March 26, 2026 - I got the medium spice pad Thai. No complaints here. Pad Thai tasted as per usual pad Thai.
It was such a pleasure celebrating the birthdays of several friends born in July. We had chosen Sukhothai in Markham for our celebration and it turned out to be a great choice. Our meal started with Purple Rain cocktails and some appetizers - Lettuce Cups, Mango Salad, and Grabong (Squash Fritters). They were all great choices! Our mains were Khao Soi with Beef, Pad Gra Prow, Gaeng Kiaw Wan (Green Curry with Chicken), Sukhothai Pad Thai with Chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious, with great flavours. Our wonderful meal concluded with Mango Sticky Rice and a cheesecake that we brought. We enjoyed all the food and great service. There were more birthday babies that weren't able to join us but we can always plan for next year! If you were born in July, let us know and we'll plan something BIG for next year!
A bunch of us foodie friends have birthdays in July. We wanted to get together to celebrate and enjoy some food. We gathered at Sukhothai for a feast filled with laughter and memories. Drink of the Day: Purple Rain Mango Salad Lettuce Wraps Grabong (Squash Fritters) Gaeng Kiaw Wan (Green Curry) Beef Khai Soi Chicken Pad Thai Chicken Pad Gra Pow We ordered a few different dishes and shared amongst our group. I'm normally not a fan of green curry and prefer red, but theirs was delicious; Creamy and flavorful. The Khao Soi was so good. I slurped up every last bit of sauce / gravy The lettuce wraps were delicious. Six to a plate which was perfect for our group! The squash Fritters actually surprised me. The perfect combination of softness and crunchy. The tamarind sauce paired well. We were all pretty full but ordered a mango sticky rice and shared for dessert. Staff were great and food didn't take too long to prepare.
Visited Sukhothai in Markham for dinner with a group of 6. The space is trendy and nicely styled. Parking was easy. Service, however, was quite slow and felt lacking, which stood out more because they automatically add an 18% autogratuity for groups of 6. I don't mind that when service is strong, but that wasn't the case here. I had the Khao Soi with braised beef (add +$1). The broth was creamy and flavorful, and the beef was very tender and soft. But the portion felt small for the price, and the food didn't come out hot, which took away from the experience. We also ordered a few other dishes: Sukhothai Pad Thai with beef (mild): decent overall Fresh Rolls with beef (add +$1): flavorful with a surprising kick Braised Beef (add +$1) Masaman Curry: Thick sauce, potato, and your protein of choice. It was quite rich, but tasty. There is not enough rice to balance it out. It would also go better with a few lighter side dishes. I like that you can choose your spice level for most dishes, but overall, the experience didn't leave a strong impression. The small portion of food took over 30 minutes to come out, and with the high gratuity, I expected better service. With so many other Thai spots nearby that are more affordable and consistent, I'm not in a rush to return.
I recently had the pleasure of going to Sukho Thai in Markham as part of a work team lunch. I've been to the one in Toronto, so I generally knew what to expect in terms of food. My usual go-to is the Khao Sai with beef, however given Sukho Thai's portions are quite large, I opted to go with their cashew chicken. It came with a bowl of rice and LOT of chicken! I was pleasantly surprised with the taste. It had a perfect balance of spice and taste. The interior was quite nice as well. Personally I like the ambiance of the Toronto location more, however I do like this one as well. Overall the service was great as well. The food came out in a timely manner and the waiter was incredibly nice. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great Thai restaurant!
We were seated immediately on a Saturday around 2 PM. It wasn't until we sat down and saw that menu that there is an autogratuity of the 18% which is rather steep. Larger parties are subjected to an autogratuity of 20%. We ordered several dishes: fresh roll beef, pad kee mao, Khao soi, pad thai, and Masaman curry with beef. Overall, the food was alright if you're really craving Thai food. I didn't think there was anything special about their dishes. About 25 mins after we had ordered, the server came back to confirm that we knew that pad kee mao was made with the thicker rice noodles. I was confused because why would they not have checked with us when we first ordered? It took ~30 mins to get our food and we watched other tables that ordered later than us, get their dishes first. I probably wouldn't come back any time soon. I'd rather try another Thai restaurant.
Always been consistently good. Been here a few times. Good service. Great food. Convenient location. I have nothing but compliments
Suko Thai is definitely a great option for a night out to eat some Thai food! It has some great flavours, but have definitely tried some better Thai food in the city. The space is great with really nice decor. A good place for a fun night with friends for some good food. 7/10 recommend!
Was super excited to see this spot open up in Markham! I've visited the Front St location before but having it so close to home is great. Sukho Thai is a delicious spot with all your traditional thai fare. While you can't go wrong with their pad thai as it comes in a heaping portion and tastes delicious, the show stopper at this restaurant is the panang curry with beef. I dream about this dish at times, that's how good it is. They also have a lot of yummy desserts - my fav is the mango sticky rice. The ube cassava is good too, but the ube flavour is not that strong so it tastes more like regular cassava. Trust me, you neeeeed to go here for the panang curry!
