The food was amazing and the service was great. We sat in the area with a view, and it was all very splendid. From the beginning to the end, absolutely amazing. This restaurant is definitely worth the wait. My husband had made reservations months in advance. Very nice experience.

What a great experience! Would have loved a window table for our anniversary but maybe that's a special request. Our waiter was great! Very personable and was around at all the right times. Drinks: we got Soul Mate Sour and The G&G - I LOVE guava so the g & g was 10/10 so delicious! Soul mate sour was just fitting for the occasion. For our appetizer we got the sampler since we couldn't choose but if we go back again we'd get the ahi sashimi. They had a special salad available that night and it was delicious. It was probably arugula, pear, pistachio, goat cheese, and a vinaigrette. VERY GOOD. I don't have a photo of my partners food but he got the cottage cut roast prime ribs which again, DELICIOUS. And the horseradish options?! We still think about them. I also really loved the creamed spinach it came with. His plate was wiped clean. For myself, I got the salmon which is always a risky choice because more often than not it's cooked dry. Not this time... it was buttery and soft and perfectly cooked. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience and I'd love to go back for more.

I finally got to try this place and just in time for the OC restaurant week pre fixe menu! The food was nothing special and I'm not sure if I'll ever be back. Blue Cheese Iceberg Wedges - well balanced salad with creamy blue cheese dressing on crunchy lettuce leaves, the bacon bits and pecans added great texture and umami to the salad, tangy tomatoes complemented the rich dressing well Prime Rib Castle Cut - DONT get it. You're basically paying for bone. I got the castle cut expecting more meat but nobody lets you know that it is a bone-in cut and less meat than expected is pretty disappointing, ordered med rare but came out more medium, au jus and horseradish were good flavorful complements since the meat was on the bland side Creamed Spinach - on the salty side but complemented the weaker flavors of the prime rib Creamed Corn - very flavorful and definitely creamy, thoroughly enjoyed this one Row 503 Pinot Noir - dry enough to complement the prime rib, easy to drink and great pairing NY Style Cheesecake - dense and decadent cheesecake with tart strawberries and strawberry sauce to pair, great ending to a savory dish Besides the food, the biggest flat for me was the amount of critters during dinner. There was a big fly circling the dinner room, a crane fly hanging around our window from the inside, and a little spider crawling around the dining table. If I'm expecting to pay a little more for a classy dinner, these are things I'd never want to encounter.

    Lobster Bisque Soup - Bowl

Came here with my family on a Friday evening and had a reservation for 5:15. Got seated pretty much right away. We ordered the OC restaurant week special and I picked the lobster bisque, 7oz prime rib, and cream puff dessert (sorry can't remember what it's called). I couldn't have wine since I'm pregnant and was hoping they'd let me sub for a non alcoholic cocktail. All they could offer me was a soft drink so I opted for sprite + lemonade. Pretty bummed about that since a glass of wine was roughly $13, which is the same price as a cocktail. The lobster bisque was delicious and kicked my meal off pretty well. I had to order the steak at Medium which definitely made a difference for me. I didn't full enjoy it but the sides were amazing! We had creamed corn, creamed spinach, and a popover. The creamed corn was probably one of the best that I've had. My dessert was also fantastic. I was insanely full but had to keep eating. It was 2 scoops of ice cream in two cream puffs and the flavors just worked so well together. I've never had a dessert like that and it was definitely one of a kind! My only gripes is the critters we kept finding. There was a fly buzzing around the table for the first portion of the meal. Then after the soup came out, a spider crawled across the table towards my son and my husband had to get it with his hands. Then; towards the middle to end of the meal, a crane fly was flying around the table. I've actually never had a problem like this before in any restaurant so it was a bit annoying. Overall; the experience was nice and the best part was the dessert. I'm not sure if we'd come back though.

The ambiance is top notch whether you're inside or outside. It's my favorite spot for prime rib in the LA area. Parking can be difficult in the main lot, but they have a lower lot and valet parking Food/Drink- 4 stars Truffle fries- these were superb. definitely order Escargot- a bit disappointed by it. The snails had more bitterness than expected Prime rib- this was divine. Every slice of the prime rib was so flavorful. I love how you can request it to be cut thinly into English cuts. The creamed corn and creamed spinach were very good, and I appreciated that it wasn't overwhelmed with heavy cream, like a lot of other steakhouses. I was a bit disappointed by the Yorkshire pudding, which came out a bit dry desserts- we tried the chocolate profiteroles and strawberry cheesecake. Both were pretty good / standard steakhouse quality Service- 4 stars Our server, Matt, was excellent. My only complaint was the pacing, as we did wait a long time between our appetizers and entrees. Bottom Line The ambiance, views and prime rib were top notch. But the pacing and dryness of the Yorkshire pudding left some room for improvement

Came to Summit House for a Valentine's Day dinner. Everything was amazing! Restaurant- Cute english cottage restaurant. Beautiful outside, gorgeous inside. They had lots of parking, with valet option available too. Inside they had many fireplaces going and live piano music. All of the tables are facing a beautiful view. Such a beautiful ambiance. Service- Cameron was top tier. He was so sweet, helpful with questions and recommendations, and frequently checked in to see how we were doing. Our food also came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering it. We were amazed how fast the food came out! There were also kind gentlemen that came to clear our plates whenever we finished a dish. Such amazing service. Food- Food was 10/10. We tried escargot for the first time and my date loooooved it. It wasn't my cup of tea but they prepared it wonderfully. My date ordered the lamb and I ordered the John Dory fish. Both were excellent! The bread and the cream corn were wonderful too. To end our night, we got the carrot cake which was to die for. It was so moist and delicious!

