Tip: Cash and debit cards only. On my last day of vacation, I took my time heading back to Markham from Oakville. I needed something to eat. It was my second meal of the day at nearly 5 pm, as I started my day late. I had been meaning to visit this Linh Anh restaurant that is across from CF Markville Mall. I decided to grab some grub here before heading home. There was lots of parking when I got here. I backed into a spot and walked in. A male staffer was heading into the eatery when I was. It was cool, as he held the doors open (there are two sets) and then sat me down at a table near the front counter. Double Lucky Seafood Cuisine was in this spot before Linh Anh took it over. Not so lucky or doubly lucky for that former restaurant! The interior is stunning! I'd come here just to relax under trees with pink flowers and admire the old turntable. I got a couple of laminated menus. I also got a piece of paper with my table number written on it. The idea is that you write down your order on the piece of paper. I got these items: - Squeezed lime drink with ice - Grilled chicken vermicelli with a spring roll A pitcher of cold tea and a cup arrived. I was happy that it was chilled tea. It was such a hot day that drinking hot tea wouldn't have made me a happy camper. My squeezed lime drink with ice was brought to my table. I loved it so much. The lime was slightly tart and it had lime bits in it. It was icy cold, which I appreciated. It was excellent. I'd order it again. My grilled chicken vermicelli with a spring roll came out next. Thank goodness I didn't order any appetizers because this bowl of deliciousness was massive! I had my crispy spring roll first, which was packed with shrimp, pork, and veggies. I dipped it in the sauce. So tasty! I ended up pouring all the sauce onto everything in my bowl and mixing it up. The mixing took some time because I had to eat some of the grilled chicken to be able to mix. The chicken was flavourful, juicy, and yummy. It was a generous portion. The veggies were fresh and crispy. I got a generous amount of vermicelli, which was perfectly cooked. I loved this meal so much. I'd get it again. I paid at the counter once I was done eating. This place only accepts cash and debit cards. The man at the counter asked how I'd like to pay. I said debit card. He thanked me, which was a response that I didn't anticipate. Maybe he was expecting me to say credit card, which is normally how I tend to pay for everything. I tipped and tapped. Done! I got candy before I headed to use the washroom. Went for lunch today as a group of 5 adults & 4 toddlers. Just due to timing, initially we only got seated at one table before the table next to us freed up to be combined, which worked out since a couple of the kids were napping in the car. Only cold tea was brought out first for the adults, so we did need to ask for water and cups for the kids. After ordering, dishes came out very staggered apart. First the pho dishes, then some appetizers, main dish, another main dish, and then much later, the remaining main dishes, and last appetizer. Unluckily, mine was brought out last so I kind of lost my appetite by then and I'm a slow eater as well so only had a few bites by the time everyone else in group had already finished eating. Since it was a holiday, it was pretty busy and they only had 3 servers taking orders and expediting food, so understandably service was on the slower side. I haven't been to Linh Anh in a while, and the food quality seems to have dropped noticeably. Overall, it is just average now. The curry beef brisket with baguette was decent, but the chicken wings were disappointing. The portion was shockingly small with only four tiny pieces! One of them was even cut in half, which made the whole order look sloppy and feel like a rip-off. I was really disappointed compared to my last visit. The only positive was the server, who was still friendly and attentive as usual. Based on this experience, I'm not sure I will return. read more

We came to Linh Anh because they're open late till 11 pm, which is super convenient. The place is pretty spacious inside and I really like the retro décor -- feels like eating in someone's old family home with antiques everywhere. I always order Banh Cuon whenever I see it on a menu, and theirs is worth the 15‑minute wait since they make it fresh. Really good. I also tried the Banh Da Cua Hai Phong (red noodles with crabmeat). Lots of toppings and the broth was sour and savory in a really refreshing way. Definitely woke up my taste buds. Service is quick and to the point, which is what I expect from a Vietnamese noodle spot. I'll be back to try more dishes. read more

Linh Anh is our go to when we're craving rich authentic pho especially for their bone marrow pho! When we went recently, I was a little shocked that it came with 2 pieces of bone marrow but the server confirmed that since they're smaller, they gave 2. I thought that was really nice of them. My husband and I can usually get away with just sharing the pho and rolls, which are always consistently good. The unionville location is much bigger than Scarborough so I'm glad they opened this second location. It's also always nice to look around their decor which always remind me of our Asian grandparents' house back then. read more

