It was very meaty & juicy, and shell was thinly & crisply fried.... as biting in, the juice splashed out. Soaked in the soup to mix the juice into the broth - heaven! The soup was well rounded, full of Crab flavor. The salt/sweet/sour/spice balance was on point. Essential ingredients like Crab meat ball, black pepper sausage, and blood pudding were all fresh. Satisfying, highly recommend! My hubby got combo set (Pho Tai, Nam & Goi Cuon Tom/fresh spring rolls) for $19. As usual, he asked his rare beef on the side so he can "cook" in the soup for his preferred done-ness. The arrived rare beef looked very fresh. The Bun Rieu had no Flavor in the broth but the soft shell crab was good. I would probably skip this. The pho zilla orders weren't available and neither were the platters. Nothing with oxtail or beef Rib bone was available. The pork chop lemon grass plate looked good and would come back for. Service was very slow and took us over 30 mins to get our order. Super yummy pho spot! I've been here twice now, and both visits were amazing. They often run great promotions too this time we caught their Holiday Fest deal: $79 for 3 mains, 1 appetizer or meat platter, and 3 drinks. Honestly, it was a lotttt of food. It easily could feed 4 adults, we ate a ton and still had leftovers. The drinks were all so good and packed with flavor. We ordered the Thai milk tea, green Thai milk tea, and Vietnamese coffee. They have a queuing system to alerts your phone number but we had a bit of an issue where they cancelled our table because they said we didn't reply within 5 minutes even though our phone timestamp showed we replied within a minute. We have been eager to try Pho Le since this restaurant was recommended by Michelin. And we finally had the chance to go there today! It was nice, though it wasn't amazing. I think my experience aligns with many previous reviews on Yelp. The service is okay, but it definitely does not make me feel it's a "Michelin-recommended" level of service. Some of them even felt impatient. I guess it's just because they were too busy, and I feel it was understaffed. This restaurant needs more employees to fit the number of its customers. It also has a strange policy: it charges an extra 15% of the total fee when there are more than 6 people. Why are we punished when we bring more customers to your restaurant? It does not make any sense. I am not stupid. Of course, I know it's because bigger tables occupy more space in the restaurant. However, it may be the WORST and STUPIDEST policy I've ever seen. You have so many ways to increase the turnover rate, why use the one that would irritate customers? The food was average. This restaurant was recommended by a friend who hadn't attended, but said it was Michelin recommend (in Vietnam?). In any event, attended with kids - seven of us total. After seated, took a while to receive menus. Had to ask. Ordered the signature beef pho - large. Kids ordered the small. For context, the large is equivalent to a medium. The small is likely not enough. None of the 3 kids were filled....had to order more noodles. More on that.... Food: the broth was good. Noodles okay. Decent portion size if it was a MEDIUM but definitely not for a large. I'm not fond of the noodles that taste like it was dunked directly into the broth from the package. While that may not be the case, the noodles did have that unwashed taste, so wasn't happy about that. Service: ordered extra noodles for the kids....w a i t e d....after two trips to the counter to inquire (about 20 mins later) it arrived. The kids soup was cold by then. Service is definitely lacking. There were only two servers so management needs to consider hiring at least one more server, given how busy they were. Also took a while to bring water/tea. Pho with Beef Ribs Personally I prefer fresh noodles but only dried noodles are offered. My beef ribs were not fall off the bone beef which was what I was expecting. I brought the leftovers home, and I cut off the beef with a scissors and recooked the broth. The beef ribs meat became more tender. Beef Bone Marrow I think the bone marrow was not fully roasted or not roasted sufficiently and to me it did not taste delicate as I have had at other restaurants, it just tasted fatty. The broth came out steaming hot. For the beef bone marrow broth, all the raw ingredients should be added as soon as possible to ensure the heat from the stone bowl cooks the ingredients. The pho IS very good but I don't think it's worth the 1.5+ hrs of wait time that you will currently encounter due to all the hype. My gf and I visited on Easter sunday for dinner at around 5:10pm and we got seated around 6pm so roughly an hour. If you arrive after 6pm prepare to wait 1.5+hrs as they don't take reservations. The pho dac biet had a very beefy broth. No hoisin or sriracha needed. I'm slightly biased as I'm the biggest fan of Pho Anh Vu just down the road (like 2 min away). This resto has less seating, extremely long wait time and the portion sizes are smaller. They do have "combo sets" where you can get a soup noodle with an appetizer but the appetizer is small size (effectively half of a regular order), so I'm not sure there's actually much value there. So while I'm giving them 5 stars for the broth being top tier (I think this is prolly what got them into the michelin guide?), I think I still prefer the overall value that Pho Anh Vu provides (nothing beats their beef rib pho special at the moment imo AND their portions are also the biggest). My gf wanted to try the 3 colour dessert but they unfortunately sold out. =*) Wait for the hype to die down and then