I had never tried Summer Moon before, but had to do some remote work a couple of weeks ago and this was one half way for my work partner. The actually coffee is pretty good. I got a half moon latte, and it was pretty sweet. The staff was really friendly and left the laptop crowd to themselves. The interior is SUPER tiny and it was raining that day so we were lucky to get a table. Could definitely imagine Summer afternoons on their patio. My husband I are huge fans of Summer Moon. The Anderson location is, "My Moon" and he goes to the Burnet location. I could not be more obsessed with this coffee place. Their nitro cold brew is life changing, and I'm fairly certain is the cure for everything. Having a bad day? Nitro cold brew. In need of a caffeine fix? Nitro cold brew. Want something that tastes delicious? Nitro cold brew. It is hands down the best nitro cold brew I've ever had, and I make it a point to sample nitro cold brew everywhere I go. It's so smooth and delicious. My husband's go to is the Mocha Moon - a standard mocha latte made with their top secret moon milk. It's too sweet for my taste, but they do offer moon milk lattes in 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 varieties where they'll fill up the latte with moon milk and then the rest with skim milk (or a milk alternative, if you prefer). New location in a cute/neighborhood-y part of West Anderson. Plenty of outdoor seating and decent amount of indoor seating. It's not TOO hard to find a spot, but maybe cause it's summertime and it's a new location? Not sure yet, only been once. Been to the Burnet one but so far, prefer this one. WiFi is fast, good amount of outlets, baristas are friendly. THE HALF WINTER MOON LATTE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. Omg!! Loved it. Just right. Prices are a little steep, as mentioned in other reviews. Also not sure why there are like 6+ baristas here.. for a modest-sized countertop. With that said, staff can be a little more attentive sweeping the floors. How is it possible I get a good cup of coffee every single time here? How is it possible someone doesn't screw up the cold brew or moon milk or lattes? How does everyone know how to make things good here every time I'm here? This place is bright and open. It's a lovely space to get work done and sip on tasty coffee. Summer Moon is the best! My boyfriend and I LOVE Summer Moon and go at least once a week. I've never been disappointed by anything I've ordered. My favorite drinks include the Matcha Moon, Blue Moon, and Wintermoon. The "moon milk" is so delicious and unique. I love that they offer a dairy-free moon milk as well, which is usually what I sub for! It's also awesome that they have seasonal drinks, which I really enjoy trying out! Online pickup is really easy, and I love that they have an app. There have been a few occasions where our simple, two drink orders have taken an absurd amount of time to be ready (two times it has taken around 40 minutes to be ready for pickup?! But I think those were one-off things. They're always very busy at this location - but there are certain times, like weekend mornings, that tend to be extra busy). However, the drinks are usually ready in a pretty timely manner. Pickup in general is easy and efficient. I will admit I'm not a huge coffee person, like everyone else in my life. BUT Summer Moon just is so special, and I find myself craving it all the time (which is totally normal for me). And so my adventure begins rating coffee shops in a brand new city. You think by now my studying days should be over but it seems never ending. I found Summer Moon on YelpAustin's instagram page and immediately knew I had to try it. There are a couple locations around Austin, so deciding where to go seemed like a big decision. After looking at pictures online my friend and I just went to the closest one to us. This Andersen Summer Mood has a lot of seating outside (we were not planning to sit outside on this hot summer day though). Inside, there is some window counter seating, a few 2 person small tables and a large study table. We were lucky to get some spots at the large table to study. The space is a bit cramped for my wheelchair but doable. For coffee, if it is your first time, it is a bit confusing. At least for me, they have special names for the coffee and I was not sure what was exactly in them. Summer Moon is known for this sweet milk that they use in their coffee which they call their "Moon Milk". You can get a latte with just moon milk, half moon milk half skim or even 1/4 if it is too sweet for you. (They gave me a sample of the moon milk before, so you can ask to try it!) So a normal latte is called the Summer Moon and to get it iced it is called Winter Moon (get it? summer = hot, winter = cold). There is also half summer moon and half winter moons too which means half of the moon milk to make it less sweet. You can get flavor shots in there which if I remember correctly includes: vanilla, hazelnut, caramel and Lavender. If anyone has ever read any of my past reviews they immediately would know which one I chose. So I ended up getting an iced lavender latte with half moon milk, this officially on the menu is called Half Blue Moon. I am not sure what the other flavored lattes names are because that is as far as I got and I stopped holding up the line. My drink was AMAZING! It was like sipping on a cloud! (and not a rip off cloud like Starbuck's cloud macchiatos). Definitely would recommend this place for the coffee and they have a loyal fan in me now. They even have points you can work towards a free drink! I am not sure if I would come back here to study per se, it was a little loud and the space is small so it is a guessing game whether you will get a study spot when you go. first of all, SM got me messed up. second, y'all better off ordering in person then placing online orders for pickup!!!!!!! I placed an ONLINE order at 9 am, walked in at 920 and no coffee. I finally received a notification saying my coffee was ready at 940 BUT it wasn't. my ONE coffee wasn't ready till 10:15. ridiculous! and yes, my dumb*** waited that long like i didn't have a job to get to. The barista working online orders this morning was terribly slow, living