This was our 2nd time here for lunch. And this time we came with my parents in law. We got some spring rolls as appetizer. It was deep fried spring rolls that there were shrimp, pork and some veggies inside. The sauce was pretty special and tasty. Each of us had a bowl of noodle soup. I was still like my Beef Bone noodle soup. There was a big bone there. I love it so much. Another one just a regular Beef noodle soup. My husband liked Bun Bo Hue, which using Hue sausage with a little bit spicy soup. I don't want any spicy today. My father in law liked the Tomato Crab Base Soup. The staff were nice to us. So now I've been to all 3 Linh Anh locations and this location matches evenly with the other 2. Thus the 4 stars. First off, the decor inside is splendid. It has a nice take me back to Vietnam rustic decor. Very nice. On this visit I ordered their 1. Chicken and pork chop on broken rice. It was a nice surprise to have a little salad on the plate as the lettuce and veggies were very crisp and beyond fresh (look at the picture) I was disappointed in the quality of the chicken and pork chop though. It seems they might have cut back on the quality of the meats because of the costs maybe? We'll call it quality deflation. Round 2 - Good but expensive means this is more of a treat than a casual meal. Nonetheless it's quality holds up to my previous visit. Beef ribs and chicken steak rice - Lots of rice for the portion of chicken and beef. Beef was okay, wish there was more grill and charred flavour. The chicken was absolutely amazing; good flavour and well cooked. Would get the chicken again, but maybe change the beef to pork. Steam rice roll with pork - Something rare in the viet space. We had the rare beef rib with beef balls and beef brisket large and we had the chicken wings, it was definitely on the pricier side, the noodles were cooked to perfection, the beef was tender and the tripe and the beef balls were delicious, the bone marrow was really tasty if you mix that with the pho broth it transforms the flavor. The service was really good the staff were attentive and friendly, they only take cash and debit, the chicken wings were delicious had a nice sweet flavour, and the ambiance was nice it felt like I was in Vietnam. On our way back from a road trip, we stopped in at Linh Anh Vietnamese Cuisine's new restaurant in Markham, located at Hwy 7 and McCowan. It's a lot more spacious than their Scarborough location, with similar but nicer decor. The Beef Banana Blossom Salad with shrimp chips was so delicious. It had a lot of ingredients that worked perfectly well together. The chips provided a nice textural contrast. The Bún bò Huế was a huge bowl of deliciousness. It was packed with tons of ingredients and flavour, all in a rich broth. Our third dish - Banh Cuaon Dac Biet Nhan Thist Tom,Cha Muc, Cha Chien, Thit Heo Nuong - had many components. This is a chef's special that includes steamed rice rolls, fried squid cakes, Vietnamese pork sausages, and grilled pork. It was a great combination of flavours and textures. Deeelicious! Loved their Scarborough location, but I feel like this location can use some more updates to their food - it just wasn't as flavourful as I remembered. Starting off with their ambiance, it's beautiful inside with lots of nice decor items and florals. The space is huge and a great location in Markham, just right across from Markville Mall. Came here two times already, once for lunch and once for dinner. Lots of hit or miss items imo, here goes: P03, Pho Dac Biet - House Special Pho 3/5 - Lacked some umami flavour and there was no wow factor to this. N01, Banh Cuon Dac Biet Nhan Thit Tom 5/5 - Loved this dish as a sharable appie. Thought it was super flavourful and packed with a variety of meats to go with the rice rolls. V05, Bun Nem Cua Be 5/5 - Like a dip noodles with a square fried crab spring roll and grilled pork. This was great and packed with flavour S08, Bun Bo Hue 3/5 - It was okay, lacked flavour and could have been better. Portions are okay as well S01, Bun Ca Ha Phong 3.5/5 - Wasn't my favourite as I don't necessarily love the dill soup. But others dining with me quite enjoyed it. S10, Bun rieu Cua 3/5 - This was quite oily on the top and again lacked a lot of in depth flavour. This was quite disappointing as I feel like I could make better bun rieu at home and usually this is a top favourite of mine. V02, Bun Ga Nuong 2/5 - The most disappointing dish of them all. I thought the grilled chicken was kind of soggy and soft. It didn't pair well with the rest of the noodles and fish sauce. This definitely needs an update. Overall, a lot of hit or miss dishes. I probably won't be getting their vermicelli bowl again, but will absolutely be back for their rice roll dish that I loved. read more