You know it's a celebration at Summit House. The private uphill entrance exudes exclusivity while the House on the hill provides a scenic view of the city. Make reservations because this restaurant was packed for Valentine's Day. There's private parking in the limited lot and they also have valet parking. The dining experience was superb and our server, Marissa, was very attentive. Despite being very busy, she always made sure to check on our table, snapped a great photo, and provided great detail of the menu. The Filet Mignon (7oz medium rare) was one of the most tender beef I've tasted. The chef cooked it perfectly with a seasoned crust on the outside and tender lightly red in the middle. The accompanying Béarnaise sauce elevated the dish. The creamed corn was savory with lots of corn and creamy flavorful sauce. The escargot was tender and cooked in delicious garlic butter. I used the complimentary sourdough bread to dip in the sauce which made it divine. I couldn't end dinner without dessert, which I tried the Caramel Bread Pudding. It was so good, and not too sweet. The bread had some crisp edges, which juxtaposed with the soft ice cream. The flavors melded together very well. I recommend requesting a table by the window to see the city lights or even the outside dining area. I will definitely come back for another celebration.

This place is still one of our favorite steakhouses. You can't go wrong with the prime rib or rib eye or any other dish on their menu. Bread pudding was also really good! Our waitress was also super nice despite the busyness. She gave us a little card for our celebration. Very pleasant! They instituted a new policy where you have to pay for an extra plate if you buy an entree to share. They told us big groups were coming in and ordering entrees to share and taking advantage of the unlimited bread and corn. Understandable but my wife and I are on low carb diets so we don't even finish the first round of bread and corn. Why not just cap the bread and corn or establish a threshold of orders based on the party size. Anyways not a big deal but just a heads up for people who want to share. Aside from that, prices are pretty reasonable for the dishes themselves. We ordered the prime rib castle cut which I believe is 24 oz. It was under $100 and I think we will have enough leftover for days. Option to valet park or at the visitors lot down the hill if you're willing to park. Super nice view if you sit outside.

WOW absolutely decadent. My favorite dish. Creamed Corn.
    Jeanette S.

Our server Cameron is one in 1 a million and we have Cameron twice now he never disappointments. He is spot on! He is patient. He is kind he's professional. He knows when we need something without signaling or asking for him to come to the table. He's amazing. He's a tentative, but not overly. It's just perfect the way he waits on tables. His timing is magical just like him. He is amazing so don't forget to ask for Cameron.. I do not know why I can't get a picture of Cameron on my review.

Delightful! The restaurant is located at the top of a hill, hence the name. It really does look like a house from the outside which was cool. We got the arugula salad, portabello mushrooms, and the summit house cut prime rib (10 oz). The arugula salad was refreshing and light, a wonderful starter for the rest of the food. Portabello mushrooms were savory, creamy, and not too filling. Highly recommended for an appetizer! I got the prime rib medium rare and it was one of the best I've ever tried. The meat was tender and the thickness was just right. For those looking to have more appetizers or other dishes, I would recommend the cottage cut size instead (7 oz). The service was great too, they took the time to recommend a variety of dishes to our liking which was appreciated. Would recommend this place for those looking to book a special dinner / celebration !

Located up a private street which will lead you into their free valet parking. Loved the warm house bread served with decadent soft butter. Tried the Summit house salad which is Boston lettuce hydroponically grown, tossed with pancetta, grated Gruyère cheese, sourdough croutons, roasted pecans and black mustard seed vinaigrette. Prime rib of beef which is slow roasted and carved to order, served with au jus and creamed horseradish. For dessert, tried the mini creme brûlée and mini chocolate torte. Great experience.

Sourdough Bread (Complimentary). Warm, tangy, and pleasantly chewy.

First time here and it felt like being a part of an old school dinner party hosted by someone's fancy great-aunt. Warm wood accents, a charming assortment of chairs, and a grand stone fireplace as the centerpiece were all elements that gave the space character, warmth, and a bit of elegance. THE FOOD. - Sourdough Bread (Complimentary). Warm, tangy, and pleasantly chewy. - Locally Grown Brussels Sprouts. Sweetly glazed with bits of bacon for savoriness. - Lobster Bisque. Silky and rich, with tender lobster bits and crunchy croutons adding contrast. Meanwhile, the bisque delivered deep buttery sweetness, a touch of brininess, and a velvety finish. Highly recommend. - French Onion Soup. The broth was deeply savory and the thick, melty cheese blanket on top gave it that perfect comfort-food finish. Highly recommend. - Prime Rib: Cottage Cut (Medium Rare). Incredibly tender and flavorful, the prime rib melted with each bite. The au jus added savoriness, while the horseradish was mild and airy. The sides (creamed corn, creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding) made excellent accompaniments to this entrée. Highly recommend. THE DRINKS. - Espresso Martini. Strong coffee with a kick; bold, smooth, and easily addictive. Highly recommend. - G&G. A sweet guava & gin combo that was bright & tropical. - Downtown Brown, Lost Coast. Malty rich with a smooth finish. THE PARKING. Parking wasn't bad; we luckily found a spot right away, but it was a tight squeeze. I'd recommend valet parking to skip the hunt and preserve your sanity. THE VERDICT. It's one of those classic steakhouses that delivers on both food and old school ambiance. Reservations are pretty much mandatory to ensure getting seated right away. Pro tip: The bar opens up before the main dining room, so grab a drink while you wait!

