Typical pho joint -- decor was standard. Service was great. The tripe, meat, meatball and tendons were all delicious. The noodles were amongst the better ones. The broth was very good and on the clearer side. I prefer mine with more flavor. Overall place was legit and will go back again!

Not bad, but broth not as flavourful than other places I've been to and flank was more fatty than I would like.

Met up with a few friends for lunch. I also come here for lunch sometimes as it close to my work. It was a cold day, so I decided to try my go to pho, beef flank. I thought it was ok, the broth is not as flavorful compared to my preferred Viet resto by my condo and also the meat was kind of fatty. I did come before, and I ordered the bun noodles. I did enjoy the noodles more than the pho.. good portion size, pork was juicy and spring roll was decent. I would come back for bun and not the pho. 3.5*

#48 assorted beef pho noodle soup

This is a quaint low key under the radar pho joint tucked away in a strip mall of the Jane/Wilson area. I use to eat here a lot but stopped going as it's in the opposite side of town. Tonight I had a craving as it's my favourite pho place. Broth can be slightly oily on top but the taste is unique. I also like they they give you a lot of basil and also another green that I can never tell what it is. Seating is packed but worth it. We had traditional pho noodle special #48 which is an assortment of meat inside. Spring rolls were fried and great crispy. Avocado milkshake is great tasting with real fruit of course. This place doesn't disappoint.

From Florida, we came to Toronto for a reunion and were introduced to this noodle soup spot called Pho Con Bo, meaning the "Cow" Pho. It offers much more than Pho, the famous Vietnamese noodle soup here. I tried the Tendon Pho. Impressively good. My guest had the vermicelli with shrimp and grilled pork and loved it, too.

This is a good option for Viet food if you're in the area as it did not disappoint. We also went a bit adventurous and ordered their banh cuon (rice rolls) combo with deep-fried shrimp cake, sour ham and cha lua (the deli cold cut). The banh cuon here isn't my fav, but the shrimp cake and toppings are pretty good. We like the deep-fried fritter. The sour ham is well seasoned and... sour so it might not be for everyone's taste buds. I'm glad we tried it. Unique compared to other banh cuon options from other pho joints. For COVID precautions, they check for vaccine proof. However, if you care, they do have their utensils and sauces out for people to use, so they are not the most sanitary way to share. The tables are well spaced apart, and I like the plants they have hanging around the space.

Pho Con Bo Ratings: 4.3/5 Food: 4.75/5 - Came here for lunch with my boyfriend and his parents on a Friday afternoon. This is highly rated Pho place in the area, and I was really excited to try it out. We ordered a variety of items and shared! I would highly recommend this place to all Pho lovers out there. Please read the descriptions below for more details on all the items we got that day. - Fresh Shrimps Pork & Salad Rolls [GET]: A must get item whenever we go to a Vietnamese place. The large size comes with four rolls. Each is made with fresh jumbo shrimp, pork and vermicelli noodles. The ingredients are fresh and yummy. I was not a fan of their peanut sauce, tasted too watered down and sweet. I wished there were more peanut flavors and creamier. I would recommend eat it with some hot sauce instead or just by itself. - Steamed Glutinous Flour w/ Shrimp & Green Beans [GET]: My boyfriend's dad loved this appetizer. It is three big glutinous, mochi texture like dumplings packed with minced pork and shrimp fillings inside. The fillings were tasty and a bit mushy, but I was not a fan. The dough was too thick and doughy for me pairs was an already kind of mushy interior just didn't work out for me. - Mi Dac Biet [GET]: I was eyeing their special egg noodle with a variety of seafood and meats. I was really looking forward to it, but I realized I forgot to tell them that I want it without soup, but next time, I guess. The noodles are al dente, cooked just right. I like the variety of protein in it. There's shrimp, squid, and lots of meats. I like the broth as well, slightly sweet, but pairs well with the ingredients. Also, there's a shrimp cracker on the side, fried perfectly, crunchy and crispy. Literally perfection and remember to drip it in the broth to soften it up and soak up the broth. - Pho Dac Biet [GET]: Their house special combination pho with rare steak, well done flank, soft tendon, beef tripe, and beef balls with vermicelli soup. The meats are so tender and juicy, very easy to chew. Their broth was impressively good, not too sweet and packed with strong beef flavors. It tasted very authentic and light, definitely made in-house, definitely a good an underrated beef broth. Ambiance: 4/5 - This is low key, a hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese joint tucked away in a strip mall near Jane and Wilson area. The interior is a lot bigger, clean, and nicer than I thought based on its exterior. There's plenty of tables and seats available. The menu is also laminated and a large variety of options to choose from. It definitely looks like they tidy up the place a bit recently. Price: 4.25/5 - The prices here are fair and reasonable. My egg noodle soup with seafood and meat was $14.50, the pho dac biet my boyfriend got was $11 for a large, the springs are $11 for four rolls, and the flour dumplings are $12 before taxes. The portions are decent, and the food are delicious! Service: 4/5 - The staffs here are pretty friendly and nice. They were fast at taking orders and getting us tea as soon as we sat down. The food came out relatively fast, within 10 t o15 minutes after placed the order. They were very considerate and cut up the spring rolls so that we can share it. After the meal, you go to the front and pay at the cash register. BLUF: An authentic Vietnamese place that serves rich and flavorful beef noodle soups, unique and delicious noodles dishes, and appetizers. It's an above average Pho place, and I would recommend it to all the Pho lovers out here. Make sure to come earlier, since this place can get pretty packed during lunch hours. I got the mi dac biet (#52), and I highly recommend getting that with the soup on the side!