During the pandemic, I craved Thai food. There were a handful of Thai eateries that I had tried around me. The one that I liked was in my neighbourhood, within walking distance, which has been my go-to Thai place. Well, I now have two. An in-person Yelp feast happened at Sukho Thai a couple of weeks ago. I had never been to this restaurant. It's in my neighbourhood, within walking distance. It is where Day and Night Angus Steakhouse was for many years. I got to sample the following drink and starters during the feast: - Limeade - It was purple thanks to pea flower powder in it. I loved it. It had a touch of sweetness, but with the tang and tartness of lime. - Shrimp chips with tamarind, and sweet and spicy dipping sauces - The shrimp chips were crispy and thicker than regular potato chips. The tamarind sauce was tangy and a touch sweet. The sweet and spicy sauce had a nice kick to it. - Mango salad - Yum! The mango wasn't overly sweet. It was on a crispy, thin rice chip. It was refreshing. - Spring rolls - Delicious, veggie, and crispy. - Zucchini fritters - Although I'm not a squash person, if you fry zucchini fritters, I will eat them. They were delicious with the right amount of salt. - Tom yum soup - It had a lot of perfectly cooked veggies. The broth was light and tangy. The mains came out next: - Pad thai - Outstanding. You mix chopped peanuts in. I particularly liked the green onions, chicken, and bean sprouts with the rice noodles and fabulous sauce that coated everything. - Green curry with veggies - Yummy! It was flavourful with coconut milk as the base. The veggies were delicious. - Red curry with chicken - It also had coconut milk. Fantastic! The chicken was tender. I loved both curry sauces that I poured them on my steamed rice! We got dessert: - Coconut pandan gelato - It was melting fast, so I had it first. It was creamy with a slight hint of pandan. The coconut flavour was more present. It was yummy. - Cassava coconut - The cassava coconut had some chopped nuts in it. It had a jello-like consistency to it. I loved the shredded coconut around each cube. The dessert didn't have a whole lot of flavour and wasn't sweet. I ended up dipping it into my melted gelato, which made these cubes fabulous to enjoy. In short, everything was yummy. I returned the next day to pick up a small tub of gelato. I had no problem finding a parking spot in this plaza. I backed into a spot and walked in. I waited at the frost counter. It was a busy night. I had a cheerful woman take my order. I asked her what flavours of gelato she had. The coconut pandan one was available. She also said thai milk tea; and mango, coconut, and lime. I went with the latter. All gelato flavours are by Death in Venice Gelato Co. It runs a bit high at $12 for a small tub. However, it's worth it. It's vegan and you really can't tell that it is. She entered my name and phone number in the system. I paid with a credit card. I tapped my card and the transaction was completed. She went into the kitchen to get my tub of gelato. She came back with it and placed it in a paper bag. I thanked her and left the eatery, excited to have dessert after dinner. The mango, coconut, and lime gelato was excellent. It was tropical heaven with every creamy spoonful that I devoured. It was creamy with a lot of flavour. It was slightly sweet. It's so worth shelling out for quality gelato without any dairy. I still need to go back and order dinner from this place. I am content returning for gelato, knowing that I like everything that I have devoured from this eatery so far. (213)
Sukhothai is owned by the same people behind Pai, so I went in with high expectations, and I wasn't disappointed. The inside is really nicely decorated and I felt like I was transported to the streets of Thailand. I'd highly recommend making reservations in advance as it was a full house when we came late on a Saturday night. I really liked the Thai milk tea, it was tasty and not too sweet. Another highlight was the chicken wing appetizer, I liked the spicy and sour sauces as well as the light and crispy chicken skin. My friend and I got the chicken Khao Soi and Nua Gra Teaum. Both dishes were tasty with generous portions. Service was friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. It's great to have Sukhothai as a solid Thai option in Markham and I look forward to coming back, especially to see their pretty patio setup in the summer.
Good ambiance and good food. It's located in a small plaza with ample of parking spots. Came here with my parents and brother and had a good dinner. Servers were all polite and attentive throughout the dinner. We ordered the beef khao soi, Thai fried rice chicken, grabong, crispy tofu and curry rice. Each dish was good. The only dish I did somewhat felt like it lacked some taste was the khao soi than most Thai restaurants I've tried however nonetheless the portion size were generous and had lots of chunks of beef brisket. Overall enjoyed dinner here and would come again.
The decor of this place was very uplifting, bright colours and tropical at the same time. The food came out hot. You can choose your spice level for most dishes. The servers were friendly. They have a drink menu/special daily from Sunday to Thursday, Friday and Saturday don't have a drink special. I have been here is the past and quality seems to be the same. The food has its spicy, sour, salty and sweet flavours. The restaurant is located in a plaza and has lots of parking.
TLDR - Interesting but not memorable food. A-OK for group gathering. In typical Yelp style, we chose to dine at Sukho Thai out of curiousity. An isolated Thai resto, a packed parking lot, and we had never been, why not? First off with a welcoming greeting and a nice decor. The seating was a bit too close among tables. Foodwise, we ordered a Lettuce Cups appetizer, a Lemongrass Fish (came with rice), and a Masaman Curry (came with rice). The Lettuce Cups was a simple nevertheless refreshing appetizer. A decent sharable. The Masaman Curry was not the same as I had at various Thai restos. Maybe it was just me, so neutral verdict. The Lemongrass Fish was a let down. The breaded shell was tasteless. The accompanying Thai fish sauce saved the day. The fish filet inside the crust was tender. Sukho Thai has nice ambiance for gathering. But the food won't be why I return. read more

