The fried fish blew me away, it was a fantastic size to share four ways and with the sauce it complimented it perfectly. We have been to their Wellington location many many years ago and the cashew chicken was really memorable for me. Mango salad was ripe but I have had better before. Came here with reservations as always. Really disappointed on how slow their service was. My friend was seated while before I was, and I walked in and saw her so I sat myself down. We were a table of two. We waited about 15 minutes before someone even came around and asked us if we were OK and brought us water. We ordered a beverage and then our server disappeared again for another 15 to 20 minutes and I'm surprised because the establishment was pretty empty. I think there were only another three tables around us. The food was amazing and that's why I give it a three star rating because the chef really threw it down. Even after we got our main meal, no one came around to see if we wanted anything more. They just brought the bill out at that point we asked if we could have another beverage. Ended up here because of asianlicious 2022. We had the $30 special of mango salad, spring rolls & pad Thai. We also got an extra dish of fish pangang. The fish was the best dish, followed by the mango salad. The pad Thai lacked something, we tried fish sauce with chilies, lime, but it was still lacking somehow. The spring rolls I sent back cause they were not hot and when they came back they were only slightly warmer. They are deep fried! They should be too hot to bite when they come out! After my training, my friends and I spontaneously popped by here without reservations around 5pm on a Saturday. We immediately got a table and placed our orders. I had the vegan pad thai, which was very satisfying and fulfilling half way through so I had it packed. I always found it tough to finish Thai food because it is very filling and too much carbs to intake. My friends all enjoyed their food as well and took their half home for later to enjoy. We were killing a little time before a concert, and everything seemed to be closed or closing when we stumbled upon Sukho Thai. We had about 45 minutes to order and eat, which was pretty much perfect. Rather than go with a tried-and-true Thai dish, I figured I'd step out from the familiar and try something a little different, which eventually led me to Nua Gra Teaum ("stir-fried garlic beef w/ a fried egg, sliced cucumber & rice"), and I requested the dish Spicy. It arrived a short time later and the portion size seemed smaller than I expected. (It actually turned out to be more than enough food.) The highlight is, of course, the stir-fried garlic beef, which was pretty much addictive in terms of its tastiness. I want that sauce in my life permanently now. I wasn't as keen on the included hot sauce, which kind of overpowered the rice once I poured it all over. It was a little too sweet (and not quite spicy enough) for my liking. We arrived on a saturday evening around 7PM as a party of four, and the place was packed full. Luckily the wait wasn't too long, and we were seated after about 20 minutes. I was quite impressed by the decor. It was very modern and suited a bustling dining environment. The lighting was also dimmed, and I actually felt like this helped add to the atmosphere Sukho Thai was going for. Dining in a darker room was quite nice! We tried their calamari appetizer and khao soi beef today. The dishes took a while to come out, which is understandable because they're so busy. I felt that the wait between the appetizer and entrees were a bit too long though. The calamari came served on top of some fried rice noodles, with dipping sauce on the side. It was actually surprisingly great; the calamari rings themselves were very soft and tender, and the batter was equally satisfying to chew through. The khao soi beef was also very good. I ordered it spicy and the spiciness was definitely done well. Their curry was rich and flavourful, and went well with the rice noodles. You can tell their beef chunks have been braised for many hours, as they just melted in thai curry goodness when I put them in my mouth. I'll also give extra compliments to their hot sauce: it's chili oil based, and also very delicious! We had a great experience here. The portions for the khao soi overall were very large, and most people can definitely get full off a single bowl. I would definitely recommend Sukho Thai! read more

Quick update, came back for the khao soi and holay...out of this world. The broth was a great consistency. Not too runny or too thick but enough to be like a sauce on rice. Sipping this as a soup would probably fill you up, as it is pretty rich. The noodles were cooked to perfection. Oh and they are very generous with the noodles. The star of the show is definitely the beef. You can tell that the meat has been cooked for hours because it melts in your mouth and is so flavourful. While it is submerged in the curry broth, the beef has a flavour of it's own, and it SHINES. The whole dish is a generous portion and I had enough to feed me the next day. I would definitely say it's on par with Pai's khao soi. read more

