco near the Safeway and Walmart. Several restaurants in that shopping strip as well. Mexican, Chinese, Himalayan, and Thai. We will return. But remember, listen to your waiter :-).