Always been a fan of Sukhothai from my downtown days! Happy to see it open up in Markham. The restaurant is clean/nicely decorated and has nice patio area. Food and service was great. Pad thai and khao soi were good as per usual. Biggest surprise of the night for me was the thai iced tea creme brulee. Tad sweet for me but soooo good nonetheless. Excited to come back for food next time I am craving thai! read more
This new location has opened a little over a week. Used to be the Day and Night restaurant. Location is easily accessible by car and public transit. I like how they have a large outdoor patio seating as well as indoor seating. The service was a little slow but they've only opened for a week so that's completely understandable. The food was overall average, I enjoyed their Pad Thai the most. I also enjoyed the details of the decor and overall atmosphere. read more

We got a table for 4 at 7pm on a Tuesday and ordered at 7:15pm. No food came out until 8:25pm. I needed to leave and didn't have time to dine in anymore after realizing the situation so I asked if they can prepare my order for take out instead. They claim to "rush order" mine but it still ended up taking another 20mins for it to come out after I paid the bill. Meaning they didn't even start our order until an hour after taking our order and my friends food would come even later. There was a kids birthday party and all the tables were empty inside but reserved so we sat outside. I don't understand why service was so slow when majority of tables were empty. The pad Thai was over cooked. Noodles were all broken, not a single strand of noodle was intact. I got the Thai spicy with chicken. Would not order again it's not worth it. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my friends food but they were all so disappointed they ended up leaving NO tip and the restaurant ended up comping one of the meals. Thai ice tea was extremely sweet, would recommend asking for less sugar. The staff was nice but didn't make sense why they had lots of staff but no food was coming out of that kitchen. read more
Went in a group of 4 on a Saturday around 6pm and we were able to get a spot on the patio right away, I'd recommend reserving though as it got busy quickly. I tried the Pad Thai (with chicken), the Gaeng Kiaw Wan (Green Curry with beef), and a thai iced tea. The curry flavours were nice and sweet, though the beef was severely overcooked as well as the bamboo shoots (very disappointing). The noodles in the pad thai were a bit overcooked, tasty but not as satisfying. The thai iced tea was good although a bit too sweet. Overall, I don't think I'd come back for the pad thai. read more

The Khao Soi came in a golden yellow curry soup base and we picked beef as the protein. The crispy egg noodles that came on the side was delicious soaking up the soup base. A few Thai curry options to pick from and we went with the panang curry with chicken. Super flavourful, personally think it's a must try. Pictures not taken are the spiked Thai milk tea and Ube cassava. Can't go wrong if you enjoy Thai milk tea with a boozy kick! Also recommend. Everything was great. read more

Frequently visited the downtown locations prior to COVID, but over the last few years our go to spot was Jatujak. When we saw this spot opened in Markham, we decided to try it again. Came by on a Saturday around 7 pm and were told it would be a 40 min wait. After this, we were seated and the decor and ambiance is quite nice. The servers were quick and efficient. The food is incredible. Some of the best Thai I've had so far - especially the pad Thai. No fake ketchup flavours here. The garlic beef was also great. Usually I find beef at Thai places to be tough and chewy - this was sooooo tender and flavourful. The khao soi was also quite good but nothing outstanding. I think this will be our go to going forward. read more