I finally got to try this place out! I had been wanting to try it the last time I was in Toronto. I went on a Tuesday night and it was so busy and the waiter said it gets even busier. It's not a super large space but it can accommodate a good crowd of people. They had a variety of dimple options to choose from. I like that the menu wasn't super full of items. My second time here and definitely didn't disappoint. Still so good and not overly expensive. I got a rice dish with a fried egg on the rice with pork? Damn I can't remember lol but it was really good. As a Filipino mixing egg and rice is common in my household. The super flavorful meat was offset with the white rice. I've also had the pad Thai which was done really well. I've had bad pad Thai and this was top tier. Lastly, the Thai iced tea. Have been to Sukho Thai a few times downtown at the Wellington location. Was glad to see that they've ventured out westward! I popped in for a quick dinner since we were craving Thai. We got two curry dishes and spring rolls. Definitely a good choice. We got the gaeng panang and khao soi to share. Both were pretty decent. The khao soi was our favourite of the two but agreed that the gaeng panang was really flavourful too. The chicken in the gaeng panang was so tender and perfectly cooked. Oh yeah, it also comes with rice which really balances the curry out. You can't go wrong with either of these dishes I'd say overall the it was a good dinner and I'll definitely be dining with them again. read more

If you're looking for good thai food I would highly recommend Sukho Thai. Their dish 'Khao Soi' is amazing and flavourful with a strong thai curry and spice flavour. The consistency is good, and the beef was cooked just right (soft and tender) and falls apart right when you bite into it! If you can, take the sauce home and you can use it for many other things. I also recommend the Thai iced tea. Not too creamy and not too sweet. A little bit on the icey side but overall great! The service was good, just a little bit slow when it's a full house (but that's normal compared to any other resto). Overall great experience and accommodated a group of 9 last minute. So kudos to them! TIP: if you're not a spice fanatic get mild. Thai spice is a little bit more spicy than you would expect! So, my first experience with Sukothai was the one on Parliament. It was in a dodgy neighborhood (I would know....I lived there ) and not the place you'd expect to find a really good Thai restaurant, but it was awesome. It raises the bar for all future Thai food experiences, so naturally, I expected the same from the Dundas location. It did not let me down. First off, for dine in (obviously not these days) or delivery (definitely these days), the portions are HUGE. You're building a house and you ran out of bricks? Each portion of the Pad Thai is a more than adequate stand in for that. It's ridiculous. And I gotta say I freaking love it! (Also that would be one delicious house!) You could feed two people with this serving! And I've had it many, many times, so it wasn't a fluke. The other favorites like Khao Soi are also great, as is the remaining curry selection and tofu. I have been to other Sukhothai locations and i've never had any problems with the food or the service. Ordinarily, this is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. However, earlier today I went into this location on Dundas Street. First, the waiter screwed up the order for one of my companions. So, we had to send it back to be redone. Second, they totally forgot my order and when I said never mind, cancel the order, the waiter said that I cannot cancel the order because they've already started the process of making my order. I told him I don't want it anymore and had to talk to the manager and explain myself that I will not pay for food that I did not receive and that I didn't care in what stage of preparation that food is in. The rest of my party in my table have already finished their dinner and are ready to move on! They offered no solution or remedy to the problem Worst service! read more

Got a ritual takeout order here and it was ready when I got there which is a big plus. The space looked cozy and there was already a lot of 25-35 year old types filling the space for lunch. I got the khao soi and it tasted as good as the other Sukho Thai locations. If you haven't had it before it's a yellow curry that comes with egg noodles, crispy noodles, and your choice of beef or chicken. I'm sure veg is an option too. I usually go for the beef. read more