This place I ordered through doordash and it's the Unionville location. I know they have a new location in Richmond Hill at Time Square where the hotpot Ushi Shabu Shabu was located so that place is a lot bigger with more seats for sure. This place I'm not sure since I just got it through delivery. The food didn't take long to prepare and get to me at all. It was packed well in one big white bag. I didnt take a picture of the chicken and rice dish we ordered but I would say overall this place is a 4/5 this time I first tried this Viet restaurant. The chicken was nice and crispy, chicken broth was really good, chicken is deboned well. The spring rolls actually have shrimp chunks in it compared to any other viet restaurants I've been to. The only downside why I took away 1 star is that the spring rolls were very oily, it splashed on my face and table when I took a bite. Also the chicken and rice dish had too much veggies and not enough chicken. We had PH03, House Special Pho, pho beef noodle soup with all meat (3/5) and a Vermicelli Salad bowl with grilled pork and spring roll (4/5). Personally, I prefer the beef pho soup broth served piping hot which it was not, and it was missing a flavour depth. I would not recommend the Pho. I would like to return to try some of their other menu items, no Pho! Plenty of parking right outside the restaurant and in the parking plaza. I've tried the one in Scarborough and I'm glad they opened one up in Markham right across from Markville - love the location! I came with a friend to have lunch on a weekday and it wasn't overly busy. I loved the interior design with all the vases on the walls. The decor was beautiful, created a very welcoming and cozy vibe. I ordered a bun ga nuong, cha gio which is grilled chicken and spring rolls with vermicelli. This is usually my go to dish at a Vietnamese restaurant and at this place it certainly didn't disappoint. I loved it. However, my friend ordered the house special pho. She specifically requested no beef balls because she's allergic to the oil that's used for making it. She had it written down on the paper that's used for ordering and the waitress was fully aware but they still gave her beef balls which was unacceptable. I've been anticipating the opening of this location since this past winter & am so glad it finally did! My hubby and I went yesterday right after I finished work. It was around 5:15 p.m. on a Monday so we had plenty of tables to choose from. My hubby ordered the Bo Bit Tet w/eggs which is essentially steak (Vietnamese style) and eggs in a sizzling cast iron pan that comes with pate & a Vietnamese baguette. The steak & eggs was delicious! He said that he didn't really care for the pate & the baguette was over toasted so the entire thing was hard/crunchy. Also, the pan isn't sizzling which is a good thing so the steak doesn't get overcooked. I tried something new and got their Vietnamese red noodle soup with crab meat. It also comes with shrimp, fish cakes, grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves (so good!), sausage (this was missing!), tomato, crispy fried shallots with red thick wide noodles. I really enjoyed this noodle soup! There is such a rich depth of flavor in the broth and all the ingredients tasted fresh. I would definitely get this again after trying a bunch of different dishes on their menu. I love that they have items on the menu that you don't usually see at other Pho restaurants. The ambiance here is very nice! Very spacious, high ceilings and beautifully decorated. I deducted a star off my rating solely due to the fact that I asked a female waitstaff for the bill & she just walks away. We sat there waiting for it to come. After sometime, we looked around & a gentleman came over and asked if we needed something. I told him that we asked for the bill & he told us that we have to go to the front counter to pay. I found my go-to spot for Vietnamese food in Markham and it's at Linh Anh. I was debating to between the bun bo hue, bun rieu, bun ca hai phong. In the end, I chose the bun rieu and I was very satisfied with my dish. Plenty of fresh shrimp pieces, a crab cake, and lots of toppings. Not to mention the broth was not too salty yet very flavourful. The bun cuon is also a highlight. It's really rare to see Vietnamese restaurants offer this specific dish, so I was really happy to see it! I had it growing up and it's delicious. The bun cuon can be ordered as a full platter or just on its own which I did. Highly recommend the bun rieu here and bun cuon here as well. The tea they offer their guests needs to be mentioned. It's fragrant and got me drinking more tea than I usually would. There was a waitlist but I didn't find myself waiting for a table for more than 10 minutes. This place is also great for catching up with a friend, the interior is BEAUTIFUL and spacious. This restaurant also closes at 11pm so it's great for a craving any time during the day. read more