Halal It just as good as the locations in toronto. So happy to have it more locally. Good Pad Thai and Khao Soi. I really loved the outdoor patio even if your view is a parking lot LOL it was still really awesome. I would definitely return or even get the food to go. read more

this is my first time trying a sukho thai location since it's closer to me uptown! we were a party of 5 seated on the patio around the time they first opened. the service was friendly but of course they are still new so the food took a little longer than usual. the flavours were delicious but definitely on the sweeter side than spicy in comparison to other thai places. surprisingly, one of my favourite dishes of the night was the fried pla taud! it was crispy, meaty, and fresh which is all i could ever ask for in cooked fish. the pad gra pao was also aromatic & flavorful, another hit for me. I would definitely come back here whenever i'm craving some thai near me! on our menu: - pad gra pao* - pad kee mao - tom yum soup - pla taud with mango salad* - khan soi* read more
This Uber Popular Toronto establishment has finally made its long anticipated Grand Opening in Suburbia on the Scarborough/Markahm border along Steeles E. between Midland & Brimely. Uber friendly and attentive service with a welcoming & relaxed ambiance the moment you enter. Enjoy the weather, day or night, and dine on their Killer patio. It will only make their exceptional and world-renowned Thai cuisine, or any of their specialty cocktails/mixed drinks, that much more amazing! The Perfect place to meet with friends, family or colleagues for lunch, in the evening after work or for dinner any day of the week. You can thank me later lol!! Enjoy read more
Ordered the wings, pad kra pao (minced chicken with holy basil) and pad thai. Wings were crispy and well marinated - some reviews said flavour was lacking but I didn't think so. It also came with a cucumber vinaigrette dipping sauce but there was more bell pepper in it than cucumber. The pad kra pao had a lot of wok hay. Wasn't too saucy, a bit skimpy on the basil though. Pad thai was decent overall but a bit too sweet. Wanted to try the sticky mango rice but they didn't have it :(. Service was fast and polite. read more
Suggest making reservations. Nice setting. Not too loud. Servers came frequently. After we ordered the food arrived quickly. I think the flavour and food quality is better at Pai restaurant in downtown. Mango margherita is their popular drink and it was worth trying! It's a blend of flavours that go together so well! Shrimp chip with dip is a must! Satay chicken was a bit dry. Calamari, chicken wings and the spring rolls were good. Chicken fried rice and chicken pad thai were plain and mediocre. The sticky rice with mango was the best part of dinner! Thai ice cream was ok but not my favourite. You get a small tub so it's good for sharing. A little disappointed with the quality of the food. read more

Heard good things about this restaurant. Came on a Sunday during the evening and we were seated immediately. It's pretty loud in the restaurant. We ordered: chicken skewers, chicken wings, tom yum kung, nua gra treum, khao soi, thai fried rice, and the sukho pad thai. The chicken skewers come with four skewers, it's pretty big and has a strong lemongrass and sour taste. It came with peanut sauce which tasted good. The chicken wings were very normal-tasting. The tom yum kung was ordered by my aunt, so I'm not too sure how it was, but she said it was sour and good. The nua ga treum was also okay, the beef tasted similar to Vietnamese shaking beef. The egg that came with it was rather small. The khao soi was pretty good, albeit the chicken was a bit hard. For me who has a sensitive tongue, mild is still spicy, but everyone else at my table said it wasn't. The thai fried rice was also pretty normal, the sauce that came with it tasted good. The beef in the fried rice however was kind of chewy and felt overcooked. The sukho padthai was pretty okay as well, a bit overly sweet. The portion size for the khao soi and nua ga treum was pretty small but everything else was huge. Our server was gone for quite a while and we had to ask for water a few times. I feel bad that there were only two girls that seemed to be working. Overall, probably would not go again as it is kind of pricy and the food was just okay. read more

So happy to have Sukothai open a branch of their restaurants in the area. The food was perfect and probably the best Thai food in the area. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao, it was superb! The noodles were not soggy, wet, overly saucy, or broken up. Portion was decent with enough meat and vegetables in the stir fry. The Nua Gra Teaum was great as well, delicious tender beef slices. Our server was Jospehine. She was really friendly, attentive, and kept our water filled with a smile. She also explained how they would be able to accommodate for peanut allergies which we were relieved to hear as one of our kids has that. Definatley coming back here more often! read more