Guinness isn't just another draft beer; it needs to settle, and it should be served in a proper tulip or Guinness glass to get that classic presentation. The fix is simple: slow the pour down and train the staff on the traditional method. The pub has the vibe. Now it just needs to respect the pint.

For some reason the refinery spend their 40 minutes cooking the hell out of my burger, and they could even put the tooth pick in the middle of my burger, like is it that hard to stab my burger in the middle. I honestly don't know how The Refinery inside the Hilton in Brea manages to stay open. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the place looks nice when you walk in, but that's where the positives end. The service was painfully slow -- not the "busy restaurant" kind of slow, but the "did anyone remember we're here?" kind. We waited forever just to get water, and it somehow took even longer for the food. Then the food actually showed up... and wow. Bland, overpriced, and somehow still cold. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. For a restaurant attached to a Hilton, I expected at least basic quality, but this felt like cafeteria food with steakhouse prices. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.

Thaer was a great waiter and extremely attentive. He continued to check on us and did not try to rush us out even though we took quite a bit of time. We would definitely recommend this location and we will definitely be back with hopes to be served by Thaer again! (Sorry not photos, we came hungry and I forgot to take them ‍)

You have to be careful not to pass it since there is only one entrance to the parking lot , if you pass the entrance you will have to make a U-turn and come back. We didn't think we would get seated fast because the parking lot was pretty full. But we got lucky and were seated right away. Service is pretty good , they have a lot of people working here. The place is really big and has a lot of seating. It was quite busy. I ordered a Spanish omelette and my son ordered the blueberry pancakes. My omelette was ok, it had way too much peppers and I didn't see the cheese , it comes with a side so I went with country potato with onions and bell peppers. I only wish that it included some kind of toast. My son's pancakes were ok, they are only topped with blueberries we thought the blueberries were going to be inside the batter or inside the pancake. He had to add a lot of syrup to make them soft. The one thing I will say is that the house coffee is very good. It's Lavazza coffee which is really good. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying some other options or coming back for lunch or happy hour.

Enjoyed a delicious Easter brunch here! Great ambiance…read more Got there about 10 minutes before they opened--didn't have a reservation, but were seated immediately along with the many other people lined up outside before they opened. Some had reservations, especially larger parties. If you plan, do the reservation thing. I prefer to do that. But we were a small party so it worked out. My breakfast biscuit was decadent and delicious. Great fried egg cooked perfectly with delicious cheese and avocado and bacon. First time I've had a perfect fried egg at a restaurant. They do it right! The Cajun seasoned tots on the side were better fresh than reheated later. Not my fave. The side of candy bacon was also very nice-- balance of sweet and spicy was great. It's served slightly chilled, but was good. The peach bellini is perfectly bubbly-- not blended. Just the way I like it! Great portion of two full glasses per order. Strong champagne. Lovely and priced right for brunch. My daughter's pancakes with warm berry compote on the side were delicious. I couldn't resist eating one since the stack was so large. Shareable for sure! And her side of bacon and scrambled eggs were delicious also. Server was fabulous. Friendly and efficient. Overall great experience. I'll definitely return soon.

What a unique German restaurant right in Brea…read more It instantly reminded me of the Hofbräuhaus in Vegas with its friendly and welcoming food hall. I'm not super familiar with German cuisine, but everything felt authentic and traditional. I ordered their popular Ruben sandwich, served hot with corned beef, sauerkraut, and a Russian dressing on rye bread. It was delicious and packed with meat and flavor. The fries that came along with it were so crispy and tasty. I also tried the breaded veal cutlet, which is a German specialty. Both dishes were very good and hearty. They also have a great beer selection on draft. I went with the Spaten Pilsner, which paired perfectly with the meal. I love that each of their beers is served in its own branded glass. It was just super filling, I wasn't able to finish everything. Overall, a great experience and definitely a spot I'd come back to and try their various specialties (like their sausages) !

I said I would be just ordering a beer while waiting on my friend, and the bartender let me sample a couple before making my decision for a nice German beer. I decided to sit outside and enjoy the warm sunshine, and a server came out to check on me. My friend had texted a different place for dinner, so I visited the clean ladies room, paid my tab, and received a warm farewell and invitation to return for dinner another time. Neat place, solid German menu, and super friendly staff will make this a dinner stop for me in the future!