My partner and I were craving for some Vietnamese breakfast food on a sunday morning. Not the typical Pho or Banh Mi most places have. We found this hole-in- the-wall/gem in the west end. Atmosphere was as expected, some uncles smoking outside the place and an auntie on video call with speakers on max, a couple tables over. The surroundings made it feel very authentic. The service was good and straight forward. Maybe because my partner speaks Vietnamese. Food arrived in a decent amount of time. Pay at front counter, they accept cash and debit only. 8.5/10 100B. Beef Steak (Bo Ne) [Thin slice of beef steak with fried egg, onion slices, and pate on sizzling platter. Served with baguette.] A popular Viet street food breakfast, very hard to find in Toronto. The beef was tender and had a rich soy based sauce. Was perfectly seasoned and pate elevated the dish. Came with a sweet hot sauce and soy sauce on the side, didn't need it. Egg was over cooked and steak could have been pre-cut but overall delicious dish. 7/10 14. Banh Cuon Dac Biet [Steamed rice flour rolls filled with ground pork and wood ear. Served with Vietnamese sausage and vegetables(carrot, cucumber and beansprouts). Fish sauce for dipping or pour over. This special one also has a deep fried shrimp cake & sour ham(Nem Chua).] The rolls were soft and had good meaty flavour. Went well with the slightly sweet fish sauce and fried shallots. Good portion too. However, the rolls could have been thinner/smoother and more stuffing. Was good but I've had better downtown. Shrimp cake was standard. The Nem chua tasted fresh and not too sour. 8/10 10. Banh Beo & Banh Ich Tran [Steamed rice cakes in disc shape, topped with mung bean, green onion oil, and fried shallots. Rice flour dumpling stuffed with mung bean and pork. Poached and finished with green onion oil and shrimp powder on top. Fish sauce for dipping.] The banh beo was delightful and fun to eat. I could eat a dozen of these. Rice cake was soft and bouncy. The toppings compliment the dish very well. Was my first time trying banh it tran. Really enjoyed the texture, almost like a soft mochi. Would have liked it with more pork and less mung bean inside but still yummy. Cravings satisfied! Would come back to try their Com Tam, saw lots of customers ordering it.

Medium pho with rare beef and beef balls

I've been to my fair share of pho places and it's always nice to go to ones run by actual Vietnamese people. Pho Con Bo was good, not the best I've had but good. Nothing to write home about for decor but that's not what these kind of family run businesses are about. It was similar to most downlow pho places I've been to and it was clean so that was nice and the service was quick. Foodwise I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the medium pho with raw beef and beef balls and shared a pork rice roll with vietnamese sausage with a friend. To top it off, I got a mango milkshake. I really liked the clean broth of the pho. It was hot and flavoured, though more of the salty variety than the beefy flavour; still tasty. They gave me a ton of meatballs, more than I'm used to which was a nice surprise. The raw beef was already mostly cooked by the time it got to me and the slices were small so that was slightly disappointing. The meat was a bit tough for my liking. The noodles were also the dry variety which is fine but I think it was left cooking a tad too long. With this type of noodle, they need to be slightly al dente as they continue to cook in the hot broth but unfortunately mine was already getting a little too soft when I got it. The rice rolls and vietnamese sausage were good as well, nothing to complain about. I didn't eat it right away so it was a little cooler than I hoped, that was my fault though. The most disappointing part was the mango milkshake. I saw that they use real mangos which is great but the flavour didn't really shine through in the drink. I mostly tasted watered down condensed milk with a hint of mango. Either the mangos weren't ripe or sweet enough, or there was too much ice. The benefit was that it wasn't overly sweet and I could taste some condensed milk. I probably wouldn't order that again though. Overall, it's a decent pho place for the price but I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here. Good for a quick bite if you're in the area.