The servers were nice enough so I don't blame them or anything but let's get to it. The food was not as good as the other locations. I don't remember the curry ever being served on a dish so shallow, it made it difficult to scoop the sauce. Pad Thai was standard fare but I noticed it being a bit greasier and finally, the Thai iced tea was straight up bad. Watered down, hardly any flavour. My go-to's here are the green chicken curry, pad Thai with tofu and spring rolls. The medium spice green curry is my favourite. It's huge and fresh yet hot hot hot. I'll never know how exactly they hit both of those notes so well, which is why I'll keep returning. Often imitated, never duplicated. As some other people have noted this place is very popular, so the atmosphere can get a bit overwhelming. If this isn't your jam, take off your pants and pull out your phone. Customer service was great. They were very attentive and friendly Bonus: I was able to watch raptors and cavs play. That being said it can get a little noisy in there We ordered 6 dishes. My favorite was the khan soi with beef. It has a sweet coconutty and spicy flavour, perfect combination. You can't go to an Asian restaurant without ordering fried rice and Thai fried rice with shrimp didn't disappoint. Panang salmon was a little over cook. It was dry but the sauce made up with the dryness of the fish. Veggie rolls was surprisingly good. Veggies were definitely fresh and the peanut paste complimented it well. After frequenting Asia in the early 90s and partaking in Thai food regularly, my standards for Thai food had been set. I became a big Thai food fan through the decade. Over the last 15+ years I have found most Thai food I have had has been disappointing. Perhaps ordering delivery was one of the reasons but I just stopped enjoying it. Until last night. We tried Sukho Thai and loved it. Got there at 5:50 pm on a Friday night and the place was packed which was an excellent sign. And it stayed packed the entire time we were there. Frankly, the quality of food has been in decline but this weekend the meal sucked so bad that it was an insult and it felt foolish to think Sukho Thai would be at their best in the effort to survive. Taste: I ordered the khao soi with beef which was delicious. You can also get it with chicken or tofu. Sad to say that it was my first khao soi dish so I can't really compare it to any others. It was creamy with the perfect amount of spices and coconut milk flavour. There was a generous amount of beef and it was so tender! Loved the crunchy noodles on top because it adds different textures to the dish. The khao soi is must try! I ended the meal off with mango sticky rice. It was nice and rich and the rice was the perfect warm temperature. Service: The service was the only reason why I didn't rate it 5 stars. It wasn't bad, but our server just seemed a little lost overall. When we ordered the mango sticky rice, he wasn't sure if it was available. He did mention that he hadn't worked here in a while... maybe he was just having an off day. Value: Great value for what you get. But I'm sooo glad I did. It was amazing! They gave a lot of tender beef, and the curry was nice and rich. I cannot wait to go back! Too bad they don't make Basil Beef (Pad Kra Pow). The service was great and our waitress was very friendly. Unfortunately, the restaurant was pretty hot that day. There was not enough AC and eating spicy food did not help. An issue I encountered there was my girlfriend and I both asked for our leftovers to be packed up - the male worker was nice enough to offer to pack it for us even though we just asked them for boxes (we both got the Khao Soi). I knew I had more noodles left and she had more curry left. When he handed them back to us, we double checked ourselves, and it was definitely switched by the worker by accident... Also, they charge 18% gratuity since the table had over 8 people. I definitely agree with this and don't mind this at all. Me and my husband decided to go there for our anniversary food was very good the bartender was very friendly he suggested we try the lettuce cups and pad thai also suggest we try the special drink they had that day. This review is based on my recent takeout order. Ordered: -Pad kee mao 1/5 Reason: Bland, lacked flavour and ingredients were not the freshest. Ordered this at Spicy spice level. I've ordered from this location before and found the standards to be lower than the other locations. -Spring Rolls 4/5 These were fine tasted on par. -Casva Cake 4.5/5 Very good dessert and would happily order again. Probably best to avoid take out from this restaurant. On two occasions I was given the wrong curry, didn't bother going back. Today I ordered at 730P, was told the food would take 20-25 min. I showed up at 855. Wasn't able to leave with my food until 812P. The whole point of calling ahead to order was to reduce the wait time in a busy/hectic environment. Finding out while I waiting that a large party was in the basement delaying food orders, understandable, I guess. It's frustrating, by now management should be able to properly manage food flow at busy times. Prices at the restaurant have gone up but the quality and