visit this place. I came here around 11:30 am for a table of two on a Tuesday and it was easy to grab a table, as they were only at 60% capacity at the time. Their decor is very cute, giving off a nice aesthetic, and cozy vibes. The place also was quite clean. As soon as I sat down, I was given tea and menus. Overall, service was friendly. I ordered the "Original Laksa" as my main dish, and was offered to make it a combo with a small appetizer but I declined since I felt the noodles themselves would be enough food for me and it was. I loved the laksa, as it was very rich in flavor and had enough heat that it was tasty and enjoyable, but not deadly. There was an abundance of noodles, enough fish cake, fish balls, and fried tofu but I do wish there were more than 3 shrimps. The noodles themselves had a really nice chew and texture to them. My new top 3 pho spot in the GTA. For reference, Nam (Leslie & 16th) and Pho Metro (Warden & Lawrence) are the other 2. Pho Le recently opened this year and both my wife and I just can't get enough. Delicious broth, tender good quality meat and great noodles every time. I also like to add the free satay spice to heat it up - something that most other establishments usually charge extra for. Their wings and Laksha are delicious as well... my mouth is watering just thinking about it.. There was 4 of us. Three of us ordered their pho and the 4th ordered bun bo hue. The soup was gooood but it wasn't amazing like Pho Anh Vu. The soft shell crab was sooooo delicious that I had to order a second one to go. It was nice that I could get it on the side instead of the crab noodle soup. Pho Le recently opened up in Golden Plaza on Hwy 7 and Bayview facing hwy 7. I never heard of this place until it started to advertise it was "coming soon" and of course also had to name drop the Michelin guide. So having a Michelin STAR is very different from being in the Michelin GUIDE. Pho Le is part of the Michelin GUIDE meaning that it's of quite good consistent quality enough that it's on the radar of Michelin. As far as I could find this restaurant does not have the STAR rating. Having gotten that out of the way we came on Thursday right when they opened at 11am 5 days into their soft opening. I'm trying to be nice since they are still in their soft opening but I actually feel they would have done better to delay their opening. Some highlights -We were served two cups of warmer then room temperature tea at best. No refills offered ever during our visit -Only Pho and some appetizers/drinks available. I would say maybe 35% of their menu was available (already a small menu to begin with) -One small hand full size dish of bean sprouts for two orders of soup noodles. -2 napkins given The pho broth was sadly lacking. It was light and beefy flavored but that is all. A good pho broth has to have a LOT of aromatics, star anise, cloves, onions, ginger etc to give it a deep flavor profile. This broth was similar to a good vanilla ice cream. I love a good vanilla ice cream, but at the end of the day is still just vanilla. Although they were MORE then staffed (more staff then customers, too many cooks in the kitchen...) service was OK, but as mentioned no one offered more tea or checked in once. Beautiful broth with the pho. Likely the best and most robust I've had. The ingredients were fresh and lovely. My partner had a noodle dish with pork and chicken that was delicious. The fish sauce wings were terrific. We also had lemon iced teas, one with black tea and the other green. Both were fantastic. Total cost was under $60 with tip. We left stuffed with leftovers. Service was fast and courteous. We were first timers and they were great with explaining a few things. They don't check in on you a lot, but easy enough to flag people down. My husband and I went to this place yesterday lunch to try out this Michelin recommended restaurant in RH. We were waiting for it to open at 11am, it's 2/3 filled within 15mins of time, how crazy! We each ordered a combo, the combo you can choose from various soup base and it comes with 1 appetizer (fried spring rolls, fried wonton or fried chicken wings). We ordered the pho dac biet, and pho tai, nam. The pho soup base is sweet and clear (no msg for sure I drank so much and didn't feel thirsty after). Will definitely be back! Then... I went back with my husband again in 2 days on Monday lunch (I can't believe myself!!!) obviously there are less people but still busy 60% capacity. I've heard this was part of the Michelin guide so I wanted to give this place a try but was left fairly disappointed. First off, half their menu wasn't available (laksa and wings) and apparently won't be available for another 1-2 months. This was what I came for and I should've read the reviews beforehand. Secondly, although they have a lot of staff, they weren't very efficient...they didn't offer anymore water and had to come back and verify my order 10 mins later which meant they didn't even punch it in yet so I had to wait even longer for my food to come out. Lastly, having ordered the pho dac biet which included tendon had only one tiny piece in there. The portion sizes are small compared to other Vietnamese restaurants and the broth is clearer but I wouldn't call it anything special. We ordered a bun rieu and laksa dac biet and were disappointed by the quantity of both dishes. Though the laksa was very flavourful they loaded it up with bean sprouts instead of noodles. The bun rieu lacked depth in flavour. Judging not even from a Michelin, I would say the restaurant pales in comparison to some other Vietnamese competitors just down the street.