This pho place is pretty good. I ordered the Pho Tai, Nam, Bo Vien (rare beef slices, brisket, beef meatballs). The food came out piping hot and there was lots of meat in the pho. The broth also tasted like it was made with real beef bones. The one thing I didn't like about the meat was that the beef brisket and slices were very stringy and I had to break it up into multiple pieces. The service was very quick, and the tea was very good, so no complaints here. The interior of the restaurant was very nice. There were lots of pink trees and unique vases and I really appreciated how spacious this restaurant felt. We ordered the regular pho, wings, tried the curry too. The curry beef brisket was very flavourful and the bread, crispy and light. It took a while for this restaurant to open, but you can tell why. The interior is beautiful! I loved all the vases along the wall, everything looked beautiful inside. It looks so different from the restaurant there previously. My favourite is the banh cuon. The steamed rice roll took awhile to get to the table, but it was so fresh. The pho was good as well, they had fresh rice noodles and I also got the pho with tomato and crab base soup which was amazing! Overrated. You're paying for the interior decor. Food wasn't really worth it. My wife ordered pho. More soup than anything else. She got one tiny piece of tendon in her bowl. Oh wow. No provided lime or bean sprouts. My wife also ordered an iced coffee. More ice than coffee. A couple of gulps is what you pay for. My vermicelli with pork and spring rolls came AFTER my wife had finished her pho. Despite me waiting with my stomach growling, the server did apologize because the meat had to be prepared. The meat wasn't what I had expected. Not big morceaus. But thinly sliced pork. Was nicely marinated though. Overall, pretty good customer service. But foodwise, meh. read more

Menu is currently the takeout menu and the new specials. All pho comes in one size. What was ordered: Spring Rolls - comes in 3 - 14 bucks Rare beef pho Pho Dac Biet - crunchy flank, rare beef and beef balls House special with flank, rare beef, brisket, tendon and tripe Bun with grilled chicken (comes with spring roll) Now the flavours....broth was good. Full bodied and flavourful. Generous portions of meat. If you are not a big eater you might find it too much. Spring rolls seem to be bigger in size and were fresh and crispy. The chicken in the bun looked suspiciously like pork. Now the downside...not sure if they are still working out the kinks but service could have been better. 1. The guy who took our order wrote it on his palm. 2. When the pho arrived all three bowls looked the same, we actually had one bowl taken back to the kitchen for confirmation and despite this I still think they got it wrong. One order was the house special and should have had tendon and tripe. There was none of this in any of the bowls. Good thing it was the same price as the other bowls. 3. We had to ask for spouts and when the plate arrived it was a small one with 3 wedges of lime, no other herbs. At the cash (you have to go up and pay at the cashier) we were asked for feedback. My husband mentioned the spouts and the response was that it was included in the bowl. Like the tendon and tripe I did not see evidence of sprouts. I got Vietnamese food from Ubereats for late night since mr. Tran and I had an early dinner. I got fresh shrimp rolls, and two vermicelli noodles with grilled pork, that comes with a deep fried spring roll: The shrimp rolls were just okay, nothing to write about. The vermicelli and grilled pork portions were HUGE! Flavours is actually pretty good compared to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants that offer this dish, and the highlight was the deep fried spring rolls. It was delicious, crispy and stuffed with meat. Among the few Vietnamese chain restaurants, Linh Anh is my favorite. I find it feel less of a chain compared to the others. The reason is high food quality. Not only is the food delicious and pleasantly plated, but Linh Anh also sticks to the traditional garnishments, such as garlic in vinegar and red chilli. Maybe I had too high of an expectation going in, since I had such a warm and welcoming experience at their Midland location. This visit felt like a completely different restaurant. I was okay with the wait, and the larger space is definitely appreciated, but I didn't expect the menu here to be more geared toward shareable dishes rather than individual plates. Maybe that's how it is at Midland too, but I don't remember it being this much of a shift. Trying to fit a larger spread for just two people became a challenge pretty quickly. We were asked a few times to move our bags and the little utensil tray to make space, which made the whole meal feel more like we were in the way than being welcomed. I want to say I enjoyed the time catching up with my friend more than I did the food. We shared Fresh Pork and Shrimp Spring Rolls, Fried Spring Rolls, Vietnamese Beef Steak, and Bun Bo Hue. It was only later that we noticed the backside of the menu had individual-sized dishes, which would've made way more sense for us from the start. The food itself was alright, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the service and overall flow here just didn't match the standard I came to appreciate from their Midland location. It felt a little too hectic and not quite dialed in. For now, I think I'll stick to visiting Midland even if the menus turn out to be the same. Just felt more thought-through over there. read more

