Wife and I were looking forward to a nice night out dinner at sukho and was very disappointed to be basically turned away stating they are too busy. We can clearly see tables available but the staff too lazy to clean. Basically told us it would be an hour wait. For two people they cannot squeeze a table is a bit hard to believe. Even if there are reservations, clearly they have not even arrived. Anyway just super disappointed at the lack of effort by this place. I came here before for a Yelp event and met the owners, who were super warm and welcoming, so very hard to believe this is how they treat their guests. This new location has opened a little over a week. Used to be the Day and Night restaurant. Location is easily accessible by car and public transit. I like how they have a large outdoor patio seating as well as indoor seating. The service was a little slow but they've only opened for a week so that's completely understandable. We got a table for 4 at 7pm on a Tuesday and ordered at 7:15pm. No food came out until 8:25pm. I needed to leave and didn't have time to dine in anymore after realizing the situation so I asked if they can prepare my order for take out instead. They claim to "rush order" mine but it still ended up taking another 20mins for it to come out after I paid the bill. Meaning they didn't even start our order until an hour after taking our order and my friends food would come even later. There was a kids birthday party and all the tables were empty inside but reserved so we sat outside. I don't understand why service was so slow when majority of tables were empty. The pad Thai was over cooked. Noodles were all broken, not a single strand of noodle was intact. I got the Thai spicy with chicken. Would not order again it's not worth it. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my friends food but they were all so disappointed they ended up leaving NO tip and the restaurant ended up comping one of the meals. Went in a group of 4 on a Saturday around 6pm and we were able to get a spot on the patio right away, I'd recommend reserving though as it got busy quickly. I tried the Pad Thai (with chicken), the Gaeng Kiaw Wan (Green Curry with beef), and a thai iced tea. The curry flavours were nice and sweet, though the beef was severely overcooked as well as the bamboo shoots (very disappointing). The noodles in the pad thai were a bit overcooked, tasty but not as satisfying. The thai iced tea was good although a bit too sweet. Overall, I don't think I'd come back for the pad thai. read more

The Khao Soi came in a golden yellow curry soup base and we picked beef as the protein. The crispy egg noodles that came on the side was delicious soaking up the soup base. A few Thai curry options to pick from and we went with the panang curry with chicken. Super flavourful, personally think it's a must try. Frequently visited the downtown locations prior to COVID, but over the last few years our go to spot was Jatujak. When we saw this spot opened in Markham, we decided to try it again. Came by on a Saturday around 7 pm and were told it would be a 40 min wait. After this, we were seated and the decor and ambiance is quite nice. The servers were quick and efficient. The food is incredible. Some of the best Thai I've had so far - especially the pad Thai. No fake ketchup flavours here. The garlic beef was also great. Usually I find beef at Thai places to be tough and chewy - this was sooooo tender and flavourful. The khao soi was also quite good but nothing outstanding. Halal It just as good as the locations in toronto. So happy to have it more locally. Good Pad Thai and Khao Soi. I really loved the outdoor patio even if your view is a parking lot LOL it was still really awesome. I would definitely return or even get the food to go. read more

