I asked for some advice from the server about what drink to get. I asked her which one was her favourite. She was really friendly and recommended the matcha drinks. I was in the mood for something with coffee flavour and luckily there was a matcha latte! The flavour was just right, and she even brought it directly to my table rather than calling it out and having me stand up to go get it. It was just a nice touch to the experience. I was able to enjoy my drink and read my book / write in my journal in peace! Peace is really what I needed today. I'm glad I was able to find it here :)

I was able to get a free street parking spot right out front on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of tables when I walked in with singles and pairs chatting or doing some quiet work on their laptop. Staff were friendly and I asked for a recommendation - they asked if I liked matcha (who doesnt!) and recommended something from their specials menu. I decided to go with the iced pistachio matcha with oat milk and after everything it was about $10. Not the cheapest, but I think its kind of the going price of matcha drinks these days. The drink took a while and I was just about to get a bit restless when another staff brought out the drink and I was a bit shocked. The drink was HUGE, probably double the size of what you'd get at any other matcha shop! The most unique thing about this drink was there was literally pistachio bits with every. single. sip. Most places only do the visual sprinkle of pistachio on top so you get maybe 1 or 2 sips with pistchio and that's it. Nok Nok serves up quality and every single sip I had of that large drink had pistchio crunchies. Delicious and I will definitely be back.

I wish they had a water dispenser instead of having to buy bottled water. But the space is very cute and clean. Fantastic if you need to study or do some work or meet friends for a chitchat. There are outlets at almost every table. The people behind the counter was friendly and explained what was in each sandwich. Noise level is quite minimal with the quiet chatter here and there, making it a good spot to get some work done while people watching. My go-to's for ordering are their matcha drinks for sure. Strong matcha taste and the right amount of sweetness. I've tried the original matcha and the ube matcha before and both were pretty good. If I'm feeling like drinking coffee, I liked their dirty ube latte! I do prefer my coffee on the sweeter side, so something to keep in mind if you're into darker roasts. Also had their hazelnut latte and that was on the bitter side (for my tastes). We also ordered a matcha cookie the last time we were there and it had a strong matcha taste as well. On the sweeter side though since there was also white chocolate/macadamia bits. Would pair well with an espresso. Would definitely come again (as I have already)! We ordered a pistachio latte, apple crisp macchiato and Turkish coffee. We asked for the first two drinks to go and Turkish coffee in house. Unfortunately, our barista made all the drinks to go. We did not get to enjoy the Turkish coffee in a nicer presentation. Also, we kind of expected a sugary treat to accompany the Turkish coffee and there was nothing. Maybe because I am used to other cafes just automatically offering a Turkish delight or something? There was a cup of water to wash down the bitter coffee. Overall, I think their food is probably a better option than their drinks. My pistachio latte was alright. I could taste a hint of the pistachio. Service was alright. We received our drinks fairly quickly.

I was intrigued why they did not have an Iranian theme with some ethnic uniqueness to it. Perhaps this is more palatable to the general public. They serve cafe style offerings with some breakfast items, sandwiches and pastries. The owner relayed to me all coffees and teas they serve are organic!! She would also like to expand their menu to include a liquor license. So we shall see what happens then. Coffee is good. Pastries were okay. Pricing is slightly above average. Okay environment to work in if you don't mind the Mediterranean guitar music playing full-blast. Overall, their chairs are more comfortable than usual coffee joints in the hood. May return in future if work with RELAXING music is in the stars.

I ordered a hamburg steak teishoku and my boyfriend ordered the Hamburg steak curry. We were impressed by how the patty was flavorful, meaty, but neither greasy or heavy - signature of how it is in Japan. The curry was flavorful without being overly rich. The side pairings for the teishoku was perfect - a mini salad, side of pickled vegetables, rice, and miso soup. Very well balanced. Overall, super satisfied of this latest find. Comes wrapped in a thin omelette the old school way. They serve it with ketchup. Not much chicken in the chicken rice. Flavour was nice though. The side of hamburg steak was quite soft but flavourful. Did not taste like just beef - I suspect it was a mix of beef and pork. Also had a small side of salad. Overall pretty solid. 4/5. beef curry rice bowl - pretty good, the curry sauce was generous and not too salty. Served with the usual side of pickles. 4/5. Houjicha iced latte. Exactly as it sounds, and pretty good too. Very solid 4/5 overall. Weird location and I suspect they would be much busier with more visibility. There arent many places in town that serve this kind of food so there is opportunity for them to do well. Their food is pretty good, and a good approximation for the stuff you'd get in Japan at those western style chains that are so popular there. IYKYK. Pricing is high-ish but for this area it is not crazy. The beverages are $6-8 and the food runs about $20. I would come back if I had a craving for this type of food.

Pull apart was lighter than I expected. Other place's pull apart was so buttery, cheesy, however, this one was flaky and buttery, so, if you prefer light texture pull apart, you will like it. Cream cheese filling was nice accent. Pistachio loaf was more dense than I expected. It had pistachio whipped cream on top, so, cream helped loaf texture more smooth. Loaf had strong pistachio flavor. I liked whipped cream and loaf combination. Pesto and mozzalera swirl was a bit too salty for me. Dough was super flaky and buttery, I liked the dough texture so much, but filling could be more minder. Unfortunately, I did not have ferrero rocher danish. I heard that this one was the best. Mousse was so delicious and dough was very flaky and buttery. Overall, I think their pastries are always outstanding and good quality. The place was extremely busy and could not get a table. Next time, I wish I could dine-in.