Visited this location that's across from Markville despite the feeling that the food quality has gone down in their first location in Scarborough. We thought we would give them a chance and decided to try it out. The restaurant is very spacious inside and it started to fill up as it was a fairly new place in Markham. We order two different phos, a rice dish and the classic Vietnamese fried chicken wings. The pho and appetizer arrived fairly quickly. The rice dish took a very long time (20 minutes or more). The pho dishes were ok, there wasn't that aha moment when we tried it. The worse dish by far was the rice dish and the fried chicken wings. The rice dish had undercooked meat and the meat that was cooked tasted extremely not fresh. The fried chicken had a similar issue, it did not have that epic taste that a lot of other Vietnamese restaurants had. Sadly, I will not be returning here again. read more

Second location. We liked the food at the Scarborough location so we thought it would be nice to have a second location that is much more closer to home and more spacious. Located right across Markville Mall. We arrived at 6pm for a party of 8 and was told we would have to wait for majority of our party to arrive before they would give us a table - that's understandable. There weren't any larger tables available so we waited for 30 minutes to be seated. The interior decor was very well thought out 10/10 very nice. Now for the ordering process. They give you a paper and pen and you write down the item number that you wish to order. This was a problem. The person who took our paper did not input it into the system. Our food should've taken 10-15 minutes to arrive, ended up taking 30-45 minutes to arrive. Onto the food. Flavourful and authentic but a lot of MSG - was thirsty for most of the evening. It's unfortunate they didn't run a soft opening to ensure a seamless experience for their customers. A lot of improvements need to be made within their operations. The service is actually pretty decent contrary to other reviews, to be fair tho usually we don't really expect too too much from asian restaurants as long as they take our order and do the things we ask, waiters were kind in that regard so I see no problem in the service The decor in the restaurant provided a pretty nice atmosphere/ambiance, and the fake tree in the middle looked pretty cool. The main problem I have with this place is the pho is just extremely mid. There is no particular depth of flavour in the broth and the noodles were very soggy upon arrival to the table. I was also expecting more meat in the bowl for 17.25, and compared to other places like Pho Quinn which is not even 5 minutes from this place that sells higher quality pho for cheaper, this pho is just good enough to not be bad. As the grand opening was not too long ago, the weight on the weekend was actually super long even after 9 PM there was still a waitlist however I ended up going on the following day on a Sunday was able to get a table, the interior decoration is amazing And it's very spacious. Unlike other pho restaurants, you are actually distance from other tables, which is great. The portion size was decent however I always order extra noodles for my kids and it was $4.50 for extra noodle on the side which was a pretty generous portion. I was not a super fan of their rare beef as it tasted kind of rough. However, I would go back for the cleanliness and atmosphere, but I do feel that other pho restaurants have better quality in their meat, but their broth is pretty good. read more

The place is quite nice with lots of seating and parking is fairly easy to find. We ordered the fried spring rolls, house special pho, bun bo hue, and the bun rieu cua. Everything was good, except for the pho. Much like their other location, the pho didn't have a lot of meat nor noodles. We also didn't get any beansprouts or plate of herbs with the pho here. The bun bo hue didn't have the blood cake like it said on the menu, but the bun rieu cua did. Bun rieu normally doesn't have blood cake so I think they were just sloppy making the dishes. read more

Overpriced and rubbish. Unfortunately their Scarborough location is much better, the flavours are quiet off and fairly bland . It's like they bought a cheap photocopier and cloned themselves. This pho race to who makes the most expensive bowl and have enough ignorant people continue to consume, is getting rather ridiculous. read more

Food was decent but service was horrible. Placed an order as soon as we got in and it was not placed with he kitchen. There are definitely better Vietnamese restaurants in the area. read more
