A little bit of communication would have been nice, just got the "it's coming" the two times I asked about where it was, no timeline or anything. Spring rolls were kind of bland, no real flavour - however the crunchiness hits the spot. Bun bo hue when it arrives is truly amazing! The perfect amount of spice - makes you sweat a bit without killing you - you can still taste everything you're eating! I do prefer Toronto's Pho Anh Vu over the Vancouver location, somehow the Bun Bo Hue doesn't hit the same over here.

It was not as spicy as I had hoped it would be but the flavour profile was irresistibly good. Grilled Pork and Chicken on Broken Rice had ample portions of meat. They were tender and juicy. As I mentioned, the place gets busy and packed. We were a group of 8 and I tried to book a reservation a couple of days prior to our visit. To our disappointment, they did not accept reservations at all. The wait time was quite long since we were such a big group. This was quite hectic and stressful for the servers. Hopefully this can be considered in the future for big groups (8 people and above) to make the service smoother.

The beef was better than the chicken, so personally I'd stick with that for next time. The portion was very big and a lot of food. I also tried the crispy spring rolls for the first time and they were so yummy. The portion only came with 2, but I wish there was more! They are decently sized spring rolls though. They come with a sauce that paired very well with them. All the food came out in a timely manner and was very fresh. Overall this was a pleasant discovery and makes it into my top 3 pho restaurants easily. The curry beef with the crispy egg noodles reminds me of khao soi though there is less of a coconut flavour and more salty and savoury. I don't usually have curry Vietnamese style so I didn't know what to expect. But we found it a little too salty and also I personally prefer my curry a little sweeter like Japanese or coconut-ish like Thai or HK style curries. It's good, just not to our palate. It's a generous portion so we took it home and actually used the remaining curry broth to make a tasty stew with other ingredients and a touch of marinara sauce and it turned out really tasty! The crispy triangles rolls we had were fantastic and I like the side of fresh greens with it. Dry chicken pho noodle salad is always good. I like that they provide the broth of beef balls on the side so you can always enjoy it with the broth if you like. I think the extra broth with beef balls only happens for dine-in though because I have taken out that same dish before and I don't remember them including the extra broth on the side. The other time we also tried their shaking beef (comes with a fried egg on top) with rice and ordered the tapioca seafood and pork noodle soup - look through my later photos for reference. I don't think we'll order the shaking beef again but the tapioca noodle soup would be in rotation. Love that they are always experimenting with different dishes and I'm always excited to try something new here from their off-menu dishes.

And The fried spring rolls tasted like they were bought and frozen and not handmade. The jade rice has mixed of crispy rice, the crunch is making each bite more delicious. Beef is seasoned well and the pickled cucumber is a good addition to the dish. For the 2nd visit, I mistakenly ordered C10 thinking it was a rice plate. (It was fried rice) Few minutes later I asked if its not too late to change it, and mentioned what I meant to order. They quickly update my order and still got it on time. Service is good, they move like a lightning here. And probably one of the fanciest vietnamese restaurants I've been to.

Condiments and utensils were not on all the tables including ours (HIGHLY unusual for a Vietnamese restaurant). One over-squeezed, crumpled bottle of hoisin arrived before we placed our order. Restaurant was fairly empty for Mothers' Day. Spouse placed the order and then all hell broke loose. The restroom was OUT OF SOAP. There was a WET TOWEL hanging up to dry your hands. I told spouse to cancel the order and walked out. Grim.
