This was my third time going to Summer Moon. I keep coming back here when I visit Austin ever since my friend brought me here in college! My taste in coffee has matured a bit over the years, so I was looking for a less sweet drink this time. I settled on the 1/8 winter moon (iced), which is their lowest menu option, but I was told they could do lower if I wanted! The 1/8 was perfect. I love how rich the moon milk makes the drinks, even with only 1/8 the amount of the full moon! The interior of the coffee shop is beautiful as well. A Summer Moon opened up in the suburbs of Houston so I might have to start going there when I'm passing by! read more

I haven't reviewed this location but it is just as great as the others. Each Summermoon has their own style. This one is more about outdoor seating and lounging. The staff here is extremely friendly and always helpful. Let's talk drinks! Summermoon has their own moon milk and it is sweet. If you're not into that they have the half moon or other coffees without their "special sauce." I personally love the iced Mocha moon but am not fixed on any one drink. read more

Every time I've been here, I've been greeted with a smile and a friendly welcome! Honestly, service here is better than Starbucks AND the coffee is like heaven!! My bf who typically only drinks black coffee (as do I) make an exception and come here basically religiously to get our caffeine fix!! It's just SO delicious and addictive (the moon milk). I'm somewhat lactose intolerant, but I love to get this coffee - tastes best fresh! The staff is always helpful and look happy to be there. Seating is limited indoors but there's also some out on the patio. Plenty of parking on the other side of the lot as well. read more

Love the coffee here yet 40 minute wait for online order and 15 minutes after estimated time is tough - perhaps can turn off online orders when as busy as today was inside or has been during a few recent visits. If you ain't going to Summer Moon for the summer moon latte with full moon sweetness, I'd call you bonkers for missing out! Even though the full moon basically means full sweetness, this is the way you NEED to have your latte. My cup of joe was the perfect blend of sweetness & creaminess. I didn't realize that this place would be packed on a Saturday around 10am. My first encounter was at their Burnet Location near Domain and I wasn't impressed. I decided to give it another try. When we got there the line was out the door but due to the 6ft distance. Line took longer than usual due to college kids cutting in line with their friends. We waited roughly 15 mins to order with just 6 people ahead of us. My fiancé and I waited about what seemed like 30mins for our lattes to be made which is ridiculous. I think their service needs some restructuring as waiting for a cup of jo for that long is ridiculous. I ordered the 1/4 moon latte with an extra shot while my fiancé had the vanilla latter with an extra shot. In comparison to other coffee joints I've been too, they add too much milk that mutes the intense flavor of the espresso in my opinion. 3 stars for slow service and mediocre lattes. read more

Way too many young people working who don't understand the meaning of customer service. When a patron walks in you don't continue to talk in a huddle and laugh and ignore someone. Plus your nitro brew coffee is absolutely terrible. This location is the worst and I live right up the street from it. GET THE WINTERMOON. Ok idk what they are putting in their moon milk but omg it's so good. I get the half wintermoon so it's not as sweet but they offer full and quarter as well. So much better than any iced latte or iced mocha from any other coffee shop. I also had the best tacodeli taco I've ever had from a summermoon like idk what they are doing to get the tacos better than they are at the actual tacodeli but wow that made my monring. Omg! Good thing I finally tried their moon coffee because I would be missing out. There seems to be a lot of locations but we chose this one because they have cute store design. We got the iced matcha moon milk and iced blue moon milk (lavender). Both were so good but I liked lavender a bit more. Apparently 20oz comes with either 3 or 4 shot espresso shots. But I just went with 1 1/2 and I like how they asked how much I want. They only use soy, almond, coconut and oat milk which was a plus for me because I can't drink whole milk. The coffee really tasted more like bubble tea but not entirely sweet, I enjoyed the smooth texture. Obviously with COVID-19, they were set for social distancing. Limited capacity 50%. Ordering online via google was really easy. The online order pick up station is outside on some tables. They had 4 spaced out patio tables to sit at outside. Had a cool first experience at Summer Moon. Employee was super helpful with answering all of my questions about the different things on the menu. I decided to try the Summer Moon Coffee (hot), the Winter Moon Coffee (cold) and The Strawberry-Banana Smoothie. S.M.- was a bit too sweet for me, it was like drinking creamer W.M- I added two shots of espresso and used Almond milk instead of Oat milk. Came out pretty good. They take contactless orders online. I have ordered a few times online which is nice. They emailed a confirmed receipt and then a follow up email of when the coffee is ready. This is my favorite part. Make sure your order is correct. During peak times, they are trying to push out orders but it can get mixed up. I was on my way out when u realize the wrong drink was made and turn around Bc it was not what I expected and too sweet. I did have them remake the drink and the cashier did apologize and correct the mistake. The drink was not Expedited and I ended up waiting another 15min for the drink to be ready. I bastardize it with cream and sugar without abandon and Summer Moon is one of those places that not only allows that; they celebrate it. The creamy, rich latte was the perfect sipping agent on a rainy, dreary day a couple weeks ago. I love Summer Moon, but this location left a bad taste in my mouth... not literally, at least. I was trying to order online but they had a $0.50 service fee and that was a 20% surcharge on my $2.50 drip coffee. Figured I'd just go inside and order instead, and somehow I got rung up as $3.00. When I asked why, she told me there was a $0.50 upcharge for skim milk, which isn't true as their online menu shows an upcharge only for milk alternatives. A lot ado over 50 cents, I know, but there really shouldn't be this much confusion. I just wanted a black coffee with a splash of skim. Why charge a service fee for pickup when I'm freeing your staff from taking my order? If the coffee wasn't so good, I'd be giving them 3*. read more