her best life making 1 coffee every 3 minutes.. and whats worse .. there was 2 baristas working online orders ... so I thought. I almost gave SM staff a hard time. i was going to ask for a refund then re-ring my order w the cashier .. so she could make my coffee.. as I and others waited for our online orders that never came. walk-ins were happily coming and going, living their best life not having to wait an hour for coffee... good for them...i hope they stepped on legos today. three. parking is lame. parking never available this is why my butt should make coffee at home more often or swing by McDonald's across the way... their coffee is decent.. we all know that. four, I got no four.. I've started coming by this location on Anderson Ln almost every Sunday morning a couple of months ago & love it. It's a relaxing atmosphere with comfortable seating inside & out. Even when they are busy you can look around & see other coffee goers tucked in either enjoying one another's company or plugged into a devise for work/school all feeling at ease to hang out. The baristas make a perfect Cortado with that luxurious silky texture they create with their impeccably steamed milk and infuse with a flawlessly pulled shot of espresso. Dang! The staff here is so so so friendly. I really appreciated how each and everyone we interacted with was friendly, upbeat and genuinely seemed to like being there. Seeing as I was wearing my "kill kill kill/murder murder murder" earrings (thank you Sorry To Bother You)...I couldn't have gotten an assortment of reactions from staff. But all were super unphased (thank you very much for that) ---and just rolled with it. There's plenty of natural light and parking availability here. Austin, you continue to blow me away with all the delicious renditions of matcha lattes you have to offer. This experience was no different. I wandered into this coffee shop to find a space to relax and get some stuff done on my day off and a quick glance at the menu led me to getting this wonderful, earthy concoction. The waitress suggested I try the oat version and I obliged and lorddddd am I so thankful! I usually get almond milk but man- this latte was perfect just the way it was. I was seated on a bar seat for a couple hours and although it was convenient, I do wish there were more comfortable seats available. Little loss on the seating but huge win on the matcha. I haven't seen them in a year so I was excited to try this place with them as they had never tried it either. I was greeted immediately & the friendly face suggested several offerings when I decided on the wintermoon. I have a huge sweet tooth & I was told this was their sweetest drink! As I waited, I took note of the 2 gentleman taking up the whole community table (which could seat about 8 people!!!!) with their laptops & bags spread over... C'mon guys, please be considerate of other patrons. The 2 baristas at the counter didn't seem to have any problem with it. There literally seemed like no where to sit. When my friends arrived they were helped in a timely manner. One of the baristas seemed to be impatient with my best friends & even turned away to work on something else. Remember, this was the first time all 3 of us had been there. A little more attention would've gone a long way. This is the first time I've ever had a bad experience at a Summermoon. I've been to all the locations as I love love love me some Summermoon but this location will be one I won't visit again. Which really sucks because it's the closest to my home. I online ordered and there was an option at check out for them to bring it out to you. I thought how nice since I'm in a rush. It states after you order just call this number when you arrive and they will bring it out. HA. False advertisement. I called multiple times, no answer. Don't offer the option if you can fulfill it? Then this part of the review wouldn't even exist. There would be zero disappointment? The main and other reason I'm writing this is because of the customer service y'all. I obviously had to go in, which whatever, no biggie. No one greeted me. I stood at the barista counter ignored. I had to say excuse me, politely of course, twice before I could even get his attention. By this point my coffee had easily been sitting there 5-7 mins after my scheduled pick up time. First sip, cold. I work in a showroom and all we use personally and for our customers is Summer Moon coffee beans and I have it every morning, however I've never gotten anything at their shop. As much as I love Summer Moon, I can't give this location five stars due to the amount of time it takes to get a cup of coffee. It appears that every location has two espresso machines, but even during busy times I've frequently seen only one in use. Additionally, online orders are weighted equally with in-person orders, and it's frustrating to watch cups of coffee piling up for folks that aren't there. I've ordered online and it's very convenient, but sometimes I just stop in and order on site. I hope the owners are aware of the time it takes to serve their customers and work on a solution. Maybe a solution could be to staff two baristas on one machine for online orders and two on the other machine for in-person orders during peak hours. read more

They have breakfast tacos from a local place like many coffee places around Austin so if you've tried them elsewhere they are the same pre made and delivered tacos but they're good enough to eat one or two. Same quality. Same taste. Different vibe. One thing I love about Summermoon is that each location is very different. The outside of this one reminds me of their flagship. A little off the beaten path (not in a popular shopping center) and parking is meh. But plenty of outdoor seating. The inside is smaller than the Burnet, Westlake, and Cedar Park locations, but gives off a cozier vibe, though not as grungy as the 1st st. location. Baristas were awesome as usual. If this is your first time, my suggestion is to get anything with moon milk (1/2 is super creamy if you're into that, 1/4 is great if you want to taste the coffee a little more). The black coffee itself is quite smooth and their nitro cold brew is some of the best in the city. read more