This has been a place I've frequented for many years now. The reason I come back every time is because you can get huge portions of food for a good price. If you take a look at their menu they have a gigantic selection for Pho noodles. I always get the Pho here. I asked for a large bowl of Pho Tai Nam Bo Vien (Rare beef, well done flank, and beef balls rice noodle soup). If you happen to be extremely hungry, they have an XL size as well. My noodle bowl arrived with a plate of herbs (basil, long coriander, bean sprouts, and lime slices). The broth was light and flavourful, just the way Pho broths should be. Their broth is what draws me back each time. It is just perfect. They also don't skimp out on meat. What they do here is really great. I finished my bowl and was very full. Their menu is huge and I've yet to try their other great dishes.

This is my go to pho restaurant when I'm close and around Yorkdale, soup is very good and very little MSG very authentic and beef balls are juicy with strong beef flavour, meaning it was made fresh!

Steam eggs with pork on rice

The owner of Pho Con Bo is run by Vietnamese. This restaurant brought back some of my colleges memories. The family run business style, the way they served customers made you felt guests coming "home" for a visit. There is not a lot of vietnamese restaurant have steamed egg meatloaf (cha trung chay) on their menu, probably it is one of the many reason I kept returning. The other dish that I don't found at another similar Vietnamese restaurant is the fresh pork roll on rice paper. The roll balanced out on it own with the rice paper and fish sauce. Overall, the impression of the restaurant is clean, friendly service and inviting. Tables got filled up during lunch hours. Would recommend and return again for other dishes.

I'm happy they've extended their closing time. This place used to close around 10pm but now they close at midnight. Great for people who work late and just want something quick and inexpensive. Food is served quick but sometimes they can mess up a drink order. I usually order the fresh lemonade with ice and no salt. I find occasionally they will make it with salt. Overall, quick food and quick service. Good for late night cravings

The place is quite small and they get busy so expect some crowding. The food was delicious and had exceptional flavour and quality. It was not as spicy as I had hoped it would be but the flavour profile was irresistibly good. Grilled Pork and Chicken on Broken Rice had ample portions of meat. They were tender and juicy. As I mentioned, the place gets busy and packed. We were a group of 8 and I tried to book a reservation a couple of days prior to our visit. To our disappointment, they did not accept reservations at all. The wait time was quite long since we were such a big group. This was quite hectic and stressful for the servers. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly few staff members who showed us to our table. The decor inside was modern, it was clean and the ambiance was great. As soon as we sat down we were brought hot drinks of our choice to warm us up. It took a while before we settled on our meal choices after much discussion. We have some vegetarians and some non-vegetarians in our family so it was nice to see that vegetarians could be accommodated here. All of the meals turned out to be very tasty from our appetizers to our mains. Spring Rolls** were crispy, tasty and served with a sweet-spicy sauce. These were the outstanding showstoppers of the entire meal or at least a few of us agreed that they were our favourite choice. Vegetarian Cold Rolls (small) were crunchy, refreshing and served with a peanut sauce with roasted peanuts on top. I was told that my homemade version of vegetarian cold rolls was even better than the restaurant version since I include more tofu but this restaurant version came in a close second place. Stir-fried Vegetables with Tofu and Steamed Rice was very super flavourful, as was the veggie soup broth. The main vegetarian dish had a bit of kick to it, lots of black pepper, and a tangy spicy taste which was almost too spicy for one family member's simple palate. Nothing a bowl full of rice couldn't fix. What would make it a 5 star rating would be if they had included a bit more tofu, otherwise it was a very good dish. Grilled Pork Chop with Rice was wonderfully delicious. The veggies made the dish eye catching. The flavour packed broth was delightful. It was served with a drizzle of oil of green onions which when combined with freshly steamed rice make the perfect trifecta. Stir-Fry Rice Noodles with Seafood (which had squid, fish balls, shrimp and possibly scallops) was very well received by one hungry man. He didn't mind that the vegetarians had more veggies on their plates than him. Stir-Fry Rice Noodles* with Vegetables had a great colourful presentation and tasted very good, according to another. Once again their only other comment about the dish was that they wished there was more tofu in it. What would make it a 5 star rating would be if they had included a bit more tofu, otherwise it was also a good dish. The staff were more than accommodating to the requests of grandparents who needed to relocate tables to stay warm during this cold winter season. My family very much appreciated our visit to this restaurant. Fantastic hospitality. Great service and friendly personable staff.
