The broth was rich and tasty, although it leaned a bit on the salty side. WOW! This place blew my socks off. I'm a pho fan, and this is one of my favourite new pho places. We came here for lunch on a weekday and the place was packed. It's a little out of the way, in an industrial strip, but people still make the trip to this little gem spot. We got the Rib pho. It came with top quality rare beef, beef balls, and the piece-de-resistance: a two blades of braised rib which were melt-in-your-mouth. The broth was excellent; super rich. The pho was huge, large enough for two people. We also got some appetizers, all of which were excellent (calamari, wings and spring rolls.) There was a pho spot nearby and we decided to check it out at 1:30 pm. There was a huge line out the door. We added our name to the waitlist system and there were 10 tables ahead. The system automatically sends a text message to your phone, so we just walked around the parking lot because there was nothing else to do in the area. Pho 128 had a decent waitlist when we arrived but it was most certainly worth it to just sit in the car and wait it out for the bone marrow pho! It was so tasty and such a large portion that I would definitely want to come back to share it with someone else. Their Vietnamese coffee and their avocado smoothie were also delicious. They have a smaller seating area around the back, which was where we were seated. It was very cosy, but also less frequented by the staff, so it took a while to get service after our initial order was taken. Came to pho 128 on a Saturday afternoon and it was still packed at 2pm. Had the bone marrow pho and it came with lots of variety of beef. It came with two bone marrows which further enhanced the broth and made it super flavourful! Compared to other pho restaurants that serve bone marrows, this place gives big marrow pieces. In terms of the food, it's a five star, however, I found that the tables were quite small and the tray that holds the condiments and utensils take up a lot of the small table space and all the tables were spaced very closely together. read more

They are very generous with their meat portions. But the star of the show is the rich and smoky broth and crispy pork belly! The spring rolls are also really good! Saw a Facebook video on their bone marrow pho. Decided to try it on the same night. It's not a hard place to find but a lot of "parking spots" say no parking. It was surprisingly very full for a Wednesday evening (we got there around 5:30) Ambiance - 3/5: they have some designs. There are quite a lot of seats. They were so busy that day that the table numbers that are on the tray with utensils were shovelled around. Service - 3/5: not sure if it's because it was really busy so the food came out at random. I got lucky and mine came out quickly but tables around me had to wait for a long time. It took awhile for them to figure out which table we were at when we went to pay for our food. You have to pay at the front. They take cash, debit and credit card. Food - 3.5/5: I guess a lot of people saw the video and went. They ran out of everything that was beef bone related (half of their pho menu - including bone marrow, beef bone, rib pho). Many customers were disappointed. I ordered the house special pho (small) and a shrimp & pork ham fresh spring roll with a thai red milk iced tea The pho is ok. The broth isn't the most clear. The first taste that hit me hard was cinnamon. Then everything blended together and it was just really salty. They gave a lot of noodles. It came with the following toppings: 1 beef ball split in half, beef tendon, tripe and rare beef. The tendon is really tender and the beef cooked nicely in the broth. The other pho places come out with a plate of bean sprouts/lime/basil, but at this place, you need to ask for it. It comes in a small metal cup. I guess it safes on food waste in case customers don't use it. The spring rolls were ok - the wrapper was chewy but the rest was stsndard. I liked the dipping sauce though. It is my first time having a thai iced milk tea so I don't know if it's authentic. It tastes like jasmine green tea milk tea from tenren. Overall: 3.25/5 - I would like to come back to try the bone marrow but I will probably call ahead to see if they have it first. read more

Late night pho fix. I had a rice platter number 4 and a traditional pho and it was amazing. The soup had a flavorful aromatics that was not muted but not overwhelming. It was not overly salty and had a rich deep flavor. The meat was also tender and fatty without having a film of oil. The rice was so good. I came here as a group of 4 on a Friday evening and was thankfully seated immediately despite the place being quite busy, essentially a full house. The restaurant itself looked small at first glance but they actually had a hidden back-side to the place. Parking was minimal but sufficient. We ordered a couple dishes to try... A1. FRIED SPRING ROLL(2 ROLLS) - (CHẢ GIÒ): a definite would order again. These spring rolls were insanely crunchy! Yet not too greasy. I also liked how they pre-cut them for easy sharing. A2. FRESH SPRING ROLL(2 ROLLS) - (GỔI CUÔN): I love fresh rolls and this really hit the spot. The shrimp in these were quite big in size and were tender to bite into. The sauce it came with was satay-like and topped with am abundance of crushed peanuts. P1. HOUSE SPECIAL-(PHỞ ĐẶC BIỆT): the large size wasn't as big as I'd expect, but noodles were nice and chewy. Broth was also quite flavorful too. They serve this in a stone pot which keeps it hot throughout the meal. And weirdly enough I can't seem to find their SHRIMP & CHICKEN PAD THAI on the online menu which is the last dish we ordered. It was my least favorite of all the things we got though as it wasn't your typical "sweet and ketchup-based" pad thai, but rather, very savoury and satay-like. I loved the chewiness of the noodles - which were the same kind as the ones they used in the pho but harder when stir fried. We got about three pieces of shrimp only but they were big and tender. The chicken was a little scarce. Overall, service was friendly but we found ourselves struggling to flag employees down since we were hidden at the backside of the restaurant. It was nice to be offered both hot tea and iced water when being seated. Like most places, you help yourself to cutlery and napkins which are already present on the table. A very hidden gem in Vaughan near the industrial plazas. At first glance you wouldn't have high expectations as it's very unassuming, however, once you taste their food, you will want to go back! During lunchtime this place is usually PACKED so if you have a time-constrained lunch break, you may consider phoning the restaurant ahead to place your order first, so that you can eat right when you arrive (assuming you can snatch a table right away). I have ordered the vermicelli platter special combo 1 which comes with grilled pork slices, spring roll, Vietnamese pork sausage, and beef in betel leaf. The peanut and sauces were served separately which was very considerate of the restaurant, especially to those who have peanut allergies. The serving container was big but most of it was the ingredients rather than vermicelli. The grilled pork was tender and aromatic, definitely tasted the smokiness from grilling. We came here first the first time recently and loved it so much we went back a few weeks later. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and we've never had to wait for a table. The staff is also very friendly and the service is pretty good. We always have to try the Bun Bo Hue and we were not disappointed. I love peanut butter so the Pho Sa Te is what originally got me to try this restaurant. The sauce is delicious and the bowl is absolutely loaded with meat. I've never got crispy pork belly in a soup before but it was amazing! This dish had a nice amount of spiciness but it was never overwhelming. I love vermicelli dishes so I also tried their Vermicelli Special Combo #2. All of the meat is cooked perfectly and super flavourful. There's so many different meats and vegetables in this plate that no two bites taste the same! Like their soups, this is a generous portion that left me quite full. The fresh spring rolls were pretty good but nothing too special. They add ham which brings a nice flavour, but I still found the rolls to be less stuffed than what we're used to.
