I've had this place saved for the longest time and was waiting until I'm in the area to dine here…read more Finally made it and I'm so glad I tried it. First off, women-owned café? You go girls I love it. Came here for dinner and had a hard time choosing what to order as there are so many good options on the menu. Really wanted the calamari & shrimp appetizer but opted in for the shrimp bucket and the fish and chips. I also got a coconut mango drink which was super refreshing and delicious. I thought the fish tacos had a kick of spice added but they were still good. The fries were crispy, which I loved but the highlight for me has to be the shrimp. I loveeeeed the sea salt sauce. Though I usually don't like corn, I loved this one and enjoyed the meal. Would come back here for more for sure!

They double has a cafe. I love the decor! Very open, spacious, dark in a nice way, with a gorgeous sign at the back center wall. Staff are friendly and quick to check on you. The food was ok! I wouldn't say it was my favorite, and I wasn't quite blown away with anything. I would come back for certain things though. Starting off with the salad, the dressing had a texture and taste that I can only tell you was not made fresh in house. It had that sort of translucent quality to it that reminds me of bottled sauce. Portion was good, but I wish they would toss it for you. The bowl is full of salad and they drizzle the dressing on top. It's a thick dressing that's pretty hard to toss in the bowl. It's a minor thing but honestly would be a much better dining experience. Also if they just made their own ceasar dressing. The seafood boil was also meh. I got half pound mussels with Cajun sauce. It comes on a platter with rice, potatoes and corn. I felt that it would be nice if you could pick your own sides, like at other seafood boils. The potatoes had no flavor inside them and the corn was really starchy and rough, with no corn flavor. It was a bit off putting. The sauce was ok, but I think they use too much seasoning powder, or over cooked the garlic because it was leaving a bitter flavor behind. I didn't love it by the third bite. The fish and chips were probably the best of what we ordered. It's the Costco fries texture which I love!!! Plus the fish is cooked well. The batter is very light and crispy. Total perfection! So yeh!! I would highly recommend the fish and chips, but I would probably skip the boil here.

Parking seemed limited at first, but there's more available in the back. Just a tip: be careful not to miss the entrance, since exiting is a one-way street and re-entering can be tricky. We arrived around 6:45 pm and saw a small line with two groups ahead, but the place is much bigger than it looks from the outside and we were seated quickly in a comfortable booth for four. The pub was clean, and I was especially surprised at how spacious and tidy the washrooms were--not what I usually expect from a pub, which tend to feel older and worn. The menu is huge, and TVs are everywhere--even in our booth. Between us, we tried a good range of dishes: 1. Caprese Salad with Steak - nicely balanced with pesto, though the steak was a little dry. 2. Fish and Chips - incredible portion for $18! Crispy, perfectly cooked fish with fries, coleslaw, and even a Caesar salad. The fries were well-seasoned (no ketchup needed), coleslaw was enjoyable despite me usually not liking it, and the Caesar was delicious. 3. Mexican Salad - flavorful, fresh, and generous in portion. 4. Tuesday Wing Special - wings were $0.90 each, so I ordered 15 with a Coke Zero. The garlic Parmesan was disappointing--dry and lacking flavor--but the Buffalo ranch wings were tender and spot-on. Service was friendly, though our waitress could have been more proactive with drink and water refills. Overall, I was impressed. Clean space, huge portions, good value, and a welcoming pub atmosphere. Definitely a solid stop if you're in the area.

The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, and when we moved to our table our server was also great. Cocktails were fabulous and the ambiance of the place is very nice. My wife ordered this vegetarian squash dish and she loved it. I ordered the steak and the cook was perfect but I found the sauce overpowering. It's personal preference, I like my steak with just salt and pepper without sauce. My fault for not reading the menu correctly. The sides of purée and veggies were great. Overall KB hits it out of the ballpark and is so much better than the chain upscale eateries.

Every dish I had was very good. For this meal I ordered something different, the shrimp stuffed catfish. Never had catfish so this dish was calling me. The sauce was very tasty and had a nice kick of heat to finish. Catfish was good and the shrimp stuffing was more like a meat ball texture and not really whole shrimp like I thought. Service was very good. Our waitress was chatty and was joking around with us which was fun. Ambiance is more on the rustic side almost had a saloon feel, partly because of the old building but it was quaint. There was plenty of free parking in the rear which was convenient. All in KB is a good option if you are looking for an above average restaurant in the east end.

But..... my gosh. The dishes looked nice. My niece said her food was okay. Her cousin said his food was overcooked. My dish was trash, my gosh, I couldn't stomach the taste. The salmon was tough, tasted bad, rank. The seasoning was weird and didn't pair well. It had some kinda spice that tasted odd. I don't even know what to say about it. But later that night I was throwing up well into the morning. I only eat possibly 3-4 small bites, most of the dish was left back. I still tipped and didn't complain as I just wanted the kids to have a nice night without arguing with whoever. As I write this I am reminded of the disgusting taste. NEVER again for that dish! Now that I think about it I honestly shouldn't have tipped. Paying for that dish was already above and beyond!

Which my group was! There were some vegetarian options as well. We had a variety of starters-the scallops, seafood chowder (this was big and perfect to share among 3 people), oysters, and jumbo shrimp cocktail. For mains, we had the cod fish, seafood linguine, and octopus. For dessert, we had the almond cake and lava cake. From the starters, we recommend the scallops. They were a great size and perfectly cooked and paired with a crisp fruit and bacon. All 3 mains were great and quite filling. As fir dessert, if you're a chocolate lover, don't pass on the lava cake it wad divine. As for service, it was excellent. Food came out at a reasonable time, and the server himself was really personable and friendly. This place is definitely a redo!

I'm still shocked to my core that we were treated this way. We finished our meal and left. So obscene. Makes sense that we were the only patrons there on a Friday evening. Don't go.

Came here for a birthday celebration in the evening. It was busy, I recommend getting reservations…read moreas it seemed like a popular spot among the locals on a Saturday. Service was still very attentive during this time. Our appetizers included: complimentary bread, escargot and shrimp, cajun calamari, and a large ceasar salad Our drinks: coffee martini, cosmopolitan, and lychee martini Our mains: trout and scallops, pickerel and shrimp, and seafood di mare The appetizers were great, and the large salad was enough to feed 3 people (could have fed a 4th as we had leftovers). The star in this bunch was really the escargot and shrimp. It came with a buttery sauce that was good with the complimentary bread. The oysters were also fresh and came with salsa and horse radish topping to choose from. The calamari, while good, was overshadowed by the others. It was meant to have a cajun taste, but I did not get that flavouring coming through, but it was still a good app regardless. For the drinks, the lychee martini seemed to be a favourite given the amount of alcohol while the cosmo seemed light on it. So if you're looking for a martini with a fruity kick, I'd recommend going to the lychee martini. The coffee one tasted more like coffee, but it may have been masking the amount of alcohol based on its strong flavor. For the mains, all three were excellent. The seafood di mare is very decadent and heavy. After eating so many appetizers, I barely had any bites, but it did make for some great leftovers.