I was looking for a Starbucks alternative and found this place. What a gem! I was very impressed with the coffee, environment, and the pastries that were available. The coffee is definitely top-notch. I consider myself a bit of a coffee snob and although my go-to is a triple macchiato with a splash of dry steamed coconut milk (I like simplicity) , I usually base my understanding of a coffee shop from their mocha. The mocha is amazing, I subbed for steamed oat milk, and it was very flavorful. I will come back very soon as this easily became a new favorite. read more

We just moved to the area and we're told we had to try moon milk! I had no idea what to expect but after trying the iced 007 and Sean Connery I was hooked! I love Summermoon coffee. I was excited to see this new location open near my house. It is located on the first level of a shared coworking location. The inside seating area is small and has only a few tables. It is a bit tight to walk around. However, there is a neat outdoor patio area that provides some additional space. The parking is limited and narrow and surrounds the building, so keep driving around, you might find something. Summermoon is a family owned Austin business. They are unique in that they utilize the artisan craft of wood-fired coffee roasting using Texas Oak. They designed and built their roaster from scratch, and laid each brick by hand. It takes three people to custom hand-roast their coffee every day. Not all of their locations are owned by the family. Many (like I think this one) is a franchise. So each location has a different food menu. As this is a smaller location, they don't have many food options. It is very limited. But the coffee is the same! It is the perfect spot to grab a morning coffee. They also have a special unique ingredient - Moon Milk! It is a super sweet milk substance (ingredients a mystery) that takes a typical latte to another level. This location also offers their nitro cold brew. I love it, but it always leaves me feeling a bit jittery. It must be PACKED with caffeine. read more

Let's start with this: I freaking love Summer Moon. But I do not like *this* Summer Moon. I think of this one as the one who never had everything needed: out of straws, heavy whipping cream, out of tacos, espresso machine is down (more than once!), power is out (more than once!), slow baristas/order taker (way more than once). They don't have a consistent online order pickup process so that's confusing that I have to wander around looking for my order - is it at the bar? The shelves? Not done yet? The pastry selection at this location is lacking. I just don't have time in the mornings between school drop-off and work to mess around with my order not being able to be completed well. I go up to the one on Burnet - fast, easy, great selection and just the way I want it every single time. read more

Moon milk for life! Not only is their signature drink the most delicious thing ever, their coffee is good coffee. Their staff is also the friendliest and they have great dance moves. Sometimes with trendy or more upscale coffee shops, from my experiences, the staff tends to be snooty. But not here and i love that! I also love the ambiance at this store, very open and lots of natural light. I went saturday morning and it was very busy with people coming and going but still ample seating available. There's a really cute outdoor seating area which appears to have water bowls for dogs. This review is to reflect Covid protocols this location has implemented as I have already reviewed their coffee (5 stars btw) Summermoon is currently allowing people to order online and pickup at the store. They have a table outside where they put your drink so all you have to do is walk up, find your name, and grab your drink. If you want to order inside, you can also do that. They implemented a One-Way enter and a One-way exit so that you don't come into contact with any other customer. They have plexiglass covering the whole barista bar area as well as the cashier who takes your order. They all had masks and they DO require that the customer also wear a mask!! The payment was contactless and easy. Overall, summermoon has done a fabulous job with implementing Covid procedures and keeping everyone including their employees safe. It waz OK the coffee was good they are not good at preparing the matcha moon at this location go to the Bee Cave's location their matcha moon is the bomb. This location boasts ample parking (however I am sure that once the location takes off and if and when the other tenants are busy, these spots will become coveted) and a beautiful outdoor patio. Though smaller than their other Austin locations, I do believe they will garner a decent amount of attention - as it is on a direct path to mopac if you are coming from Lamar or Anderson in the morning. I will say I'm not a huge fan of the tacos they are sourcing. I much prefer Taco Deli - and Taco selection can greatly factor into my choice for the morning. However the picturesque nature of the space draws me in, and I stay for the moon milk. read more

This ends up being just the right level of sweetness with a good kick of caffeine! I can get some work done and sip on this simultaneously while looking at the traffic passing by. Be warned on the sweetness levels and make your pick accordingly since they do have the options. There is sufficient seating in all, with table, plug points and counter seating.