service have been a problem. Pretty good cheap thai food. You get quite a bit for your paying for and the food isn't bad so no complaints there. The atmosphere is quite nice almost like a club/bar situation. The food is flavourful and really filling. Food did take quite a while after we ordered but I can't really complain since it was steaming hot when it arrived to our table. I order takeout from here all the time. It's great! Very consistent. Really though, I wanted to write a review so that I could reply to another review that I completely disagree with. In reply to Lea G's 1 star review about booking a large party: You can't give a restaurant a 1 star review because they asked you to be on time for your reservation. Small restaurants require that the tables be sat more than once in an evening dinner service, so when you make a reservation at 6:00 and the entire party doesn't arrive until 6:30, you are affecting the flow of the entire night, not only for the restaurant staff but for all the other guests as well. This behaviour puts undue stress on the staff to rush your order so that they may accommodate the other group that will be occupying your table later in the evening. Even though you are given a time limit, the staff can't kick you out if you haven't finished your food (and you know this) so you act like you aren't aware of the time limit and the next Group that made a reservation has to wait on you. How would you feel if you were that group? You'd probably write a 1 star review because you were on time for your reservation but had to wait 30 minutes for your table to be ready. You showing up late affects the staff of the restaurant, the other diners both around you and ones that will arrive after you, and lastly you and your guests. If you don't have the experience you were hoping for and you are late for your reservation, you have nobody to blame but yourself. Stop being so entitled and understand that even though restaurants are all about hospitality, it's not their job to accommodate you and your late friends while ignoring the rest of their patrons. Points for: + The veggie fresh rolls. Stuffed with veggies and mango slices and noodles. Excellent thick and creamy peanut sauce for dipping. When I asked, I learned they come with cilantro BUT they are made to order so this can be easily left out. I am one of the unfortunate souls who is genetically predisposed to think cilantro tastes like soap, so I appreciated this detail very much. Not as many points for: + The Massaman curry. I'm sure this would be other people's jam, but it's not my favourite. Just thicker and sweeter than I was expecting. I've only had this dish one other time, from a roadside restaurant in Thailand, and the curry then was a little more spicy and soupy and less like a sauce, which is what its like at Sukho Thai. But again, this might be just what you want from your Massaman. Next time I visit I'm going to check out the classic green curry and the garlic tofu bites because those sound delicious. read more

Great Food. We ordered the Khao Soi with Tofu, Gaeng Garee with Chicken, the Tom Yum Kung soup (which was actually very spicy and we like spice), and an order of fresh shrimp rolls. The food was fantastic and full of flavour. Very filling and creamy dishes. My only con was the peanut sauce that came with my fresh rolls was rather chunky and not the creamy consistency that i enjoy when dipping fresh rolls. Picture this, I'm sitting at home mid-day, mid-week, hungry and waiting for groceries to be delivered and realize I have nothing to eat. Realizing this I now begin the process of vetting the usual suspects for lunch time delivery (Pizza, Chinese, Swiss Chalet, etc). I then decide to check out UberEats and see what I can get delivered to my little corner of the world. Success! Not only do most places deliver to my door courtesy of UberEats but I can get Sukho Thai from their Dundas location. Score! I was under the assumption it would only be 1-2 items available but it ended up being the full menu (or close to it). Knowing how much I enjoyed (and have been craving) the Khao Soi in the past at Khao san Road I went with that. 45 minutes later I met the driver in the lobby of my condo building and took my treasure upstairs. Nice thinking on behalf of the restaurant to keep the curry and beef in a separate container than the cooked noodles and the fried noodles. Upon arrival I merely had to re-assemble (Cooked noodles, curry/beef, topped with fried noodles) and I was having a restaurant quality lunch without having to contend with line ups or even leaving my house - this is the life! My one suggestion (which I made to UberEats already) was that, despite their ebst efforts, my meal was slightly warmer than "luke-warm" and needed a jolt in the microwave. I think a temperature controlled cooler bag might have helped here, rather than the paper bag it was delivered in (looked nice but not practical when it takes 30 minutes to arrive).