this is my first time trying a sukho thai location since it's closer to me uptown! we were a party of 5 seated on the patio around the time they first opened. the service was friendly but of course they are still new so the food took a little longer than usual. the flavours were delicious but definitely on the sweeter side than spicy in comparison to other thai places. surprisingly, one of my favourite dishes of the night was the fried pla taud! it was crispy, meaty, and fresh which is all i could ever ask for in cooked fish. the pad gra pao was also aromatic & flavorful, another hit for me. I think the flavour and food quality is better at Pai restaurant in downtown. Mango margherita is their popular drink and it was worth trying! It's a blend of flavours that go together so well! Shrimp chip with dip is a must! Satay chicken was a bit dry. Calamari, chicken wings and the spring rolls were good. Chicken fried rice and chicken pad thai were plain and mediocre. The sticky rice with mango was the best part of dinner! Thai ice cream was ok but not my favourite. You get a small tub so it's good for sharing. Ordered the wings, pad kra pao (minced chicken with holy basil) and pad thai. Wings were crispy and well marinated - some reviews said flavour was lacking but I didn't think so. It also came with a cucumber vinaigrette dipping sauce but there was more bell pepper in it than cucumber. The pad kra pao had a lot of wok hay. Wasn't too saucy, a bit skimpy on the basil though. I'm a huge fan of Chef Nui Regular's restaurants so I was very excited to hear that they've opened up a restaurant near home. Now, I know that while the recipes are the same, the in-house cooks/chefs aren't. It may have been an off day, too, so I'll give them that. I'll still be coming back though. Shrimp Chips - Great snack to have when you're waiting for your party. Was also quite a generous portion for its price which was $7. 5/5 especially when dipped in the tamarind sauce. Calamari - If you love calamari, this is definitely a must-try. Perfectly fried and seasoned. 5/5. Nua Gra Teaum (Garlic Beef) - Not at all garlicy. That and also the beef was quite dry and not very tender. This was actually quite disappointing. 2.5/5. Mango Sticky Rice - Took a small bite of my friend's and it was delicious. I can see why it's a crowd favourite. While the amount of mango can be a bit more generous, it was a good sized dessert. Heard good things about this restaurant. Came on a Sunday during the evening and we were seated immediately. It's pretty loud in the restaurant. We ordered: chicken skewers, chicken wings, tom yum kung, nua gra treum, khao soi, thai fried rice, and the sukho pad thai. The chicken skewers come with four skewers, it's pretty big and has a strong lemongrass and sour taste. It came with peanut sauce which tasted good. The chicken wings were very normal-tasting. The tom yum kung was ordered by my aunt, so I'm not too sure how it was, but she said it was sour and good. The nua ga treum was also okay, the beef tasted similar to Vietnamese shaking beef. The egg that came with it was rather small. The khao soi was pretty good, albeit the chicken was a bit hard. For me who has a sensitive tongue, mild is still spicy, but everyone else at my table said it wasn't. The thai fried rice was also pretty normal, the sauce that came with it tasted good. The beef in the fried rice however was kind of chewy and felt overcooked. The sukho padthai was pretty okay as well, a bit overly sweet. The portion size for the khao soi and nua ga treum was pretty small but everything else was huge. Our server was gone for quite a while and we had to ask for water a few times. I was actually excited to come here when I saw it open closer to home. Unfortunately, it was very misplaced. The service was horrible. We were seated on an uncleaned table. Which I overlooked. The server did not bring a menu for over 15 mins with me waving at every server that came by. There was no water brought over. The most unfortunate part. It wasn't just my table. The tables around me were equally frustrated looking. When they finally got a menu for me, the menu was blurry. We put an order, and the food took forever to come. The appetizer came after we finished the mains. Despite the server telling us the appetizer was right behind the main when they brought it out to us. I had to ask them three times before they brought out the appetizer. The food was not bad, but overall was ruined by the treatment. I spent another 10+ mins trying to flag someone down to pay. Absolutely the worst experience. Would never come again. read more

So happy to have Sukothai open a branch of their restaurants in the area. The food was perfect and probably the best Thai food in the area. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao, it was superb! The noodles were not soggy, wet, overly saucy, or broken up. Portion was decent with enough meat and vegetables in the stir fry. The Nua Gra Teaum was great as well, delicious tender beef slices. Our server was Jospehine. She was really friendly, attentive, and kept our water filled with a smile. It's great that the owner of the downtown front and yonge location has decided to open up another Sukho Thai in Markham so that the same delicious and authentic recipes can be accessible up town. A family of 4 first time here ordered Khao Soi mild with beef, Pad Thai mild with chicken, Pal Taud and crispy spring rolls. The owner and waitresses were very attentive throughout the experience offering additional dishes for shareable items to taking time to chat with us to ensure we enjoyed our orders and stay there. The dishes all came out fairly fast but not same time so it gives patrons time to enjoy the relaxing and quiet atmosphere. All the dishes were delicious and very authentic tasting and good value for the portion and quality. Amazing little restaurant with a great patio. Decided to try this place out after wanting some Thai food. Ordered the pad Thai and green curry with rice. The pad Thai was amazing with a good mix of meat, tofu, egg, noodles and bean sprouts. We ordered medium spicy and it was super spicy so if you are spice aversive stick with mild. The green curry was fresh and delicious. It came with bamboo shoots, peppers, basil and your choice of meat. The beef green curry was delicious and tender it was the first dish that was finished in no time. Overall the service, ambience and food was amazing and the portions are decent. I was very excited to try this restaurant since I never got the chance to try their other locations downtown. The service was good and our food arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, the food is very mediocre. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and I was initially shocked to see that they had used thinner noodles instead of the thicker ones. It's probably not a big deal and it's possible that different restaurants choose to use different variations of noodles. However, the noodles severely lacked in flavour. It was very bland tasting and far from what a typical Pad Kee Mao should taste like. A few bites in and I refused to finish the rest of my meal.
